Starfleet Magic: Season 1 (Rewrite)

On bright and beautiful morning, Sapphire was with Lightning and the gang at New Canterlot Palace to begin her training."Now Sapphire, to get you familiar with your magic, we'll start you off with simple magic. Ready?" Lightning asked.

Sapphire nodded her head and Lightning put three blocks in front of her."We'll start off with some levitation. Now concentrate on the blocks and use your magic to lift them into the air." Lightning instructed. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She concentrated and get horn began to glow light pink as well as the blocks and they were lifted into the air. Sapphire slowly opened her eyes and gasped softly with excitement."Good, now start moving them around." Lightning added.

Sapphire concentrated some more and the blocks moved up, down and side to side. Then, she put the blocks back on the floor and cancelled her magic."Well done. Now for teleportation." Lightning told Sapphire where to teleport to and she easily disappeared and reappeared in the correct spot. "Good, Now I want you to teleport me in front of the Grand Ruler's royal throne." Lightning instructed.

Sapphire's expression changed from calm to nervous. "Teleport you? Isn't that a bit advanced?" She asked.

"Just try. Remember stay calm and concentrate." Lightning reassured.

Sapphire reluctantly nodded and concentrated. Lightning began to glow in her light orange magic arua and Lightning vanished and then reappeared in front of the royal throne. "I-I did it!" Sapphire cried with joy.

"Impressive. Let's try some more." Lightning suggested. Sapphire instantly agreed. So for the next two hours, Lightning showed her various spells and she quickly perfected all of them. Lightning was very impressed; Sapphire used her magic to create powerful shields and barriers as well as create powerful magical arrows that can injure a pony on impact. She also mastered an invisibility spell, making her vanish from sight.

Next, they did sparring practice in the palace dojo. "Next part is combat training Sapphire. This way you'll be able to defend yourself if need be. Now Jewel, see if you can pin me to the ground." Lightning stated.

"O-Okay Lightning." Sapphire replied nervously.

Lightning charged Sapphire and she dodged then tried to tackle Lightning, however Lightning swiftly moved out of the way and she fell to the ground. Within seconds Lightning was on top of her.

"Wanna quit?" Lightning taunted.

"Not yet." Sapphire suddenly rolled over and pinned Lightning to the ground.

"Nice move." Lightning panted, "Ready to go again?"

"Yep."

Lightning and Sapphire continued their sparring; Lightning's punches and kicks were skillfully blocked by her an she mananged to pin Lightning five times! When it became noon, Sapphire was tired from sparring session.

"Well look at you." A voice called out. Sapphire and Lightning turned and saw Snowflake, Skystorm, Lightning's friends and their majesties stand in the doorway. Sapphire immediately felt shy. "H-How long have you all been standing there?"

"Long enough to see you catch on quickly. We are all very impressed with your abilities." Celestia replied.

"Hehehe, thank your majesty." Sapphire said with a blush.

"Now onto the next training phase." Grand Ruler added. Sapphire found herself in the New Canterlot Royal Garden in some heavy clothing and in front of a huge sleigh with heavy boulders in it. She also had large weight balls on her arms, legs and back. Incredibly, she was still able to stand... sort of.

"Now Sapphire, you will need to build up your strength, speed, dexterity and etc. First, we will work on your strength. I want you to pull this sleigh to the other side of the garden." Grand Ruler stated.

Sapphire stared at the large rocks on the sleigh and gulped nervously. "You can do it!" Dyno encouraged.

"Si chica." Myte added. She took a deep breath and struggled to the sleigh worth the weights. She soon reached it and grabbed the rope. She grunted as she pulled with all her strength. Even with the weights on her she managed to pull the sleigh to the other side, surprising the ponies and their majesties. After that, Sapphire was tasked with keeping up with their majesties in an obstacle course. She kept up with them with her long, perfect stride. Next, she had to try and take a flag from Grand Ruler and stay in the fight for 20 minutes. She succeed and stayed in for 25 minutes!

After the training was completely, She was taking a break with her friends. Her mane was a little tangled and she was sweating a lot. Lightning gave her some water and Starla gave her a towel to wipe away the sweat.

"You're did great, Sapphire!" Buddy praised.

"Excellente chica" Dyno said.

"You were amazing." Myte added.

She smilied at her friends, "Thanks guys."

Their majesties walked up to Sapphire with proud smiles on their faces."Very good, Sapphire. Looks like your a fast learner." Grand Ruler said.

"Thank your majesty."

