I’m not sure what happened but I did get word that she is badly injured. I have to get to ponyville fast. I have to see her before it is to late. ======================================== I made it. I trot over to the desk and tell the pony there. “Hi i’m here to see Twilight Sparkle, The princess of Friendship!” She looks as me with suspicious eyes. “Friends or family only” “What! I am Twilight’s sister!” She glares “Don’t try to make me think your princess cadence” “I’m not Princess Cadence, I am Twilight’s sister!” “Twilight dosn’t have a sister, only a brother” A few tears fall down my face. Nobody recognizes me as the sister of Twilight Sparkle. I assume My brother and Cadence aren’t here yet, so I will have to wait until they get here. Everypony knows their related to Twilight. Heck! Even if Shining wasn’t related to Twilight he would still be known for two things. Being married to Cadence and being Captain of the royal guard. I hear hoof steps as I look up to see Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. I run up to my brother, and hug him, he hugs me back. He asks “Hi Midnight, why aren’t you in the room with Twilight?” I replied “They keep saying i’m A fan girl who wants to see her” My brother smiled at me. “Don’t worry I’ll get you in” ======================================== Me, Shining, and Cadence gallop into her room. We see all her friends croweded around her. I ask “What happened?” Rarity replied “I don’t know darling, that is what they are trying to find out, all they found was multiple stab wounds” A few tears roll down my cheek. I wanted to know, who did it and why? The ten of us watched looked at Twilight. (Yes 10 I assume you forgot about Spike or Flurry Heart or our main character for that matter) The tears where flowing freely now. A nurse walked in and said to us “Visiting hours are up, please go home” We all sighed and I said under my breath “I hope you are ok Twilight” I just realized I didn’t bring any bits and I can’t go all the way back to canterlot then come back here again. I walked up to my brother. “Shining, Cadence, where are you staying” Cadence sighed “Yes, you can stay with us” “Thank you guys, where are you staying anyway?” Shining Armor awkwardly said “Umm I don’t know?” Cadence chuckled “We are staying in Twilight’s castle, she said whenever we are in ponyville we could stay there” I would feel a bit uncomfortable staying in Twilight’s castle when she is in the hospital, but I have no where else to stay. ======================================== After we all found a room in the castle and put our stuff down we ate dinner. Of corse we didn’t eat Twilight’s food. Me, Cadence, and Shining all split the money. After that we went to bed. I was just laying there, thinking, about Twilight. Who would attack her and why. The doctors told us all they know. Pinkie and Twilight went to solve a friendship problem in Manehattan but when they came back Twilight was looking like she is now. The investigation starts tommorow. I’m pretty sure they are going to question Pinkie, but she wounldn’t have done it. Wait, would she? If she did, then, i’d Rather not think about it. No she didn’t do it. I need to calm down. One of Twilight’s friends would never do that. I heard the sounds of a baby crying, I assume it’s from Flurry Heart. Then I hear hoof steps probably Cadence or Shining armor. I then calm down, and finally fall asleep. ======================================== I jolt awake. From a nightmare. The second time tonight. The last one was if Twilight dosn’t make It out alive, and this one was if Pinkie was the one who attacked Twilight. Ugh, in the morning I should talk to Shining or Pinkie. Right now I have to get back to sleep. =========+============================== Finally, it’s morning. I knocked on the door Shining and Cadence shared. Cadence called out “Your brother went to the hospital to check on Twilight” I questioned “Why? It’s 6 in the morning” Cadence chuckled “He can be a little.. over protective of her” I giggled “Just like he is with me” Cadence stepped out, giggling. “And me” We both giggled. I kind of hated having an over protective brother AND sister. But we still had those moments. I giggled a little at the thought “How about we go check on her to?” I realized Cadence didn’t have Flurry Heart. “Hey Cadence, dose Shining have Flurry Heart?” Cadence looked back into the room “No, she is with Pinkie” I frowned “Wheren’t they going to question her about you know” Cadence nodded “That was pushed back a day” Then she chuckled “They sent royal guard to make sure she dosn’t “try anything”” I laughed out loud. “So they all think Pinkie did it?” By now i’ve Finally convinced myself Pinkie didn’t do it. Cadence smiled “Yup, she is starting to get pretty mad at them for following her everywhere, they told me they wheren’t even going to let her see Twilight until somepony proves it was somepony else” I felt bad for her, she is friends with everyone but when Twilight gets hurt and she is the only suspect they all turn on her. By now we where at the hospital. We rushed in. When we got into Twilight’s room we saw Shining there. Twilight was still there, but this time she was awake. Shining practically yelled “Twilight your awake!” Twilight weakly said “Wha-what happened, where am I?” Shining quickly explained “We are not sure what happened but Pinkie stabbed you when you where out solving a friendship problem and now your in the ponyville hospital” Cadence raised an eyebrow “You think Pinkie did it?” Shining replied “Well yea!” Twilight said almost to a yell “Pinkie stabbed me!?” I rolled my eyes “Of corse not, that is just what everyone thinks” Twilight’s eyes widened “Bring Pinkie in here NOW!” I sighed “Someone else go, nobody will belive me when I tell them that Twilight wanted to see Pinkie” Shining rushed out so fast I think he could have beaten Rainbow Dash in a race. Me and Cadence turned toward Twilight. She asked us. “Why dose everyone think Pinkie stabbed me?” Cadence sighed “You and Pinkie went to solve a friendship problem in Manehattan” Twilightt interrupted “Yeah, and after we solved it we had to stay an extra night, I remember falling