Prologue: Same Shit, Different Day
Cynthia ducked behind cover as the bullets sailed over her head. "You're not getting away with that." She muttered under her breath as she rolled out of cover and fired her Fuel Rod Gun. The rod flew straight into the chest of the offending Spartan. The spartan fell backwards and his body disintegrated. Cynthia wasn't worried about being discharged for friendly fire. This was a simulation match, after all. She ran to the next available piece of cover behind a metal pillar. "You'll have to come out some time, Thia." A Spartan she knew as Tyler, or B-520, yelled from his vantage point on the walkways. Cynthia took her chance and bolted from cover, dive rolling and firing her Sniper Rifle straight into Tyler's head. Cynthia dropped the Sniper in favor of a pistol. Cynthia was always known for her luck. Cynthia charged straight into a group of Spartans who happened to be heading the same direction. Bad call. She pulled out an Energy Sword and bisected the first Spartan before the group could react. They reacted and one of them was knocked back by a punch and had a blade of plasma get plunged into him. He really couldn't feel pain, seeing as this was a simulation. Cynthia pulled out her pistol and fired four rounds into the next one's head. She picked up his assault rifle and emptied its deadly contents into the head of the nearest enemy. The counter showed that there was only one other Spartan in this elimination wager match. She knew him as Alex, or A-821, and he was good at this. Alex jumped from cover and fired two rockets at Cynthia. She managed to dive out of the way and opened fire on him as he reloaded. A Sniper bullet caught his launcher and an Energy Sword was jabbed into his neck. The match was over and the familiar foghorn-like sound emanated from nowhere, signaling the end of the match.
Cynthia walked out of her pod in her signature steel and silver colored armor. "Hey Thia!" Tyler called as he exited his pod. "That was one hell of a match!" Cynthia was used to being praised like this. "Yeah, you missed most of it, cause you were camping with your DMR." Cynthia said the last part with a deadpan tone. "Guess you won the bet, huh?" Tyler said, rubbing his neck. "Yeah I guess I do." Cynthia said in a much more cheerful tone. Cynthia and Tyler bet that whoever could win the next match, would get the losers share of rations for the next week. Cynthia walked up to Alex and gave him a tap on the shoulder to get his attention. "Hey Thia. You were good out there." "Thanks Alex." The intercom sounded above their heads. "Commander Cynthia, please report to the bridge." Cynthia let out a groan and started for the bridge. "Well I gotta go. See you guys in the next match." Cynthia waved a goodbye and continued on her way to the bridge.
She reached the bridge and was greeted by a hologram of a woman. "Hey Thia." The Hologram greeted. "Hi Aria." Cynthia greeted back as she headed for the front of the bridge. "Thank you for responding immediately, Commander." "No problem, Michael." Cynthia said. "I'm sending you on a mission. You're gonna have to pack heavy. This'll be a very long mission." Michael said as he handed her a paper. The paper contained all the information that was needed for this mission. Drop point, Target and Extraction point. "Thanks Michael." "You will also be testing out an experimental set of equipment. It's waiting for you in the armory in the shuttle bay." Michael said. "Alright."
Cynthia said as she started making her way back down to the shuttle bay and was greeted by Tyler and Alex. "Hey Thia. You get the same mission?" Alex asked. "Is it going stealth on a Covenant planet and blowing up a lab that is six kilometers away from the drop point?" "Yup." "Then yes." Cynthia said as she moved to the armory. She picked up her MA5C, M45 and her trusty M6G. There was a small cube on the table to the right and a scientist standing next to it and Cynthia walked up to him. "Commander, Captain Michael has instructed me to tell you about this cube. Apparently, the Elites were kind enough to give us a technology that allowed us to carry their weapons in a near infinite space inside this cube. The only downside is that you can't store things that are bigger than weapons and they have to be of Covenant origin." The scientist said sadly. Cynthia was impressed. all that stuff in a cube. "The captain also told me to show you this." The scientist said as he typed a code on a keypad on the far wall and it opened to reveal a steel and silver suit of armor that was somewhat bulkier but somehow lighter. The visor was a brilliant shade of gold and it looked like the entire suit was customized for her. "If we could mass produce this, this will be the SPARTAN-V." The scientist said.
