Chapter 10
Previous ChapterNext ChapterShe was flying, then fire. She found herself floating in a sea of darkness, paralyzed. But soon, a wash of pastel colors filled her blurred vision, and she knew something was off about her body. Something was missing.
The strange bat pony found herself laying in a canvas bed, feeling numb and strange. She looked at herself from her hooves to her neck. Everything was there. But then she tried to fold her wings. Something was off. She looked to her right. Her wing was fine, folded neatly to her side. But when she looked to her left, she was shocked.
There was only a bandaged numb where her wing should have been.
She looked around wildly, scared and wondering where she was. There was no pony else in the huge canvas tent she was in. She got off the canvas cot and started to gallop around wildly. A sweet looking nurse pony popped her head in, and then trotted outside with a concerned look on her face.
Little did she know that she would put together one of the strongest weapons for this war.
Goldie Sugar came galloping into the tent and looked at the Bat pony in awe. She was the perfect weapon this war could. Powerful body, bright pink bat eyes, and powerful wings.
Well, now only one powerful wing… that was flinging around tables and cots and surgical equipment. Goldie's large golden ears went back as a scalpel few towards her. Time seemed to slow, and she closed her eyes.
But nothing hurt her.
She popped open her eyes and saw that the scalpel was suspended in the air, held up by Silver Scopes blue magic.
Goldie Sugar nodded at him and smiled. He put down the scalpel on a mayo stand and shot a blast of blue magic at the wild bat pony. As the blue magic hit the bat pony, it wrapped around her body and made her freeze, suspended in the air in an awkward position.
She tried to move, but she couldn’t. She found herself with a shocked expression as her quickened breathing slowed down. She looked around as much as she could, trying to find out where she was.
Goldie looked into the eyes of the crazed pony and saw something.
It was a look she knew. Panic. Fear.
Goldie nodded at Silver Scope to put her down, and the Bat Pony fell to the ground, shocked. Goldie smiled an almost mother-like smile.
“Hey,” Goldie Sugar said, gently, “what's your name?”
“A-Aurora.” The Bat Pony said, trying to snap out of her fear.
“It’s alright Aurora, you’re safe.” Goldie cooed.
“What happened to my wing? Where is it?” Aurora said, voice shaking.
“You… may of have your wing… shot off.” Goldie Sugar said, trying to hold back tears as she saw the horror and grief in Aurora’s neon pink eye’s. Aurora turned her face away and wiped away a tear that fell down her light purple face.
“I… I am so sorry…” Goldie said, wrapping her hooves around Aurora. Aurora was shocked by this hug, but she didn’t feel like pulling away.
“I… wow…” Aurora said after the quick embrace was done, “no one has ever done that to me…”
“Wait, really?” Goldie asked, confused.
“I’m a weapon,” Aurora said, turning her face around due to her shame. Goldie smiled softly.
“You are a pony, not a weapon,” Goldie said, lifting the bat ponies face with her hoof.
“Are you what they call… a friend?” Aurora asked, looking into Goldie's dark brown eyes.
“Well,” Goldie said, thinking, “I guess I am.”
