.
It was a rather quiet night in Ponyville, most of the residents had already gone to sleep. However Fluttershy had other ideas than to sleep tonight. For a long time she disliked herself, for her timidness and inability to fly.
After a 20 minute struggle in tears she decided to end it all tonight, after feeding her animals for the night, she wrote a note for all her friends to find after she did the deed, and proceeded to tie a rope around her wings, to prevent her from changing her mind in the process.
With her wings now immobile, she stepped on a wooden stool and placed her neck through a noose she had previously set up. Fluttershy pulled the noose tight, this was it, she was finally gonna do something right. She took a deep breath and kicked the stool.
Meanwhile outside Fluttershy's cottage some of her birds could see through the window, and were horrified to see the yellow pegasus gasping for breath as she flailed around, one of the red birds quickly flew up into the sky knowing what to do.
Rainbow dash was long asleep, snoring away in her cloud mansion she was quite enjoying her dream, Rainbow was dreaming about the Wonderbolts of course. However her dream was cut short by some irritating tapping sounds at her window.
"Ugh what is that sound!" Rainbow was not happy being woken up at this hour.
She quickly released there was one of Fluttershy's birds at the window and they looked very frantic, she opened the window and the bird signalled at Dash to follow them. The bird pointed towards Fluttershy's cottage.
"You want me to go to Fluttershy's?"
The bird nodded.
"Does she need help?"
The bird nodded again.
And without a moment more to waste Dash had disappeared leaving a rainbow trail behind.
When Dash arrived at the cottage in a mere 20 seconds she opened the door and shouted "Fluttershy!"
No response.
Not being able to find her downstairs she quickly made her way to the upper floor, the door to Fluttershy's room was closed, Dash had a bad feeling about this, she stepped towards the door and asked again. "Fluttershy?"
No response again.
She pushed open the door. The moment Dash saw what was in the room she almost fainted, and tears started streaming down her face.
In the centre of Fluttershy's room was the buttery Pegasus, hanging by the neck lifeless. Rainbow immediately flew down to the kitchen telling herself. "This is just a dream," repeatedly, she picked up the biggest knife she could find, almost the length of her entire wing. Dash hurried back up to Fluttershy's room and cut her best friend down from the rope.
Dash was audibly crying now, how could her closest friend from flight school do this? Even though she didn't know how to she attempted to perform CPR on Fluttershy's chest, Rainbow leaned over and began to blow air into Fluttershy's mouth.
"PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME!" She begged, and started to push down on her friends chest, one push after another the situation began to look more and more hopeless.
"Please, wake up," Dash quietly uttered as she began sobbing. Completely distraught and lost of hope Rainbow cried without control, she had to get Fluttershy to the hospital, using all the energy she had, Rainbow lifted Fluttershy's body and placed her over her shoulder.
Without a moments notice the rainbow maned mare was speeding towards Ponyville hospital. Upon arriving she burst threw the door startling the nurse at the reception.
"Please, my friend isn't breathing and she needs help!" The nurse hearing the desperation in Rainbow's voice immediately called out. "I NEED A DOCTOR HERE RIGHT AWAY."
Two ponies, a stallion and a mare entered the room, both dressed in medical uniforms and they rushed over to Fluttershy who was still not breathing.
"Please, doctor you need to help her *sniff* this can't happen!" The more Dash spoke the more tears came running down her face.
"We will do what we can miss." One of the stallions reassured Dash.
"What happened to her? Asked the pony at the reception.
"She... She hung herself," as Rainbow said this she burst into another set of tears, the image she saw of Fluttershy was engraved in her mind. A strong silence filled the room as the realisation came to what this poor cyan mare had just seen.
The two ponies lifted Fluttershy onto a stretcher and wheeled her somewhere further into the hospital. Dash started to go follow them but was stopped by a blue nurse pony who told her that she wasn't allowed to disturb the doctors at work, and that she was gonna have to wait outside.