"This suit seems very close to my liking." "The captain had this made for you because you were the next best thing." The scientist said, obviously hinting to Master Chief. Cynthia put on the armor and instantly felt like she could maul a Brute with her bare hands. She grabbed the cube that was no bigger than a Rubik's cube and typed a code on it's keypad and put in a Type-25, a Type 51 and a Type 33 and the rest of the Covenant weapons she owned (which was all of them). "The suit also has an ammo replication feature for Covenant and Human weapons." Cynthia almost squeed in delight, but she manged to keep it down. The very fact that she could tear through Covenant forces with an unlimited amount of ammo was trying to break her moral code and make her open fire on the nearest alien.
"The suit is basically enhanced from head to toe. The armor and shields are twice as strong now. The strength enhancement is now multiplied by 20, the sight and hearing is much stronger, it features extreme adaptability and a little feature that was added by the Elites. Twin Energy blades on your forearms." Cynthia froze at the statement. I'm gonna have plasma blades on my arms.... If I wasn't a Spartan, I would make love to Michael. Cynthia thought as she fired up the plasma blades. They were the signature blue and white of plasma and it was shaped into the blade of a slightly curved combat knife, only much longer. "There's also another thing." The Scientist said as he brought out a weapon crate that was meant to hold a sniper rifle. "Say hello to the M95 Dragonbreath. The product of the minds of the Elites and the humans." The scientist said as he pulled out a rifle that had the sleek outer design native to the Elites and the rough and tumble design native to the humans. Cynthia was literally on the verge of tears. "It can fire plasma, bullets and a charge of Ignidium. It can also fold into your armor. You just have to give it a mental command." Cynthia mentally told the weapon to recede into her armor and sure enough, it did by coming apart and sinking into the various parts of the armor. "Alright, you're all set." The scientist said as Cynthia walked out with a 'thank you', but not before taking her trusty folding longsword.
"Looking good, Thia!" Tyler said from his point near the shuttle. "They said I was the next best thing!" Cynthia said, barely containing her joy. An airhorn-like sounded in the shuttle bay signaling the Spartans to enter their pods. Cynthia picked up Aria's chip and put it in her helmet and she put her human weapons in every conceivable, yet safe place possible and entered the pod. The alarm blared louder as the pod fired from the side of the ship and into slip-space.
Inside the slip-space tunnel, Cynthia's pod and a pod containing a Warthog was drifting off course and eventually shot out from the side of the tunnel. "This is very fucking bad..." Cynthia was fearing for her life. She could be stranded in space with no way to contact anyone. She looked out the window and saw a planet that closely resembled Earth. Well, at least I can find somewhere to stay here... Cynthia thought as her pod and the Warthog entered the atmosphere of the planet.
In Ponyville, Twilight was gazing at the night sky and saw Cynthia's pod. "A shooting star!" Twilight's expression changed from amazement to horror as the pod came crashing into Ponyville square. She sped out the door and to the homes of her friends and they all went near the object.
Ch.1: I must be losing my mind.
The Mane 6 had ran into town and were shocked at the sight. The fountain had been smashed and a ditch that was nearly five meters long extended from where the fountain used to be. At the other end of the ditch, was a large metal meteorite. "I don't think that's a meteorite..." Twilight said.
Celestia had seen the crash along with her sister and immediately teleported there. The princesses didn't have time to imagine what had happened to the ponies, when they saw the strange metal meteorite and the Mane 6. "Twilight!" Celestia called out from behind the Mane 6. "Princess! This thing just crashed here!" Twilight still had a hint of worry in her voice. "We have to be careful." Celestia said as she scanned the pod for threats. Then one part of the pod, which they assumed was some kind of door, blasted off it's hinge.
