Nightmare Moon's Appetite
To Princess Luna, life in Equestria was normal. She ruled with an iron fist, and from time to time was referred to as Nightmare Moon. It had become in essence her title, as one might call themselves Empress- she instead called herself Nightmare.
This, of course, had been her persona for hundreds of years. Ever since she beat Celestia at what she had called the “Great Game” the personas and bodies of Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon had merged, and she wore her “transformation” proudly. It set her apart, as a unique and divinely gifted ruler of Equestria. Her beauty was without parallel, her power without equal, and her wisdom would never be surpassed. She ruled because she alone had the capacity to, and because she alone deserved to.
In those hundreds of years Equestria had changed. It became more warlike, and had annexed and occupyed the Crystal Empire only years after Luna assumed the throne. The Griffon Kingdoms had followed, as had the yaks. Eventually the entire continent fell under the flag of the Nightmare Empire, and a long golden age followed.
Golden for the ponies, but not so much the client states that funded the opulent splendor of Canterlot and the surrounding areas. Luna had set out to outdo Celestia in every way, and erasing her from history by supplanting herself as the rightful ruler saw Equestria rebuilt in her image. Life was good for the ponies, and over time her rule was accepted as much as anything else. Generations passed, and eventually rebellion was so far out of mind as to be almost heresy.
Literally, to a point, as Luna both allowed and, in some ways, supported the many Lunar cults that sprang up over time.
Eventually however the easy conquests ended, and the conquests of foreign lands proved too costly to mount. Saddle Arabia threw the Equestrian’s back, leaving an uneasy understanding between the two.
This left Luna, over time, bored. The domestics of Equestria were boring, and there was only so much one could do or build that could hold her interest and ambition. With boredom came indolence, and with indolence came hedonism. The mare that had cast down and enchained Celestia had been a lithe mare, fit and well muscled with a slim set of armour to fit her well-curved body.
The mare that ruled Equestria in the tenth century was anything but. Her muscles had long since shrunk thanks to reliance on her godlike magic powers, and her body had swollen with fat piled on by an endless supply of meals. Princess Luna was not someone who was refused, and over time her will dissolved and Luna’s will to even deny herself vanished. Long periods went by with little more than ensuring every Prince in the Empire saw her bedchambers, and every dish was sampled.
So it then comes to the 11th century. For 1100 years Princess Luna, Nightmare Moon by title, had ruled the Nightmare Empire. Her boredom had peaked, and she developed a plan. Celestia, chained to her will by magic, found herself called to the royal chambers. Her will long since broken, Luna perhaps didn’t even need magic to keep her in line.
When she entered, it took remarkable willpower to not roll her eyes. Luna was naked, her pitch-black coat swollen with fat and food that bloated her body, and her enormous breasts heaved with every softly wheezing breath. Beside her a tray of cupcakes was slowly put to death by the tyrant, and on her other side a half-empty bottle of wine slowly emptied. A female servant stood beside her, ready as always to please, and a guard armed with a pike (two if you looked closely) stood at her other side.
By this point Luna barely understood common decency, and simply did as she pleased. If eat and drink herself into oblivion while in the nude pleased her- then so she would.
Celestia was herself still slightly taller than her sister, and with a much thinner but well-endowed body. She wore the simple dress of a maid, and would be able to pass as one were it not for her flowing mane and the steel collar around her neck. That collar sparkled with magic and kept her obedient to her sisters every whim.
Luna grinned widely as Celestia stepped forward and got on one knee and belched a sprinkling of chocolate crumbs on her chest before she moved to speak. “Ah, sister, you made it- good, I have need of you.”
Celestia looked up but remained silent. Her eyes were glassy and devoid of emotion, anything she felt inside silenced by the magic of her collar.
“You’ve been studying, haven’t you? I’ve been told you’ve been in the library when I haven’t been using you- good, you’re much more worth wasting time on academics than myself, and I don’t trust this to any… lesser ponies.”
Luna leaned forward, the fat tire around her neck squishing around her chins as she looked towards Celestia, “I’ve learned there’s other worlds, Celestia. You are going to build me a portal so I may conquer them.”
Celestia blinked, the only sign of emotion thus far, but remained silent. “Oh? You don’t think it can be done?” Luna taunted, and leaned back in her chair before shoving an entire brownie into her mouth.
He little display of greed left her gagging on it for a moment, but with some time and effort she managed to swallow it down and belched again, “You will work on this until I am either convinced it’s not possible, or you’ve succeeded. Until then… your diet will be bread, and nothing more.”
A wide and evil grin covered Luna’s soft face, and she reached for another brownie. The sheer greed and dominance in her demand left her slightly aroused, and her fat thighs rubbed against eachother, “I eat enough for both of us anyway, don’t you think?” she sneered, and shoo’d Celestia away with her free hand.
