Unloved
I can see no Light from within this Abyss
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAs we turned our backs and shifted away from the door, the door opened on itself revealing the same cell that Fluttershy and I were held in, with only a new feature. A large gaping hole descending downwards. I dropped the glowstick as it defied gravity, just like in the well. I explained to the girls who wern’t familiar with this sequence on what to do, as Rarity prepared to jump into my arms again.
We sprung forward as we descended downward. A quick flash of light appeared before my eyes, as I was isolated from the girls. I appeared within a new holding cell, as I called out to the girls. They all responded, and just to make sure, I asked if any of them were hurt. None of them claimed to be hurt. We had no idea how we were going to escape this time in our new cells. I peered to look out from the bars, to see those circular round levers near the entrances of the cells.
Fluttershy was contained within a cell to my right as I saw Twilight within the cell to my left. I looked around of the features of the room of the outside of my cell. A large demonic stone door was opposite to our cells within this room while my eye caught something to the left. A red pressure switch with no way to press it from here. I withdrew my Glock 19 and aligned the sights dead center of the circle switch. I squeezed off a round while the bars around me collapsed to the ground. This opened Applejack’s cell to the left of me, as she galloped to pull the lever to the left cells containing Pinkie, Twilight and Rarity. I pulled the lever to the right to release the bars from Fluttershy’s and Dash’s holding cell. Fluttershy ran over to me and hugged me once more, as the sequence of levers activated the demon stone wall.
The demon stone wall lowered itself into the metallic ground as a fat slob walked in to inspect the commotion. It raised its fireball launchers at us while we diverted to the left and right squeezing off rounds into the bloated beast. We went through the lowered demon stone wall and made our way to the left of a hallway, only to reveal another illiterate note laying on a metal bureau. I read it aloud to the group:
I’ts olny aetfr w’eve lsot ervhetiyng
Taht we are fere to do ayhinntg.
Ok....moving on then.
We made our way down a metal staircase to the left of the note. We jogged leftwards to reveal a long hallway luminated with metallic candles and mutilated corpses hanging behind recessed bars. At the end of the hallway was a white skull switch, only to reveal one of the largest monster encounters on this journey. We sprinted back the left of the hallway where we entered, and told the girls to go prone for when the monsters come. The sounds of electro-static balls, fireballs and rockets being launched, monsters screeching and clawing at one another, and shotguns discharging from formal humans into other monsters echoed down the hall toward us as we waited for the surviving monsters. A dozen brown humanoid remained standing as all of us finished off our mags into them.
“Darling, it appears I ran out of ammo in my exclusive rifle. I'll be switching to my elegant sidearm.” Rarity annonced to me as she glanced to see she had no more preloaded mags in her vest. Twilight’s battle rifle ran dry as well.
We paced outselves down the sharp corners of the hallway, glancing to the left of another cell with a dead search party member blasted from the formal human shotguns. We made our way to a few bars which blocked further access, as we descended down a flight of stairs. The same familar laughing woman stalked us yet again, as all of us looked toward the ceiling as we traveled down.
Three fat slobs ascended from the ground, pointing and discharging their flame cannons at us. We strafed to the left and sprinted to a wooden door. Twilight opened with her magic as she lead us all inside. A metal broken door slammed behind us as Rarity barely made it inside. We were now in a long narrow hallway that was caked with blood. The floor was made from some kind of hard cartilage, with blood steaks that continued from each side of the walls. We had the option of taking the right or left door at the end of the hall. We chose to venture in the right wooden doorway.
There inside was a demonic rumble from a formal human wearing body armor, and aimed a AT4 rocket launcher directly toward us. I made sure that it couldn’t discharge it’s rocke tlauncher at us, by squeezing a few rounds into its skull, as bone fragments traveled though the air. Twilight holstered her 92FS while picking up the AT4.
“Save that rocket in case we really need it in the future.” I told her as she acquired her new weapon.
“You got it.” Twilight responded to me.
That leaves the 6 of use with firepower now, with one member only using her side arm. I feared for the ammo count of the rest of the group, as we cannot take these large group of monsters head on anymore. We needed more strategy.