"Cynthia! Cynthia, wake up!" Came the voice of Aria. "The hell happened?" Cynthia said, lying on her back and rubbing her head. "We crashed and I'm detecting movement outside. Be ready." Aria said. "Great. I hope they're friendly." Cynthia said as she grabbed her MA5C and pulled down the release lever of the door and it flew outward and she stepped out. She began scanning for threats and immediately found movement to her right. It was coming in fast, but she managed to swat it away. She heard an audible groan and another movement to the left and kicked low. So much for friendly... Cynthia thought as she grabbed what had kicked her by the leg. She was surprised to find a small, orange pony dangling by its leg. "Lemme go!" Screamed the orange pony. What.The.Fuck. Cynthia didn't have time to react as she was pushed backward into a wall by an invisible force. She just got up like it never happened and charged at her attacker.
Twilight looked on in horror as Dash got swatted away like a fly and Applejack was dangling by her leg. Twilight took a good look at the strange creature that held Applejack in it's vice-like grip. It was a bipedal creature that stood even taller than Celestia and had fingers that held Applejack firmly. It seemed to have plate-like armor and black skin. The most terrifying thing about it was it's face. Or what it passed off as a face. It had nothing but a gold eye in it's face. A cyclops? Twilight thought as Celestia immediately seized it in her magic and Applejack scurried to the group. Twilight felt relieved that they got Applejack out of there, but their celebration didn't last long. The creature immediately got up like nothing had happened and charged at the Princess.
Cynthia managed to see a white energy charging in the dust cloud. That can't be good... Cynthia thought as she dodged the beams of energy coming from the dust cloud. She got hit by a beam, but her shields merely shrugged it off and continued her charge and met her attacker with brute force. She pinned the horse-thing to the ground and was about to pull out her energy blade and saw the fear in its eyes and she deduced what the ponies were doing. They were fighting out of fear. She stopped trying to use her energy blade and started pummeling the creature, only to be stopped by a shield. She continued pummeling the shield and could feel it getting weaker with each blow. Eventually it gave and she went in for a punch. But she couldn't do it.
Twilight was shocked and horrified when the Princess was pinned down and the creature began pummeling her and was stopped by a shield. Twilight didn't have time to sigh in relief as the creature broke the shield and threw a punch that was capable of killing the princess right then and there. Twilight looked away, waiting for the terrifying sound of bones cracking, but it never came. Instead, the creature got up and pulled out a canteen of water and made the Princess drink. The Princess pulled away slightly when she finished and the creature walked over to the unconscious Rainbow Dash and put some sort of cream on her right side, where it hit her. The creature then got up and went over to the pod it landed in. Twilight decided to go over and talk to it.
When she had finished tending to the ponies she had hurt, Cynthia headed over to her pod and began removing the weapons inside. She put her MA5C and M45 on her back, while she holstered the Energy sword and M6G at her sides. She then picked up movement from behind her and she put up her hand to stop the ponies. Her motion tracker went silent and she went back to fixing her stuff. 'Aria, what the hell is happening?' Cynthia said to the AI in her head. "I have no idea." Aria said. Cynthia picked up more movement to the left, where she swatted the pony away. "You shouldn't be moving. Let the cream do it's work." Cynthia said, not looking away from her pod. She then heard three words so loud, she had to turn down the speakers in her helmet . "YOU CAN TALK!?" The ponies shouted in unison. "I'm actually surprised that all of you could talk. Although, I can tell that my species is far more advanced than yours." Cynthia said. "Excuse me, Ms. Alien..." Twilight said. "Call me 714." Twilight was perplexed as to why this creature would want to be called a number, but she didn't press the issue and asked another question.
"How do you talk without a mouth?" Cynthia let out a laugh and spoke. "No no, this isn't my face. I'm just talking from underneath a helmet." Cynthia said in a humorous tone. "Why didn't you kill us? The way you were fighting, you could have easily killed us." Celestia asked. "Listen, Not all alien races are murderous monsters. I didn't really have a valid reason to kill any of you and I'm paid to kill threats." "Y-you've killed?" Twilight asked in a shaky voice. "Like I said, I only kill threats and, judging by what you all showed me today, none of you have anything to worry about." Cynthia said as she finished fixing her stuff.