Rainbow sat down in the waiting room and began thinking about what happened. Dash was never one to be sappy or cry over things, but this was simply too much for her to handle, she had never told the shy pony that she had admired her for years since the two met. Minutes felt like hours, and Dash simply waited, hoping for the hospital ponies to save her friends life.
After 3 long painful hours a doctor stepped outside into the waiting room and began to speak to Rainbow. "Miss Dash, we have good news, and bad news." Dash didn't say anything.
"The good news is we were able to keep your friend alive. However, she is in a coma and it is not certain whether she will ever wake up, you can come see her now if you want." It wasn't what Rainbow wanted to hear, but she thought to herself that Fluttershy will be fine.
Dash followed the doctor into one of the patient rooms, it was a small room housing only 2 patients, she knew this room well, as it was usually the one that she would stay in after all of her flying mishaps. Upon entering the room she immediately could see Fluttershy, hooked up to a machine of some sort, which was emitting a constant beeping sound, her body was lifeless yet her heart was beating.
"I'll leave you two alone." The doctor said before quickly leaving the room.
"Oh Fluttershy, what did you do." Dash said as she attempted to hug the pegasus, tears once again began to fall and the tearful mare curled up next to Fluttershy, crying herself to sleep.
The following morning Dash was woken up by one of the nurses working at the hospital, who requested that she doesn't disturb the patient, who is in this case Fluttershy, who still showed no sign of recovery. Dash sighed, she needed to tell the rest of the girls what happened, and she didn't look forward to doing so.
So slowly Dash left the hospital and made her way towards Twilight's castle, she would be the best pony to tell first since Twilight always knows what to do. She landed at the door and knocked, not the usual loud entry she would give to the castle. After several seconds the door swung open.
"Oh hello Dash, what brings you here today?" Twilight spoke with a smile.
"Uh, Twilight I need to talk to you about something serious that happened last night."
"Oh, uh ok, come inside first." The purple alicorb replied and signalled for Rainbow to come inside.
"So what happened?" Twilight asked curiously.
"I don't really want to talk about it, but Fluttershy is in the hospital."
"Oh..." Both ponies grew silent for 30 seconds.
"She's in a coma, and doctors don't know whether she will wake up." Rainbow said this holding back tears, it was an incredibly sensitive topic for her after what she experienced the previous night.
"H... How is she in a coma, what happened?" Twilight shouted, almost sounding angry.
"Fluttershy, she... She tried to take her own life Twilight." And with that said Dash couldn't handle it anymore and broke down mentally.
Twilight didn't know what to say, she was left speechless. That was the last thing she expected to hear today. Twilight moved in to hug Rainbow who was now crying uncontrollably. "Shhhhhhh, it'll be okay Rainbow," she said while stroking Dash's mane. It took several minutes but she managed to calm the pegasus down.
"Thanks Twilight I needed that." Rainbow said while rubbing her teary eyes.
"I'm going to tell the rest of our friends to meet at the hospital, and we will go there now." Twilight stated while grabbing her quill.
"Okay."
When she finished writing the letters she quickly used a spell to make all of them disappear, they were transported to the houses of all of their respective friends.
"Come on Dash let's go." Twilight opened the door and flew a few meters off the ground, with Rainbow caching up to her almost instantly. They both made their way towards Ponyville hospital. When they arrived the pony at the reception immediately recognised Rainbow and let the two ponies through.
"She's in this room." Rainbow said solemnly.
"Okay." Twilight replied.
"Are you sure you want to see this?" Rainbow asked, she didn't want Twilight to see her friend like this, its hard to take in such a sight.
"I'm sure." Upon saying this, Rainbow pushed the door open and walked inside, Soon Twilight saw Fluttershy's unconscious body.
"I... I can't believe she... She would..."
"I know, it hurts." Rainbow cut Twilight off. Both ponies just looked at Fluttershy, they were interrupted when a nurse entered the room and spoke "Excuse me Miss Twilight." Twilight turned around and replied.
