Starfleet Magic: Season 1 (Rewrite)

It was mid afternoon and Lightning and friends were at Rarity's boutique where she was getting their measurements to make their dresses and tuxedos. Tonight was the Grand Galloping Gala, a large fancy party held in New Canterlot. Rarity was easily the most excited since she like fancy parties. "Oooh, I'm going to make you all look fabulous." she squealed.

"Rarity, remember, nothing to fancy for me." Applejack reminded.

"Yes, I remember Applejack." Rarity said.

That's when the door opened and Sapphire came in. "Ah Sapphire, darling. Just in time. I need t get your measurements so I can make your dress."

"No thank you, Rarity. I don't need a dress." Sapphire replied.

"Why not darling? You need something to wear to the gala."

"Well then, you're looking at it."

Sapphire was wearing her pink t-shirt and jean jacket along with her jeans and sneakers. Rarity gasped, "You can't possibly be serious Sapphire. You absolutely must wear proper attire."

"No thanks. I'm going just the way I am."

"B-B-But you can't go to a fancy gala just the way you are."

"I go everywhere just the way I am and I'm not changing because of some fancy party."

Lightning and the others were surprised at Sapphire's boldness. "Sapphire, are you sure you don't want a dress for the gala?" Lightning asked.

"I'm sure, Lightning. Besides, I'm just going to be in the library during the gala." Sapphire replied. "So I won't need a dress if I'm not going to show it off."

"Sapphire, please darling. I'm begging you, please wear a dress." Rarity made her puppy-eyes at Sapphire. The friends knew when she made that face, she meant business. Sapphire knew it too and she sighed, 'You're not going to give this up are you?"

"Nope."

"Alright, I'll wear a dress to the Grand Galloping Gala." Rarity squealed in victory. "Perfect, we must start at once. Come along." Rarity lifted Sapphire with her magic and they vanished into her room.

Mykan chuckled, "Well, looks like someone's going to her first party."

Mykan had been to parties too, but he usually wanted them to be over so he could get back to his studies. "Mykan, I want you to watch over Sapphire tonight. This is her first gala after all." Lightning said.

"No problem."

"Finished~." Rarity sang as she stepped out the door and to the side. "Behold the outfit for royalty."

That's when Sapphire stepped out wearing a white dress with three layers on it with pink edges. She wore a hot pink belt around her waist and she wore golden shoes along with pink panty hoes with a bow near the top. She hair had been styled in a bun. She wore a rose on her head and a small golden crown.

All in all she looked like a goddess. "... So do you like it?" she asked nervously. The girls all squealed at her new look. "You look awesome!" Rainbow said.

"You look beautiful." Fluttershy added.

"You'll be the belle of the ball with that dress, sugarcube." Applejack said. The boys agreed, but Mykan was staring at her with wide eyes and an open mouth. He felt his heart racing and his palms got a little sweaty.

"Psst. Mykan." Lightning called, snapping his fingers in front of him, snapping him back to his senses. "Huh? What?"

"You were staring at Sapphire, like.. really staring." Dyno said.

"He's right amigo." Myte added. "Are you alright?"

"Who? Me? Yeah, I'm fine." Mykan replied quickly. Lightning and the twins narrowed their eyes at him. "Oh? Hey, look at the time we better get going." Mykan zipped off to get his tuxedo.

"Falling in love?" The twins said.

"Falling in love." Lightning answered.

"Now boys, don't jump to conclusions so quickly. It could be Mykan just lost his voice when he saw Sapphire in that dress." Applejack said.

In the Fitting Room

Mykan was looking at himself in the mirror. "Why did I suddenly freeze when I saw her. I never did that before."

He shook his head and began to put his tuxedo on. "Maybe it was just a fluke." he said. Mykan finished putting on his suit and exited the fitting room and found the others already dressed for the gala. "So shall we get going?" he asked.

Meanwhile, hiding in the bushes, Flame, Frost and Breaker were secretly watching everything. "So the ponies are going to a little party, huh?" Flame said. "What do you boys say we crash it?"

"I agree." Breaker said. "Especially with this." Breaker showed them a small capsule that held some kind of green stuff inside. The minions laughed. "What are we waiting for boys, let's go crash the party." Flame said.

Then they all teleported away.

Lightning and friends exited the carrige and entered the New Canterlot Ballroom, where the gala was being held. Their majesties were dressed in their fanciest garbs for the gala. Lightning and his friends bowed to their rulers. "Good evening you majesties."

"Good evening to you all as well." Celestia said. Luna and her sister immediately took notice to Sapphire's outfit. "I see you got a gorgeous dress, Lieutenant." Luna said.

Sapphire grinned, "Thank you Princess Luna."

"Let me guess, Rarity forced to you go?" Celestia asked.

"Pleaded and gave me the puppy dog eyes."

"Hey!"

Celestia and Sapphire giggled. "So where are Pyrite and the others?"

"They're in the library." Grand Ruler replied.