We made our way back to the hallway and to the left bloodied wooden door. The left door opened into another landing with metallic stairs desending downward, with another note on a wooden bureau. Twilight used her magic to examine the note as she attempted to read the illiterate writing aloud:
If you strae itno the asybs lnog eonugh
The asbys straes bcak at you.
“Hey...I know that quote!” Twilight exclaimed to the group.
“Well...what’s it from egghead?” Rainbow Dash asked in response.
“Its from a human german philosopher who wrote a great deal of infamous quotes. If you stare into the abyss long enough, the abyss stares back at you....” I though about that quote for awhile.
Did it mean...us, as humanity as a whole? Are we our own enemy? Or whoever was writing these illiterate quotes has been watching us this whole time? I couldn’t let this quote boggle my mind as we descended down the flight of stairs.
We stopped midpoint to another landing with pinned faces on the wall, and traveled yet again down another flight of stairs into a strait enlongated cage. Metallic candles seemed to float from around the cage off from a distance. We looked around as it seems, we were venturing though a dark abyss of sorts.
I was starting to become consumed by the fact that this serial killer wasn’t human at all, and this whole place seemed like a large representation....of it's mind. We walked onward, when I heard more loud whispering as we drew near a wooden door at the end of the cage. We opened the door and stumbled into a metallic catacombs of sorts. A block of metal was near a metallic candle revealing a section of wall removed, where a dead search party member made his bold last stand.
A shadow figure launched a fireball at us from the right side, where Rarity used her nickle plated 1911 to terminate it. Another dead search party member laid on a catacomb wall. We encountered more shadow figures as we progressed forwards. We reached a turning point in the catacombs, where three of Celestia’s royal guards laid dead on a metal grid with sections of their rib cages missing and their eyes....completely torn out. After seeing all of the mutilated human bodies, it was rare to see some of Celestia’s royal guards lay dead, since most of them had the power of magic. The sight disturbed the girls deeply, as it affected Twilight the most.
We made our way to the right where a metallic candle illuminated a wooden door. Another metal catacomb maze, with more of Celestia’s royal guards...lifeless on the ground. One of the guards was gutted and hanging from a rope, the other impailed on a metal spike, and another with half of his lower torso missing. Whatever the unfortunate guards encountered in here must have been pretty damn powerful.
We ran into more of the shadow figures hiding in dark crevasses in the catacombs, taking turns within the group putting them down. We made our way into a room with four of Celestia’s royal guards corpses were in the process of being mutilated, by the monster Fluttershy and I first saw in the house.
A giant, muscular bi-pedal pink skinned goat thing turned and launched a green corossive ball at us, hitting and corroding a mutilated body. The girls did not take kindly to this monster, as Applejack unloaded her entire tubular magazine into the monster and tried to buck it. The monster grabbed Applejacks leg and lifted her off from the ground. I though in panic.
“Aim for it's arm girls!” I screamed, while we shot at its buldging bicep. The arm became completely severed where the pink goat thing screamed in pain at the green stump of what remained it’s arm. Applejack crawled away while Twilight walked calmly over to the screaming goat and emptied an entire mag into its head. It laid motionless afterwards.
Beyond the four guards corpses, was an exit to the metal catacombs. The door slammed behind us as we made our way toward a brick wall. Four normal goat things teleported from thin air in front of us, with one in the back of us. We sprinted in the gap of the middle of the goat things while Rarity used her magic to open the door. We tripped forward thinking it was going to be another room, instead we all fell into a large gap where a floor was ususally present. The laws of gravity didnt seem to apply as we floated downward into a small 6 by 6 foot room.
A metal broken door opened as another AT4 formal human attempted to aim at us. I aimed for it's head and carried on. Another AT4 formal human waited at the end of the hall as Rainbow dash shot it in the chest. We left the AT4’s there, as none of us had room to carry them with us.