"Yes?"
"There is a group of ponies outside that would like to see you." Twilight was surprised that her friends could make it here so fast.
"Stay here Rainbow, I'll tell the rest of our friends."
"Okay." Rainbow replied nodding her head. After this Twilight stepped out of the room.
In the waiting room were Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie, Applejack looked really distressed.
"Twilight, ah got here as fast as ah could, what in tarnation happened to Fluttershy?" Applejack quickly spoke.
"When we heard Fluttershy was in the hospital we got incredibly worried, what could have possibly happened?" Rarity enquired. Pinkie looked too shocked to say anything, she wasn't taking this very well.
"Look girls, we don't know right now, Fluttershy is in a coma and the doctors don't know if she will wake up, it's not looking too good." Twilight said in a serious tone. When Pinkie heard this her mane deflated from its usually poofy state and she looked like she was about to cry.
"Oh dear..." Was all that Rarity could say.
"What happened tah her!" Applejack demanded.
"Fluttershy tried to take her own life." All four ponies stayed silent after this.
After a while Twilight broke the silence. "You girls can go see her in the room if you want." Twilight turned around and started walking down the corridor to Fluttershy's room, the three ponies followed quickly behind.
Twilight pushes the door open and in the room was Rainbow still at the yellow pegasus's bedside, mumbling to herself. The rest of the mane six had a mixture of shock and sadness to see Fluttershy like this, they were used to visiting Dash in the hospital after her "accidental" mishaps, but seeing Fluttershy there was different, and it made everyone there uneasy.
"Twilight, when is Fluttershy gonna wake up?" Pinkie asked, Twilight hadn't ever seen Pinkie so sad before.
"I... I dont know..." Twilight trailed off, almost ashamed of not giving Pinkie Pie the answer she wanted to hear. Rainbow was still mumbling to herself taking no notice of the rest of her friends.
Not much happened for the rest of the day. All of Fluttershy's friends had left to go home except for Rainbow Dash, who was still sitting by her side. She had not eaten much, nor did she want to. Another day went by and there were no signs of Flutters waking. Rainbow curled up next to her friend to sleep again, and slowly drifted off.
Fluttershy opened her eyes, and began scanning the room. "Where am I?" She thought to herself, she was in a hospital bed, huh, how did she get there. And then the previous memories returned to her and she realised. "Oh no..." The worst possible thing had happened. She wasn't dead! There was something holding her side, so she turned to look at it. There was Rainbow Dash, presumably asleep as she had her eyes closed and the bed sheets were dampened underneath her eyes.
Then suddenly Rainbow opened her eyes. Both ponies just looked at each other, Fluttershy felt fear, she couldn't stand to see her friends after what she had done. After a couple of seconds Rainbow leapt forward and hugged Fluttershy. The two stayed like that for a few minutes, Fluttershy's coat was soaked with Dash's tears.
"Fluttershy why? Why didn't you say anything? We could have helped!" Fluttershy didn't respond, she was still in shock. Hundreds of thoughts were going through her mind, did Dash find her like that?
"I...I'm sorry." Fluttershy mumbled quietly, she then broke down into tears. "I'm so, so sorry."
"Shhhh, it's okay, I forgive you." Dash just hugged Fluttershy tightly. "Just promise me you won't ever do something like that again." Fluttershy didn't respond.
"Pinkie promise me Fluttershy, please." Rainbow looked at Fluttershy with big, cute eyes.
"Okay, I promise." She said solemnly.
"Pinkie promise?"
"*sigh* Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Fluttershy said with a slight smile. It was such a silly concept yet it seemed everyone uses pinkie promises.
"Um... Dash?" The buttery pegasus asked.
"Yeah?"
"So... Um... H...how did you find me?" She didn't really like asking this question. It scared her to think that Rainbow could have found her after she passed out. Nobody deserves to see that.
Rainbow froze when asked this question. "I...I...I found you in your room. She teared up even thinking about those events again.