asleep, but I don’t know what happened after that” I finished the story. “Then Pinkie brought you back here, that’s all we know, they are going to question Pinkie about what happened tommorow” Twilight sighed I could tell she was trying to ignore the pain, she was biting her lip. We all heard a bunch of hoof steps. Then we saw Pinkie who was surrounded by four royal guards. I assumed Shining stayed to take care of Flurry. Pinkie’s hair was deflated. On of the royal guards pushed her “Your victim wants to speak with you” Pinkie sighed “For the last time I didn’t hurt Twilight” The guard yelled at her “That is what they all say! Now go speak with her” Twilight and Pinkie exchanged glances. “Look, I don’t think it was you who stabbed me, but your the only person who was there, so I want to know what happened” Pinkie’s hair inflated slightly. “After we solved the friendship problem and went to bed I heard screams coming from your bed, I turned to my side to see what was happening but all I saw was a person in a black cloak stabbing you I got up to try and stop that person but then they turned to me, I saw their face but all I remember is that they flashed their horn and then I woke up on the floor next to your bed, but for some reason i can’t remember what that pony’s face looked like, come to think of it I can’t remember anything that happened that day” Twilight slowly nodded. I assumed she was just processing the information. I personally think this story is true, and the unicorn who did it put a sleep spell on her. Probably a spell that made her forget what happened to make sure she dosn’t tell anyone who tried to kill Twilight. And now that everypony is pressuring her into telling everypony what happened she is able to remember that specific moment. Twilight said something similar to that. The royal guard firmly said “She is still a suspect, but maybe we will get the element of honesty to fact check this story of yours” Cadence sighed and frowned “I have to go check on Shining and Flurry Heart” She ran out of the room. I walked closer to Twilight. “Do you know anypony who could have done it?” Twilight shook her head. “No all we know is that they are a unicorn and they must know pretty advanced magic” I smiled “Yea, not even I could put Pinkie to sleep” Twilight chuckled at this, and she knew I was pretty good at magic. “Me neither” We both chuckled at this. I felt my smile turn into a frown. “I’m sorry Twilight” She looked at me “What?” I said again “I’m sorry” “For what” I sighed “That this has to happen to you” She looked at me, with the most comforting eyes ever. “It’s not like you where in Manehattan or anything” I sighed “I was, I was there for business, I didn’t know you and Pinkie where in the same hotel as me until the next morning, and then i heard that you got stabbed there a few days after i just got home” Twilight looked at me “...” I looked into her eyes “I’m sorry I couldn’t help you, if I just got out of bed and ran up a few flights of stairs or called somepony you wouldn’t be in this mess right now, I’m sorry I let this happen to you” Twilight looked back into my eyes “It’s not everyday you and your sister are in the same hotel at the same time, you couldn’t have known” I sighed “I know, but I can’t help but think, if I just woke myself up I could have stopped that pony or called some other pony to stop them and then you and Pinkie wouldn’t be suffering” Twilight frowned “Did you stab me?” I was so confused, my sister was accusing me of trying to kill her. I replied with a quick “No! Of corse not” She chuckled “Then it’s not your fault” Oh she wasn’t she was just trying to get me into thinking it wasn’t my fault, I get it. I still feel like it’s my fault though. You know that tiny voice in the back of your head that tried to ruin your life. Well that voice keeps telling me “It’s your fault, it’s you fault, it’s your fault” and now I keep thinking that. At least I have a sister like Twilight who shit this voice up for a while. But I don’t think she can help me forever. Stop blaming PinkieI know I was blaming Pinkie before, but I’ve seen her and I can tell that she isn’t lying. Yet everyone who isn’t her friend or family thinks she did it. Except Rainbow Dash, I honestly have no idea why Rainbow thinks Pinkie did it. It makes no sense. Anyway, they started interrogating Pinkie. By they I mean the royal guard. Sure they seem useless but when there are things that don’t involve the entirety of Equestria for example this, attempted murder they act like... What are they called. Oh yeah they act like police officers. Pinkie hasn’t come out yet, I have no comparison to what she must feel like. On the bright side Twilight is getting better (sort of) I mean not really. But yeah you know. Things have been ok. They aren’t getting much better, but aren’t getting worse ether. When ever I’m walking around all I hear is people talking about what happened. Most of the time people are says stuff like “I wonder why Pinkie did it” Or “Pinkie Pie needs to pay for what she has done!” Every time I wanna yell at them “Stop blaming Pinkie!” But I can’t. I can’t just yell at random ponies. I was thinking of moving to ponyville. Right now i’m just going to be staying for a few months probably, most likely until Twilight gets better. ======================================== They finished interrogating Pinkie. They found her guilty, I don’t understand. I know she is not guilty, Twilight knows she isn’t guilty. For whatever reason Rainbow keeps believing this lie. Surprising honestly, the element of loyalty betraying one of her best friends. The saddest thing is that Shining armor is running this. He was the one interrogating Pinkie. Pinkie has to go to jail, Twilight still dosn’t know. That is what i’m most nervous about, what is Twilight going to say about that. We saw Pinkie being taken away, we waved our goodbyes. I don’t know if it is just me but I am determined to prove the royal guard wrong. Especially my brother who just betrayed us more than Rainbow did. I mean Rainbow thought that Pinkie did try to murder Twilight, that’s bad enough, but my own brother just sent Pinkie to jail. I didn’t hear how