A Forced Adventure Into Another World
The future, an expanding concept of alternate paths and possible outcomes. For some, deciding what would come of the future would be impossible, but for those that saw the world as a line, their paths were almost as simply planned out as a child when deciding their future career of being an astronaut or a fire-fighter.
But for some like Dusk Shine, the future just became a bit more, well, interesting. For Dusk, his future had always been so, as he planned, simple; he would work for the prince of Equestria as his right-hoof stallion, start a family with one foal, and continue to work for prince Artimace until the day he died. But, After an event involving his friends and their quirk-marks, the idea, the mere concept of death was nothing more than a fantasy for Dusk Shine, the New Pince of Friendship.
The day following his transformation, a small dinner with his sister, brother-in-law, the princes of Equestria, and his friends would take place. The festivities were nice, a little show and song-number were done by a local band they hired in the newly liberated Crystal Empire and a nice few talks between us here and there. After that, the dinner had ended, and with the wine and hard cider going to some of the guest heads, they decided to call it a night, Dusk Shine, being the stickler that he was, went to bed completely sober, but his mind was drunk with worries of what the future might hold not just for him, but for his assistant as well.
Lying in his bed, trying to sleep, the unicorn turned alicorn tossed and turned in bed with many thought going through his head, what was he to do? He had only recently become not just a prince, but by proxy, a ruler as well, what was he to do, what was he supposed to do.
As the young stallion was lost in thought, he was quickly brought out of it, by a light tapping on his side. Turning to his right, he saw his number one assistant, his adopted sister, his friend, Barbra, "You alright Dusk?" she asked in the same tone a mother would ask her child.
As much as Dusk wanted to just smile and tell her that everything would be alright, he couldn't really bring himself to do so, with how young Barbra was, it would be easy just to tell her that he was going to be fine, but in a situation like this, things were, different, "Honestly, Barb," he said, "I don't know; I mean, I don't know the first thing about being a prince, for as long as I've been Solaris' student, I never imagined this ever happening to me!"
"I'm sure you'll do fine," the dragoness tried to reassure him, but her caring words fell on deaf ears.
"Solaris knows what I'm gonna do now that I'm a prince, I'll have to go to meetings which will give me no time to study-"
"Dusk-"
"And I'll have to talk with Nobel ponies like Princess Blueblood, which I know is gonna end with her whining about something-"
Barb, slightly annoyed, raised her voice, "Dusk,"
"And not just Nobel ponies, but other ponies of royalty to, you know how bad I am at talking to ponies,"
"Dusk," Barbra growled
"Oh and don't get me started on talking about bearing an heir-"
"DUSK!" Barbra's booming voice brought the fretful stallion out of his trance, which caused him to look at the annoyed drake with a sheepish look,
"Was I rambling again?" he asked in an apologetic tone,
Barbra simply sighed, "Look, I understand this whole thing can be kind of nerve-wracking, but you just have to look at this with rose-tinted glasses, with how smart you are, and what not just you, but what the others have done, I know you'd make a good-ass prince, excuse my language,"
The recently crowned prince of friendship ignored that little part of the speech and took into consideration what the small drake had said, "You have a point Barb," the stallion admitted, "We've taken down ponies like Umbra, Eris, Lord Terik and Chrysalis, before, but," he paused to take a deep sigh, "I just...I don't know, all of this is os new to me,"
Barbra's expression of annoyance had soon turned into that of an almost motherly expression, "Oh Dusk," she proceeded to climb up of the concern prince, "It's gonna be okay, maybe a good night's sleep will make you feel better?"
I doubt it he thought to himself, "Maybe," puffing up his pillow, the stallion placed his head onto it. Just as he did that, Barbra did the same, and hopped down back to her small bed, readying for the next day.
As the two drifted off to sleep, the castle was quiet, not even a single sound of creaking from the castle itself could be heard as it settled. Today, was just another interesting day for Dusk and the gang.
However, a slow, taping of hoof-steps began to emit throughout the alabaster castle. Or more specifically, the sleeping hall, where Dusk Shine and the others slept.