"I'm sorry Dash, i'm so sorry that I made you go through that. I was being so stupid!" The two ponies cried together.
"So do you still want to... You kno-"
"I don't know" Fluttershy cut off.
"I don't know what I would have done if I lost you." The blue pony spoke. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself." Fluttershy didn't respond. "I want you to know that I'm gonna be there for you, always. We can get you through this Flutters." Rainbow reassured, placing her hoof around Fluttershy's neck.
"Okay." Fluttershy replied, not sure how else to respond.
"I'm gonna stay with you until you can leave the hospital."
"Okay, thanks Dashie."
"Anything for you Shy." Rainbow blushed when saying this. This is a better time than ever to tell her she thought to herself.
"Hey um, Fluttershy... I've been meaning to tell you this for a while..."
"Okay, go on." Fluttershy responded.
"I...I..um kinda... I kinda like you." Rainbow said getting quieter the longer she spoke. "A lot..."
"Really? Um... I actually like you too." Fluttershy said while blushing.
"Oh?" Dash was surprised, she expected a lot of things but not for her return the same feelings.
Dash slowly leaned towards Fluttershy and closed her eyes. Fluttershy saw what Dash was doing, she was uncertain what to do and time was running out. She closed her eyes and their lips met. What started as a simple kiss suddenly grew into both ponies hugging and kissing passionately. Both pegasi explored each others mouths for what felt like hours, until one of them decided to pull away.
"You have no idea how long I've waited to do that." Dash explained. "You mean everything to me."
"Dash I loved you since the day we met, when you stood up for me, I could never work up the courage to tell you, and I probably wouldn't have. I love you, and I'm sorry."
"It's fine, as long as you're okay. Everypony got really worried about you."
"Oh... So everypony knows?"
"Well, yeah." This wasn't good news for Fluttershy, she didn't want everypony pitying her.
"Look I'll stay here with you for the rest of today, then I'll come and live with you."
"Oh, um... Why?
" I want to live with you from now on, I just can't take you doing something... Stupid again." Dash said, wincing as she said the last few words.
"Besides aren't we like a couple now or something?" Dash said as she made the realisation.
"I... I guess so, actually I would quite like that." Fluttershy smiled again.
The rest of the day passed with the two ponies playing various games and activities. Both ponies were getting ready to sleep.
"Hey Fluttershy?"
"Yes?"
"Do you feel any better?"
"Uh... I guess a bit."
"I love you." Dash kissed Fluttershy on the nose emitting an "eep" sound from her.
"I love you too Dashie."
"Good night Flutters"
"Good night my love."
The following morning, Fluttershy woke up and looked to her right expecting to see Dash. However she wasn't there. The bed beside her was empty. Fluttershy sat up, when the door to the room opened.
"Oh hey Fluttershy, you're up. I'll go and grab your breakfast." The cyan pony turned around and left the room again. Fluttershy began to question whether she should have done what she did. Everypony seemed to care so much.
Shortly after, Dash returned holding a metal tray with a sandwich and a glass of water.
"Thank you Dashie." She said smiling, and then proceeded to take a bite into the sandwich.
"After you finish eating, we can get ready to leave, our friends are waiting to see you at Twilight's castle." Dash explained.
"Um... Okay." Fluttershy said, she was afraid of what her friends would think. She didn't know if they would be angry, or disappointed, or anything.
"This sandwich is really good." She added.
After a few minutes Fluttershy finished her breakfast.
"Well Fluttershy, when you are ready we can leave."
"I'm ready Dash."
"Sweet, let's go then." Both ponies left the room and headed for the exit. On the way out Dash nodded her head at the reception staff for their help. As soon as she got outside Dash floated off the ground, and signalled Fluttershy to do the same, which she did.
"Dash... I... I'm afraid of meeting our friends." Fluttershy stated nervously.
"What? Why?"
"I... I just can't see them again, not after what I put everypony through, what if they are angry at me!" Fluttershy cried out.