long, I don’t want to know. Shining wasn’t even done speaking and I ran away crying. Now just for Pinkie but for Twilight. If I just got up on that bucking night than Pinkie and Twilight woulnd’t Be suffering. I ran to the hospital and ran past the desk, I remembered what room Twilight was in at this point. They called security. I ran into Twilight’s room. The security got in. “Sorry ma’am but only friends and family are allowed to see her” Twilight almost yelled over them “She is my sister, now let her come in here” The security was taken aback by her harsh words. Twilight noticed the tears streaming down my cheeks. “What happened? Is Pinkie ok?” I sobbed but somehow I said the words. “They found her guilty, and sent her to jail, i’m Sorry i had to be the one to tell you this” Twilight’s face told me she was heartbroken. The tears dropped down. “W-why, why did some dumb royal guard memeber somehow find her guilty” I forgot to tell her the worst part. “Shining was the one who interrogated Pinkie” Twilight sobbed even harder. “Now I feel betrayed, by my own brother to” I sobbed “Me too” We both sat there crying for the loss of Our brother, and our friend. More Twilight’s friend than mine, but I mean come on Pinkie was EVERYPONY’S friend. Well I guess not anymore. I just don’t know why or how Shining Armor of all ponies would find her guilty, he knows Pinkie Pie, he knows she is probably the nicest pony ever. Ok maybe that was a little exaggerated but she would never try to murder somepony. Ugh I don’t know, I’ll ask Shining Armor in the morning. I just need to sleep, i’m so tired. ======================================== “Shining, how the buck did you find Pinkie guilty!?” His eyes thinned “I’ve gotten every little part of her story, and it dosn’t check out” “What part of it?” Shining slammed his hooves on the dining room table. “The part where Pinkie said that the unicorn doing it make her fall asleep and forget most of what happened with one flash of their horn” I rolled my eyes “There are multiple spells that do that tell me the real reason” He smiled deviously “That requires dark magic, only select ponies including only alicorns and their relatives” I rolled my eyes again. “What if the person who did do it broke into where they kept dark magic spells” “I keep more guards there than with the princess, her story dosn’t check out” “Shouldn’t you have just as many if not more with the princesses” “You know, even if the unicorn who Pinkie says did it some how got ahold of dark magic and did what Pinkie says they did then she probably would have some side effects, being exposed to dark magic and all” That- that is true! Just one problem is that they would need evidence that she did it and not some other pony. I still don’t think Pinkie did it. I get up from the table. “I will prove you wrong Shining, I will” Whatever, I will do whatever it takes to bring Pinkie back, as long as I get to be famous like my brother and sister, I-I mean help Twilight feel better and stuff. ======================================== “Twilight” I run into the hospital room, they’ve finally started letting me in without Shining or Cadence. “Yeah?” “If Pinkie’s story is true so you have any reason why Pinkie wouldn’t have side effects for being exposed to dark magic?” Twilight frowned “Why?” “Shining is trying to prove Pinkie’s story wrong, he is saying that she would have side effects for being exposed to dark magic, this makes sense but since your the magic expert I thought maybe you would know of any reason why she wouldn’t have side effects” Twilight looked at me. “I don’t know.....” I sighed “Well than I guess Pinkie’s story isn’t true” I looked over at Twilight and saw her eyes where wide and she was staring right at me. “Is every thing ok twilight?” “No, no, no, no, no” “Twilight! What’s wrong” She started hyperventilating “I just thought of a reason, but it would be very unlikely” I almost yelled “What is it!” “If an earth pony or Pegasus gets exposed too to much dark magic it came have worse effects than if a unicorn gets exposed to too much dark magic, this makes sense because they have nothing to manipulate magic with” “Ok, so?” “Sometimes if a Pegasus or Earth pony gets so much dark magic that it gets out of hoof, then the dark magic can take control of them and they can only be brought back to normal with the help of somepony else, of corse this can also happen to Unicorns or Alicorns but it takes a lot more magic” I frowned “Sooooo?” She frowned back. “Her story may not be true, but it may have not been her ether, it could have been dark magic taking over her body, and now she has no control” I thought about it for a moment. It seems possible, but we will have to prove it. I smiled weakly. “If that did happen how could we prove it” She frowned “There is a book in my library called “Dark magic and defenses” go to it and bring it back here” I nodded, whilst writing it down on a paper. I galloper faster than Rainbow Dash, or that is what I though until I saw her fly past me at least 10 times my speed. Nevertheless I got the book and sped back to the hospital. Out of breath I handed it to her. “Is that the right one?” Her horn wasn’t hurt so she easily picked it up and flipped through many pages. “Yes, now it is on page 47, after you master the spell come to me and we can think of a plan to get you to Pinkie” I knew mastering a spell could take days to weeks, I knew more spells than the average unicorn, but I wasn’t like Twilight where I could do a spell right by reading through it once. Dark Magic I tried doing the spell almost 100 times now. It’s draining the life out of me, but I have to do it, if I don’t it could cost us Equestria. I’m not even exaggerating, if some evil comes and the element of laughter isn’t there all of Equestria could be at risk. Just another reason why I need to do this spell. Nopony knows what i’m trying to do. Me and Twilight agreed to keep it a secret, not entirely sure why, but Twilight said it would be best, and I trust her. “Uhh” This is draining all my energy. I look on the floor for the the book. Wait, it’s not there. IT’S NOT THERE! Did Shining or Cadence or one of Twilight’s