The hooded pony passed through many doors as it made its way through the quadrant, its hooves stopped at one certain door; Dusk Shine's room. Without much hesitation, the pony walked in to see the prince, as well as his assistant sleeping soundly in their beds, this was almost too easy of a mission for the hooded figure, as he expecting a bit more of security in these quarters. But, he wasn't one to look a gifted horse in the mouth, so with hesitant steps, the figure walked over to the small table next to the prince, where a small crown sat, shimmering in the light of the night moon.
This crown was no ordinary crown mind you, but rather, it was Dusk Shine's element; that being most evident by the quirk-mark that was embedded in it
The figure, being of unicorn decent, used his magic to lift up a small saddle bag that he had, and pulled out a replica of the crown. He levitated the original crown, and with much care, proceded to switch out the two golden objects. And Once he placed the fake crown on to the nightstand, he put the real crown into his bag and made his way over to the door. As he was just about to exit, a stray gem that laid on the floor just a few inches away from the door, at that moment the hooded figure accidental stepped on it, which emitted an unusually loud cracking sound.
Dammit the Unicorn though to himself before he heard the rustling of sheets behind him,
"Wha," was all that Dusk could say before getting a good look at the hooded figure walking off, with a sudden rush of fear and adrenaline coursing through his body, the soon-to-be prince let out a loud yell, loud enough for the others to hear, "Theif!" He cried, which caused the figure to dash out of the room with great hast.
As he ran, the door to the other rooms opened, as Dusk's friends looked around in confusion, but that confusion was soon answered when the other elements of harmony saw the hooded pony make a mad dash through the hall,
"What the hell!" Rainbow Blitz shouted in anger, "Come on, let's get 'em" without much hesitation, the group of five, along with a few guards which included Dusk's sister, Gleaming Shield chased after the stallion.
Running as fast as his legs could carry him, he dashed passed doors that were opening to reveal guards ponies or more of Dusk's friends. They couldn’t stop her now. The room he needed to go was just ahead, and not even Dusk's sister, the captain of the guard, could hope to mobilize her soldiers fast enough to capture the thief.
The pony burst through the doors with much force, but the figure was forced to stop in his tracks when he noticed a familiar face, “Evening Glint,” Prince Solaris sternly said, standing right between the hooded pony and the artifact. “It’s been too long. Five years?”
That exchange was all the time it took for the Element Bearers to rush into the room behind her. A lesser pony would be shaking in their boots right about now. Evening Glint only smiled. Behind him, Dusk shouted, “I don’t know who the hell you are, but I think I'd be best for you to give me my crown back.”
Evening ignored him, staring right into his old master’s eyes. “No hard feelings, Sir, but you’re about to find out just how much more capable I am.”
Brows of Solaris' eyes furrowed “I don’t want to hurt you,” Prince Solaris said. “There is an anti-teleportation spell surrounding this castle, and you have nowhere to run. Empty your bags now, or face the—”
Evening's body flashed, and just like that, he had done just what the tall prince had said couldn’t be done. An anti-teleportation field was, after all, only a series of spells design to cancel out conventional spells by ‘changing’ the average magic flow of the caster and their surrounding, and Evening Glint was far from average.
The hooded figure took one more look at the group, "Looks like the students become the master, huh Solaris?" He then jumped into the mirror, back to the world that, for the past five years, he had called home.
Once Glint was gone, the room was quiet, as everypony merely stared at the mirror in shock and confusion. However, that quiet would not last, as Pinkie would be the first to speak, "What the hay was that about!" Rather than answer the shocked mare, Solaris walked up to the mirror and place his horn on it, and using his magic, did something that would shock almost everyone in the room; the reflective surface was at once replaced by a backdrop of a dark vortex, in which glowing orbs were floating about. Getting a better look at the mirror, a realization had hit Dusk Is that...the mirror that Starswirhad discovered?
The room remained silent for almost half a minute, all eyes on the display, waiting for an explanation. “Okay.” Solaris lifted his head, and the mirror surface reverted to glass “I think we're all clear,"
Just as he said that the Prince's younger, reformed sister, walked over to her sibling with concerned eyes, “Brother,” Luna said. “Was that her?” Solaris nodded. “So the reports of her being spotted in Canterlot…?”