"Well now that you're here, where do you plan on staying?" Twilight asked. "What makes you think I won't leave right now?" "Because your pod looks like it was made to land, not fly. And it's destroyed." "Great observation. As for your question, I guess I could just sleep in the woods or something." Cynthia said as she pointed to the Everfree forest. "No.... You shouldn't, it's really dangerous!" Some of the ponies said.
"You really shouldn't worry about my safety, rather, worry about the safety of whatever lives in there. I could really use the meat anyway, I'm damn hungry." Cynthia said, rubbing her belly. "You're a carnivore." Twilight said as the ponies backed away. "Oh no, I'm an omnivore. I can eat plants. Also, horse meat tastes terrible. I wouldn't want to eat you anyway." Cynthia said. Some of the ponies took offense that they tasted terrible and Twilight spoke up. "We're ponies, not horses." "Eh, same thing. If you don't want me to stay in the forest, where do you want me to stay?" Cynthia asked. "You can stay with me." Twilight offered. "Thanks." Cynthia said as she picked up her pod. The ponies all had their jaws on the floor as Cynthia walked by them, carrying a pod that weighed a half a ton like it was an apple. Cynthia could barely stifle her laugh as she looked back at the ponies with their jaws on the floor. "Hey, don't let the flies in." Cynthia said as she walked ahead of them. "Well? Aren't you coming?" She said with a smile underneath her helmet.
They began their walk back to the library and received the ever so common response of fleeing and jaws on the floor. Cynthia chanced a look into the night sky and found it to be the most majestic sky she had ever seen on a planet. But nothing beat being among the stars. "This is the most beautiful night sky I have ever seen." Cynthia said, not letting her gaze leave the beauty above her head. "Yes, it is beautiful. Although, I don't really have anything to compare it to." Celestia said. "What is it like to be among the stars?" Celestia asked, her sister was also curious as to what it was like to be among her creations. "It's really beautiful. Although, I never really got a chance to just look outside a window and admire the beauty of the stars. I was often too busy trying not to get impaled by spikes flying at 150 miles per hour or getting burned by plasma." "That must be rough." Celestia said. "I can show you if you want." Cynthia said as she stopped walking, put down the pod and removed the cube from it and took out the Type 25 and tossed it to Celestia. Celestia caught it with her magic and stared at it quizzically. "This is a weird looking crossbow." Celestia said. Cynthia was getting a little annoyed and told her to pull the trigger at the back of the Type 25 while pointing it at the floor. Celestia jumped back in surprise and yelped a bit as the weapon fired blue globs of plasma at the ground and left small craters as the plasma evaporated.
"It looks like it shoots blue lava." Twilight said as she looked at the weapon and the crater. "If you want to compare it to that, sure. But that's not what it is at all." Cynthia said. Celestia decided to ask another question. "You said that you were often busy trying not to get impaled by spikes or being burned by plasma, does that mean you're a soldier?" Celestia asked in a sad, yet firm tone. "Yes, but not the regular kind." Cynthia simply said. "What kind of soldier are you?" Twilight asked. "I can't exactly tell you without having to kill you, and you know how that turned out. I'm supersoldier called a Spartan. I am genetically enhanced to be faster, stronger and overall, better than the rest of my kind." Cynthia said with pride. "So, your people messed around with your body to make you better at killing things?" Twilight asked with a look of horror and disgust on her face. "If you put it that way, sure it sounds horrible. But you have no idea why we did it." "What could possibly justify killing innocent aliens for a living!?" Twilight shouted. "First, these aliens are far from innocent. They turned entire planets into glass, for God's sake! Second, I don't do it for money, I do it for my people. You see, the aliens I fight are leading a genocidal campaign that aims to wipe my people from the face of existence." Twilight shrank back as Cynthia seethed with rage. She would not let some alien race who had never experienced a war like hers think that the humans were the bad guys. She personally thought that the war was good for the humans. It taught them to stop their stupid squabbling and focus on the real threat.