"Fluttershy." Dash put her hoof on Fluttershy's shoulder. "Our friends would never be angry with you, not about something like this. I promise they will be happy to see you." Dash smiled at Fluttershy.
"W...Well alright then, if you say so." She said shakily.
Both ponies flew for a few more minutes before arriving at Twilight's castle. Dash would have been there much sooner, but she flew slowly alongside her pegasus friend.
As both of them landed, Dash walked up to the door, Fluttershy was reluctant to follow. She knocked her hoof on the door three times and then walked back over to Fluttershy and pushed her towards the door.
"Stop stressing Fluttershy, it'll be fine." Dash tried to reassure but Fluttershy didn't look convinced.
Suddenly the castle door opened.
"Fluttershy!" Twilight called out and immediately tackled her into a hug.
"You're alright! I was so worried!"
"Oh... Um... Thanks Twilight, good to see you too." She said in shock, she didn't expect this kind of reaction.
"Fluttershy, come inside, the others are really worried about you."
"Oh... Um alright." She responded bluntly. Everypony worried about me? Fluttershy was confused.
The three ponies walked inside of the castle, they continued to go forward until they opened the door to the map room.
"SURPRISE!" Pinkie screamed, confetti flying everywhere. Fluttershy stood there surprised, but then again it's Pinkie.
"Fluttershy dear, we were all so worried, don't you ever put us through such dread again." Rarity requested.
"Good ta see you are okay sugarcube."
"Hey Fluttershy I didn't know what kind of cake you like so I baked one that has four dozen flavors, but you need to tell me which one you like next time so that I can only bake a cake with one flavor because a cake with so many flavors is just silly beca-"
"OKAY Pinkie, we get it." Dash said stuffing her hoof in Pinkie's mouth.
Fluttershy started to cower down, this was far too overwhelming for her, she always hated attention.
"Hey Flutters there's nothing to be afraid of, its just your friends." Dash spoke in a gentle voice, much calmer than her normal tone.
"What's wrong with Fluttershy?" Twilight questioned.
"This is too much for Flutters, you should have known that, you know how shy she is." Rainbow was slightly annoyed that her friends didn't think this through.
"Oh my I'm sorry, I didn't even think of that, we were all just happy to see Fluttershy is okay." Twilight quickly apologized.
"No, I... It's okay." Fluttershy quietly stammered.
"You okay?" Dash said worried.
"Yes, I'm fine, I wanted to... Um apologize... For my actions..." Fluttershy began to speak quieter the longer she spoke.
"Oh dear, you have nothing to apologize for Fluttershy, we just want to help you." Rarity explained.
"That's right!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Hey is that punch!?" Dash shouted before speeding towards the punch, it was a party after all.
"So Fluttershy, how are you feeling?" Twilight inquired.
"Well...um I feel better than...um a few days ago." She stuttered.
"Well that's good, just know that me and all our friends are here if you need us." Fluttershy simply nodded and started to walk over to the punch where Dash was.
"Hey Flutters."
"Hi Dash." The two ponies proceeded to look awkwardly at each other.
"So I'll be staying at your cottage tonight, and a bunch of time after that."
"Oh alright."
"It'll be fun, you know since we are marefriends now." Dash said with a wide grin on her face.
"Of course." Fluttershy finally started smiling.
"Hey I got you to smile!" Dash exclaimed
Fluttershy chuckled and leaned out to hug Dash.
"Thanks Dash." They quickly broke the hug because they didn't want anypony to see. Their relationship was still secret.
A few hours past at the party, the group ended up playing board games for the majority of their time. However Rainbow and Fluttershy were the first to leave.
The two pegasi arrived and landed in front of Fluttershy's cottage.
"Here we are, my home for the next few weeks."
"And uh...my home always." Fluttershy replied sarcastically. Dash chuckled softly. Fluttershy opened the door and Dash followed her in.
"I haven't been here in a while..." Dash said before she made the upsetting realisation.