friends find it. I rush to the map room. My hooves make a clicking noise on the crystal floor. I get to the map room and to my surprise no one is there looking through the book. “MIDNIGHT!” I hear the voice of a stallion echo through the halls. I know exatly who it is. I’m pretty sure he is in the room him and Cadence are sharing together. I trot to that room and ask him “What Shining?” He frowns “I found your to-do list it says master the spell then come back to Twilight” I nod “Ok, so?” He stamps his hooves on the ground “What spell?!” He puts the book in front of me using his magic and says “Show me” I sigh and flip to page 47 “Here that is the spell, don’t ask me or Twilight why, and don’t tell anypony” He flips the book over to himself and reads through. “You can’t tell your big brother what to do and what not to do, if I want to get and awnser from one of you I will no matter what, even if I have to hurt you” “Was that a threat?!” He stops everything for a moment. “I guess it was, now tell me what this is for” He motioned his hooves toward the book. It’s all clear now, maybe, somehow he did it. It makes perfect sense, he could have gotten corrupted by dark magic. I know Shining, he would never threaten his own sisters. I hope somepony comes in here right now and sees what is going on, I could escape but if I did that would involve me hurting Shining. My tail brushed against the wall as Shining was slowly walking towards me. He looked like he was about to try and kill me. I have to do this. I held Shining with my magical grasp and he started making more threats. I try to do that dark magic spell just so I can be 100% sure that he is corrupted, but if he isn’t then, .... he needs some help. I put every last bit of magic I have into the spell. I’ts working, it’s working it’s Somepony yells “Ahhh What is going on here” Shining is completely oblivious to whoever just said that. He continued to make threats. I turn to see Spike. I let go of Shining and he grabs a knife from the kitchen and brings it here. Spike yells “Midnight what is happening!?” I yelled back, while making sure Shining dosn’t throw the knife at me or Spike. “I think Shining has been corrupted by dark magic, and I think he is the one who stabbed Twilight” Spike gasps “I’ll go get everypony else you distract him” I honestly wondered where Princess Cadence was and when did Shining get corrupted by dark magic? More importantly how? I’ll solve this later, but right now I need to not die. Remember that knife from before? He is aiming it at me. I tryed to overpower his magic and grab that knife but it’s not working. Spike please come back with everypony I could really use their help. I thought to myself. He is about to launch it. He pulled it back. He stopped it. He shot it” Yet somehow I don’t get hit. I look toward the door to see the mane six with the exception of Pinkie, Twilight, and Rainbow. Ok I can’t really consider them the mane six if there are only half of them. Wait a minute, where is Rainbow? Maybe she flew in front of me? I look over to the other side to see Rainbow with that knife stuck in her wing. I can’t help but feel like it is my fault. It kind of is, if I could have dodged it myself, or overpowered his magic, or attacked Shining, but instead I let Rainbow get hit in the wing with a knife. I yell to Spike, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity. “See if Rainbow is ok, I’ll make sure he dosn’t hurt anypony else” the four of them nod in unison and gallop over to Rainbow. I hold Shining with my horn and try to put a sleep spell. No wait. The dark magic. It’s getting to me. “Ahhhh!” It’s the dark magic. I, I can’t. It it’s too strong. ======================================== “W-where am I?” I look around realizing Nopony is there. I hear the sound of beeping heart monitors. I’m in the hospital for sure, but why. All I remember happening is... dark magic, that must be it. Then Twikight rushes in, WAIT Twilight rushes in. I must’ve been out for a while if Twilight is better. Twilight’s eyes go wide “So this is the secret they’ve been keeping” What is she talking about? “Umm what?” “Midnight, what happened I haven’t seen you since you left to practice that spell, which was months ago, I though you where just taking really long to learn it, but once I was let out of the hospital I tried to find you but saw some blood in the castle and when I asked everypony what happened they didn’t explain it and told me to go in here” I sighed “I don’t know what happened after I passed out but I can tell you what happened before” Twilight nodded. =================================== “And I tried to put a sleep spell on Shining but then I felt a ton of dark magic and passed out” Twilight sighed “Well speaking of dark magic I did that spell on Pinkie and she had none in her, but I proved that she wasn’t guilty so she is fine now, well I have to go, I still need to catch up on Princess work and all, bye!” I sighed “Twilight you are rambling, you need to calm down” Twilight sighed and opened the door, she heard her friend all arguing. “Well You guys should’ve told somepony else to do it, I risked my life and then you guys tell me to clean up the mess” “Rainbow is right y’all, we shouldn’t have dumped all the work on her” “Darling, Applejack you were the only pony who wanted Rainbow to do it” “No ah wanted Fluttershy to do it” “Well, um, I thought we agreed Rarity would do it” “Darling, I refuse to clean up a gory mess, Rainbow darling you should clean it up, it is your blood” “Girls, you all said you had no idea what happened in there, tell me now” Rainbow frowned “Hey, uh Twilight we don’t know” “Girls I know what happened, Midnight just told me. I want to know what happened after she passed out and why you didn’t want me to know about it” Rainbow yelled “Gotta fly!” And tried to fly away but Twilight grabbed her tail with magic and brought her back “All I need to know is what happened” “Darling you said Midnight just told you what happened” Rarity stated. Twilight rolled her eyes “You know what I mean, for the love of Celestia stop stalling” “Hello everypony! What are we stalling Twilight for?” They all jumped. “Ohh you want to jump, ok! I love to jump!” At this they all knew who it was. Pinkie Pie, the one and only. “Pinkie where in the name of Celestia did you. Come from” “I came from the rock farm silly” she tapped Twilight’s snout. “Pinkie, this isn’t the time, and also you have no reason to be here, we are talking about the reason why Midnight is in the hospital” “Ooooh I know all about that, wait it has something to do with that time when I was in jail, bye!” Pinkie’s mane flattened slightly and almost immediately inflated back up as she bounced away. Rainbow broke the silence “Sooooo over the years i’ve learned not to question Pinkie but that was confusing even for her” The other four all nodded in agreement. It’s not everyday Pinkie dose something so confusing even her best friends have to question it.