The next area was a large open pit, where it cotained a series of demonic skull switches that had to be pressed one after another. We ran from switch to switch, avoiding and dodging the reign of monsters while they fought within groups of each other. A new type of monster was present at the fray, a mechanical four legged spider brain with blue eyes launched a volley of plasma at us, hitting a pink goat thing...not making it too happy. After locating the finall demonic skull switch, a large shriek from a inhumane monster with four mechanical legs stomped in, as it sensed us in the pit.
Only a few pink goat things with their cousin goat things remained pursuing us. When we turned the corner, all seven of us got a good detailed glimpse of the enormous monster with four mechanical legs. It was a larger version of the spider brain thing, with red eyes complete with black pupils, and wires flowing in all directions of its massive brain as stubby arms protruded from its side. It had shark like teeth, and had a large 20mm vulcan chaingun in the middle of its metal chassis, aimed directly at us.
“Run under it girls!” I yellwed as we were almost face to face with the monster.
They instinctively did as they were told, while we ran and ducked under the large stainless steel metal chassis of the monster. It shrieked as corrosive green balls trailed it’s way, hitting the monster with several blows. The monster diverted its attention to the goat things while the vulcan chaingun rotated. It fired what sounded like a synchronous blast of cannons, firing off at the group of goats, cutting the normal goat things into two like swiss cheese. The only monsters that stood a chance to the spider demon were the pink goats, where they hoplessly lasted a few seconds while being cut down by the depleted uranium rounds. While cutting down the last pink goat thing, the spider demon diverted its attention back to us. I told Twilight to ready the AT4. I spotted a tragic flaw within the design of this spider demon. The metal legs had exposed wiring and were vulnerable to small arms fire, as I saw it stuggle from a hit from a corrosive fireball.
I told Pinkie to aim for the exposed wiring within the legs, as we strafed for cover everytime the spider demon's chaingun barrels started to rotate. After about 30 minutes of chasing and hitting the exposed wiring, the mechanical chassis failed and the spider demons legs collapsed. We went around to the back side of the spider demon and I told Twilight to ready the AT4. I told her where to aim, as she disengaged the safety switch on the launcher.
“Now!” as a shockwave left the launcher as the rocket crashed right into the base of the brain.
The spider demon imploded as its brain matter flew all over the place. The girls cheered in victory while a door opened within the pit. The spider demon was guarding a room, with the three skulls we were looking for. I advanced into the room as I lifted the red skull, Dash took the blue while Fluttershy took the yellow. It was time we finally focused on making our way back home. We retraced our path all the way back to the cells, where a ceramic door required a red skull to open the door. I extended my arm and pointed the red skull to the door, as the door opened up and revealed the maze of cages from where we first looked for Rarity from before. We made our way back to the original odd looking mirror, that contained the missing gear for the gear room.
All seven of us touched the mirror as we rematerialized into the serial killers house for the final time. As we made our way to the left of the house for the faded city, my eyes caught a note on a small fridge that I must have missed from before. Along the side of the note...was a piece of my old kidney. It was completely cooked as I picked it up, and I almost threw up in my mouth as the girls looked at me in confusion. The only one who had any idea what was going on right now was Fluttershy, as she pranced over to me and wrapped her arm around my back. Twilight looked over the note and read aloud to us.
From Hell
I sned you hlaf the kiedny I took
Form one mna peerversd it for you
The oethr peice I ferid and ate
It was vrey nice
“That’s from....Jack the Ripper.” Twilight announced to the group.
Jack the Ripper? The Zodiac Killer? There was no way in hell it could have been a human being then... as one killer was from the 1800’s while the other killer was from the 1960’s.
“Girls....whatever this thing is...writing these messages...isn’t human at all...” I told the group.
“I dont ever want to meet this thing. Let's focus on getting the fuck out of here. Im starting to hate this thing...for putting us though hell like this. None of you girls deserve this at all.” I told the group in anger.
We heard footsteps pertruding from upstairs, when the whole entire house experienced a rattling that shook the place like a type 1 earthquake. Minutes later...absolute silence. Whatever was prancing back and forth from the third story of this house...was gone.
“Let’s go girls......”