"We're sorry for bringing this up. You must understand that war is not something that happens regularly here." Celestia gave her an apologetic look. "It's alright. It should be me apologizing. Killing is killing and I have done more than my fair share." Cynthia said as she picked up the pod again and continued walking towards the tree home and put down the pod with a loud clang. "Thanks for letting me stay here miss...?"
"Twilight."
"Mah name's Applejack."
"Rarity, darling. Pleased to meet you."
"My name is Pinkie Pie! Just call me Pinkie!"
"Rainbow Dash, fastest flier in Equestria!"
"Princess Celestia, co-ruler of Equestria."
"Pleased to meet you all. I just have one more thing to take care of. My vehicle landed in the forest and the process would be much easier if I had a guide." Cynthia said. Celestia stepped forward and spoke. "I'd be happy to guide you through the Everfree, 714."
The two trudged through the forest and eventually, they heard the sounds of something clanging metal and curses that were muffled by the distance and the underbrush. Cynthia cut through the brush with her knife and saw another horse-thing, except it was slightly smaller and it was a midnight blue. "Open already!" The other horse said as it pounded the door of the pod with a rock. "Sister? What are you doing?" Celestia said, her head tilting a bit. "I've been trying all night to get this stupid thing to open! What is that!?" The blue horse shouted as she pointed to Cynthia. "This is 714 and she is a human.""Hi" Cynthia said as she raised her hand. The horse then realized she had a hand and pulled her to the scanner next to the door. The door opened and revealed a Warthog with guns that could change out for another one or just put them at the sides and make room at the back for more troops. "What is this?" The blue horse asked. "It's my baby." Cynthia said as she climbed in the front and started the engines with a mighty roar that caused the princesses to jump. Cynthia laughed as she spoke. "Well? Aren't you getting in?" The princesses complied and climbed in the back. Very bad decision. Cynthia had a grin underneath her helmet as her Warthog lurched forward and jumped off the ramp that was made by the door of the pod and sped through the forest. Cynthia whooped every time they narrowly missed a tree and the sisters screamed in fright. Eventually, they broke the treeline and zoomed past Fluttershy's cottage and into town.
Twilight took a break from talking about Cynthia and took a walk outside. She saw something speeding through Ponyville, and it was heading straight for her! Twilight didn't have time to react as the thing stop mere inches from her face and suddenly, her legs felt like jelly and she collapsed, hyperventilating.
Cynthia had just sped through town in a Warthog and had stopped mere inches from Twilight's face. The princesses left the Warthog with shaky legs, but they managed. "Sorry, Twilight. Didn't see you there." Cynthia said while rubbing her neck. Twilight recovered and spoke. "Y-yeah... what is this?" Twilight asked as she looked over the Warthog. "This, my dear, is a Warthog. It is the main transport for our military." Cynthia said with pride as she patted the dashboard. "Shall we enter?" Cynthia said as she locked the Warthog and entered the library.
They sat on the floor and immediately started asking Cynthia questions. "I was wondering... what kind of magic did you use to just deflect the Princess' attack like that?" Twilight asked. "Magic? That wasn't magic. That was shield technology. Go ahead, do it again." Cynthia said as she pumped out her chest. "If you say so..." Celestia said as she fired a spell at Cynthia, only for it to dissipate. "Impressive." Celestia said. "Technology can do a lot of things." Cynthia said as she activated her active camouflage. "Where did she go?" Applejack asked. "Right here." Cynthia said from behind Twilight while she deactivated her camo. "You can turn invisible!?" Twilight gawked at Cynthia and Cynthia laughed. "And so much more. Technology is so advanced, that we learned to extend our lives. Humans used to live up to 100 years. Now, normal humans live up to 150." Cynthia said with pride. "That's a long time... Wait, you said you're a supersoldier, so how long do you live?" Twilight asked. "Right now, I am 53. Most Spartans live up to 300, but I'm a special case. They wanted a copy of humanity's greatest hero and they made me. I live up to 500." "500!? That's a really long time!" Twilight said. "Who was your greatest hero?" Dash asked. "No one really knew his real name, just like other Spartans. But he was called Master Chief. He defeated the Flood, destroyed some Halo rings. He became an inspiration for all future Spartans. I doubt that I'll ever find a human or Covenant who has never heard of the guy." Cynthia said with dreamy eyes. "You're into this guy?" Dash asked. "He was actually my childhood crush. I eventually gave that up, but the feeling is still there. I feel a certain respect for him now. We're the only two of our kind." Cynthia said as she pumped out her chest.
