Author's Note
I only decided to write this because on youtube I found a song trust in me, which is a song by Discord to Celestia, to strike a deal with him to save Luna's life.
Chapter 1 The Illness
In the land of Equestria, two young fillies were wandering around the courtyard. The oldest was Princess Celestia; she was a white alicorn with a pink mane, her younger sister was Princess Luna. As they were running the courtyard, the smallest alicorn fell. “I'm alright,” Princess Luna said getting up before trotting after her older sister.
“Catch me if you can,” Princess Celestia said, sticking out her tongue. Insulted Luna speed up though they were playing their bond was as strong as ever.
Watching from across the courtyard was an older stallion and mare. The stallion’s mane was red with a yellow stripe, above his mane was his crown. His name was King Blaze, beside him stood a lovely mare, her coat was lavender while her mane sparkled like the midnight sky. Her name was Queen Misy Night. They watched their children run a muck of the beloved courtyard. “I see our daughters are nearly ready. Starswirl has trained them well,” King Blaze said an amused expression arousing his face.
“Where is he anyway? I haven't seen him all day, he must be busy,” the queen asked.
He didn't answer. At times he was serious but he loved seeing his young daughters mess around every once in a while.
“Looking for me, your highness?” The king turned around seeing a grey old stallion with a big beard in a blue wizarding hat and cape.
“Ah-ha Starswirl there you are me and my wife has been wondering where you were.”
“Sorry about that I just got back. I and the other pillars finally put an end to those dreaded Sirens, that caused mayhem and destruction to our glorious land of Equestria. I myself was able to banish them to another realm,” Starswirl answered bowing.
“You are excused, my old friend. Though I must ask what does my most humble and loyal wizard may have in store for the princesses now?”
“You do not need to worry everything will be under control when the session begins, after all, they are my favourite stude–”
“They’re your only students ” Mist night interruptedly deadpanned.
The young alicorns were past the courtyard after sneaking away from their parents, who were distracted by their mentor. They ran through the forest aware of the dangers. They knew not to go too far as there were dangerous beasts such as Timberwolves cockatrice and other mythical creatures roaming the great outspread of this forest.
“Wait for me!” Luna practically shouted as her sister raced ahead. Feeling a tiny bit frightened, she sped up to her sister unknowingly she stepped on a red flower with purple polka dots. She felt weaker, simply helpless like her life was going past her eyes, finding it hard to breathe with every step.
Celestia was far ahead. She stopped as she realised Luna wasn't behind her, “Luna,” Celestia called. Turning around she went back to find her younger sister.
Luna was laying on the ground. She could feel her chest tighten with every breath. Fear took hold of her as she realised she was still in the forest. Luna laid in agony waiting to be found by any pony that wasn't a dangerous creature. “I don't think any pony will come for me,” she thought, as tears began to form in her eyes. She didn't know how long she's been laying there minutes maybe hours until she heard hoof steps.
“Luna!” Celestia hugged her sister, “I got you.” She’d help the younger alicorn up before both trudged through the forest back to Canterlot castle.
Inside the castle, King blaze awaited with his wife and Starswirl. “They'll be back in due time your majesties.” The king still bore a worried expression.
“I know Starswirl but I still worry,” the king said.
The doors of the castle opened wide and a young white alicorn rushed in, a limping Luna by her side. “Mother, father help!” She’d reach the thrones placing her younger sister down gently.
“What happened?” the queen asked, a few tears forming in her eyes.
“I don't know we-we were racing through the forest. I was ahead but didn't slow down, as soon as I realised Luna wasn't behind me I stopped and went looking for her,” Celestia explained. She knew she should've slowed down but didn't, though she didn't.
“Take her to her chamber, let her rest there,” King Blaze ordered. Starswirl bowed and took the young sick alicorn to her chamber.
“Celestia we need to talk.” Hearing the slightly frightening tone Misy Night exited the room.
Celestia sat next to Luna's bedside, watching the ill young alicorn. After yesterday's day talk with her father, she had to watch over Luna partly because it was her fault in the first place. As she watched her sister a million thoughts purged her mind, her heart shattered at a particular thought, a thought that rocked her to the core that it was her fault. Tears ran down her cheeks. “Oh, Luna why couldn't I have been the one.”
There was no response. Celestia and her family at first thought it was a common cold but they were wrong. Not being able to bare this, in a spark of yellow magic she was gone.
She appeared at a mountaintop, looking around she saw a cave. Cautiously she entered. It was dark, the only thing lighting the endlessly dark cave was her magic. She felt like she's been walking for eons until she found a big room. Entering she kept her horn charged in case of an attack. “Well, well. What do we have here?” A maniacal voice chuckled in the dark? Startled and alarmed the princess felt a shiver down her spine, her chest clutching as the maniacal laughter continued.
“Who are you!? Show yourself!” The young alicorn stood boldly. The lights magically turned on revealing a strange creature. It had the head of a pony and a body made up of all sorts of creatures, basically, he was a chimera.
“Ha-ah. So bold yet I do sense a bit of...Fear!” The princess jumped back a bit causing him to burst into a fit of laughter.
Celestia narrowed her eyes at the laughing chimera, not amused. “I won't ask a second time who are you?” she asked.
The chimera smirked. “The better question is who are you? I don't really get many pony guests around these parts.”
“I'm Princess Celestia air to the throne of Canterlot and the next princess of Equestria,” she spoke formally. He'd groan.
“So very boring Celestia. You think I like to speak formally, though you are a boring princess,” he’d say calmly, ignoring Celestia's mighty glare. “So what brings you to my humble abode?”
“It's Princess Celestia. The reason I'm here is that I ran away from home after my younger sisters illness,” she’d say sadly lowering her head.
He'd look at her covering his surprise with a smirk. “I see.” He'd tap his chin, “And why would you run away hey? Feeling sad or is it guilt?”
She felt her heart shatter at his cruel words. She glared at him. “Don't you dare speak to me like that again Discord!”
“But what if I'm able to help cure your sister?” He’d ask shrugging his shoulders. Celestia perked up, looking at him with pleading eyes. “But magic comes with a price and the price I want is my little own secret. So consider this a blind agreement.”
“I never got your name.”
“It's Discord,” he’d say summoning a scroll. “All you have to is sign your name here and the deals made. I save your sister's life and I get what I wanted in return.”
“I don't re–” He'd put his talons on her lips, interrupting her.
“Take your time it's only your sister’s life after all. I'm a very patient creature but your sister doesn't really have time,” he’d say smirking mischievously. The air began to fill with music.
“You can trust in me, but to give a fair warning magic comes with a price, to pay it may be tragic but I promise you: you and she will be safe–” Discord took her hooves in his paw and talon “–though some may call me insane. I must disagree. I am not as bad as they claim.”
Celestia looked at him unsurely. If she accepted his offer she may be putting Equestria in great peril, if she didn't she’ll lose her only sister. He’d summon a scroll.
“Going once...going twice–” She’d charge her horn and blasted her name on the scroll. “You accepted my deal?”
“Of course only for my sister's sake.”
“Then you're a foal.” The room went dark.
