Seven Very Chilling Mare's Tales
Seven stories to twist your sense of reality and grip your heart in fear. Seven mares in a town called Ponyville. Each twisted and warped. We were warned. We should have listened. We didn't. Let others hear our tales of woe and take heed of our advice; Avoid Ponyville, for those seven are waiting for their next victims.
Story One: "Applejack Sells Apples"
My name was Doug Loremaster. I got off the train at the wrong stop. I ended up lost and confused in Ponyville. The Princess of Friendship introduced me to the other ponies. Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity. On the final introduction I detected a dangerous tone as she says, "This is Applejack, she sells Apples. Try not to interrupt her work."
Everything was going well a week in, I seemed to be the only stallion in Ponyville, when after one of Pinkie's parties I had a bit too much cider and stumbled into Sweet Apple Acres, while the sun is shining overhead. I bumped into Applejack, currently in the middle of bucking apples. That's where my tale begins.
Story Two: "Don't Feed The Bunnies"
My name was Emerald Thornbranch. I've always loved animals. Particularly bunnies. Such wonderful creatures. While visiting my neice in Ponyville I met another wonderful animal lover, named Fluttershy. She was so nice, showing me the different animals of Ponyville and even taking me on hikes through the Everfree. One day while we sat chatting about the different fauna in Equestria, the topic turned to bunnies. I should have listened when I heard her say, "Please don't feed the bunnies."
I did listen! Well, for a while. On my last day in Ponyville I found myself walking alone in the Everfree when I spotted a cute and cuddly bunny approaching me. I pulled out a nice big carrot from my pack and offered it to the small creature. It was so innocent, what could it hurt?
That's where my tale begins.
Story Three: Making Rarity Proud
My name was Opal Shimmersilk. I was a amateur fashion designer in Canterlot. I wasn't very well known, but my customers seemed rather happy with my work, even though I sold my work as a street vendor. I had long since admired fashion and the mare who inspired me most; Rarity. I practiced recreating her work and for many years was told I had some talent. I would have given anything to work with her. It would never happen though, a nopony like me with the Goddess of Modern Fashion? Truly impossible, or so I thought. I came home one night and found an envelope delivered via Derpymail. It was from Rairty's Boutique.
I opened it up and read the words that made my heart soar.
"I have seen your progress and I want to invite you to be an unpaid intern at my Boutique Darling! I will handle all arrangements for your living expenses. I will even permit you to live in my guest bedroom. The only thing I require is you don't disappoint me, like the others in the past. Signed, Rarity"
I couldn't believe it. This was my dream, my absolute wish come true! Quickly I hopped the train to Ponyville with only one thought in mind. Make Rarity proud of me. I entered the boutique feeling confident that I would do just that. It was then I was greeted by a stiff-looking receptionist. She spoke just three simple words as a greeting upon seeing me. "Don't give in."
At that moment Rarity appeared and said, "You must be the new intern. Dah-ling, Welcome to your new life! Welcome to Rarity's Boutique!"
That's where my tale begins.
Story four: Party Games Ponies Play (Contains moderately mature language)
My name was- "HEY! You. Yes you! The one reading this! Pinkie here, of course you bronies and pegasisters out there already know who I am. Anyway this is a story about some unimportant pony who simply couldn't handle my party's awesomeness! I mean seriously! So what if bobbing for apples isn't normally toxic? That just makes it more fun. Don't try to tell me you haven't played "pin the tail on the ursa" before...Wait you haven't? How boring. I mean everypony enjoys my parties. I mean, okay so, Twilight makes it mandatory to attend...and we have penalty games for those who lose the contests, still my parties are the best! It says so on my invitations! OF course I make the invitations silly...why wouldn't I? Hey I have an idea maybe one day you can come to attend a rousing game of "Duck, Duck, Dragon!" Just remember to duck...those dragon flames hurt!"
"Ugh, Pinkie I'm trying to make an intro can you please just-"
"Gee whiz, that's so lame! You make depressing intros anyway! Why not just let them read it!"
"Fine. Just promise me you'll stop after this!"
"Alright alright, sheesh! I promise!"
"No, you have to Pinkie Promise"
"Arrrrgghh...Cross my heart hope to cry stick a cupcake in my eye, there happy, Mr. Writer?"
"Estatic"
Please everyone..just enjoy the story
Story Five: Dash'd ( mature language)
I...don't know what my name is. I'm lost! Surrounded by trees, my head hurts. My wings lay limp and useless. one of them has a bone sticking through it at an odd angle. The rain is coming down in sheets, smacking my face and causing my bruises to sting. My vision is blurry and off in the distance I can hear them. Angry voices, six of them. They are after me! I try to move but it hurts too much. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn to see a Pegasus hovering by me. Her rainbow mane seems familiar. She shouts at me, "You have to get out of here, don't let them get you!"
That is where my tale begins.
Story Six: Atonement
My name was Wendy Seabreeze. For twenty three years, I had called her mom. My parents had gone to a party in tears. That same night an earth pony with pink fur and a outlandishly fluffy tail and mane had told me they were not coming home. "Oh my, your parents were pathetic! If only they had jumped sooner, they might have survived that trip mine. Oh well. Bye!"
I had been taken to the orphanage. It was run by a lilac unicorn. She had greeted me upon arrival with a warm hug and a gentle voice. "You are not alone, welcome to your new home sweetie."
I'm still not sure what it was about her but for some reason I felt relaxed and safe. I can vaguely recall her horn glowing a soft sea green as my mind slowly went blank and I replied. "thank you mommy."
For twenty three years, I had called her mom. Now I assist her at her side in handling those at the orphanage and act as a teacher. I had grown accustomed to assisting mom in her teachings. Mom herself acts as the headmistress, uses her magic to make repairs to the run down building, and is quite adept at healing magic when a young filly hurts herself. Life was absolutely perfect...or so I thought. In this world however, nothing was as it seemed.
Story Seven: Chosen
My name was 6734. You wouldn't know me. Even if you had met me, the castle's magic would have made you forget the second we parted. Not that we would ever have met. Raised in secret, and seperated from the other citizens, my kin and myself were bred, trained, and given one purpose in life. What's our purpose? To serve the Royal Family of Canterlot. Most of us became cooks or maids but amongst the servant ranks there was one that every mare wanted; Personal Servant. To be chosen by a princess to serve them was our dream come true. Or at least it was.
After knocking on our door, Princess Luna entered the servant quarters and every mare went silent. None of my sisters spoke or even breathed. We all waited as she looked about us and back to a scroll before her. Finally she spoke. What she said, changed my life for eternity. "6734, come with me. You have been Chosen."
That is where my story begins.
