Author's Note
I had an unhealthy (It’s funny because I got hospital-like sick during the writing of this
) amount of fun writing the intro and several parts of this story and I’m pretty sure I actually died a little inside. I don’t know why but I normally like to keep the characters (except for OCs) in line with cannon but I think I went a little out of the lines for this one. 👌

What does Christmas mean to you?
”Well.... it's about being with Family after all :)” -JimmyHook19
”Ah, that’s a tough one, but here’s what I think. I’ll make it short. Christmas isn’t about getting gifts. It’s actually quite the opposite. Christmas means giving others, not objects, but company, laughter, smiles, and a good time. Because to them, the greatest gift they could ever get is you.” =DubstepIsAmazing
”Christmas is a for family, friends, enemys, young and old to come together and to forget all our prejudice & hostility towards each other and come together in the spirit of caring, understanding and good will towards our fellow man.” -Flaming_Nova
“Christmas means the world to me. It’s a time where I slow down and appreciate the little things in life, like the ones who mean the most to me. Even when nothing seems to be going right, and it seems like not many people care about me, Christmas always brings me closer to the ones who do care. I’ve come to realize that it’s not a lot of people caring some about you that matters, it’s the few people who care a lot.” -RDfan27
”Happiness... maybe.” -JetXPegasus
”Christmas is awesome because it's a holiday filled with love. It's all about God's love for humans in his gift of Jesus Christ; he came to earth because he loves us! Then, we can turn around and love everyone- our family, friends, and community. That's the 'magic' in the air around this time of year that we feel, but sometimes struggle to put our finger on. :3” -CategoricalGrant
”Christmas To me means a lot. It is a time to cherish your family and make ever lasting memories. hehehehee” -ShadowReader
”A time to be together, a time to share with friends,
A time to think of others, in a spirit that never ends.
Happy Hearth’s Warming!” -Bronyxy
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
All I Want Is You
Celestia approached the door to her sister’s room. Luna had been inside for a long time now and they needed to head into the center of Canterlot in order to place a star on the top of the Canterlot tree as they did every year. And her sister was, as usual, locked in her room getting ready. Luna took the star placing very seriously and always prepared at least two hours ahead of time. But this time she decided to prepare three hours ahead of time and wanted to dress up Supernova too.
Celestia chuckled, remembering how frightened he had looked as Luna pushed him into her room and justified her actions by saying that he was to attend the star placing and he must look nice doing so. But it had been two and a half hours and her sister’s room showed no sign of life inside. Celestia grew worried.
As she raised a hoof and knocked one on Luna’s door, it fell open. Not very wide and with no sound, but it was wide enough for Celestia to peek through the crack and see Supernova on his back with dark blue hooves draped over his shoulders. Mere seconds later he raised his head and Luna’s head also came into view. They met in the middle and closed their eyes, holding the position.
Celestia audibly gasped, not loud enough for any other pony within ten feet to hear, but somehow loud enough for Luna and Supernova’s eyes to pop open in surprise. Knowing she had been caught lurking Celestia opened the door all the way, then shut it softly behind her. The two ponies on the floor did not move but their eyes followed Celestia as she walked towards the middle of the room.
She stood for a few seconds before finally breaking the silence with a question that made Luna blush. “Are you done yet?”
Pulling her head back the two stood side by side, looking at Celestia. Luna looked at the floor and replied, “Yes...”
“Is that what you two have been doing for the past two and a half hours?”
“Well, no... we um, also got ready...”
“I see you brushed his mane and tail.”
“Yes of course... I don’t want him to have loose hairs anywhere so-“
“He’s in a tuxedo? And a bow tie?”
“He didn’t want to get into them at first...”
“I like your dress.”
“Thank you.” Rarity had been specifically payed a visit by Luna two months ahead of time to make a dress for the festival. She was also told to make a tuxedo for Supernova which he was unaware of and only found out when Luna had opened the box on their bed and then levitated the outfits with a fairly large smile. Then he was frozen with magic while she put it on him, and then she pinned him to the floor to attach the bow tie. Luna had already put on her outfit which was a silk dress that would appear to be designed with the stars themselves.
Where her chest piece would normally go was a crescent moon symbol made of silver. Supernova’s suit was of similar design and his bow tie had a full moon in it’s knot. When Luna had pinned him to the ground in order to attach the bow tie, he had seen his chance and kissed her.