“A diversion, no doubt,” her brother replied. “So we wouldn’t suspect he would be coming back for it.”
“You can quit playing the pronoun game anytime now,” Rainbow Blitz remarked. “Whoever that bastard was, he just stole Dusk Element. So it's probably for the best we try to stop him.”
The fatherly prince sighed deeply, "My little ponies," he said, "I have some that I must tell you, I can no longer keep this secret to myself,"
"Brother, are you sure," Luna asked with a concerned expression but was met with a nod by her brother.
"Yes," he replied simply before turned back to face the others, "You see before Dusk became my student, that stallion you just say run through that portal was a former student of mine," collective gasps and shocked expressions went around the room, "So many years ago, I took Evening in like a son, I taught him everything as I have with other students before, with high hopes that he too would benefit our country in the continued spreading of our message of harmony-" The sadden prince looked down at the ground with dejected eyes, "but, it seemed that even those under my teachings are still able to sub come to greed. "
The Prince looked back up at the group "It was only so many years ago that Evening made this," he pointed over to the swirling mirror, "This is a portal, connected to a whole other world, created entirely by magic. One of many worlds brought into existence by a lost spell of Sunwhirl the mystic."
"A spell by Sunwhirl herself!?" Dusk exclaimed with shock
Solaris simply nodded, "Exactly," he said, "For the longest time, this artifact was withheld from the public, as the Arch council felt that, unless properly contained, could become unstable quickly. When he made the mirror, Glint was still but a colt and did not yet realize the danger. What he did five years later, however, he did it knowing the dangers that would come of it.
"He would return to Canterlot in an attempt to continue his illegal research; I was able to stop him, but, that’s when things became heated between us. Glint felt that I had betrayed him, that I was holding him back from reaching his potential, and he swore that he would return to overpower me one day. And after that, he left through that mirror never to be seen again,"
Once he was finished, he cast his eyes once more to the ground and his sister went over to console him, "Oh brother," she cooed, "Please do not blame yourself, you had to do what was right,"
"I know," he sighed, "But nonetheless, I am partly responsible for what has happened; thus, it is my duty to set things right,” he cast a look at the mirror, "I don’t know what my former student is planning, but I do know that were I to face him now, I might struggle to keep my head clear-" Solaris turned his expression over to his other former student, "it falls upon you Dusk Shine, in order to save not just Equestria, but all of this world, you must stop Evening Glint before it's too late, are you prepared to do that?"
There was a short silence that fell upon the room when Solaris said that Dusk was already worried about what was to come with this new form of his, but not only going after a dangerous terrorist but saving the world as well..."Sir, I don't-" Before he could even finish, Dusk as suddenly hit behind his back, "Ah!" he turned to see that it was AppleJack who had done it, "What the hell AJ!"
"Look here partner," he began sternly, "I know bein' a prince an everything's kind gotta all jittery, but now's not the time to be shaking in yer horseshoes,"
"Yeah come one man." Blitz Joined in, "It's not like anything's different, we'll still be with ya most of the way,"
"Actually," Solaris began, "This is going to be a solo mission," a resounding 'what' echoed through the room, "I'm sorry, but your presence in that would only disturb it much more, I cannot risk that happening," Once again, a sense of worry washed over the purple alicorn at those words, how was somepony like him going to do this on his own?
Before he could even speak again, another hoof, this time just wrapping around the stallion gently, began to pat the back of his head. Turning to his right, Dusk saw that Butterscotch was comforting him, "It'll be fine Dusk," he reassured, "I know it's gonna pretty weird without us, but you're capable of doing this,"
"As much as it sucks to just be stuck here, Scotch's got a point," Rainbow Blitz said, "You saved out flanks after that whole quirk-mark mix-up, I know you can do this!"
By this point, the other elements began to cheer for Dusk, even Luna was cheering for him too. I'm still not sure about this Dusk though to himself, but, for the fate of Equestria- he turned back to the others with a determined expression, "You can count on me Prince Solaris!" Dusk turned back to the mirror with a renewed vigor and began walking towards it.
