//-------------------------------------------------------// The Blue Screen of Dash -by thekittenarmy- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// BSoDash //-------------------------------------------------------// BSoDash Rainbow Dash was bored, very bored. All her friends were on a friendship quest and she had to clean up her cloud house. She slid onto her bed, rolling because of boredom. Abruptly, a thought came into her mind, a rough thought but nonetheless a thought. She just happens to have a computer around. Crashing down onto the floor, Dash sluggishly got up on all fours and walked all the way to the computer, just in front of her. There on she turned it on, pressing the big on/off switch. The computer slowly but eventually booted into Windows 10, the latest version of Microsoft's operating system. Dash put in her password, and slowly navigated around the desktop using a clunky mouse. There on she started to play some games, most notably Geometry Dash, a rhythm based game. Upon opening the level Plasma Pulse Finale, she noticed something strange. The objects weren't loading in properly and the monitor had major screen tearing issues. Her PC fans started to run at max, and was easily heard. All of a sudden, a blue screen appeared. https://camo.fimfiction.net/ToM6C42CoO5W5Dh68RpLBg3NMWjiqEhxlCudIxFY5LE?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.howtogeek.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F05%2Fxwindows-8-blue-screen-header.png.pagespeed.gp%2Bjp%2Bjw%2Bpj%2Bws%2Bjs%2Brj%2Brp%2Brw%2Bri%2Bcp%2Bmd.ic.DJqE_3zuYI.png 'Oh no,' she thought to herself in distress, 'What is this?' Seconds turned into minutes. She had her phone though, maybe she could use that for the time being to search up some ways to fix the blue screen that has apparently hit her computer. Tapping her phone with her wings, she slowly started to search up on Google what happened. What it said was to restart the computer. Dash walked up to the computer, hesitating for a bit. Should she do it? A quick swipe of her hoof rebooted the computer, but upon startup, she had an automatic repair screen. Great, now she would figure out how to get that fixed. Maybe she would need some assistance, some assistance from an egghead and nerd, Twilight Sparkle. Then she realised that Twilight was on a friendship quest, and so she couldn't help. Breathing out, Dash started to think for herself, she had to find out how to fix the BSoD. The first thing that came to her mind was to reinstall Windows, not a great solution but has a success rate of 100%. Only problem is that she couldn't make a USB with the Windows installation because her computer was dead. Now she could only really find another way that could work, could, not will. One of the ways was to fix it, not by reinstalling Windows, but to wipe it. A click here and there and she got to the recover screen, after rebooting of course. She chose the restore option, and chose to keep her data. Only problem, it didn't work. It just gave her an error, no code nor useful information. 'Dammit,' Dash cried in distress, very stressed about her computer situation. There was barely anything she could do now. She was no computer expert, so she didn't know how to fix it via a command line, nor she was able to call anyone. She now had nothing to do, nothing except to fix the darn computer. She was mad, really mad at the computer. She didn't know anything about the difference between hardware and software, and so she flew near the ceiling and dashed at the computer itself, hoof first. It crashed into pieces. It broke. Dash noticed it as soon she opened her eyes. Now there was no chance of revival, none. She cried, sobbing with barely any tears. She then made a little mental note, and that was to not think too fast, and to think things through. She now had no computer. //-------------------------------------------------------// Another PC //-------------------------------------------------------// Another PC The long wait without a PC was over, another one was delivered to her cloud house, costing only 1000 bits. This was expensive, but with some princess as her friend she was able to get it for free. Setting it up was not very simple as pie. Quite the opposite this time, with the wire management being extremely crap. Hours of getting the PC working meant that everything was done. She was able to boot on the computer and well, start downloading and playing games. Her first time booting up the computer was simple enough. Everything went smoothly until another BSoD struck her. This time Twilight, the book horse princess, was at her castle, which meant Dash could ask her to fix the computer. Dash dashed over to the princess' castle, which happened to be a huge crystal tree, and yelled her name out. 'TWILIGHT, MY COMPUTER'S DEAD!' Dash uttered out with all her might, her voice shrieking. She didn't realise that the princess was right beside her, staring at her in an odd manner, not angry nor happy. 'Ok, lemme go to your house to fix it,' Twilight softly answered, standing still with no visible movement. 'Also, remember not to shout in this castle, the echoing is quite bad, so please don't. They both trot and fly over to Rainbow Dash's cloud house, and start to diagnose the computer. Twilight was doing all the work while Dash was sitting around doing nothing. The problem was extremely simple, a stick of RAM was just a bit loose. Twilight quickly shoved the stick of RAM into the corresponding place, and so the computer was fixed. Upon booting up, the computer worked fine, no fuss at all. Everything worked fine, nothing went wrong. Dash thanked Twilight, not for her genius mind, but for helping her. Now that the computer was fixed, Twilight flew away. Only problem now was that Twilight slammed onto the ground. Dash quickly scooped her up and Twilight was saved. Twilight had no idea how to thank Dash. If Dash didn't save her she would die, not from electrocution from computer parts, but from falling from a cloud. Now that Dash's computer was fixed, she started to download all the important stuff, such as her games and whatnot. All that is left is to hope that the stick of ram won't jut out, and cause a BSoD.