They had been there for about an hour and had lost track of time. Celestia gave Luna a playful smirk. “You didn’t have too much fun, did you?”
Both Luna’s and Supernova’s faces went red. “O-of course not! We are v-very responsible.” Luna stuttered. At her sister’s reply Celestia began walking towards the door.
“I’m going to go pick up my dress from Rarity now. Something about it needing to be so perfect has kept it in her custody for a while now.” She stated as she shut the door behind her. Rarity had also been contacted by Celestia for the exact same reason as Luna. A dress.
However Rarity had been warned ahead of time when she had made the dress for Luna and the tuxedo for Supernova while Celestia had swooped in only a day ago to ask. Rarity, of course had kept her cool until Celestia was out of earshot. Then she proceeded to freak out and have multiple mental breakdowns about the dress.
—————————————————————————
“She’s on her way!” Rarity yelled as she frantically ran through Canterlot Carousel shoving every last dress into a storage room. The last thing she wanted was for the ruler of Equestria to walk into a messy shop. Celestia’s dress was on a podium in the back behind glass which was behind a curtain which was behind a door. Rarity wanted to make sure absolutely nothing, and she meant nothing, touched that dress before Celestia wore it.
Sassy Saddles was upstairs attempting to make the view presentable. Despite Rarity being the head drama queen of all Equestria Sassy Saddles was about twice as anxious. Rarity had experience talking to the princesses and was even friends with one while Sassy had rarely seen Twilight. Downstairs Rarity froze at the flash of magic outside the door.
Rarity turned around and practically screamed, “Hold still!” At Sassy, who froze in her tracks. Rarity used a spell that made both of their manes and tails perfectly groomed and clean. Just in time too as Celestia walked through the entrance.
Celestia looked around to see a spotless shop and it put a smile on her face. “I see you were anticipating me.” She tittered. “Very lovely job you have done, I say I might even be able to see my reflection on the floor.”
Rarity gave a sigh of relief at Celestia’s statement. “Well now, we can’t have it looking like Ponyville’s mental asylum now can we?” She replied nervously.
Celestia raised an eyebrow. “When did Ponyville get a mental asylum? I was uninformed of this development.”
“Oh well they had one put up a long time ago but now it is simply just a place for foals to go and mess around.” She said with a hint of annoyance. “They are always so loud. Spike goes there often too, although I don’t exactly approve.”
Celestia simply rolled her eyes and trotted in past her. “You said my dress was done?” Rarity squealed in delight when Celestia mentioned her masterpiece.
“Oh yes! Follow me you’re sure to love it!” She exclaimed as the door to the back room opened. “I took some inspiration from Luna’s design as for the body however it is much brighter and can seem to create a certain... vibe, if you will.” Rarity took the sheet off and it revealed glass that was foggy. As she slowly lifted the glass Celestia noticed Sassy Saddles bursting with excitement on the balcony above.
“Why I didn’t see you there miss Saddles.” Sassy Saddle’s excitement went straight to fear. “Would you like to come down and join us as my dress is revealed to me?” Sassy, at the question, fainted instantly onto her own fainting couch that Rarity made just for her. Rarity rolled her eyes.
“So worked up at the sight of anything and the smallest things can make her faint like a diva. Have you ever met a greater drama queen?” Rarity quizzed. Celestia did everything in her power not to die of laughter.
After stifling a laugh she let out a short sigh. “Alright I’m ready to see my dress now.” Rarity’s eyes lit up and she lifted the glass to reveal a beautiful white dress of silk brimmed on the edges with gold. Celestia also took notice that there were two small sun earrings on the mannequin.
“I assume those are for me?” She asked. Rarity looked up at her.
“Do you not like them? If you don’t want them you don’t have to keep them I mean you are royalty and I-“
“They’re fine. I quite like them actually.” Celestia could tell Rarity was hyperventilating right in front of her.
Rarity let out a breath she had no idea she was holding. “Oh thank goodness!”
Celestia used her magic to pick the dress up and teleport back to her quarters. Rarity proceeded to faint.
—————————
Celestia emerged from her room in her dress and equipped with her earrings to find Luna standing outside. “Ugh! Nova got away and I couldn’t find him. But we have to leave so hurry up!” Luna rushed her sentence but Celestia was able to make out the important bits.
