Princess Celestia sat atop her throne in the day court. It was nearly time for the Alicorn to lower the sun and for day court to end. She sat with a smile on her face but internally she was extremely frustrated, the nobles were once again asking outrageous proposals.
“No, I am not going to give you all a 10% decrease in taxes, you don’t need it.”
As the nobles themselves argued there defence they brought out papers showing ‘vital’ expenses which came to be a huge pile. Celestial was sick of this.
“I will review your case and if you still want to press it tomorrow then I will make my decision then.”
She picked up the stack of papers and left the room, she grabbed a few papers at random and skimmed them to make sure that this wasn’t a legitimate concern, after the first few she deemed it wasn’t. Celestial entered her room and carefully put the papers in her fireplace and lit a fire. Celestia the lay on her bed after her exhausting day. She fell asleep immediately, when her sister found her there, she just smiled and let Celestial be. Little did Celestial know that she would awaken to a surprise in the morning.
The four shadowy figures were wrapped in there cloaks as they went down the road. One couldn’t make much of them, the smaller two as small as average ponies, if one were a unicorn one would feel the magic obscuring the figure from prying eyes. The second figure was as tall as princess Luna even the cloak couldn’t obscure that and he held himself even under the cloak with a sense of command. The third figure was taller then the second one and lead the way through the night. The figures were trotting toward canterlot to seek an audience with the Diarchs, at this pace they would reach the castle at sunset, a good time the leader recalled to meet the two without disturbing either of the two ponies.
Princess Luna was just closing night court and one could see the sun rising. It had been an uneventful night so she wasn’t all that tired. Luna was going to shut the doors for breakfast when she saw them. Three figures galloping toward the gates, they all wore cloaks and when Luna went to probe them with her magic to identify them, the cloaks held the magic back.
The three figures made it into the castle before the guard went to intercept them, not expecting intruders. The head figure stopped and spoke in a voice that had a tone of authority yet wasn’t truly loud,
“I wish an audience with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna”
*several minutes later*
Princess Luna and Princess Celestial both got quite a surprise at their table. Luna had invited the figures to breakfast due to her curiosity, Celestia was informed and so wasn’t too surprised at the figures, both wondered at the tall ones. As they both sat down 3 of the figures took off their cloaks, the two small ones were deer, they only had small antlers, the deer were twins, same brown fur, same eyes and they both looked kind and respectful. The deer took off their hoods and started to get a look around, however the princesses attentions were drawn to the big one, he took off his hood to reveal a tall elk, big antlers, brown body, he also had a ring on one of his antlers showing he was of a high position in deer hierchy. The middle size deer just melted into the shadows in the corner where he stood
The big one spoke in a voice that was very regal
“greetings Celestia and Luna, it is an honour to meet you, I am Umber, Lord-Regent of Olenia.”
Luna then spoke, hiding her surprise
“we are pleased to meet you, Umber. It has been a millennia since we have hosted Deer in our palace, what brings you here”
Umber replied back “It is unfortunate we couldn’t return under better circumstances but we have a problem. Recently a criminal of ours who we have yet to capture crossed the mountains and came into Equestria, we lost track of him and we were wondering if you could help us capture him again.
Luna and Celestia grew worried, a criminal, they had to bring in some reinforcements, crime in equestria was very low and very petty, maybe an Apple stolen at the most. “We will help you catch your Criminal, in the meantime you are free to stay as long as you want.”
“I am afraid I cannot stay as I have work to do in our kingdom, I Will though leave you
Three of our best trackers.” Umber replied
Then a loud clop reverberated throughout the room startling the princesses, the last hooded figure simply gestures with his head to follow him and the two small deer followed him to the side of the room to converse
Umber spoke again “I will go now, make sure you catch him, he is a threat to your land. Randolph, the deer who refuses to take off his hood, will be here to aid you to capture the criminal” he then sped out the doors. Leaving the two princesses wondering a his speedy exit.
Celestia finally awake after her morning tea walked over to the three trackers, the smaller two bowed to her. “Donner and Blitzen at your command your majesty.” Celestia gestured them to rise, looking at Randolph who had yet to take off his hood. Donner spoke, his voice lower then expected
“Randolph doesn’t talk much, if you have questions ask us.”
Celestia replied,
“who exactly are we chasing and where can he be found?”
Blitzed then spoke,
“we are after the deer named Rudolph...”
*somewhere far north in the crystal empire*
The wind buffeted the reindeer’s face, yet he continued onward, he didn’t have the cloak to obscure, his image but the snow did that well enough, the reindeer looked ahead toward the crystal mountains his way lit up with a red beam!

It had taken but a few moments for Celestia to send a message to Cadence and Twilight. Both messages told them to gather their friends (Husband + daughter also in Cadence’s case) and to come post haste as they were needed. A message was sent back from both in a matter of minutes. In about 15 minutes the Diarchs, the Mane six, and Cadence and her family were all there. It had been a while since a major problem had come up. Also for the first time Flurry Heart was included since she was now old enough to be included
Quickly the group barraged the Diarchs with questions
“What is it!! Did Tirek escape again?” Twilight frantically asked
“is Chrysalis back?!!” Cadence also asked Celestia
“have the Proletariat risen up in Revolution” Pinkie said to strange stares before she shrugged.