Dusk's eyes lined up with the swirls, his heart was beating out of his chest, they say you can't really choose what happens in your future, but I guess that's why they call it destiny, right? The stallion looked back at his friends one more time, before he walked through, his body being enveloped by the whirls.
As he walked, the other stared back at him his smile of determination and concern, but a certain drake looked on his absolute fear, she had always been worried about Dusk whenever these sorts of world ending events happened, but going to another world to stop it, was out of the question for Barb. She couldn't simply stand by and let Dusk do it alone.
Without a second's though Barbra ran after the stallion, much to the cries of the others, she bumped into Dusk causing the both of them to enter the portal.
The very second they entered, everything went white, and then, they were unconscious.
Welcome to Kantarotto Academy Mr. Shine! Part I
Back around the later part of the nineteenth century, Japanese migrant workers immigrated to America to work on the newly developed railroad system in the United States. With this new system, many from Asia began to immigrate over to the west, and rather than sending them back over to their respective countries so quickly, some of the Asian workers were allowed to stay in the country, and because of that, their culture began to spread and mix between America and Japan.
As the decades went one, and with a strong partnership forming between America and Japan, innovations of new structures, technology, and other such things had largely changed the country and soon larger influences of Japanese culture began to affect even the smallest of towns. Anime became the biggest thing around the forties animation boom, structures of dojo's and other such buildings in public areas were preserved or created, electronic districts like Akihabara would be created in Neo Broadway and traditional clothing of both cultures such as geisha's or Victorian-era dresses that would be adored by much of the public.
This is not the story of how such a country came to be, but what would enter not just their country, but their world as well.
For a group of five seemingly average teens, their lives in the Oregonian suburban-city of Kyanta would change forever.
The mid-morning sky was a nice blue color, and not a cloud hung in the sky. Over at a local high school, the academic day went on as normal, students were going to their respective classes, teachers going to and fro to their classes, the cherry trees and Malus trees that were planted parallel to the school were rustling in the low breeze.
Amongst these trees, there was a large statue of a nineteenth-century general riding into battle on his stead. Now there wasn't really anything strange about that, what was strange, however, were the two unconscious teenagers that laid in front of the statue, both of them had raven black hair.
The first of the two teens was a boy who laid on his back, he wore a crimson read school dress jacket as well as a red tie that complimented it. Next to the boy was a girl, who was smaller in comparison to the boy, and unlike him, she wore a long-sleeved seifuku, or a school sailor uniform to be exact, the color was a navy blue and the bow for it was a simple red color.
In a matter of seconds, the boy began to stir awake as his eyes twitched at the brightness and air that surrounded him.
The girl to the right of him began to do the same, and again unlike him, she opened her eyes slowly and began to get up, "Uhh," she moaned loudly, as her head swirled with trying to figure out what happened, "Where are we?" The girl said in a hushed voice as she began looking around her surroundings.
In that very second, her eyes shot wide open, not because of the grass of the statue, but because of what she saw on her own body, by Solaris' beard! the raven-haired girl stared at her hands, and instead of the purple, scalie color they were, there were soft, and they had a skin texture akin to that of a minotaur, but they were a beige color.
She turned to the unconscious boy with fretful eyes, "Dusk," she shouted, placing her hand on to him and shaking him up, "Dusk!"
"Huh," after a few good shakes, Dusk Shine finally woke up, "Barb? What are you-" before he could even continue, the beige boy looked down to not only see his new hands but his new feet as well, suffice to say he was very shocked by this new discovery, "Wh-whaa..." Dusk, in all of his great glory, passed out at the discovery of this.
Barbra's expression of worry immediately changed to annoyance at the sight of her adopted brother passing out again, "Ah, Geez," she moaned before standing up to look around the area they were in. From the looks of it, the statue in the front yard, the trees lining the sides of the front, the gate that stood between the building and the rest of the neighborhood, it seemed obvious, It looks like a school of some sort, Barb thought to herself as she looked at the decor.