"About that thing outside... I wanna ride it." Dash said as she pointed at the Warthog outside. "Heh. No way in hell, squirt." Dash immediately had a pout on her face as she heard the nickname she uses on Scootaloo used on her. "Now, any more questions?" Cynthia asked as all the ponies in the room raised their hooves. This is gonna be a loooong night... Cynthia thought.
The questions lasted throughout the night and by the time the questions stopped, it was already 3:00 AM. "You should all go to bed now. Its 3 AM." Cynthia said as she walked over to the corner and sat down. "What about you?" Twilight asked. "Me? I stopped sleeping a long time ago. At least not on an alien planet. Years of war tends to make you paranoid." Cynthia said as she pulled out her M45 and cradled it in her arms as her head slumped back. The other ponies decided to sleep around Cynthia, so when they woke up, they could continue their onslaught of questions.
The next day, at the crack of dawn, Cynthia snapped out of her fully aware sleeping state and walked over to the balcony and saw Celestia on it, her horn glowing as it lowered the moon below the horizon and raised the sun. Judging by the show a few hundred years back, I'm not even gonna try applying the laws of physics here. Its obvious that if it ever was here, its long gone. Cynthia mused as she was noticed by Celestia. "Oh, I didn't realize you were awake." Celestia said as she began walking down the stairs. "You know what? I'm not even going to argue with what you ponies say anymore. Its obvious that if the laws of physics were here, they're long gone by now." Cynthia said as she hung her head in defeat. Celestia chuckled and walked down the stairs to see that the other ponies had awoken and some of them had already been cooking up breakfast.
"714, would you like to join us for breakfast?" Twilight asked as she pulled away from her cooking. "Nah, As it is, I gotta go 'shopping' if I plan on eating like a Spartan." Cynthia said as she headed for the door, only to be stopped by Fluttershy. "No, I won't let you kill any animals." Fluttershy said in a firm voice. Cynthia was getting a little pissed at this small, yellow pony for trying to tell her what she could and couldn't eat. But she had to just suck it up and follow if she wanted to have peace with these ponies. "Fine. I won't kill anything. Just let me go to my pod and get some supplies." Fluttershy leaped for joy as she pulled Cynthia into a hug, but quickly let go when she realized what she just did.
Cynthia came back and was holding some protein bars and a bag of nutrient stims. She sat down at the table and proceeded to open the bag of stims. Dash was curious as to what was in the bag and flew over to see, only to fly under the table at the sight of the large needles. "Um... Ignore what had just happened..." Rainbow said with a nervous chuckle. Everypony laughed a bit and then turned to Cynthia. Cynthia pulled out a syringe that was the size of a dagger by pony standards and had a blue liquid in it. Cynthia unlocked a couple of clamps under the helmet and rolled up the black part of her suit to reveal her slightly white skin. "Um, 714? That needle looks a little too big even for-" Twilight was cut off by Cynthia jamming the syringe into her neck and pushed down the plunger. Rarity and Fluttershy fainted and the rest had their jaws planted firmly on the floor. Cynthia pulled out the syringe, rolled the suit down, locked her armor and replaced the syringe inside the bag. "What?" Cynthia asked as she laid out the protein bars on the table. "Was it necessary to use such a large needle?" Luna asked with a stunned look on her face. "I don't know. But almost all Spartans say that direct application is best, hence the large needle." "How do you plan on eating those?" Twilight asked.
