My Little Robot: Friendship Is Logic
It was dawn in the world of Roboquestria and Princess Prime raised the sun with her mysterious powers. Some claimed that it was magic but that would not compute to their mechanical minds.
Twilight Servo awoke from her slumber, if you could call it that. Being a robot of the highest quality, she did not need sleep; merely a period to recharge her batteries as did all the inhabitants of this world. As the sun rose and several robots stepped, rolled or hovered out of their homes, Twilight contemplated what would happen on this fine day.
She could not believe all the things she had seen since moving from Circuitlot with her trusty assistant 2P-1KE, who only communicated in beeps and whirrs. She had met her 5 best friends, battled against Nightvision Moon who then turned into Gort, Princess Prime’s mute sister (who seemed to only respond commands after the words “Klaatu Barato Nikto” were uttered. Norobot knew why), HALCORD 9000 who wanted to turn the world into eternal logic (who, after shutting down, displayed a message by some pink ape like creatures talking about a thing called a “Monolith”) and the attempted takeover of the Cybermen army.
“Beepwhirrzipbop?” 2P-1K3 asked, rolling closely behind her.
“No, we’re going to try out a new spell today.” The gumball machine robot replied to the cylindrical robot.
“BEEPBOOPBOPWHIRR!”
“All right, MAYBE we can stop at R3I-T0’s Boutique. But behave yourself! Remember what happened last time.”
“Beep…” 2P-1K3 said sheepfully, remembering himself being forced to model wires for five hours straight. On the other claw, R3I-T0 did give him a hug.
“HEY, TWILIGHT, YOUR MAIL’S HERE!” came a screechy yet feminine voice from the sky. Approximately 3.42 seconds later, a purple snake-like robot came crashing down next to her, putting a decently sized hole in the roof. It was Gypsy, the mailbot. Poor Gypsy, she tried so hard to deliver robot’s letters but was a little clumsy, resulting in many repair jobs. On the other hand, almost everyone in Roboville endured themselves to her and loved her no matter what she did. Gypsy handed Servo the letter by spitting it up from her mouth and shuffled away.
Twilight ripped open the letter and looked at the small pamphlet. "You want be Superman? You angry because robots confuse you with gun?" Twilight read with confusion. Upon closer inspection, it was little more then an advertisement for Iron Giant’s self-help seminars. Twilight sighed and tossed it away telepathically. Truth be told, she was hoping to get a letter from Princess Prime today…perhaps she could get one tomorrow…
After a short walk/hover, Twilight and 2P-1K3 arrived to a grassy area of town. Servo had to have great practice using her powers as her arms wouldn’t work. Today, she planned to use her powers to create a three piece suit on her assistant. As she began to concentrate, she felt a claw on her shoulder.
“Morning, Twilight Servo, morning! Is it not a perfectly perfect day out?! I had a hard time waking up Mr and Ms Deckard to get them up to begin serving customers! I do not see the logic in sleeping so late on such a lovely summer morning. It does not compute!”
Twilight knew who it was without even turning around. It was obviously P-9, the pink hyperactive robot that worked at RAM Chip Corner, serving up treats such as CPUs. P-9 always seemed to be full of energy despite her large size.
“Good morning, P-9. Are the others awake yet?”
“Rain-Crow Dash said she would be here at approximately 2.17 minutes. As for the rest, I do not know. Do you remember that one time when FLUTT-E and R3I-T0 got into a jealousy over modeling and you attempted to solve the situation? That was fun, almost as fun as the time I…what are you doing, Twilight?” P-9 said, her bubble dome of a head bobbing up and down in curiosity.
“Well…I’m trying to practice my magic.”
“Ooh! I will not speak further as I wish to see the outcome!” P-9 said as she rolled beside Twilight to get the best possible view.
“BEEPZIPWHIRRCLANG!”
“Yes, 2P-1K3, we’ll get back to work now.”
Twilight resumed concentrating on creating a three piece suit. After a few moments of straining, a small jacket appearing on 2P-1K3’s body. He beeped in excitement as P-9 clapped her red claws in amazement at Twilight’s ability. However, just as a pair of slender black pants were going to appear on 2P-1K3, P-9 waved her arms back and forth.
“DANGER! DANGER! AN UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT WILL LAND IN THE VICINITY! PROCEED WITH CAUTION, TWILIGHT SERVO!” P-9 warned. P-9 called this her sensors, that would supposingly warn robots of things that would happen before they did.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, a golden streak flew across the sky and crashed into the ground, accompanied by a loud scream of terror.
P-9 looked at Twilight with what would have been a smug expression on her face if she had one.
“Yes, P-9, I know…” Servo groaned. This was the third time this week that Rain-Crow Dash had interrupted her magical training. P-9 and Twilight went over to Rain-Crow who was muttering to herself about something or other.
“Are you all right, Rain-Crow?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, it happens all the time…hey, Twilight, what’s shaking?”
“Rain-Crow! I was working on my attempt at magical telepathy because my arms don’t work but you come and mess everything up!”
“Hey, I’ve got to practice if I want to be in the Wonderscrews. That Gigantor is so awesome… I’ve got to make sure I look my best when I want to join.”
“Boopbopwhirrwhirrzipclangzapbip. Whirr!” 2P-1K3 said as he wobbled back and forth in anger. He was getting exasperated at all this nonsense. He wanted his three piece suit and he was going to get it!
“That’s a great idea, 2P-1K3! You can both practice on different days. This way, neither of you will be interrupted by the presence of the other!” P-9’s sensors indicating that this was the correct answer.
“It’s a deal, but only if Twilight agrees to read my script of Roboquestria Vs Soup- Part Two! The Soupier Strikes Back.”
“Oh, Rain-Crow, not another one of your stupid scripts! I couldn’t take doing that ‘Spy Who Hugged Me’ nonsense…”
“I would be open for the part, Rain-Crow! May I play the waitress again? ‘You better wrap up because…BABY, IT’S COLD OUT THERE!’” P-9 excitingly said and took a pose.
“RAIN-CROW!” an angry deep masculine voice called out. The four robots turned to see The Gunslinger running towards them. Unlike most of the inhabitants, The Gunslinger was an android who came from a far away land called DELOS.
His silver eyes glared at the golden bird like robot who fearfully cringed at the thought of The Gunslinger using his rifle on her. The Gunslinger was known for having an extremely short temper and for being downright obsessive of his many guns. He had an entire arsenal of weapons at his barn, where he harvested bytes of RAM in his spare time.
“YOU WRECKED ALMOST 12% OF MY CROPS!” he screamed out, dropping a pile of now-worthless RAM on the ground. “THAT’S MONEY YOU’RE TAKING AWAY FROM ME!”
“I most certainly did NOT do that!” Rain-Crow defended herself.
“Oh, really? Then why did I see a gold coloured streak across the sky come and pull off my RAM?!”
“How would you see it anyway? You can only see heat!” P-9 joked.
“I’m not in the mood, P-9! Rain-Crow’s got to pay this time! Now, march!”
“But my practice…”
“I SAID ‘MARCH’, DAMN YOU!” Gunslinger yelled while cocking his shotgun at her. Rain-Crow reluctantly said goodbye to her friends as The Gunslinger pointed his rifle at her back.
“Just wait until I get to choose who lives and who dies…” Rain-Crow softly muttered as she walked away. A few seconds later, P-9 calculated that she was needed at work and so she said goodbye and rolled off back to RAM Chip Corner.
“Now, where were we?” Twilight said as she turned back to her assistant. Before she could get back to work, a thought entered her mind.
Were there other beings doing the same thing she was now?