It took four years, and the resources of an entire town dedicated to producing parts for it, but eventually Celestia was able to produce what Luna desired. In that time she had lost weight, her curvy figure shrinking significantly, and Luna had only packed more as if she was perversely taunting her sister with her own body. When she stepped into the workshop all that time later Luna was hardly even fat.
Princess Luna was morbidly obese. Her breasts outsized her head, each, and her rotund rear end stuck out nearly a full-foot behind her. The width of her thighs was enough that she would have gotten stuck in there if the doors weren’t doubled, and her enormous food-bloated belly made her appear easily nine months pregnant. Not a moment went by when she wasn’t full, and this was no exception.
Luna halted in the middle of the room and braced herself on a table. Her adipose-thickened arms shook slightly to keep her mass from falling over, and the table creaked equally. A gentle wheeze came out of her with every breathe as her size strained even her alicorn magic and caused her body problems. Her face contorted in slight pain before a bubbling rumble sounded from her gut, and a wet sickly sounding belch escaped her lips.
“Celestia…” she started, and had to take a breathe from that alone, “Show me… show me progress. You said you had something working.”
Celestia’s face was devoid of emotion as always, and despite her weight loss she seemed almost healthier than before. She nimbly sidestepped the many open projects in the room, and made her way to her sister.
“I have, Empress,” she spoke, and a slight flare of frustration shone momentarily out of her eyes, “I have found that a portal is possible- but only… for an alicorn, because of the magic strength required. I can send one of us, but they’d need to get themselves back- and I can’t be sure where I send them until they do.”
Luna’s eyes narrowed, and she stared at her sister. Celestia couldn’t lie- it was impossible- but this result clearly angered her. That anger built and soon enough boiled over. “Unacceptable!” she screamed, and used her overwhelming weight to shove that table aside, scattering what was on it across the floor.
With surprising speed for her size, driven by anger, Luna stepped against her sister and pushed her back. “You will go, yourself, and you will find me a world ripe for the taking. If you don’t come back with something…” Luna hissed, and her horn started to glow.
Luna’s arms thrust out and she shoved Celestia, sending her to the floor. Were she anyone else, the huffing and wheezing mare looming over her would hardly be terrifying, but even without her magical collar Celestia knew the powerful magic behind that horn.
“Then it would hardly be any great loss for me, would it? One less mouth to feed…” Luna spoke.
Moments later she gasped slightly and grit her teeth, a hand shooting to her chest as a pain shot through her insides. “Nggg, don’t… get me angry like this,” she wheezed, “I need food…”
In the coming days Celestia did as ordered, and Luna soothed her frustrations with ever increasing amounts of food. With every report of failure, of worlds too barren or too alien to conquer, Luna’s frustration grew.
Eventually Celestia stopped returning at all, and for the first time Luna felt a guilt inside her. Like most things, she drove this away with food, and with nobody left to tell the tyrant no her obesity continued to get worse.
The pitch darkness of her coat began to pale slightly, and the colour of her eyes faded somewhat. The Nightmare’s horn glowed with a perpetual semi-active magic to keep herself going as her poor diet and insatiable appetites toll grew on her.
Sessions of court were met with Princess Luna’s body overflowing the throne, and the pathetically wheezing mass of fat she had become gazing down at the nobles with a disinterested gaze. Through it all, she ate, a seemingly never ending feast of chocolates and whatever else her heart desired in the moment.
Even the body of an alicorn wasn’t truly immortal, but Luna had little pleasures in this world beyond sex and food, and the former had quickly become too much effort to be worth the bother. By the time Celestia had been gone long enough for dust to gather in that workshop, Princess Luna’s body had grown to nearly nine-hundred pounds.
The Nightmare rarely left her chambers, preferring instead to remain in bed and direct what little she cared to from there, and instead kept herself on the edge of stomach sickness with wine and chocolate. The scale of her body was immense, only a fat-fetishist could view her as anything more than disgusting and pathetic, a pig long since lost to food addiction, and on the slow road to ending six feet underground.
Celestia entered her quarters to find her like she had all those years ago when she was first given her “assignment”, and gazed upon Luna’s naked form once again. The Nightmare laid upon her bed, wheezing loudly. So obese was she that her face was obscured by her own enormous mounds of breasts, which perpetually leaked a stream of milk down herself. The red-tinged and always bubbling cauldron of her stomach rose and fell with each breath, and now and then Luna hiccuped a wave of chocolate bile over herself. Bored, and resigned to chasing ever increasing amounts of food to fill a hole in her life, she had let herself go to the point that even with her tree-trunk legs spread her sex was invisible.
