           Pinkie’s Dilemma

By Mason al’Cat

At what point did parties stop being fun?  I’m starting to ask myself this all the time now.  It’s been years now since our little “Spikie Wikie” left home to join the dragon migration and left Ponyville behind.  I never thought I’d live long enough to see that , but I did.  The strange thing is I haven’t aged a day since we used the “Elements of Harmony” to free Princess Luna from Nightmare Moon.  I must say the thought of being able to party was a fun, but unfortunately…

I saw Apple Bloom the other day.  You know she looks much like Granny Smith did just before….

I don’t want to think about it.  The thought of seeing somepony I saw grow up from a baby… well you know.  I can’t even say the word anymore.  It makes me too sad and I don’t like being sad.  At least “AJ” is taking this better than we could have hoped.  We’ve all come to terms with it I guess.  We do see Princess Luna and Princess Celestia more often than we did when the world was younger.  I guess she just feels the same tiredness that we all do at seeing young ones we use to hang out with, suddenly not be there anymore.  I never knew being the princesses could be so lonely.

I always thought having a photographic memory was a good thing.   I could remember every new face that ever came into Ponyville.  Unfortunately it comes with a cost, I also get to remember those ponies…  Why is that word so hard to say? Where do ponies go when they, well you know?  Is there some better place where you get to party all the time, where nopony gets sick or old or goes away…   Or do we just *poof* we’re no more.  I’ll never know I guess.

I hate this! Why did the “Elements” have to give us this curse.  Parties don’t have the joy they use to.  What good is it in welcoming somepony if I’m just going to have to say good bye again.  I… I just…  Anyway, let’s talk about happier things.

“Twi” is doing well, but then again I never see her come out of the Library in Canterlot anymore.  She says she’s got a lot of work to do. Something about the “Elements” and how they were created.  She should really get out more.  I keep telling her it’s no good to be cooped up in a building all day, but she says that she’s got all the time in the world, she can get out some other day.  “Well today is some other day” I told her, but she just laughed and went back to her books.  Time, is that all we have?   Time?  Well if it is, I don’t want it.  Give me some other gift.  You know what would be a great gift? Cupcakes!  Those are always great gifts.

I haven’t seen Rarity in a while.  Wonder what she’s up to?  The last thing I heard from her was a Magazine with her picture on the cover.  She had become the “Pony that every pony should know” like she always wanted. She’s the head of the most posh fashion company now.  Did you know that? I’m betting everypony there really wished she wasn’t.  She always was a tyrant when it came to fashion.  Everything always has to be perfect.  Here she is the fashion-estia from Tartorous that will not ever go away.  I almost feel sorry for them.  Almost.  I mean who wouldn’t want to have a boss like Rarity?  She’s the most generous pony on the planet.  Who else do you know that can go into an orphanage and totally give all the little fillies and colts so many toys and new clothes to wear?