The school looked pretty average, it was a big enough building, the bricks were a salmon color, and there was a small fountain in the middle of the pathway to the front doors of the school, "Huh," Barbra murmured, "This looks pretty nice,"
The former dragoness was about to take her first steps over to the academy but stopped when someone's voice caught her attention, "Hey," Barbra turned her head, and saw a pale-beige biped, that looked close to the same species as Barbra and Dusk, with long, strawberry-blonde hair, one of his bangs covering his eye. The teen began running up to the two with a concerned expression.
Once he had made it to the both of them, he gave out a few breaths before straightening himself up, "Is that guy alright?" the teen pointed to Dusk Shine, who laid beside the statue.
...
...
There was a light, a bright light that slowly began to morph in Dusk's vision. He wasn't sure what was going on, was he in the infirmary of the Canterlot Castle? Did Prince Solaris carry him there? those sorts of questions filled his head as he began to wake.
Once his eyes were half open, he looked around the room and saw many things that would fit the description of an average public school nurses office: a cabinet filled with medical supplies that held everything sans a few bottles of medicine, an office desk near the front door of the room, and a row of table beds that stood behind a white curtain in the back.
But one of the major things that took Dusk completely off guard was what he saw in the window to the right of him. In front of him, there were two creatures that he had never seen in his entire life; the first was a bipedal creature with a strawberry blonde mane, and next to him was a somewhat familiar bipedal creature, who appeared to be a mare, with raven black hair, "What in Equestria?" he said with great confusion.
The moment he said that the two creatures turned to the former alicorn with relieved smiles, "Dustin!" the raven-haired girl, who sounded a lot like a certain dragon assistant, ran into the office to hug Dusk Shine.
Dustin? Dusk Shine repeated in his head.
The girl released Dusk from her hug, "I'm so glad you're awake, Dustin," the girl said one more, putting more emphasis on the name.
Before Dusk could respond, the beanie-wearing man spoke up, "I found you near the statue in the front," he explained, "You were totally passed out,"
"I guess he might have been really tired," The girl, who Dusk was positive was Barbra, suggested before awkwardly laughing.
The boy chuckled as well, "Yeah, just be sure to get some more sleep alright?" Dusk Shine, still confused by the events unfolding in front of him, simply nodded, "good-" the teen boy's eyes suddenly widened, "Oh crap I forgot to introduce myself-" he held out his hand, "My name's Buckley Shou, but you can just call me Buck, it's nice to meet you,"
Dusk Shine stared at his hand, unsure of how to go about grabbing the odd appendage. Gran it, he's seen the same type of part from the Minotuarian diplomats, but to see it without any fur was somewhat, queer to the former alicorn.
Deciding not to let the hand linger, Dusk quickly took his hand in an awkward position that caused him to grab Buck's entire hand, and slowly shook it, "It's uh, nice to meet you too," he greeted with an awkward look, the same expression was displayed on the pale teen.
Once Dusk, or Dustin, had released the teen's hand, he got up form the leather bed, and walked over to his assistant, "Well," he began, "I appreciate you taking me over here, but I should probably get going," Dusk was about to walk over to the door, but that was before Barbra grabbed the boy by his shirt, causing him to stop, "Barb?" he questioned as he looked over at his dragon turned human friend.
Barbra had a large smile on her face, but, something about that smile that felt disingenuous; like she was just faking it. Barbara giggled, in an almost forcefully faked way, before speaking to Dusk, "Bro," she said, "Aren't you forgetting something?"
Dusk looked at the girl in confusion, they had only just arrived in this world not too long ago, what could have they possibly lost in that span of time? In that very second, before Dusk could question him, a sudden realization struck him, Oh right, how could have I forgotten? The former Alicorn turned to Buck, "Um, excuse me," he asked, which got the attention of the pale boy who was previously straightening the bed sheets, "Yes, I was wondering, uh, have you seen anypony around here by the name of Evening Glint?" the moment those words left his mouth, an expression of not only confusion but bewilderment, was etched on his face.
"Uh...no, I haven't seen anyone by that name," he stated, awkwardly, "Uh, did you just say, anypony? "
Dusk simply stared back at the teen with a cocked eyebrow, while Barbra simply faced palm at his leisure usage of the word, "Yes, why?"