"Apart from...um..."
"Maybe it's best if you...um don't talk about that." Fluttershy cut her off.
"Y...yeah, you're right. Anyway where could I sleep?" Dash asked.
"Um...I have a guest room if you'd like."
"Could I uh...share the bed...with you?" Dash said nervously.
"Oh...um...well...if you'd like." Fluttershy said when starting to turn red.
"But that's a little later, for now why don't we watch a movie or something?"
"Oh...um what did you have in mind?"
"How about we watch a horror movie like Terror Night!"
"Oh no...I..I don't like horror movies..." Fluttershy hid her face behind her mane.
"Oh right... I forgot, so what would you like to watch?"
"Why don't we see something romantic and cute, like um..."
"Ugh I hate all those sappy movies, it's always the same thing. Tell you what, I have a better idea, why don't we go upstairs and um..." Dash paused unable to say what she wanted.
"And do what Dash?"
"Can we um...if you don't mind...snuggle?"
"Oh...um of course, if you want." Both ponies went as red as they could.
"Oh my gosh." Dash said to herself quietly, she had dreamed about being with Fluttershy for years, it felt surreal to her, it was finally happening. Both ponies made their way upstairs into Fluttershy's room.
"I've dreamt about this for a long time." Dash admitted.
"Me too." Fluttershy blushed again.
"You're so cute when you're embarrassed." This only made Fluttershy blush even more. After this Dash put her hooves around Fluttershy's shoulders and fell backwards onto the bed, taking Flutters with her.
"EEP!" Fluttershy shouted in shock.
"Dash!" She shouted again. Dash said nothing but simply hugged the yellow pegasus and pretended to sleep.
"I love you Dashie."
"..."
Fluttershy kissed Dash on the nose which caused her to open her eyes and blush.
"I...I love you too." The two ponies snuggled and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The following morning...
"Dash!" Rainbow awoke to her lovers voice, and was immediately kissed on the lips, her eyes went wide open. This was surprisingly out going for Fluttershy.
"Wow Flutters, looks like we are ready to go on our first date." Dash spoke as soon as the kiss broke.
"Oh my, that sounds like fun!"
"I was thinking we could go out to the cliffside, and maybe uh...have a picnic or something, the view is beautiful."
"Oh I didn't know you were one to appreciate beauty."
"Well when flying around you see lots of things."
"Well of course we can do that."
"So how about we leave an hour from now?"
"Alright well I'll go make us some breakfast."
"What will we be having?"
"Just some daisy sandwiches."
"Sweet!" Dash said excitedly. Fluttershy placed a plate in front of Dash that had two sandwiches on it.
"Enjoy!"
"These are so good!" Dash spoke in between her chewing. "Best meal I've had in months."
"Thank you, I tend to cook for myself so I know a thing or two."
"You're the best Flutters!"
"N...no I'm not, not after what I did." The tone suddenly became much darker and Rainbow froze in place for a moment.
"I...I...please let's not talk about that." Dash said trying not to think of the dark images that have been scarred in her mind.
"S...sorry, for bringing it up." Fluttershy wiped a few tears from her eyes.
"I mean uh, unless you want to talk about it." The blue pegasus said while scratching the back of her head.
"Its just... I'm so sorry, for making you all so worried, I'm sorry for being so stupid, I'm sorry for trying to just run away from my problems, I'm sorry that I'm so useless, I'm sorr-" Rainbow cut off Fluttershy by tackling her into a hug.
"Woah there calm down Flutters, you know that's not true, you don't have to apologize for anything." Rainbow realised that this was going to be common due to Fluttershy's mood swings, but she wasn't exactly complaining. She loved to comfort Shy.
After a few minutes of heartfelt crying Fluttershy stopped. "Thanks again Dash."
"You ever wanna just talk about it or cry I'm here." Dash shot her a large smile.
"Well I'm going to go feed my animals out in the garden, if you um, need me then I'll be there."
