Even a princess has feelings

It was a few hours after the changelings have retreated from the palace. I was helping with the cleanup of the damaged place. There was a pile for the dead changelings where we carelessly threw them in. But when it came to guards we would gently pick the up and carry them to a straight line where they were side by side of each other. We did this for a few hours along with cleaning up the stained walls and floors. But when I got to the one guard that died to protect me I just stood over him. The sun was now as high as it could be but not as bright as it would be on a normal day. It was a miracle that the sun was even up considering what happened.

I couldn’t pick his dead body up. It was hard for me feeling the guilt I was in. Survivors guilt mainly. Shining armor and another guard picked up the guard and carried him away. I just let out a sigh as took out the necklace that he gave for me to give his wife farcry. After a few more minutes of carrying dead body after body of guards we finally had the room cleaned enough. Well enough was there was barely a stain on the wall. Now we had to get rid of the dead changelings. We already had a plan for the guards where we would bury them in a cemetery that was being made near the castle.

I walked out the throne room through the broken walls. I made my way to the chambers where tia and I shared. I walked in closing the door behind me and seeing tia sitting on her bed holding the blanket that Blackbell slept on. She was quietly sobbing her head slumped over. I just rushed over and sat down beside her wrapping my arms around her pulling her close. She just wrapped her forelegs around me holding me tightly to her while holding the blanket. She then began to talk between sobs.

“W-w-w-why did this h-h-h-have to happen to us?” She asked.

“I don’t know tia. But I know that I will do my best to find her and get her back for what happened. I promise that....” Then there was a knock on the door. I just let out a sigh as I pulled away from the hug. “Listen tia we have to be strong. We have to address equestria for what happened to her. We have to be as strong as we can ok?” I asked.

She just nodded wiping away her tears away from her eyes. Her eyes had small pink rings around them. She then quickly gave me a kiss. I knew she wanted it and needed it for what had happened to her. When she pulled away I just gave her a heart warming smile. Then with that we both got up from the bed and I went to the door as she flew out the window to address what had happened. It was hard really...but when I opened the doors to the chambers I saw shining armor with a small bag with something inside of it in his magical grasp.

“What’s in that?” I asked.

“30 Dog tags of the royal guards who lost their lives today. We have to address all of their family members of what happened.” I just let out a sigh as I took the bag.

“Lets get started.” I said. With that we were off to tell the loved ones about their dead family members. This was gonna be hell.