Before Buckley could respond, the door to the nurses room open, and walking in was a dark-ginger haired woman with blue eyes and a neutral expression. The moment she entered the room, the question that he was going to ask Dusk left his mind as he turned to face the woman, "Oh, hey Ms. Redheart," the boy greeted as he waved his hand to the lab-coat-wearing woman. As she walked, upon hearing her name, both Barbra and Dusk grew an expression of surprise; for as long as they have lived in Ponyville, they knew of another mare with the same name. And while it could be a simple coincidence, it was almost too coincidental for her to have the same name as that exact mare.
The nurse waved back at the teen, "Hello Buckley," she greeted before sitting at her desk.
Nurse Redheart looked over at the two teens, who were staring at her with faces wonder, "Um, are you two okay," she asked, off-put by the stares they were giving her.
While Barbra quickly noticed her gazing was going on longer than needed, Dusk was still a little dumbfounded by the name, "Oh sorry," Barbra quickly apologized, "We thought we saw something on your shoulder-" she turned to her non-blood sibling and gave him a sharp jab with her elbow, prompting him to yelp out in pain, as he glared at her, "Right Dustin?"
"Yeah, sure," he muttered, as he continued to give the girl a stink-eye.
The nurse, laughed a bit at the girl's action, "Well, alright then," Redheart then looked down at her watched, and then with quick reflexes, turned to the pale teen behind her, "Hey Buckley, doesn't your class startup about now?"
In that second, realization struck the pale teen, and, quickly grabbing for his crimson red blazer and single-strap backpack he made a dash towards the door, "Oh crap," he exclaimed, "I'm gonna be late!" The quickening step of his foot's steps was the last thing they heard o the pale boy.
As the boy's running began to fade out, the nurse looked over to the other two students, or more specifically, Barbra, "You too miss..." Nurse Redheart paused, waiting for a response from the girl.
"Barbra," she stated, "Barbra..." the girl began frantically looking around the room for anything she could use as a last name. Her searches quickly stopped once her eyes landed on a framed picture of a German Shepherd, "Shepherd,"
"Miss Shepherd," the nurse repeated with the addition of the suffix, "From the look of your uniform, shouldn't you be going to Drachenland Academy right now?"
"Oh," she said in realization, as she mentally prepared a lie to tell the nurse "Well I'm a transfer students, and I hadn't gotten the chance to get my new uniform," once she finished, Barbra hoped that her lie was believable enough.
Luckily for her, the nurse simply smiled at the two, "Alright then," she said, before turning back to her book, "well, if there's nothing else, then you too are dismissed," with that said, she waved her hand off in a dismissive motion.
Taking a note of this Dusk was, again, about making his way over to the door, but quickly stopped himself, as he remembered his mission once again, "Actually," he began, "There is one thing."
"And what would that be," she asked as her eyes still on her journal as she wrote in it.
"Well," Barbra said, as she quickly interjected before Dusk could speak again, "Do you know anyone with the last name, Glint?"
The nurse hummed a bit, as she leaned back in her chair and tapped her chin with a pen, "Hmm, can't say I haven't" she admitted, causing both of the students to sigh dejectedly, "but if you are looking for him, try going over to the Headmaster's office, if there's anyone here with most of the knowledge of the students it's him; just go down the east-hall and you'll find him on the right side,"
The two's dejected expressions were quickly replaced with ones of hope as their eyes brightened with that information, "Oh-" The two of them simultaneously bowed at the nurse, "Thank you, ma'am," the two of them straightened up and quickly walked out of the room, leaving behind a somewhat confused, yet flattered, nurse.
"Well," Nurse Redheart said, "those two are certainly interesting," Redheart returned back to her journal and continued writing. As she did, however, a sudden thought struck her, "Or, was it the west hall?"
The halls of the academy were relatively empty, most of the students we in their classrooms or going about their activities. This was, of course, the product of a lazy, average, schoolday; but this was no average school day, that much could be seen as the two native equestrians were making their way over to the headmaster's office.
During the remainder of their brisk walk through the halls, the two were talking about not only what had transpired earlier, but what was going on, "So," Dusk began, "What was with that whole, Dustin thing?" he asked, curious about the name.
