A Dusklit Conflict
Discovery
Previous ChapterTwilight awoke and looked around, but noticed she wasn't in the strange room she was in before. This place seemed like a strange library, almost like the one back home. Though...it felt fake. Like it wasn't real. She wasn't sure why but something felt off about this strange place. She got up and walked around. While it seemed off at the same time..it felt like home.
"Hello? Anyone here?" She called out, to nopony replied. She did it again and again, and finally, she heard a voice spoke. It seemed to speak in a friendly tone, and was coming from all around her.
"Hello Princess. You're probably really confused right about now aren't you?" However, before she even had a change to answer, something appeared in front of her. It was a book, a floating book with a dark cover and an eye in the middle. It was dark blue in color with strips of purple. There was a strap keeping it closed, and it seemed rather dark, an aura coming off it. When it spoke, the words came from the book this time.
"Seems you don't remember little pony. That is fine. Just know what where you stand is cause of me little one." Despite it having no mouth, she could tell the book was smirking at her.
"Who are you! What did you do to me!" Twilight stamps a hoof in a demanding tone as she stares at it.
"Easy Princess. All will be explained in time. And I didn't do anything. This is all your doing." She would hear a soft giggle all around her as the book floats around her.
"For now, I will say this. I will appear with you very soon, and once that happens, all should make sense little princess. But until then my little Twilight, try to survive. This place isn't as nice as the Equestira you know, and I would hate for my little pe..pony to get hurt." It said this in a almost fatherly tone towards her as Twilight just huffs, trying to tackle the book to grab it. This worked as the book got grabbed in her hoofs.
"Answers. Now!" She yelled her horn glowing as she being to ready up a spell to damage the book. It simply chuckled and teleported out of her grasp.
"Fine fine. I suppose I owe you that much. You found me, locked away in an underground cave. You took me to your castle to read me, and found what I contained. You wanted to know more, and that is when you heard me speaking to you. We made a deal you see. You wanted what I held but I couldn't simply give it. As much as I want to not even I could do that. So...a deal was made and here you are. Poofed here by me of course. I think I'll keep the details of the deal contained to myself for now, would ruin all the fun." The book would simply fly up to one of the many books in this fake library. "All will become clear in time little Princess. For now, I would be careful. Oh, and a little tip. Alicorns don't exist in this place so I would be careful with those wings and horn you have there. Don't want these people to know you don't belong." And with that, the scene faded away.
When Twilight awoke this time, she was in the same room she was in last. She sits up and had to think about what happened. Was this book telling the truth. What kind of deal would she have made? What even was this deal? Would she really be running into this book soon? Before she had time to answer any of these however, an armed pony would walk in with her saddlebags and tosses them down, walking out shutting and locking the door behind her. She got up and goes to peek into the bag. The Element of Magic, some quills, a blank book, the strange..book from her dreams. And some other items that she assumed would help her. But..where did this come from. She didn't have this before. Was this the books doing again?
It's words echo in her mind over and over. What was it? Clearly no normal book would talk to her like that. She sighs and put her saddlebags on her to hide her wings as she soon heard another pony walked in. This one was much shorter then most of the guards and appeared to be female. She would have walked over and took a seat somewhere, just looking at Twilight and not saying a word.
"Do you um...want anything...?" Twilight asked nervously as the mare still did not say a words. Soon however, she got and walked over to Twilight, grabbing her saddlebags and throwing them off. She would then grab her wings and open them up, as if studying her. She then did this to her legs and her horn, and almost every other part of her body. She was just about to cast a spell before she felt something click onto her horn, cutting off her magical flow so she wasn't able to. She was about to question it when suddenly, she was stuck in a muzzle as well! What was going on. Now Twilight was really worried as she squirms and tried to buck the mare off of her. She did as she tried to take the things locking her in place in but it didn't work as she got tackled, and a collar was put around her.
"Listen here you freak. No pony has ever had a wings and a horn. So you will either behave and do what we say or things will get VERY ugly. Do I make myself clear." Her voice was stern. Twilight just nodded, knowing there was no point. Her wings were also locked into place as her saddle bags were thrown onto her back.
"Now...come with us." The mare attached a leash to the collar on her neck and drags her out, and Twilight just followed along. What did they want with her? What were they going to do with her? The words of the book ran though her mind: Alicorns never existed here. And she was still one. That wasn't a good sign as she was blindfolded on the way out as well, forced to just use the sounds to follow the mare and what sounded like six armed ponies with them.
