The dead are not forgotten

I had finally found what I was looking for. The Alicorn Amulet. Using my banishment curse I managed to find the Alicorn Amulet in Canterlot castle.

Of course using the curse as a connection with the outside world was one thing using it to get something from the outside world was another story.

I focused all my magic in to the portal. I managed to grab it.

"Stop thief". Yelled Celestia.

"Who are thou and why is thou trying to steal the Alicorn Amulet". Yelled Luna.

I looked at the princesses and behind them was the ponies that killed my friend along with a crowd of probably all of Equestria.

"Answer and we will make thou's defeat quick". Luna yelled again.

"Well well well. If it isn't the pretty little princesses that freed me. I believe I owe you thanks so in return I'll make your death not as painful as I originally planned". I said in the darkest tone I could muster.

"You are mistaken. We would never free a monster like you". Yelled Celestia.

"Oh but you did by using the crystal heart you destroyed everything King Sombra worked for. I even made up a rhyme about it". I replied.

"When you killed sombra you broke the spell on me
That was supposed to last for all of eternity.
Sombra was corrupted by his efforts to save me, his friend
But sadly all good things must come to an end.
When you try to stop me don't hold your breath
Because I'm the Alicorn of DEATH"!!! I screamed as I revealed myself, stole the Alicorn Amulet and disappeared.

Twilight's P.O.V

Twilight turned to face the three other princesses who had looks of horror on their faces.

Then she heard the screams. She and her friends turned around to see panidimon. Discord will be enjoying this. Twilight thought as the princesses tried to calm down the crowd but where failing.

Princess Celestia order all the guards to make sure all the citizens where not hurt and were safely in the underground tunnels in case of an attack on Canterlot.

"Cadence go to the crystal empire quickly and try to find a way to find sombra dead or alive". Cadence nodded and started flying away.

"The rest of you go to Ponyville and get the Elements of Harmony, Luna and I will keep the residents of Equestria safe because until this new threat is gone until then Canterlot is going into a lockdown". Princess Celestia said gravely.

The Alicorn of death's P.O.V

I snickered as I saw ponies run in fear from what I'll do to them.

Ponies are still as easy to scare as one thousand years ago. I thought.

Then I looked at my prize. The Alicorn Amulet.

In truth I only stole the Alicorn Amulet to fill it with my power so no innocent ponies would die from my power.

The Alicorn Amulet was originally a device Sombra made in his quest to heal me but when he became corrupted he filled it with dark magic to get even more power.

But it stilled allowed me to put my excess magic inside. Now to break the curse.

In the past.

"Hey Sombra wait up". A gray unicorn called out.

"If I wait you'll catch up". A young looking Sombra replied.

They were racing to Somba's wing in the crystal palace.

As usual Sombra being the more athletic one won.

But as soon as they got to the room as Sombra lyed on the room's bed the gray unicorn saw a mysterious book on Sombra's desk.

"I see you're still researching magic". The gray unicorn gestured to the desk.

Sombra looked at the desk with a confused look and the look became more noticeable when he saw the book.

"What's that doing here"? Asked Sombra out loud.

The gray unicorn shared his look of confusion after this sentence was out in the open.

"I thought you were using that book to study more. Celestia knows you would like to". Said the gray unicorn with a hint guilt knowing he was keeping his friend from his interests.

"I haven't been researching magic that often since I met you and Winter lily. Personally I think the castle staff are relived".

Sombra covered his mussel knowing he just made his friend feel guilty.

"I'm sorry for wasting your time". The gray unicorn said sadly.

Sombra but a hoof on his friend's shoulder.

"You haven't wasted my time. Not once. Spending time with you and Winter is something I look forward to everyday. Never forget that". Sombra said comfortingly and hugged his friend.

"Thanks Sombra but I have to admit that I'm a bit curious about what's in that book". The gray unicorn said looking over Sombra's shoulder.

Sombra chuckled at his friend's curiosity which used to get him in trouble alot but with Sombra's sense he stopped getting in trouble. Well not all the time anyway.

The two colts started walking over to the book too bad they didn't notice the dark spirit wickedly smiling at them through the window.

Present day.

The Alicorn of death finally found the weak point of the banishment curse where it was cracking.

With one magic bean the curse broke taking him to the far north in the middle of a blizzard.

Well may as make the most of this the I thought.

I recalled a shadow transformation spell Sombra taught me when we were little.

I slunk away into the crystal empire. I stole a bouquet of flowers regretibly.

I may be a villain now but I promised myself this would be the last time I did petty theft.

I snuck into the crystal graveyard trying to find the gravestone I was looking for.

I looked at my mother's grave sadly. With a quick glance at the bouquet I smiled.

Her favourite. Lilies and violets. I placed them on her gravestone and kissed the top.

"I sorry I couldn't be there for you. You always liked Sombra the most out of my friends. Probably because he prevented me for getting in trouble and he was the first colt my age to get a marefriend".

I chuckled at that.

I heard the clatter of armour behind me trying to be stealthy but failing miserably.

"Come out I know you're there". I said annoyed.

About five crystal guards surrounded me with spears.

The Prince of love appeared before me with a confident smirk.

"For someone who I'm going to kill you look every happy". I said colder than the blizzard outside the crystal empire.

"Give it up". Said the Prince trying to sound as cold as me.

"Isn't it nice to reflect on the past and pay your respects to the fallen". I said turning smiling an actual smile before disappearing into smoke.

I slivered thought the shadows into Sombra's old secret library in the castle.

I rummaged through the study looking for the book at last I found it.

Of course this wouldn't help me perhaps ever decrease my magic.

I then cast a portal spell and appeared before the princesses and the crowd in the under ground tunnel in Canterlot.

"Hello everypony I'm talking to you to show you the next step in my plan". I said darkly.

"You see this book of dark magic? Well this is what made me into your pony killing Equestria dooming villain you see right in front of you". I said trying to make it sound like a good thing.

"When I destroy this book all of the entrapment magic will be destroyed and I will have my full power back". I said doing the evil laugh thing.

I threw the book up and zapped it with magic. Now all the dark magic inside was gone then I used a glowing spell to make it seam as I was overflowing with power.

"Bye bye. Stay tuned on how I'm going to soon you all". I said with an evil look in my eye.

In the frozen north

Suddenly the severed horn of King Sombra started to glow red. It was regenerating.