“So you’re telling me to hurry, when you weren’t ready 15 minutes ago and now I have gotten ready in a short amount of time, and you’re telling ME to hurry up?” Celestia raised an eyebrow. Luna rolled her eyes.
“Just forget about it! Let’s go!” Luna pushed her sister towards the castle entrance where a chariot was waiting for them.
“You seemed so calm moments earlier. What’s with the sudden mood changes?” Celestia was slowly sliding towards the door, picking up the carpet as she was pushed along. Luna stopped pushing her and trotted past.
“Yes ok I’m sorry but I’m anxious a- and I’m worried and I don’t know where Nova is and I’m still excited for the festival! I’m sorry please hurry!” Luna seemed as though she was having an emotional breakdown.
“Ok I’m going I’m going Luna just please calm down!” Celestia trotted out the door and boarded the chariot. Luna practically jumped for joy right next to her sister, embracing her in a hug.
“Thank you Tia!” And the chariot made its way down the streets of Canterlot.
——————————
The chariot came to a stop in front of the Canterlot tree in front of a crowd of ponies. The crowd cheered as they lifted the star with their magic and placed it upon the top of the tree. However, a certain pony concealed in a cloak weaved their way through the crowd and into a jewelry store.
Once inside Nova removed his hood and walked towards the counter to ring the bell. Before he could a flash of light revealed a white unicorn with a red and and orange mane. “Took you long enough! I’ve got the requested item right here!” He pushed a box across the desk.
Nova removed the lid to see exactly what he had requested was inside. He smiled and took a sack of bits from his cloak and tossed it onto the counter. “Thank you. She’ll love it.” And with that he dawned his hood once again and exited the store.
The white unicorn went to the backroom and up the stairs to the second level where the housing quarters were. Upon entering he found his friend slamming his head on a desk in rhythmic style. “Still having trouble writhing that story huh?”
The grey stallion stopped slamming his head and it rested on the desk. “My head hurts.” He replied.
A soft chuckle came from the white stallion. “Go figure.”
“Look if you came up here to bully me about how I’m having trouble writing a story you haven’t even updated your one.”
“I made a different one.”
As much as he wanted to, the grey pony couldn’t escape fact. But what he could do was pick it apart. “I went through it and found a lot of errors in spelling and punctuation and all that good stuff. But I’m not gonna tell you.”
“Well I surely don’t want you telling me where my commas should be. Weren’t you going to enter that writing contest?”
“Don’t change the subject P. That’s my thing. Like have you ever noticed that I’m able to teleport between dimensions just fine but when you tried to do it you turned into a filly?”
“Now who’s changing the subject W?”
————————
Back at the castle Luna paced impatiently with a scroll held in her magic. “Where is he?” Celestia, who had been heating up tea at the moment, poked fun at Luna.
“Why’d you marry him if he isn’t around often?”
Luna blushed and turned to face her sister. “Love wants who love wants!” Celestia sipped her tea. Luna dawned a smug smile. “Isn’t that what you say about Discord?” Now it was Celestia’s turn to blush as her cheeks puffed from almost spitting her tea.
“I- I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.” She stuttered defensively. Luna’s smugness only grew and her next reply was on the tip of her tounge but alas Celestia was saved by Supernova walking through the door with a wrapped box on his back.
“Hello Lulu. Hi Celestia.” He greeted. Luna wasn’t having any of his cheery attitude and wasted no time in interrogating him.
“Where have you been? Why did you disappear? Who were you with? What’s in the box? What happened to your tuxedo?” Luna gasped “You’ve been with another mare haven’t you!? How could you!? What’s her name!? Where’s she live huh?”
Nova rolled his eyes. “There is no one that could ever replace you and almost everypony in Canterlot was at the star placing ceremony.” Luna squinted at him.
“Almost. You sa-“ Luna was cut short by Supernova kissing her.
“There.” He stated matter-of-factly. “Now if I was with another mare, would I have kissed you?”
“I don’t know. Would you? Now what’s in the box?”
“No, I would not. And you will find out what is in the box later. As in tomorrow.” Luna frowned.
“Fine! I can wait.” And with that she left the lounge room to return to her quarters.