"Now how about we have some breakfast." Celestia suggested. Everybody humbly agreed. They went into the dining room and the servants brought food for everybody. Sapphire had about twenty courses; all that training made her really hungry.

Soon, three weeks passed and Sapphire's strength, speed, magical abilities had increased drastically; now she could teleport over long distances, create powerful barriers, and her body became more muscular, enabling her to run faster than a projectile and break boulders with her fists, feet and even her tail. The ponies were all very proud of her. Now, everybody was enjoying lunch in the dining area."Sapphire, you've shown great improvement over a short period of time. We are all very proud of you" Celestia commented. Sapphire blushed."Yeah, sugarcube, you got this down faster than us when we were training." Applejack commented.

"Indeedy." Pinkie Pie added.

"Hehehe. Thanks you guys." Sapphire said.

Suddenly, the alarms sounded and Goldwin, a magic statue brought to life by a magic mask, burst into the room.

"Guys, it's horrible, you better come quick." he cried.

"Slow down Goldwin-- what's wrong?" Celstia asked.

"I was staring at the clouds out the window when I saw down below in the village... King Sombra." Everybody gasped in horror! "impossible! We destroyed him!" Starla cried. "Whose King Sombra?" Sapphire asked, having never heard of him before.

"He's an evil unicorn with a heart as black as knight." Lightning replied. "We destroyed him months ago, but he seems to have returned."

"Let's not dwell on that now." Grand Ruler said.

"Let's go you, guys." Artie asked.

"We're coming to." Celestia called.

"What about me?" Sapphire asked.

"You will stay here, Sapphire." Grand Ruler replied, “it's still too dangerous for you to enter battles yet."

"Okay." Sapphire replied. She watched as her friends ran out of the dining room and into the village, while Goldwin her stayed and they both looked out the window. Sombra was strolling down the village streets, while the villagers ran away in fear and utter panic. Alongside him were his three minions. They were all demoncorns.

Breaker: A brown burly-looking unicorn stallion with a black mane and tail who wore and black cloak. He was stronger than his two comrades. His magic specialty was ground and earth.

Flame: A red unicorn mare with a orange mane and tail. Her magic specialty was strictly fire and heat.

And Frost: A light blue unicorn stallion with a dark blue mane and tail. His magic specialty was water and ice.

"Looks like they haven't put out the welcome mat for us." Sombra said.

"Think again!" A voice shouted from behind. Sombra and his minions turned and saw Lighting, his friends, the mane 5, Spike, their majesties and Princess Luna, Cadence and Shining Armor. "Well, well, well look whose here." Frost added.

"What do you want this time Sombra?" Starla snarled.

"That's none of your business! Now, let's get started so we can destroy you." Flame taunted.

"Let's go guys!" Lightning said.

"STARFLEET MAGIC"

Buddy: Power of Flora

Artie: Power of Art

Rhymey: Let us begin...Power of the wind

Dyno and Myte: Power of Fire

Then the girls transformed...

"HARMONY HOUR, FRIENDSHIP POWER!"

And finally little Spike....

"DRAGON POWER!"

"Warrior-mode, go!" Celestia and Luna transformed into their warrior garments. Cadence changed into the Silent-Ninja and Shining Armor turned into Saber. The two sides glared fiercely at each other, until Sombra and Grand Ruler shouted, "ATTACK...!"The two sides charged each other, yelling like true warriors. Lightning and friends dealt with the minions while the royal ones dealt with Sombra.

Shining Armor, Luna, Cadence, Celestia and Grand Ruler kicked, punched and blasted Sombra with their magic, but Sombra took their attacks like they were nothing. Same thing with the minions. Lightning's friends threw their attacks at her.

“STAR SHOWER”

“LEAF SWARM”

“PAINT BOMB”

“DRILL QUILL”

"BOOM-BOOM ROCKETS"

However, it was like throwing a small pebble in front of a moving train. The friendship ponies all kicked and punched her but she didn't even flinch. Applejack tried to lasso her, but the minions simply dashed out of the way. "Too easy." Sombra thought. They both blasted the ponies with shockwaves, sending them flying. Goldwin and Jewel were horrified. The ponies struggled to stand up again, "They are way stronger than before. How can that be?" Grand Ruler asked.

The ponies got up and charged the duo again, but Sombra and the minions dashed towards them and began punching and kicking them all ruthlessly, really hurting them. Sombra and the minions blasted them back hard. Lightning and all his friends as well as Cadence, Luna and Celestia de-energized from weakness. Shining Armor’s mask fell off from the explosion, turning him back into his unicorn self.