"Alright Shy, I'll be going out to do...some stuff, so cya!" Dash began floating above the ground and flew out of the door, she had a date to prepare. She wanted to make sure it will be perfect.
First things first Dash needed to find a perfect spot on the cliffside, where they would have a great view and also actually be safe.
"Wait wouldn't it be better to do this after I get food." Dash had made a sudden realisation, and proceeded to facehoof. She began to change directions and was now heading towards Sugar Cube Corner, if anybody knew how to make good food fast it was Pinkie.
"Hey Pinkie!" Dash said pushing open the front door.
"Oooooo Dashie good to see you, do ya want some cupcakes?" Pinkie replied hyperactively.
"Actually I need some food for a picnic, and fast."
"Oh of course, when would you like to pick it up?"
"I need to have it in the next...hour."
"WHAT?"
"Pinkie please it's for Fluttershy."
"Oh boy oh boy oh boy, that's a lot of work to do in an hour, but anything for you, give me like half an hour and come back here."
"Thanks Pinks I knew I could count on you." Without another word she flew outside of the bakery and was heading to Carousel Boutique, though she hated the idea of doing so.
The sound of bells rang as Dash pushed open the front door to Rarity's boutique.
"Welcome to Carousel Bouti- Dash!?" Rarity stood there agaped.
"Hey Rarity."
"Why Rainbow what a pleasant surprise, you are certainly not the pony I expected to walk through that door, so what brings you here today."
"Well um...I need you to like... make me look pretty, I'm going on a date with Fluttershy later today and I look like a mess." Dash spoke sheepishly.
"But of course dear, we can get you beautiful in no time!"
"But no fancy dresses, just make me look nice."
"Alright Dash I'll see what I can do, sit down in this chair for me please." Rarity signalled towards a white chair that sat in front of a mirror.
Rainbow absolutely hated other ponies touching her, only Fluttershy was allowed to do that. Rarity grabbed some bottle that Dash had no idea what was for and opened the cap. She slowly approached Dash's face with the brush.
"Woah! What's that for!"
"Relax Dash it's just a little bit of make-up."
Fifteen minutes of complaining and fidgeting later Rarity was done applying some basic make-up, anything more and Dash would have jumped out of her seat and ran away.
"That was terrible, how can you do that everyday."
"Dash I just applied some make-up to your face, it's not that big of a deal, and besides you look much nicer now, I'm sure Fluttershy will appreciate you looking better for your date."
"Yeah...I guess you're right, thanks Rarity, now that you mention it I do look a bit better, well I'll be on my way then, see ya!"
"Yes goodbye dear, best of luck!" Rarity replied.
Dash opened the door to the boutique and headed back to Sugarcibe Corner, Pinkie would probably be done by now.
She arrived at her destination in less than five minutes, Rainbow always enjoyed flying fast, the rush of adrenaline and the wind flying past her. She entered the building and immediately had Pinkie pop up in her face.
"Dash you made it just in time! I've got everything ready for you!"
"Thanks Pinkie I really appreciate it." Dash took the basket that handed her.
"You two are so cute together!" Dash blushed to this.
"Uh...Thanks, though I would say we are awesome together." Without further interruptions Dash left the premesis and was now fully prepared for her date with the mare of her dreams.
Fluttershy was in her cottage, she was currently feeding some of her squirrels when she heard a knock on the door. "Oh that must be Rainbow!" Fluttershy quickly hurried over to open the door.
"Hey Flutterbutter."
"Oh my...Rainbow you look wonderful, I...I didn't get myself ready." Fluttershy blushed.
"Aww don't worry about it, you always look beautiful." Dash said with a smug grin, she had no shame using such cheesy lines. This only made Fluttershy blush an even deeper shade of red.
"So are ya ready for our date?"
"I...I think so." Fluttershy meekly replied.
"Alright, i have lots planned for us." Dash haf a smug grin placed on her muzzle. Both ponies stepped out of the cottage and made flight.