"Okay, I'll go see how they're doing. See ya guys later." Sapphire said. She spread her wings (thanks to the two holes in back that Rarity cut out) and gracefully flew to the library. Mykan sighed lovingly, which didn't go unnoticed by Lightning and the twins. "Lover boy~" Lightning sang. Mykan blsuhed a little. "Don't be silly."

"Mykan I know that look. I looked at Starla the same way when I first met her." Lightning replied.

Mykan tired to deny it, but even their majesties could see right through him. Flustered with embarrassment, Mykan decided to go to the library as well.

Library

Pyrite, Pharynx, Crystal, Silver and Pyrax were all laying around the library while the gala was taking place. Pyrite and Crystal were reading while Silver, Pharynx an Pyrax were laying around on their backs. That's when Sapphire entered the room. "Hey guys."

"Hey Sapphire." Crystal greeted. Pyrite and Silver squealed at her dress. "You look gorgeous!" Silver cried.

"You're the belle of the gala!" Pyrite added. Sapphire chuckled, "Alright, alright, calm down you two."

"So what are you doing in the library?" Pharynx asked.

"I just wanted to get away from all the ponies talking all night, kinda boring." Sapphire replied.

"Got'cha."

And that's when Mykan walked into the room. "Oh, hey Mykan, what are you doing here?" Sapphire asked.

"I just wanted to... see what you were doing." Mykan replied.

"I was just going to do some reading with my friends." Sapphire went over to a section on magical spells. "I'll just learn some new spells that may come in handy in the future."

Mykan nodded, "And I could do some more research." He went over to the History section and all the friends started reading in the peaceful library.

Gala Room

Lightning and the others were all hanging out with their majesties in the gala room. Watching as ponies communicating and dancing with each other. "Looks like this night will go off without a hitch." Buddy said hopefully.

"Yeah, unless something horrible happens." Pinkie replied. Suddenly, the windows shattered and glass scattered on the floor. The guests stopped and screamed in terror. "Looks like you were right, Pinkie." Artie said.

Flame, Frost and Breaker appeared. "Looks like we're in time for the party." Breaker said.

"You three!" Lightning snarled.

"Yes, but we're not alone. Flame! Now!" Frost stated. Flame nodded and she took out the capsule. "Smooze, you know what to do." She threw the capsule and it scattered on the ground. A slime creature came out and spread all around the ballroom. When the ponies tried to run away, they found it really sticky preventing them from moving at all. "Let's go guys!" Lightning snapped.

"Right." the others said.

Just as they all were about to transform the slime bashed into them and stuck them against a wall, along with their majesties. Lightning tried to touch his energizer. "I can't reach it!" Their majesties blasted the slime, but it didn't have any affect.

Frost laughed, "Your magic has no effect on Smooze."

The others tried to get free, but it was in vain. "What are we gonna do?" Pinkie said.

Library

Mykan and the others were reading when Pyrite saw something green coming from underneath the doors. "Uh, guys." she called. The others stopped what they were doing and came over to see. "What is that?" Mykan asked.

Pharynx examined the slime and fired a small beam of magic at it. The slime didn't seem affected by it. "Just as I thought magic immune slime."

"Magic Immune Slime?" Sapphire questioned.

"Yes, it makes up a creature called the Smooze, making it immune to magic."

"But how did one get here?" Pyrite asked.

"Sombra." Mykan growled.

They all heard screams in the hallway. "One sec." Sapphire activated her vision and set it to X-Ray vision. She was able to see though the walls and saw the ballroom covered in slime and her friends and guests trapped. "Sombra's minions used the Smooze slime to trap Lightning, the others and the guests."

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Pharynx said.

"Wait Pharynx. We need a plan first. Remember you said that it's immune to magic, so we need another way to beat it." Silver replied.

"But what can we use other than magic?" Pyrite asked.

"I've got this." Sapphire said. She fluttered up to the window and opened it. She let out a roar that sounded like Snowflake's. Soon enough, Snowflake, Flameclaw, Camo and Skystorm came soaring towards the window. "Over here!"

Sapphire fluttered back down to the others and her dragons landed next to them. "Nice." Mykan said.

Suddenly, they all heard another roar.

This time what came through the window was a two-headed dragon. "Woah, a Zippleback!" Sapphire gasped.

The Zippleback is known to grow up to 60 feet long. The Zippleback’s two heads make combustion. One head releases flammable gas while the other head shoots out sparks. Combined, they create fire and explosions as well.

This dragon has two long, serpentine necks with spikes on it. These spikes can 'zip' together, in order to create the illusion of one neck. At the end of the necks, are two short heads.

It has a small horn on its nose, and two thinner horns on top of its head. It has yellow reptile-like eyes. The teeth in their lower jaw seem to be longer then the one's in the upper jaw, sticking out. It also had two tails, which can also 'zip' together. The end of the tail posses a fin-like structure on its tails.

Also having short legs and wings, the Zippleback is a slow walker and flier. While their legs are short, they are also strong with four sharp claws. This Zippleback is a gold with blue spots. "Looks like your dragons made a new friend." Crystal said.

"Yeah." Mykan said.