Luna was thusly quite surprised to feel to hands slap to her gut. Unable to sit herself up to her own power, she sputtered and coughed and tried to look pass the shelf of her own fat. It was impossible, she could hardly see her own stomach beyond her breasts let alone anything in the room.
“Who…” she wheezed, “is… touching me?”
Luna was even more surprised to hear the giggling sound of her sister. Shocked, Luna felt a wave of pain in her chest and coughed loudly before her horn stabilized her overwhelmed and fat clogged heart.
“It’s me, Luna, but you’d know that if you had bothered to check up on things. My my, you really have gotten out of shape haven’t you?” Celestia spoke, and threw something down on the bed with a soft thump.
Luna turned to the side, and her eyes flew open with horror as she saw a steel collar. It was Celestia’s, of course, it even wore the brand of the Nightmare Empire.
“C-Celestia? Wh… how?” Luna questioned.
The Nightmare writhed and wobbled as she tried to get herself up into a sitting position, but the long atrophied muscles were hardly a match for the hundreds of pounds of fat, and near hundred pounds of food, weighing her down. Instead the effort simply left her heart spasming again, and upset her stomach enough that a spray of chocolate shot out of her mouth and coated her oversized chest.
“Did you eat too much, Luna? You certainly sound like it…” Celestia taunted, and finally stepped into the view of her sister.
Within moments Luna knew that wasn’t quite her sister. Her face was slightly different in shape, and her body was much larger in figure, but shorter. Husky one might say, but definitely fit, with well defined muscle on her arms. The dress she wore was different as well, Celestia tended to prefer gold- but this mare wore one of red.
“You’re not….” Luna wheezed, but a finger was soon pressed to her chocolate-coated lips.
“Not quite, Luna. She is busy resting and spending some time with Twilight Sparkle. I was sent back to… tend to you,” Celestia spoke, and pivoted to step away from the pathetic Nightmare.
“I was told you were fat, but dear me it looks like I came here just in time. I haven’t seen a mare of your weight since… well, since I let myself go and got into a thousand too many cakes,” she spoke, and a slight sneering hiss entered into her voice.
“Nothing I can’t fix with a few decades of hard work and exercise, however- and you needn’t worry, it was childs play to usurp the throne with you in here like this. How long do you think I’ve been here?”
Luna continued to try and right herself, and soon fell back on plan B- her magic. The Nightmares horn began to shine brightly and finally gave her the leverage she needed to sit herself up. From that position it quickly became clear that with the five-hundred pound ball of her belly in the way, glorshing with food at every movement, there was no use even trying to get too her feet.
But even so, anger began to cloud her mind. Despite her better senses Luna bared her teeth at her rival and empowered her weak muscles with magic. Slowly, she began to move, and panted loudly with the effort required just to swing her massive legs off the bed.
Putting all that weight on one side proved to be a poor idea, and the side legs of it snapped. Even still, Luna maintained her focused angry and pushed herself up from behind with magic. “I will…” she huffed, “Not be… threatened… by you…”
As if she was an oversized pupped guided by a magical puppet master her body raised to standing, all while Celestia gazed on bemusedly. Luna could see now that the mare actually had a dagger on her hip, and a scar along her left leg. This Celestia was not one to be toyed with, and her stance was one that was ready for a fight.
“I wouldn’t do this if I were you, Luna- it could be bad for your health,” she sneered, and one hand moved to that dagger.
Luna gathered all the strength that she had, and stepped forward.
With a loud but muffled snap the bone of her leg gave out, and the Nightmare screamed in profuse pain as she toppled forward on her belly. The sheer massive weight of her body had proved too much, and she writhed in pain on the ground. Screaming and huffing for breath as pain flowed through her she laid there pathetically, all while Celestia grinned, and then began laughing.
“You really are pathetic.” Celestia sneered and approached her sister. “Everything you have is mine, Luna, you might as well accept it… but perhaps I’ll be gentler to you than I was to my real sister. I hardly think your statue would even fit in the garden,” she teased, and raised Luna’s chin to gaze into her eyes.
“You, Luna, are no more than a cow…” she spoke, and her horn glowed while she spoke. “A simple dairy cow, and you’ve gotten far too fat. You’ll have to be exercised until you lose it all… and then maybe I’ll see if Celestia will take you back.”
Despite her internal anger, Luna was powerless to resist. With her magic sapped so much keeping her body barely alive Celestia’s mental manipulation was easier than it would be with even a foal. Soon she saw herself as a cow, and for centuries the throne was occupied by a red-dressed Celestia, with a slowly shrinking Nightmare Sow by her side. Celestia did eventually return, but Nightmare Moon was never seen again.