"Esto es terrible What are we gonna do?" Dyno cried.

"They're just.... too strong... for us" Myte added.

Sombra and his minions laughed maliciously and combined their magic, trapping the ponies in a cage with special bars that wouldn't allow them to use any form of magic."Hey! Let us go this instant!" growled Grand Ruler.

"Not a chance!" Breaker replied, angrily.

"Hahahaha! After all these years of suffering, we will finally have our revenge on Starfleet." Sombra snarled. With that, Sombra and the minions teleported away, along with the captured ponies. Up in the palace, Sapphire, Snowflake, Skystorm and Goldwin saw the whole battle and were extremely worried. "No, no, no, this is really bad! What do we do?" Goldwin said in near panic. Jewel was stunned and horrified by what she just saw.

Everybody in New Canterlot felt the same. Sapphire and Goldwin were immediately called to the throne room. They saw the captain of the royal guard, Captain Shaina. She heard what happened and was desperately worried. "We'll have to plan a rescue mission." She said.

"But, how? We saw how strong they are now! They creamed Lightning and the others. There's nobody left that can defeat them." Goldwin protested.

"But, there's one human they haven't faced." Shaina said, slyly, while turning to Sapphire. She saw everybody looking at her with hope in their eyes and caught on. "M-Me! Bu-but I've never been in a battle before." Sapphire said.

"Yes, however, you’ve trained with Lightning, learning new spells and attacks. Riiiiight?" Shaina asked. Sapphire nodded.

"Then you'll have a chance. Also, Sombra and the minions don't know anything about you, so they don't know your attacks or what you are capable of." Shania added.

Sapphire thought for a moment. Her friends were in serious trouble. The fate of United Equestria was at stake! If she doesn't do anything, who knows what Sombra and the minions will do to them and the planet.

"Okay. I'll do, but do you really think I can do it..... by myself?" She asked.

Goldwin, Shaina looked at each other and nodded. Shaina began to sing:

"You're right! I can do this. Only one problem.. Where did Sombra take them?" Sapphire asked. Skystorm sniffed the ground, picked up their scent. She roared softly at Sapphire, "You have their scent, girl?" Sapphire asked.

Skystorm nodded. "Alright then, let's go girls." She mounted Snowflake and they all flew off towards Fire Mountain.

Sombra and his minions had brought the captured gang into their chamber lair. Sombra levitated the cage up and over a large pool of lava and tied a strong chain to it. His minions were watching the surrounding areas on the monitors.

"You won't get away with this Sombra." Celestia growled. Sombra chuckled, "Oh on the contrary, Celestia. No one would be foolish enough to challenge me with my evolved dark magic and my powerful demoncorn minions at my side." Sombra and the minions laughed and as much as the team wanted not to believe, he was right. If they couldn't take down Sombra, what chances were that anybody else could?

"Master, there's something coming this way." Frost called.

"What?" Sombra snarled. "Who?"

Frost showed the images on the monitor, shocking the team. "It's Sapphire and her dragons!" Pinkie cried.

"Ahh, so the little human thinks she can come in and be the hero, huh?" Sombra hissed.

"If you lay a hand on her, I'll destroy you!" Grand Ruler exclaimed.

Sombra let out a hearty laugh, "Oh Pu-lease, three horn, I have something special planned for that girl. Frost, Flame, you know what to do."

Frost and Flame nodded and raced out of the lair. The team and Mykan were now very worried for Sapphire.

The trio were a few miles away but they all could see Fire Mountain from there. "There it is... Fire Mountain." Sapphire said. "Hopefully getting there won't be any trouble." Unfortunately, she was proven wrong when a stream of ice came and almost hit Snowflake if she hadn't few up and avoided it. "Woah! What was that?"

Sapphire got her answer when Flame and Frost appeared. "So you came to rescue your friends, huh?" Frost hissed. "Well, your not gonna live to rescue them."

Frost fired a stream of ice at Snowflake but Skystorm fired his magnesium blast, pushing the ice back and striking Frost, hard. "Ugh!" Flame blasted a stream of fire from her mouth, but Snowflake flew up and dove towards him and blinding speeds. Flame redirected her fire to hit the Light Fury, but Snowflake dodged every attempt. At the last second, Snowflake blasted her at close range with her plasma blast, knocking her out of the sky. "Well.. that was surprisingly easy." she commented.