"Simple." Cynthia said as she removed her helmet with a soft yank and revealed her shoulder length tan hair and her hazel eyes. The ponies looked at how many scars Cynthia had and gave her some curious looks. "Like what you see?" Cynthia said as she unwrapped the protein bars and began to eat. "Tastes like cardboard, to be honest. But its just what I need." Cynthia said as she devoured three of the bars. "Where did you get that cool scar?" Dash asked. "You'll have to be a lot more specific. I have an entire collection." Cynthia said with pride. "This one!" Dash said as she pointed at a scar that ran down from the edge of her left brow to the joint of her jaw. "Oh that. I think it would be better to show you. Oh yeah, those with weak stomachs should look away." Fluttershy and Rarity were still unconscious and nopony looked away. "Okay then. Don't say that I didn't warn you." Cynthia said as she pulled out a small cube and tapped on it and entered a code. The cube showed a screen and Cynthia fast forwarded it, to spare the ponies what had happened on that day.
Cynthia leaned out of cover and found that the rest of the marines were dead. "Son of a bitch..." She said as she ran out from cover and engaged the Brute Chieftain in close combat. The Brute swung his Gravity Hammer, but Cynthia anticipated this and disarmed the Brute with a shot to the elbow. The Brute roared and swatted the MA5C from her hands and pulled out her Energy sword. Cynthia swung low with her Energy Sword and cut into the Brute's torso and it roared in pain. Cynthia tried to go in for another hit, but the Brute recovered quickly and caught Cynthia in it's powerful grasp, knocking off her helmet and causing her to wheeze in pain as it's relatively short claws dug into the side of her face. "You die here, human." The Brute taunted. "Heh. Wrong move, asshole." Cynthia wheezed as she dug her sword in the Brute's elbow, removing it and causing it to recoil in pain. Cynthia took her chance and sent the Brute to the ground with a kick to the face. Cynthia picked up it's Gravity Hammer and repeatedly slammed the head of the hammer into the legs and torso of the Brute. The Brute reached up with a pleading hand, only to have it cut off by her sword and she spoke the last words the Brute would ever hear. "Say goodnight, asshole." Cynthia said as she slammed the hammer into the head, making it explode in a shower of brain matter and blood. Cynthia took the Hammer and walked into the next room to meet up with the rest of her squad, but not before spitting on the Brute's mangled and mutilated corpse.
Everypony's jaws hit the floor with a loud thud and Cynthia chuckled. "I told you so." Celestia was stunned by the violent video that she had just seen. Sure, she saw combat before. But what she had just seen in the last 5 minutes had put thousands of years to shame. Twilight was about to lose her breakfast, but she held and scribbled down notes about the entire video. Applejack and Pinkie were just standing there, jaws on the floor. Luna just pushed her food away and scooted away from Cynthia. Only Rainbow Dash had not been affected the same way. "That.Was.AWESOME!!! You gotta teach me how to use that!" Dash said as she grabbed the Energy sword from Cynthia's hip, only for it to stay on her hip. "What the? Why won't it come off?" "Because I haven't disengaged the magnetic locks. It'd take a grizzly bear to pull this off with brute force." Cynthia said as she slapped Dash's hoof away. "I would also appreciate it if you would not touch my incredibly dangerous weapons." Cynthia said with an annoyed huff. Dash understood and sat herself back down. "Does anyone else have any questions about my scars, or was that good enough?" Cynthia got answers that centered around them having a good idea about how each scar was received.