"Dash where are we going?" Fluttershy hadn't been here before, they seemed to be aproaching the sea.
"You'll see..." A few moments later Dash slowed down her flying, not that she was going fast in the first place, she didn't want to leave Fluttershy behind.
"We're here Flutters."
"Oh my...it's beautiful Dash, I had no idea a place like this existed." It was a gorgeous valley, just before the beach with a cliffside that has a view of the ocean.
"And that's not all, I also brought us some food to have a picnic." Dash said smiling.
"Oh goodness, you came so prepared."
"You deserve all the preparation." Fluttershy blushed.
Dash opened her saddlebags and pulled out a cupcake. "Huh, I guess I should have specified what I wanted when i asked Pinkie."
"Don't worry Dashie, cupcakes are great." Fluttershy reassured the Dash that had a frown on her face.
"There's only sweets in here, I guess they'll have to do."
"Don't let that ruin our date for you." Fluttershy nuzzled Dash's side. Dash blushed from this action and replied by draping her wing over pegasus lover.
"I like this Dash."
"I like it too Flutters."
"I'm just really happy being with you, just spending time with you."
"Don't worry we will be doing this a lot more often from now on." Dash leaned in to kiss Flutters on the lips and she did the same.
"I love you."
"And I will always love you." Both pegasi just sat in eachothers embrace, watching the beautiful view in front of them. It wasn't long until Dash fell asleep, and Fluttershy followed soon after.
3 hours later...
Fluttershy opened her eyes and noticed the sun had nearly gone below the horizon. It made the view even more wonderful, she also noticed that she was being tightly cuddled by her one true love. Waking up like this was something of dreams for her.
"It's really pretty isn't it?" Fluttershy jumped up, not knowing Dash was awake had scared her. "Hehe, sorry, didn't mean to spook you." Dash quickly pecked Flutters on the cheek, emitting an "Eep" sound from her.
"Oh Dash you big softie!"
"Only for you." Dash smiled. "So what do you say, wanna head back to yours and have some cuddles?"
"Oh of course, I would like nothing else."
"And perhaps... a little more?" Fluttershy froze and went tomato red.
"I...I...I'm not sure, maybe... I'll uh... think about it..."
"Only if you feel comfortable about it, I wouldn't want to pressure you into anything." Dash reasurred. She then stood up. "Well let us get going then."
"A...alright." As both pegasi took off on their flight, the sun had finally set, Rainbow flew slowly like usual for her marefriend, by the time they were near the cottage night had fallen.
"The stars are beautiful."
"So are you." Dash giggled sheepishly.
"Oh Dashie you silly filly." She chuckled. The duo had arrived at the familiar little cottage and made their way inside.
"So Flutters you wanna head upstairs and...you know." Dash scratched the back of her head.
"Um...y...yeah...I do want to." Fluttershy stuttered nervously.
"Only if you are comfortable."
"I am." Both ponies walked up the stairs slowly, one by one. Both were quite clearly nervous, Dash made sure to lock the door and cover the blinds. Then the two pegasi got on top of the bed and proceeded to "sleep".
The following morning Dash slowly opened her eyes as she noticed that Fluttershy was tightly gripping her in a hug.
"Hey Flutterbutt, wakey wakey." The other pegasus continued to breathe slowly in her sleep. Upon seeing this Dash shook the pegasus gently.
"Wha...what!" Fluttershy almost jumped in fright.
"Easy there, anyway its getting late and we can't just lay in bed all day."
"Oh my what time is it."
"Its nearly 9 AM already!"
"9 AM? But Dash that's still early."
"It's not for me, im up by six on the daily." Dash said looking very proudly.
"Goodness I couldn't do that everyday, need my rest or i'm too tired to help my animals in the morni...oh my, my animals...I need to go feed them!" Fluttershy jumped out of bed and hurried downstairs. Dash just groaned and slowly followed behind Fluttershy.
"Hey wait up!"