Frost and Flame burst from the ground, looking furious now. "Alright, now you're dead!" Frost cried. She and Flame combined their magic and fired a large stream of magic at Sapphire and the dragons. Sapphire gasped and took out her shield. "Skystorm, get behind us!" she cried. The Deadly Nadder obeyed and hovered behind Snowflake.

The blast hit the shield and pushed them all back a little but, Sapphire used her own magic to enchant her shield. The now enchanted shield, deflected the beam of magic back at the two demoncorns. "... Uh-Oh."

KAPOW! What an explosion, the two demoncorns crashed to the ground once again. "Quick, into the volcano!" Sapphire cried. Snowflake and Skystorm swiftly flew to Fire Mountain.

Sombra and Breaker, meanwhile, saw everything on the monitors and were not happy. "So that girl thinks she can win so easily? Well, I have another trick up my sleeve." Lightning and the other didn't like the sound of that. Sombra turned to them.

"In the meantime, I'll just destroy you all right here." Sombra pulled a lever on the monitor controls and the cage started to be lowered towards the pool of lava. "Galloping Galaxies!" Buddy cried.

"That little human will never get here in time to save you." Breaker said with glee. The Space Ponies tried to break the cage, but their super strengths didn't make so much as a dent in the bars. Their only hope now was Sapphire and her dragons.

Shadowbolt guards were walking through the tunnels. Sapphire and her dragons sneaked past them when they were going down another tunnel. Sapphire's heart was slightly racing and she was sweating nervously. "Man, this isn't anything like the training Lightning put me through. How I gonna defeat Sombra and rescue my friends all by myself?" she questioned.

Snowflake and Skystorm rubbed against their rider. "I have been training, but I don't know if it'll be enough."

In a bright ball of light, Twilight showed up once again. "You can do it, Sapphire."

"Twilight?"

"You may think you are alone, but you're not." Twilight said. "You have your dragon friends with you."

"Yes, but Sombra has powerful dark magic. How can I counter that?"

"By using the magic that defeated him before; The Magic of Friendship."

"The Magic of Friendship?" Twilight nodded. "It is what we used to defeat Sombra before. Now it's your turn to use it."

"How do I use it?"

Twilight smiled, "That is something you have figure out on your own." Sapphire sighed, "I was afraid you'd say that."

Twilight gave her a confident smile, "I have every confident you will succeed with you mission. You just have to believe in yourself. I must go now, Sapphire. Remember what I said."

With that Twilight disappeared in a flash of light. "Believe in myself.... I think I can do that." she gulped nervously and took a deep breath. "I can do this!"

The dragons smiled at the rider's newfound confidence. "Come on girl, we've got some friends to save!"

The cage was now halfway to the pool of lava. "Ooooh, what do we do?" Fluttershy cried.

"There's nothing we can do. Our powers are useless." Lightning replied.

"Correct." Sombra said. "Finally, I'll get rid of you pesky ponies forever. HAHAHA!"

Suddenly....

"Not while I'm around!"

Everybody looked and saw Sapphire, Snowflake and Skystorm. The dragons were growling angrily at Sombra. "Sapphire, get out of here. He's too powerful!" Lightning pleaded.

"He's right chica." Dyno said.

"Run away." Myte added.

"No! I'm not leaving until you all are safe." she objected. Lightning and his friends were very concerned. Their majesties were also concerned, but at the same time impressed by Sapphire's bravery.

"You made a big mistake coming here, human. And now your going to face the consequences." Sombra threatened. He lunged at Sapphire. Sapphire leaped over him and tackled him to the ground. "Let my friends go!" she grunted. Sombra flipped Sapphire over and was now ontop. "Never!"

Sapphire kicked Sombra off and charged him once again. Snowflake and Skystorm flew up to the cage. "Snowflake, Skystorm, get us out of here!" Rarity cried.

"Yeah, before we're cooked." Pinkie added.

Before the dragons could blast the cage open, Breaker flew in and launched a large rock and the duo, forcing them away from the cage. "You'll have to get past me, if you want them." he challenged. That's when Frost and Flame showed up. They were a little battered but nowhere near beaten. "And us." Frost said. The two dragons growled and flew straight at them.

Sapphire and Sombra were still brawling and seemed to be evenly match somehow. Sapphire matched Sombra's punches, kicks and blocks perfectly. She blasted Sombra with her magic, sending him skidding back. "Grrr.... alright, no more playing around." Sombra growled.

Sombra roared and flared up with his dark magic, catching the attention of everyone.