I walked up to my brother. “Shining, Cadence, where are you staying” Cadence sighed “Yes, you can stay with us” “Thank you guys, where are you staying anyway?” Shining Armor awkwardly said “Umm I don’t know?” Cadence chuckled “We are staying in Twilight’s castle, she said whenever we are in ponyville we could stay there” I would feel a bit uncomfortable staying in Twilight’s castle when she is in the hospital, but I have no where else to stay. ======================================== After we all found a room in the castle and put our stuff down we ate dinner. Of corse we didn’t eat Twilight’s food. Me, Cadence, and Shining all split the money. After that we went to bed. I was just laying there, thinking, about Twilight. Who would attack her and why. The doctors told us all they know. Pinkie and Twilight went to solve a friendship problem in Manehattan but when they came back Twilight was looking like she is now. The investigation starts tommorow. I’m pretty sure they are going to question Pinkie, but she wounldn’t have done it. Wait, would she? If she did, then, i’d Rather not think about it. No she didn’t do it. I need to calm down. One of Twilight’s friends would never do that. I heard the sounds of a baby crying, I assume it’s from Flurry Heart. Then I hear hoof steps probably Cadence or Shining armor. I then calm down, and finally fall asleep. ======================================== I jolt awake. From a nightmare. The second time tonight. The last one was if Twilight dosn’t make It out alive, and this one was if Pinkie was the one who attacked Twilight. Ugh, in the morning I should talk to Shining or Pinkie. Right now I have to get back to sleep. =========+============================== Finally, it’s morning. I knocked on the door Shining and Cadence shared. Cadence called out “Your brother went to the hospital to check on Twilight” I questioned “Why? It’s 6 in the morning” Cadence chuckled “He can be a little.. over protective of her” I giggled “Just like he is with me” Cadence stepped out, giggling. “And me” We both giggled. I kind of hated having an over protective brother AND sister. But we still had those moments. I giggled a little at the thought “How about we go check on her to?” I realized Cadence didn’t have Flurry Heart. “Hey Cadence, dose Shining have Flurry Heart?” Cadence looked back into the room “No, she is with Pinkie” I frowned “Wheren’t they going to question her about you know” Cadence nodded “That was pushed back a day” Then she chuckled “They sent royal guard to make sure she dosn’t “try anything”” I laughed out loud. “So they all think Pinkie did it?” By now i’ve Finally convinced myself Pinkie didn’t do it. Cadence smiled “Yup, she is starting to get pretty mad at them for following her everywhere, they told me they wheren’t even going to let her see Twilight until somepony proves it was somepony else” I felt bad for her, she is friends with everyone but when Twilight gets hurt and she is the only suspect they all turn on her. By now we where at the hospital. We rushed in. When we got into Twilight’s room we saw Shining there. Twilight was still there, but this time she was awake. Shining practically yelled “Twilight your awake!” Twilight weakly said “Wha-what happened, where am I?” Shining quickly explained “We are not sure what happened but Pinkie stabbed you when you where out solving a friendship problem and now your in the ponyville hospital” Cadence raised an eyebrow “You think Pinkie did it?” Shining replied “Well yea!” Twilight said almost to a yell “Pinkie stabbed me!?” I rolled my eyes “Of corse not, that is just what everyone thinks” Twilight’s eyes widened “Bring Pinkie in here NOW!” I sighed “Someone else go, nobody will belive me when I tell them that Twilight wanted to see Pinkie” Shining rushed out so fast I think he could have beaten Rainbow Dash in a race. Me and Cadence turned toward Twilight. She asked us. “Why dose everyone think Pinkie stabbed me?” Cadence sighed “You and Pinkie went to solve a friendship problem in Manehattan” Twilightt interrupted “Yeah, and after we solved it we had to stay an extra night, I remember falling asleep, but I don’t know what happened after that” I finished the story. “Then Pinkie brought you back here, that’s all we know, they are going to question Pinkie about what happened tommorow” Twilight sighed I could tell she was trying to ignore the pain, she was biting her lip. We all heard a bunch of hoof steps. Then we saw Pinkie who was surrounded by four royal guards. I assumed Shining stayed to take care of Flurry. Pinkie’s hair was deflated. On of the royal guards pushed her “Your victim wants to speak with you” Pinkie sighed “For the last time I didn’t hurt Twilight” The guard yelled at her “That is what they all say! Now go speak with her” Twilight and Pinkie exchanged glances. “Look, I don’t think it was you who stabbed me, but your the only person who was there, so I want to know what happened” Pinkie’s hair inflated slightly. “After we solved the friendship problem and went to bed I heard screams coming from your bed, I turned to my side to see what was happening but all I saw was a person in a black cloak stabbing you I got up to try and stop that person but then they turned to me, I saw their face but all I remember is that they flashed their horn and then I woke up on the floor next to your bed, but for some