//-------------------------------------------------------// Flowershy's Story: Book 1 -by twidashdiaperlover- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning As far back as I can remember, and from what my mother had told me, I was born on Hearts and Hooves Day. A present from my late father, Indigo Medley, who sadly passed away before I was born. It broke my mother's heart when he passed away, but it healed when she took care of me. Unfortunately for her, I was a pretty sick and weak little foal, things always going wrong with my body. But nevertheless, I soldiered on and fought flu bugs, and lots of other ailments. Around the time I had turned six, and had just started school in Cloudsdale, since I was a pegasus. For my birthday, that year, I got a present from mom that for the rest of my life, I would always cherish: a stuffed monkey that I had named Peanut. I loved him so much and would always play with him after school, and would talk to him whenever I felt the need to. When I opened the box that he came in. I just felt so happy and full of joy. "Oh, thank you mommy!" I had cried as I hugged Rosette, my mother. "I..I love him." "It was my pleasure, my beautiful Rose Petal..." she replied embracing me. Rose Petal was my pet name from mom. The back-story I was told was that, when my parents first met, my father was said to have been quite the romantic, so every date or so, because he loved my mother so much, he would spend quite the amount of money to buy flowers for her, and would serenade her with his fine singing and piano playing, and her favorite flowers were roses. Eventually, they did get married after about two and a half years of dating. It was after mom was four and a half months pregnant with me, that she found my father dead at home. He had apparently fought an intruder, who was my mother's abusive ex colt-friend; Steel Flame, trying to get her back so he could hurt her some more. But my father, as brave and courageous as he was, was overpowered by the unicorn and was suffocated by a magic spell, and suffered numerous cuts and scrapes to his body and was heavily beaten. Steel Flame got away with it, but as he ran from the house that my parents were living in, some pony who had witnessed the crime kept a mental note of it and reported it to the police. When my mother got home and saw my father, breathing within half an inch of his life. The medics were quick to arrive after the whistle blower called for them. "Rosette...I'lll...always..love..you.." My father said as he breathed his last and died. My mother then just sat down on the sofa and bawled her eyes out. The love of her life, gone, just like that. And then for the rest of mom's pregnancy with me, she was a depressed mare, who remained focus and carried on raising the result of the love that she and my father shared from their entire relationship. So when the time came for my mother to give birth to me, the only ponies by her side were her older sister, Gleaming Diamond who was always travelling Equestria as she was geologist, she lived in Manehatten and came to Ponyville when my mother was in labor with me. About a month after I was born, Gleaming Diamond went back home to Manehatten, and then onward to traveling the different caverns and caves of Equestria. Author's Note Chapter One of the Flowershy Chronicles. I hope you all enjoy it. Just as a precaution though, get some tissues. A huge thanks to FabulousDivaRarity for helping me and INSPIRING me to write this. I owe you a lot, my dearest and close friend. //-------------------------------------------------------// Life Can be Cruel, but Mom's my hero //-------------------------------------------------------// Life Can be Cruel, but Mom's my hero The night that Rosette, my mother died, It'll never leave me. I was ten years old at the time, and we had moved to Fillydelphia for me to continue my education there. I loved Fillydelphia, we lived in a nice sized house. But that fateful night, everything in my life changed and was flipped upside down. A dragon had been on the loose, and rampaging and ravaging the town, it had set fire to the home that Rosette and I lived in. She was quick to smell smoke from the burning building, she barreled her way into my room, grabbed me and Peanut and carried me out of the window. "Mom..my?" I was soon awakened as she tossed me into a nearby bush, to cushion the landing. "Flowershy, my dear rose petal..." My mother said, coughing and hacking, soot was all over her body, her wings and coat singed from the heat. I was soon wide awake as I saw my mother, feathers burnt off. collapsing onto the ground from smoke inhalation. "I want you to be a good girl, okay? and never forget how much I love you and that I will always love you." "No mommy..." I cried out, tears forming in my eyes "Don't leave me, mommy." But it was too late, my mother died, from smoke inhalation, and just like that, I was an orphan. My mother truly loved me by sacrificing her life to save mine. I realized that as I sobbed uncontrollably for days on end. As per my mother's request, her body was cremated and given to me. I put her urn in a special saddlebag and carried it with me where ever I went. The funeral had a few of her close friends, and Gleaming Diamond but she knew that the type of work she did, she couldn't take care of me, so I was put in an orphanage. At the orphanage, the director was a kind sympathetic mare, who understood completely what I was going through. But during meal times, I would starve myself at first, I just couldn't bear being alone without my mother, she meant everything to me. The other orphans living there tried to make friends with me, but it was no good. I would go to school each day, and try my best to do my work, but with ponies bullying me because I was an orphan, I felt like killing myself. I was even more depressed when my eleventh birthday came. While the director was nice enough to give me a small present, it just wasn't the same. Hearth's Warmings and birthdays weren't the same without Rosette. I contemplated on it for a long time and then came up with a plan: I was going to, one day, after school, go to the cliffs to end my life. "What's the point on living..." I told myself one night in the bed I had. "Mommy's gone, I never knew my daddy, my auntie's always busy with her dangerous job..." Taking a rope and putting it in the same saddle bag as I had Peanut, I carefully tied Peanut to my body and bound my wings to my back. I just didn't want to live anymore. So, I went to the cliffs and jumped off, hoping to hit the ground. "Goodbye cruel, cruel, world. you've taken away my happiness." I ended up surviving the ordeal, and was hospitalized due to the amount of self inflicted damage I did to myself. I ended up staying at the orphanage for the rest of my formative years, no pony seemed to have wanted to adopt me. I couldn't understand why that was though. "I just hope that my future will be better, but for now it looks bleak." I told myself as I went to sleep. Author's Note Chapter 2 focuses on the death of Rosette and, the aftermath's effect of becoming an orphan on Flowershy. This is the final part of Book 1. Book 2 will focus more on her finding love and starting a family. Contains starvation and suicidal thoughts, suicide attempt. Hence the suicide/self harm tag Again, thanks goes out to my friend FabulousDivaRarity for helping to inspire me to write these stories. https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiesmile.png