Barbra turned to Dusk, "Oh, well the thing about that is, from what I discovered, the names here are a lot different than in Equestria," she explained, "It's sort of like Griffonstone or the Dragon Lands, in that their names hold more of a meaning rather than a legitimate adjectives and nouns words,"
"Oh," the ravened haired teen sighed in realization, "That would explain that stallion's name, I knew that there was something off about it,"
"And that's not all," she continued, "Apparently, the language and grammar they use are entirely different, like instead of anypony they say-" before she could continue, Barbra suddenly bumped shoulders with another student who was absent-mindedly reading his book.
The dragon-girl, with an annoyed expression, looked up to see who had done it, "Hey watch-" but in that second, Barbra stopped mid-sentence, as she gazed at the tall, well-dressed man in front of her: like with Buck, he wore the same uniform, but physically, he was much more refined.
His dark brown hair shined greatly in the light that shone through the window, he was lean and taller than Dusk, and he wore a small pair of reading glasses on his face. Barbra's expression of annoyance, quickly disappeared, as a love-struck one quickly took over.
To Dusk, of course, there was nothing special about this biped, but to Barbra, it seemed that her knight in shining armor had arrived.
With an embarrassed expression on his face, the well-dressed man quickly apologized, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry," he said in his proper English accent, "I really should watch where I am going-" he looked over to the dumbfounded Barbra, his bright blue eyes penetrating her heart, "Are you alright Madam?"
Barbra's face had taken on the complexion of a tomato, as she gazed at the refined lad. She wasn't sure what to do, how was she supposed to recover from this? "W-well, I-I," her stuttering had worsened, even when she tried to simply answer him.
Taking notice of his sister's nervous stutter Dusk grinned and quickly stepped in, "Oh, sorry about my sister, she's new to this country, and can't really speak the language," Barbra turned to her brother with an expression of betrayal and shock, "But just try to speak slowly to her,"
"Oh, I see," the teen responded, before speaking to the girl, who had sharply turned her head back to the boy with the same reddened expression, in a slower tone, "It is nice to meet you, my name is Edwin Belle, I am the head of the student council," Barbra was speechless as the boy's face was close to her's.
Edwin, finished with his introduction, straightened up, and continued on his way, but not before waving at the two as he did so.
Once he was gone, Dusk began sniggering, which then turned into a full-on laugh at his sister's embarrassment, "Oh Solaris," he exclaimed, taking a few breaths between each laugh, "The look on your face was priceless!"
As the former alicorn continued to laugh, a dark expression of anger had taken over Barbra, her eyes simmering with rage as she stared the laughing Dusk Shine, and without a second's thought, completely blinded by anger, Barbra ran to the boy, "You bastard!" her roar seemed to catch Dusk off guard, but before he knew, it was already too late.
Dusk was not at all expecting it, but the strength behind the former dragon's push was a lot stronger than he remembered; perhaps he could chalk it up to the portal they went through, or the world's effect they had on them, but there was no doubting that he was a great push behind her act.
Because of the body type that Dusk had become, the prince was still getting used to walking on two, so it was obvious that his balance was very poor. So poor in fact, that he ended up tripping and falling next to a door that was nearing the end of the hallway, and in an attempt to catch himself, he grabbed on to the handle of the sliding door, "Ah!" but of course, with most physics, a force in motion, stays in motion, and as he fell he caused the door of the unknown room to open.
Once the door was opened, a cacophony of surprised cries filled the room. With a bit of concern and intrigue, Dusk quickly got up to see what had happened. But instead of seeing something life threatening, there merely a few half-naked girls in front of the boy. To Dusk, this wasn't anything major, seeing as most of the ponies in Equestria bearly wore any clothes.
So, without thinking, The boy walking to the room of angry, and terrified, girls, "Oh, so there are more of you," he said in a surprised tone, "I was wondering if-" before he could continue, a ginger-haired girl, wearing nothing but her bra and panties, ran up to the confused boy.
And before he knew it, the girl balled up her fist and punched Dusk in the face so hard that it nearly sent him flying out.