Cynthia left the room, followed by Celestia. The others were still recovering from the gory video they had just seen. Celestia let out an audible sigh and Cynthia picked up on it immediately. "Something on your mind?" Cynthia asked. "It's nothing." Celestia said, eliciting a small chuckle from Cynthia. "Y'know, I can tell when you're lying." Celestia was about to retort when Cynthia spoke again. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Cynthia said as she walked over to the door. Cynthia's heightened senses (and adjustable 150 meter motion tracker) showed that there were entire shitloads of hostiles coming in from the south. "Princess, I think we might have a small problem. There are over 200 hostiles approaching from the south. And fast." Cynthia said as she drew her MA5C and ran out the door and to the south. "714, wait!" "What happened, Princess?" Twilight asked as she walked out of the dining room on wobbly legs. "She said that there were over 200 hostiles coming from the south and ran out the door!" The Princess said as she ran out the door and the other ponies followed suit.
Cynthia had stopped running at the edge of town and saw over 200 armored dogs running towards the town. "Finally, some action!" Cynthia said as she charged at the dogs, grenades primed and threw them. The dogs stopped and ran over to the grenades. Idiots... Cynthia thought as 10 of the dogs exploded in a shower of gore. Cynthia kept charging, this time with her MA5C and unloaded a full mag into the crowd, cutting down 7 of the dogs and the rest charged her. She drew her M45 and fired shell after shell at each approaching dog and returned it to her back when it clicked empty. Then she brought out her true tools of destruction: Her Energy Sword and M6G. She flashed a sickening grin as the blade came to life and the mag was inserted into the pistol. She performed a dance of death as her blade swung in an arc that took out 4 of the dogs and fired 2 bullets that took out 2 dogs. She cut her way out of the crowd for a second to breathe and unloaded her entire mag of explosive bullets into the crowd, killing 20 of them. She holstered her pistol and pulled out two Type 33's, or Needlers, from the cube and fired all the spikes at the approaching dogs. Since they didn't have shields, most of them exploded in a shower of spike shards and blood. The remaining 30 were still stupid enough to keep fighting and continued their charge, only to be cut down in Cynthia's well-rehearsed dance of death. Only one dog remained, and it was crawling away, or at least trying, until Cynthia kicked it onto its back and placed her foot on its stomach. It whimpered as Cynthia pumped her shotgun. "I believe that the sound of racking the pump of a shotgun is universally recognized as "kiss your ass goodbye"." Cynthia said with a devilish smile as she fired the shell into the poor dog's head, destroying it and leaving a puddle of brain matter and blood on the grass.
Celestia and the ponies were horrified at the sight. Cynthia had killed over 200 dogs in less than 10 minutes and had killed the last one in cold blood. Fluttershy and Twilight threw up on the grass, Applejack had looked away, Rarity fainted, the Princesses, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie all had their jaws dig 4 inch holes in the ground with their impact alone. "Hello ponies. I neutralized the threat." Cynthia said with a salute. "THAT WAS AWESOME!!! The way you took out those Diamond Dogs!" Rainbow Dash swooned over Cynthia as she deactivated her blade. "H-how could you do such a thing?" Twilight asked with a shaky voice. "Uh... Normally, I guess? Sorry you all had to see that." Cynthia said as she holstered the sword, leaving the Needlers in her hands. "What're those?" Dash asked, pointing to her Needlers. "Um, well.... They're called Type 33's by the Covenant, but we just call them Needlers." Twilight had pretty much recovered from the scene and asked a question. "How do they work?" Cynthia really didn't know how they worked, nor did anyone. "We don't really know. They fire these blue homing spikes, and when there are enough of them in an unshielded enemy, they supercombine and blow the enemy to bits." Twilight wondered why there were no spikes on the top of the weapon. "What spikes?" She was answered by Cynthia pressing a pair of buttons on the weapons and blue spikes popped out the top of the weapon, causing Twilight to jump back. "These spikes." Cynthia said as she replaced the weapons in the cube. "How do you fit those in that small cube?" Celestia asked. "So are the wonders of technology. I can't tell you. Mainly because you wouldn't understand." Celestia was a little annoyed, but managed to keep it from showing and gave an understanding nod. "Well, maybe we should go over and explain what happened to them." Cynthia said as she pointed her thumb at the approaching crowd of multi-colored ponies.