Sombra suddenly dashed up to Sapphire started bombarding her with punches.She used her shield spell to defend herself and spread out the shield, sending Sombra into the wall. Sombra was now furious. Sombra fired a shockwave at Sapphire, stunning her and He blasted her hard with his dark magic. The gang watched in horror as Sapphire fell to the ground.

"SAPPHIRE!" the ponies cried.

Sombra floated down to the small crater and stared down at Sapphire. She had a black eye, bruises everywhere and mane was matted and tangled. "Looks like this is your final curtain. Too bad you couldn't save them. You were just too pathetic to do it. Now say goodbye!" Sombra said.

He powered up his magic and fired the finished blow.

"NOOOOOOOO!!!" The gang cried.

Just as the beam was about to hit. Sapphire felt the a spark of magical energy run through her. She leaped out of the crater and punched the beam, canceling it.

"What?!" Sombra cried.

The gang, minions and dragons were shocked. Sapphire's whole body glowed brighter than ever.

"STARFLEET MAGIC... POWER OF ANIMALS!"

She transformed into her battle suit and lunged at Sombra. In mid charge, Sapphire changed in front of everybody. Her wings grew large and her body became sleek and white. She grew tail fins and her arms and legs turned into shorter with claws on the end. She rammed Sombra, sending him flying. It was reveled that Sapphire had changed into a Light Fury dragon. "Incredible!" cried Grand Ruler.

"Awesome!" Rainbow dash added.

"Cool!" agreed Lightning.

Sombra recovered and growled at Sapphire "I will not... GIVE UP! PLASMA BLAST!"

She fired a large plasma blast, three times the size of Snowflake's, at Sombra who were consumed by the blast. "Master!" the minions cried as they rushed to his side. Sapphire went to the control panel and pushed the lever up, causing the cage to stop mere inches from the lava. The ponies, Mykan and Spike sighed in relief. Snowflake and Skystrom blasted the cage opened and they all flew out.

Sapphire landed on the ground, just as the minions helped their injured master to his feet. "This isn't over, Sapphire. I will be back!" Sombra declared. His minions teleported away with their master. Sapphire glowed again and changed back into her human self. Her injuries were healed again, but she was extremely exhausted. Her friends rushing towards her was the last thing she saw before she passed out.

Beep... Beep... Beep

When she woke up, Sapphire saw all of her friends by her bedside. "Hey there, sleepy head. How are you feeling?" Starla cooed.

"A little tired, but alright." Sapphire replied in a woozy voice. Artie poured her a cup of water and handed it to her. "Thanks." Sapphire gulped down the liquid until it was all gone. "We're so glad you're alright, we were really worried. Especially Lightning." Buddy added.

Sapphire looked around and saw that she was in a hospital bed. "What happened?" Jewel asked. "After you passed out, we brought you here to the royal sickbay." Starla explained.

"What about Snowflake and Skystorm?"

"They are fine. They're outside the room. They seem a little worried." Buddy explained. "Dr. Penny says you'll make a full recovery."

"Good, I wanna see Lightning." Right after she said that, Lightning popped into the room with the four royal alicorns and Shining Armor.

"Did someone call for me." Lightning joked.

"Lightning!" Sapphire cried, happily.

Lightning came to her bedside and they both hugged. "It's good to see you awake, Sapphire."

"It's good that you all are safe." she replied.

"I'm very proud of you, Sapphire. Using what you've learned to save us. You've impressed me, my brave pony." Lightning praised.

"Indeed, you were very brave, Sapphire. I don't think any other creature would have done what you did." Celesto added.

Everybody nodded in agreement. "Now, it's time to celebrate! Yeah!" Pinkie suddenly screamed. Sapphire groaned and held her head at Pinkie's screaming. "Pinkie!" Starla hissed.

"Oh, sorry." PInkie apologized.

Sapphire gave her a tired smile. "It's alright, Pinkie." That's when Dr. Penny came into the room. "Alright everyone, Sapphire needs her rest. You all can come back tomorrow." Snowflake and Skystorm roared softly. "Including you two. Don't worry, she'll be well cared for."

One-by-one, the ponies, Mykan and Spike left the room and exited the sickbay along with Snowflake and Skystorm. "That Sapphire sure is something." Pinkie said.

"Yeah, turning into Snowflake like that, I didn't even know she could do that." Spike added.

"Me either. Looks like there's more to Sapphire than meets the eye." Lightning stated.

"Indeed. We will have to keep an eye on Sapphire, but for now we must focus on Sombra. With his return, who knows what scheme he's planning." Grand Ruler said.

The team nodded, knowing that had a long battle ahead of them. United Equestria was at war with an old enemy.