reason i can’t remember what that pony’s face looked like, come to think of it I can’t remember anything that happened that day” Twilight slowly nodded. I assumed she was just processing the information. I personally think this story is true, and the unicorn who did it put a sleep spell on her. Probably a spell that made her forget what happened to make sure she dosn’t tell anyone who tried to kill Twilight. And now that everypony is pressuring her into telling everypony what happened she is able to remember that specific moment. Twilight said something similar to that. The royal guard firmly said “She is still a suspect, but maybe we will get the element of honesty to fact check this story of yours” Cadence sighed and frowned “I have to go check on Shining and Flurry Heart” She ran out of the room. I walked closer to Twilight. “Do you know anypony who could have done it?” Twilight shook her head. “No all we know is that they are a unicorn and they must know pretty advanced magic” I smiled “Yea, not even I could put Pinkie to sleep” Twilight chuckled at this, and she knew I was pretty good at magic. “Me neither” We both chuckled at this. I felt my smile turn into a frown. “I’m sorry Twilight” She looked at me “What?” I said again “I’m sorry” “For what” I sighed “That this has to happen to you” She looked at me, with the most comforting eyes ever. “It’s not like you where in Manehattan or anything” I sighed “I was, I was there for business, I didn’t know you and Pinkie where in the same hotel as me until the next morning, and then i heard that you got stabbed there a few days after i just got home” Twilight looked at me “...” I looked into her eyes “I’m sorry I couldn’t help you, if I just got out of bed and ran up a few flights of stairs or called somepony you wouldn’t be in this mess right now, I’m sorry I let this happen to you” Twilight looked back into my eyes “It’s not everyday you and your sister are in the same hotel at the same time, you couldn’t have known” I sighed “I know, but I can’t help but think, if I just woke myself up I could have stopped that pony or called some other pony to stop them and then you and Pinkie wouldn’t be suffering” Twilight frowned “Did you stab me?” I was so confused, my sister was accusing me of trying to kill her. I replied with a quick “No! Of corse not” She chuckled “Then it’s not your fault” Oh she wasn’t she was just trying to get me into thinking it wasn’t my fault, I get it. I still feel like it’s my fault though. You know that tiny voice in the back of your head that tried to ruin your life. Well that voice keeps telling me “It’s your fault, it’s you fault, it’s your fault” and now I keep thinking that. At least I have a sister like Twilight who shit this voice up for a while. But I don’t think she can help me forever.
Stop blaming PinkieI know I was blaming Pinkie before, but I’ve seen her and I can tell that she isn’t lying. Yet everyone who isn’t her friend or family thinks she did it. Except Rainbow Dash, I honestly have no idea why Rainbow thinks Pinkie did it. It makes no sense. Anyway, they started interrogating Pinkie. By they I mean the royal guard. Sure they seem useless but when there are things that don’t involve the entirety of Equestria for example this, attempted murder they act like... What are they called. Oh yeah they act like police officers. Pinkie hasn’t come out yet, I have no comparison to what she must feel like. On the bright side Twilight is getting better (sort of) I mean not really. But yeah you know. Things have been ok. They aren’t getting much better, but aren’t getting worse ether. When ever I’m walking around all I hear is people talking about what happened. Most of the time people are says stuff like “I wonder why Pinkie did it” Or “Pinkie Pie needs to pay for what she has done!” Every time I wanna yell at them “Stop blaming Pinkie!” But I can’t. I can’t just yell at random ponies. I was thinking of moving to ponyville. Right now i’m just going to be staying for a few months probably, most likely until Twilight gets better. ======================================== They finished interrogating Pinkie. They found her guilty, I don’t understand. I know she is not guilty, Twilight knows she isn’t guilty. For whatever reason Rainbow keeps believing this lie. Surprising honestly, the element of loyalty betraying one of her best friends. The saddest thing is that Shining armor is running this. He was the one interrogating Pinkie. Pinkie has to go to jail, Twilight still dosn’t know. That is what i’m most nervous about, what is Twilight going to say about that. We saw Pinkie being taken away, we waved our goodbyes. I don’t know if it is just me but I am determined to prove the royal guard wrong. Especially my brother who just betrayed us more than Rainbow did. I mean Rainbow thought that Pinkie did try to murder Twilight, that’s bad enough, but my own brother just sent Pinkie to jail. I didn’t hear how long, I don’t want to know. Shining wasn’t even done speaking and I ran away crying. Now just for Pinkie but for Twilight. If I just got up on that bucking night than Pinkie and Twilight woulnd’t Be suffering. I ran to the hospital and ran past the desk, I remembered what room Twilight was in at this point. They called security. I ran into Twilight’s room. The security got in. “Sorry ma’am but only friends and family are allowed to see her” Twilight almost yelled over them “She is my sister, now let her come in here” The security was taken aback by her harsh words. Twilight noticed the tears streaming down my cheeks. “What happened? Is Pinkie ok?” I sobbed but somehow I said the words. “They found her guilty, and sent her to jail, i’m Sorry i had to be the one to tell you this” Twilight’s face told me she was heartbroken. The tears dropped down. “W-why, why did some dumb royal guard memeber somehow find her guilty” I forgot to tell her the worst part. “Shining was the one who interrogated Pinkie” Twilight sobbed even harder. “Now I feel betrayed, by my own brother to” I sobbed “Me too” We both sat there crying for the loss of Our brother, and our friend. More Twilight’s friend than mine, but I mean come on Pinkie was EVERYPONY’S