After that moment of confusion toward Pinkie the group turned once more to the Diarch’s
“Thankfully none of that has happened, however there is a potential danger. Luna and I have been contacted about a dangerous criminal who has fled into the crystal empire” at that she looked questioningly toward Cadence and Shining Armor
“we can’t guard the entire border, besides most of the empire is inhospitable… who contacted you? Can they be trusted?” shining armor replied.
“that will surprise you I do believe… It was the Deer of Olenia”
Celestia smiled at the shocked expression on Twilight, Cadence, Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor’s faces. The rest just looked confused.
Luna answered the unspoken question
“Yes the deer have a kingdom, now when we refer to deer we do not mean lesser deer like the white-tail deer. Long ago, just before my banishment in fact the deer of Olenia were a proud and powerful kingdom however they isolated themselves after a… long series of Incidents… now they have returned because a dangerous criminal fled to the Crystal Empire.” Luna told their guests.
Celestia then spoke “you can come out now”
Out of the shadows near a corner of the throne room, Donner and Blitzen came out. The main 6 and the royal family of the Crystal Empire all looked toward the Deer. Both of them smiled and walked toward the ponies.
“Hello” Donner said, his low voice surprising the ponies. “Metseuraaga Donner and Blitzen, we are pleased to meet you.”
All the ponies looked at the deer, there brown coats had spots on them that helped them blend into the underbrush and there antlers were an oddity to most ponies.
Then the Ponies were startled by the hooded figure of Randolph. Who emerged behind Donner and Blitzen.
After a quick look behind him Blitzen exclaimed “this mysterious figure is yleinen Randolph.”
The ponies instantly calmed down seeing the Diarchs were calm and the friendly deer were also.
“let us get started princesses, every second we wait Rudolph gets further away” Randolph suddenly spoke, his voice was low and commanding. Before he moved toward the council chambers, his voice surprised everyone, due to most presuming him Donner and Blitzen to be his voice.
“eheheh… we better follow him… yeah lets go.” Blitzen stammered before he followed Randolph.
Donner then led the ponies toward the council chambers before he took his place beside Blitzen. The ponies all sat down on the other side of the table. The ponies were genuinely curious of these visitors and this criminal they were chasing.
Donner took a strange device out of a saddlebag he had beside his chair and set it on the table. Donner then pushed a button and out of the hole on the top came a holographic map of Equestria and surrounding lands. A collective gasp came from the ponies, they didn’t have anything like this aside from the friendship map. Before any questions could be asked though, Donner got to business.
“so, Rudolph himself left Olenia where the border of Equestria, the Chrystal empire and Olenia meet at Ryukyu Pass.” He gestured to the three mountains that made up the pass.
“it is then presumed he went north, bypassing crystal city here and that he is heading north east toward the mountains. If Rudolph reaches those we may lose him forever. Now I sa-“
“wait, what is this Rudolph accused of” Applejack asked.
It was then that all Donner and Blitzen had a flash of anger go across their faces before Donner spoke with gritted teeth. “Rudolph committed regicide” he spat “he murdered King Avalon and his extended family at the Valan Ottaminen, the oathtaking ceremony”
“Umber was there as well, he managed to save the Rouskia and Verenvuototautin families” Blitzen said, “Alas the King, wife, his 5 children were Killed. That does not include the numerous other deaths.”
The Ponies were shocked, murder was something that was a known concept but it was chalked up to insanity to do so, but Regicide was an unheard concept that Ponies couldn’t even dream of.
“Weren’t guards called” Luna asked.
“no, guards were not called, the act was committed in a matter of seconds according to Umber.” Donner replied.
At the confused look of the ponies who knew that Murder of several individuals took longer than a couple seconds, Randolph answered “Rudolph is an itämaan tietäjät, a magi.” Randolph’s hoof moved to the Hologram device and pushed a button. Out of the device came a lifelike figure of a deer. This was a hologram of Rudolph, he was as tall as an Alicorn. His fur was brown with a white underbelly, on top of his head was a large pair of antlers that dwarfed Donner and Blitzen’s antlers. What stuck out most to the ponies was his nose, it was a bright red that seemed to glow. The Hologram was still aside from it rotating. Randolph then pushed a button.
The Hologram stopped pointing when it stood parallel to the ponies and the deer. Randolph spoke shattering the peace in the room “magi are very powerful even compared to the average unicorn as they can use magic to control the elements and even if they are inferior magically their physical power and innate magic resistance makes them a power to behold. If we are to catch Rudolph we will need your help to overpower Rudolph as he is one of the most skilled Magi in centuries. Magi however are unable to use magic if surprised as they have to charge it up and if the orb is hit it temporarly cancels any magic.”
Randolph pushed another button and, then energy orbs formed on the antler segments before gathering at the middle of the antlers, then a series of Icicles were formed, rocked appeared, and Hologram showed the powers of reindeer Magi.
After the breathtaking scene a loud thud came, Luna lay on the ground passed out!!!