Nova looked over at Celestia. “Oh and I heard the whole Discord thing.” Celestia teleported right in front of him and looked him dead in the eye.
“What was said in here, STAYS in here.” She threatened. Nova nodded and took a step back.
“You remind me of the nightmare that Twilight told me about. This thing was after her when she was filly and Smarty Pants could talk and some weird details here and there.” And with that he left the room.
As he walked down the hall he noticed Flash Sentry standing guard at the lounge room after rotations. “Hey Flash, you told Twilight you like her yet?” He asked.
“No.”
“But you had a shift in Ponyville! That was your big chance.”
“All I saw was that rainbow Pegasus and a small orange filly with her. I think the rainbow Pegasus is her mom.”
“You mean Rainbow Dash? Only if she adopted her. And the filly’s name is Scootaloo.”
“Oh.” Flash returned to his stony stance and Supernova could tell the conversation was over. He trotted down towards his and Luna’s room to get his armor for the night shift.
——————————
The next morning Supernova stood on the balcony outside of their room in his armor watching the sunrise when Luna returned from the dream realm right next to him. “Morning honey.” She chimed as she kissed him on the cheek. “I’m going to go see my sister. I trust you will join us soon?”
“Yes of course. I’ll take off my armor and bring your gift when I’m done.” And Luna trotted out of the room.
——————————
Luna was once again pacing with anxiety. “What if he doesn’t like it?” She asked her sister nervously.
“Why wouldn’t he like it?” She replied, which made Luna’s heart beat faster.
“What if he doesn’t want it!? What if he hates me!?”
“Why are you so nervous? He’ll love it. Trust me.” Luna calmed down at Celestia’s reply.
“Okay sister. I trust you.” Supernova opened the door and walked over to Luna. He presented to her the same wrapped box that she had asked what it’s content was last night.
With the deepest bow he could muster he held the gift up to her. “Your present, Mistress Moon.”
Luna giggled slightly and got into character. “You were wise to bring me this loyal subject.” She bellowed in a voice as deep as Nova’s bow. The two burst into laughter. After regaining his composure he gave Luna the present and she took off the wrapping paper.
It revealed a slim black box with a fire logo on it. She opened the box and peeked inside. She audibly gasped at what she saw. It was a beautiful black necklace with a quarter moon locket encrusted with diamonds. She opened the locket to see a photo of her, Celestia, and Nova in a picture they had taken four days earlier when they had a large snowball fight.
Nova could tell Luna was starting to tear up. “Do you like it?”
“I love it!” She replied as she hugged him. “It’s perfect.” Celestia got up and gave Luna and Nova her gifts. She was deeply nervous as to wether or not she had chosen the right gifts for them. As they started to open the gifts she only got scared.
They opened their gifts to reveal... matching scarves. Celestia had a scarve on already. They we’re yellow and black with blue mixed in. “Surprise?” Celestia’s question-like saying of this made Luna roll her eyes.
“They’re fine Tia. We really like them.” She glared at Nova. “Right?”
Nova gulped. “Right! They’re perfect.” Although Nova did like them, he was sure that he might be sleeping on the couch tonight.
“A- are you sure?” Celestia asked. “I really had no idea what to get you two and I don’t think it was enough I mea-“
“Tia I already have what I want every single day.” Luna hugged her sister. After letting go she picked up her present, a long narrow box. In Nova’s hooves it felt light as air. “Oh! I almost forgot to give Tia her present!” She levitated a larger box towards her sister.
Celestia opened the box to reveal another matching scarve. A quick wink from Luna made a flustered Celestia look away. “It’s from both of us.” Luna stated. “Okay, now it’s your turn Novy!” She turned to face him as he slowly opened the tie on top, agitating Luna. “Just open it already!”
“I’m working on it.” He replied. “I want it to last.”
“Well the gift is going to last a long time.”
“All the better.” He had fully removed the tie and was inching open the lid. After the lid was off he looked inside to see a scroll. He removed the ribbon holding the scroll together. The scroll opened to reveal a large neon pink plus sign on a documented sheet.
He looked up from the sheet with wide eyes. “You mean...”
“Heh heh...” Laughing nervously was all Luna could do. “Surpriseeeeeeee?” Nova jumped up and whooped loudly. He hugged Luna tight. “You like it?”
“It’s exactly what I wanted.”