"Hello? Ponies who need rescuing." Pharynx reminded.

"Oh, right. Grab a dragon and let's move." Sapphire ordered. The others nodded and mounted the dragons. Crystal, Silver and Pyrite mounted Flameclaw. Mykan mounted Camo, Pharynx mounted Snowflake with Sapphire and Pyrax mounted the Zippleback. "Let's roll!" The dragons flew and burst through the door and headed to the ballroom.

Ballroom

Flame, Frost and Breaker loved the sound of ponies screaming in fear. "You won't get away with this!" Pinkie snarled.

"On the contrary. No one's coming to save you. " Frost claimed.

Suddenly...

"Snowflake, Plasma Blast!"

KAPOW! The ballroom door burst open and Sapphire along with her friends flew in. "Surprise, Yeah!" Mykan cried.

"What?!" Breaker said.

"Sapphire, Mykan!" Lightning cried.

"Alright gang, let's end this party!" Sapphire yelled. "Snowflake, Skystorm Fire!" Snowflake and Skystorm unleashed their fire on the Smooze. It screeched in pain and launched some slime at them. "Camo, Plasma Blast!" Mykan called. Camo launched it's fire and destroyed the slime balls.

"Zippleback, blast it!" Pyrax yelled. The Zippleback obeyed and fired on the Smooze making it screech in pain. "Agh, it's causing damage but it's not enough, we need something stronger." Mykan said.

Sapphire suddenly had an idea, but it was risky. "I know what to do. I'll be back." Snowflake flew out the window and into the forest. There she found a large hole in the ground. "I hope he's willing to talk." Sapphire said.

Back at the ballroom, the dragons, Mykan and the changelings were blasting the Smooze with their fire and magic.

"PURE SOUL STRIKE!" Mykan cried. His sword unleashed a beam of pure magic at Smooze, which didn't cause any damge. That's when the Smooze launched more slime balls and struck Mykan and the changelings. The dragons fell to the ground and were trapped. "Oh No!" Lightning cried.

Frost, Flame and Breaker laughed. "Nothing can save you wimps, now." Frost claimed.

"That's what you think!" Everybody turned and saw Sapphire with Snowflake.

"Oh, and what can you do about it?" Flame challenged.

"Oh Screech~" she sang.

"Screech?" Lightning and the team echoed. Immediately, a loud roar was heard and it sounded awfully familar. "That sounds like-" Starla said.

Screech burst through the already broken window, roaring loudly. "THE SCREAMING DEATH!" Lightning cried.

Screech roared loudly. "Sapphire, are you nuts?!" Spike cried. "WHY'd you bring that beast here?!"

"Oh relax, we're cool now." Sapphire replied.

"Oh yeah, prove it!" Rainbow challenged.

"Screech, fire at the slime!" Sapphire ordered. Screech roared and launched it's fireballs at the slime. Smooze roared in pain and shrank down a little, freeing Mykan, the changelings and the dragons. "Alright!" Mykan cheered.

"WHAT?" The minions exclaimed.

"Once more Screech and hit it hard!"

Screech roared and rapidly launched it's fireballs at Smooze, making the slime evaporate and freeing the trapped guests and ponies. "Alright Screech!" Rainbow cried.

Now Smooze was smaller than before. "Now to finish you." Lighting her horn, her Elements of Harmony appeared before her and circled her rapidly. Together they surrounded Sapphire in a large ball of their magic. The six elements stopped and floated in a cirlce with Hope and Sorcery in the middle. Sapphire build up her magic and cried, "HARMONIC BLAST!" All at once the magic rocketed towards Smooze.

KAPOW! What an explosion. A large beam of light with the Elements colors was seen, making the ponies gasped in awe.

When the light fainted, Smooze was captured in a capture sphere, but this one had the Elements colors.

The minions knew they were beaten. "Let's split." Flame said. Her comrades agreed and they teleported away. The ponies cheered and roared with appluasue as Sapphire went over and grabbed Smooze's sphere.

Lightning, his friends, Mykan, the changelings, dragons and their majesties all came to her. "That was incredible!" Pinkie screamed.

"I didn't know you could do that with the Elements." Starla said.

"I found out while I was training with them so time ago." Sapphire said.

"Well it saved the day as well as your friends and Screech." Buddy said. Screech fluttered next to Sapphire.

"How did you befriend him anyway?" Spike asked.

"I just apologized for hurting him earlier." Sapphire replied. "Once I did that, he trusted me."

"Well... just make sure he doesn't set anything on fire." Grand Ruler said.

"He won't. Now can we get back to the gala?" Sapphire asked.

"How, everything's ruined?" a pony asked. The ballroom was a mess with the windows broken, the floor covered in residue slime and the walls have some scorch marks on them.

"I got this." Sapphire lit her horn once again and sent out a shock wave that magically fixed everything damages by the attacks. The ponies were amazed. "You never cease to amaze us Sapphire." Lightning said.

Sapphire smiled and so the Grand Galloping Gala was back on and everyone continued dancing and talking long into the night.