friend. Well I guess not anymore. I just don’t know why or how Shining Armor of all ponies would find her guilty, he knows Pinkie Pie, he knows she is probably the nicest pony ever. Ok maybe that was a little exaggerated but she would never try to murder somepony. Ugh I don’t know, I’ll ask Shining Armor in the morning. I just need to sleep, i’m so tired. ======================================== “Shining, how the buck did you find Pinkie guilty!?” His eyes thinned “I’ve gotten every little part of her story, and it dosn’t check out” “What part of it?” Shining slammed his hooves on the dining room table. “The part where Pinkie said that the unicorn doing it make her fall asleep and forget most of what happened with one flash of their horn” I rolled my eyes “There are multiple spells that do that tell me the real reason” He smiled deviously “That requires dark magic, only select ponies including only alicorns and their relatives” I rolled my eyes again. “What if the person who did do it broke into where they kept dark magic spells” “I keep more guards there than with the princess, her story dosn’t check out” “Shouldn’t you have just as many if not more with the princesses” “You know, even if the unicorn who Pinkie says did it some how got ahold of dark magic and did what Pinkie says they did then she probably would have some side effects, being exposed to dark magic and all” That- that is true! Just one problem is that they would need evidence that she did it and not some other pony. I still don’t think Pinkie did it. I get up from the table. “I will prove you wrong Shining, I will” Whatever, I will do whatever it takes to bring Pinkie back, as long as I get to be famous like my brother and sister, I-I mean help Twilight feel better and stuff. ======================================== “Twilight” I run into the hospital room, they’ve finally started letting me in without Shining or Cadence. “Yeah?” “If Pinkie’s story is true so you have any reason why Pinkie wouldn’t have side effects for being exposed to dark magic?” Twilight frowned “Why?” “Shining is trying to prove Pinkie’s story wrong, he is saying that she would have side effects for being exposed to dark magic, this makes sense but since your the magic expert I thought maybe you would know of any reason why she wouldn’t have side effects” Twilight looked at me. “I don’t know.....” I sighed “Well than I guess Pinkie’s story isn’t true” I looked over at Twilight and saw her eyes where wide and she was staring right at me. “Is every thing ok twilight?” “No, no, no, no, no” “Twilight! What’s wrong” She started hyperventilating “I just thought of a reason, but it would be very unlikely” I almost yelled “What is it!” “If an earth pony or Pegasus gets exposed too to much dark magic it came have worse effects than if a unicorn gets exposed to too much dark magic, this makes sense because they have nothing to manipulate magic with” “Ok, so?” “Sometimes if a Pegasus or Earth pony gets so much dark magic that it gets out of hoof, then the dark magic can take control of them and they can only be brought back to normal with the help of somepony else, of corse this can also happen to Unicorns or Alicorns but it takes a lot more magic” I frowned “Sooooo?” She frowned back. “Her story may not be true, but it may have not been her ether, it could have been dark magic taking over her body, and now she has no control” I thought about it for a moment. It seems possible, but we will have to prove it. I smiled weakly. “If that did happen how could we prove it” She frowned “There is a book in my library called “Dark magic and defenses” go to it and bring it back here” I nodded, whilst writing it down on a paper. I galloper faster than Rainbow Dash, or that is what I though until I saw her fly past me at least 10 times my speed. Nevertheless I got the book and sped back to the hospital. Out of breath I handed it to her. “Is that the right one?” Her horn wasn’t hurt so she easily picked it up and flipped through many pages. “Yes, now it is on page 47, after you master the spell come to me and we can think of a plan to get you to Pinkie” I knew mastering a spell could take days to weeks, I knew more spells than the average unicorn, but I wasn’t like Twilight where I could do a spell right by reading through it once. Dark MagicAuthor's Note Tell me what you think about this chapter. That’s all! Dark Magic I tried doing the spell almost 100 times now. It’s draining the life out of me, but I have to do it, if I don’t it could cost us Equestria. I’m not even exaggerating, if some evil comes and the element of laughter isn’t there all of Equestria could be at risk. Just another reason why I need to do this spell. Nopony knows what i’m trying to do. Me and Twilight agreed to keep it a secret, not entirely sure why, but Twilight said it would be best, and I trust her. “Uhh” This is draining all my energy. I can’t even hold this book up anymore. I’m going to sleep before my horn falls off. ======================================== “Ok should I try this again?” I look around at the crystals that surround me. I look on the floor for the the book. Wait, it’s not there. IT’S NOT THERE! Did Shining or Cadence or one of Twilight’s friends find it. I rush to the map room. My hooves make a clicking noise on the crystal floor. I get to the map room and to my surprise no one is there looking through the book. “MIDNIGHT!” I hear the voice of a stallion echo through the halls. I know exatly who it is. I’m pretty sure he is in the room him and Cadence are sharing together. I trot to that room and ask him “What Shining?” He frowns “I found your to-do list it says master the spell then come back to Twilight” I nod “Ok, so?” He stamps his hooves on the ground “What spell?!” He puts the book in front of me using his magic and says “Show me” I sigh and flip to page 47 “Here that is the spell, don’t ask me or Twilight why, and don’t tell anypony” He flips the book over to himself and reads through. “You can’t tell your big brother what to do and what not to do, if I want to get and awnser from one of you I will no matter what, even if I have to hurt you” “Was that a threat?!” He stops