I know it’s short, but I plan in doing a lot more with this. Hope you enjoy.
Prologue
The sky’s darkened as something began to emerge out of the Pacific Ocean near the Golden Gate Bridge causing those who remained in the area to flee in fear and terror at the unsightly creature that was rising from the ocean. It was a large monster that is said to reside in the pacific or roam around it. Now, people know that it is true based on the enormous Goliath emerging from the ocean. It lifted its head skywards before opening its mouth to expose its rows of razor sharp teeth and let out an unholy screech that pierced the eardrums of everyone in the world. The creature lowered its head and stared at a lone apathetic seventeen year old on the bridge with its pitch black eyes.
The seventeen year old stared blankly at the creature because he has seen worse since the creature’s cult sent horrible, suffering amalgamations after him. Underneath his cold demeanor was a burning rage that threatened to breakout as the teen stares at the corpse of the cult leader he recently killed, but not fast enough as the cult leader unleashed the horrors of Leviathan before his death. There was a familiar, only to the Leviathan and the teen, golden blade buried deep within the cultist’s chest that was stained with the cult leader’s own blood as the golden blade was plunged deep into his chest to the point where only a foot of the sword could be visible.
The teen slowly reached over and grabbed the blade’s handle before yanking it out of the ground in one swift movement that was unhindered despite it being plunged through bone and concrete that was once it’s momentary prison. The teen wore a black leather jacket with the pockets and zipper area lined with white lines to clearly see the opening and pockets of the jacket. The design was of two Phoenixes facing each other while rising from the ashes and their wings flared; their beaks just centimeters apart but forever frozen as a design. Underneath the jacket was a plain white shirt that would occasionally poke out from underneath the jacket when the wind blew into his face sense he kept his jacket unzipped. Lastly, he had plain jeans that were a dark blue that matched the clothing extremely well as well as his black sneakers that had a small coat of blood staining the bottom of them. Around his left hand was crackling electricity while his hands were clinched shut in frustration and anger while letting the smallest appearance of hatred show before reaching down to grab the assault rifle the crazy cult leader used against him.
On the back of the teen was a black cat with two tails and gray eyes that was glaring at the abomination in front of them. The cat felt a pang of sadness hit him after seeing the creature that sent his monsters into his realm and took his home. The small cat can still see the faces of his parents as they put him in stasis before sealing him in the gateway between Earth and The Aether until his medium was born. Suffice to say, he was long awaiting his tormentors suffering and agony by the hands of the teen for revenge.
The bridge was littered with walls of vegetation and somewhat abandoned cars that vary few hid in for safety after the battle began against the cult. The corpses of woman, children and men lay dead on the ground as sacrifices for the large creature that recently emerged from the great depths of the Pacific. Their expressions ranged from terrified to pain as they spent their last moments in agony by the cults own hand.
The large eldritch abomination took long strides to its intended target as the bridge shook with every mighty step the colossal monster took. It reached the large bridge before it raised its massive hand before bringing it down next to the teen with enough force to cause a shock wave to ripple the water causing a tsunami to destroyed Alcatraz Island and many buildings at the coast. The teen used the opportunity to jump onto the monsters hand and impale it with his blade to keep himself from falling as the bridge collapsed and all those who hid in their cars drowned in the waters below.
The rifle the teen held was slung across his back as he scaled the monster’s hand with amazing speed to the point where his cat companion was having trouble staying on his back. The teen scaled the large monster’s arm until it lifted its arm to a horizontal position which the teen used to his advantage as he ran as fast as he could towards his goal.
He didn’t make it far as a large hand snatched him up in the hand’s strong grip. He struggled in the hands grip as the giant hand began to squeeze him as bones popped and cracked. He screamed in pain as his ribs punctured his lungs causing him to begin to cough up blood like a water fall. He failed to notice through his pain that he was lifted high into the air and thrown to the waters below.
He felt his body plunge through something, but it wasn’t water as he sped through whatever he was in. His breathing faster and faster as time went on, but his anticipation grew along with his dread once his body stopped accelerating and maintained his maximum velocity. Each one of his breaths were even more painful than the last once the adrenaline began to leave his body.
For the first time in years, he felt helpless and weak. Like all his time building up his strength was for nothing, but to humor those who wished the world to end. His eyes began to darken once his blood loss got the best of him.
He couldn’t hear his spirit telling at him to hang on as it’s tears soaked his shirt until his back hit a stone like surface. His body fell from a great height before a pink blob plucked him from the sky as he fell. The last thing he saw was his saviors face which had horse like features except it had larger, more expressive eyes along with a shorter muzzle. Unconsciousness followed swiftly after as the last thing he heard and felt was Excalibur falling from his grip and into stone. For the first time in a while, he smiled as he couldn’t help but remember what started Arthur’s journey through many battles and conflicts. The sword in the stone.