everything for a moment. “I guess it was, now tell me what this is for” He motioned his hooves toward the book. It’s all clear now, maybe, somehow he did it. It makes perfect sense, he could have gotten corrupted by dark magic. I know Shining, he would never threaten his own sisters. I hope somepony comes in here right now and sees what is going on, I could escape but if I did that would involve me hurting Shining. My tail brushed against the wall as Shining was slowly walking towards me. He looked like he was about to try and kill me. I have to do this. I held Shining with my magical grasp and he started making more threats. I try to do that dark magic spell just so I can be 100% sure that he is corrupted, but if he isn’t then, .... he needs some help. I put every last bit of magic I have into the spell. I’ts working, it’s working it’s Somepony yells “Ahhh What is going on here” Shining is completely oblivious to whoever just said that. He continued to make threats. I turn to see Spike. I let go of Shining and he grabs a knife from the kitchen and brings it here. Spike yells “Midnight what is happening!?” I yelled back, while making sure Shining dosn’t throw the knife at me or Spike. “I think Shining has been corrupted by dark magic, and I think he is the one who stabbed Twilight” Spike gasps “I’ll go get everypony else you distract him” I honestly wondered where Princess Cadence was and when did Shining get corrupted by dark magic? More importantly how? I’ll solve this later, but right now I need to not die. Remember that knife from before? He is aiming it at me. I tryed to overpower his magic and grab that knife but it’s not working. Spike please come back with everypony I could really use their help. I thought to myself. He is about to launch it. He pulled it back. He stopped it. He shot it” Yet somehow I don’t get hit. I look toward the door to see the mane six with the exception of Pinkie, Twilight, and Rainbow. Ok I can’t really consider them the mane six if there are only half of them. Wait a minute, where is Rainbow? Maybe she flew in front of me? I look over to the other side to see Rainbow with that knife stuck in her wing. I can’t help but feel like it is my fault. It kind of is, if I could have dodged it myself, or overpowered his magic, or attacked Shining, but instead I let Rainbow get hit in the wing with a knife. I yell to Spike, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity. “See if Rainbow is ok, I’ll make sure he dosn’t hurt anypony else” the four of them nod in unison and gallop over to Rainbow. I hold Shining with my horn and try to put a sleep spell. No wait. The dark magic. It’s getting to me. “Ahhhh!” It’s the dark magic. I, I can’t. It it’s too strong. ======================================== “W-where am I?” I look around realizing Nopony is there. I hear the sound of beeping heart monitors. I’m in the hospital for sure, but why. All I remember happening is... dark magic, that must be it. Then Twikight rushes in, WAIT Twilight rushes in. I must’ve been out for a while if Twilight is better. Twilight’s eyes go wide “So this is the secret they’ve been keeping” What is she talking about? “Umm what?” “Midnight, what happened I haven’t seen you since you left to practice that spell, which was months ago, I though you where just taking really long to learn it, but once I was let out of the hospital I tried to find you but saw some blood in the castle and when I asked everypony what happened they didn’t explain it and told me to go in here” I sighed “I don’t know what happened after I passed out but I can tell you what happened before” Twilight nodded. =================================== “And I tried to put a sleep spell on Shining but then I felt a ton of dark magic and passed out” Twilight sighed “Well speaking of dark magic I did that spell on Pinkie and she had none in her, but I proved that she wasn’t guilty so she is fine now, well I have to go, I still need to catch up on Princess work and all, bye!” I sighed “Twilight you are rambling, you need to calm down” Twilight sighed and opened the door, she heard her friend all arguing. “Well You guys should’ve told somepony else to do it, I risked my life and then you guys tell me to clean up the mess” “Rainbow is right y’all, we shouldn’t have dumped all the work on her” “Darling, Applejack you were the only pony who wanted Rainbow to do it” “No ah wanted Fluttershy to do it” “Well, um, I thought we agreed Rarity would do it” “Darling, I refuse to clean up a gory mess, Rainbow darling you should clean it up, it is your blood” “Girls, you all said you had no idea what happened in there, tell me now” Rainbow frowned “Hey, uh Twilight we don’t know” “Girls I know what happened, Midnight just told me. I want to know what happened after she passed out and why you didn’t want me to know about it” Rainbow yelled “Gotta fly!” And tried to fly away but Twilight grabbed her tail with magic and brought her back “All I need to know is what happened” “Darling you said Midnight just told you what happened” Rarity stated. Twilight rolled her eyes “You know what I mean, for the love of Celestia stop stalling” “Hello everypony! What are we stalling Twilight for?” They all jumped. “Ohh you want to jump, ok! I love to jump!” At this they all knew who it was. Pinkie Pie, the one and only. “Pinkie where in the name of Celestia did you. Come from” “I came from the rock farm silly” she tapped Twilight’s snout. “Pinkie, this isn’t the time, and also you have no reason to be here, we are talking about the reason why Midnight is in the hospital” “Ooooh I know all about that, wait it has something to do with that time when I was in jail, bye!” Pinkie’s mane flattened slightly and almost immediately inflated back up as she bounced away. The other five watched her bounce away then turned back to each other. Exchanging confused glances wondering why she might have known about what happened. Rainbow broke the silence “Sooooo over the years i’ve learned not to question Pinkie but that was confusing even for her” The other four all nodded in agreement. It’s not everyday Pinkie dose something so confusing even her best friends have to question it.
