Chapter 2: New Friends

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After a nutritious meal, the pink hippogriff went to the closed balcony, and opened it.

Her beak widened in astonishment, as she came out on it slowly.

Although Silverstream visited The Crystal Empire many times on the vacation with her friends, she never saw this place so extensive.

Where once stood the streets, at that moment stood giant skyscrapers, Instead of only ponies themselves, changelings, yaks and griffons were also walking on the streets, while dragon children and pegasi were playing with each other flying on the sky.

"Whoa… This place looks better than I remember" she said not hiding her admiration.

While the pink hipogriff watched how this place looked more alive, King Sombra quietly entered the room.

He cannot hide smile on his face, when he saw his feathered friend walking normally on her paws,

"Beautiful view isn't it?" King Sombra raised his eyebrow, with satisfaction, seeing how she quickly turned back, with a nervous look on her eyes. "I have worked on these projects for a long time"
"Y-your h-highness... I... can explain" the pink hippogriff stuttered.
"You don't need to explain anything, my lovely hippogriff" the grey pony smiled to her. "This balcony was specially designed for your standards"

King Sombra nodded with a smile on his muzzle.

"Y-you d-did n-not h-have to" Silverstream tried to change his mind. "I could look through the normal window"

The grey pony came closer, and sniffled her forehead.

"Trust me. Even you deserve luxuries"
"What are you talking about, my king?" Silverstream felt disturbed. "I did not do anything great for Equestria"

King Sombra looked into the pink hippogriff's eyes, and caressed her chin.

"Of course you did something to help, my lovely hippogriff" he chuckled.
"What?" she raised her eyebrow "I do not remember anything"

The grey pony giggled again.

"I heard from your headmare, that you always motivated your friends to never give up"

Silverstream uncontrolably blushed.

"These are just small things"
"You're wrong, my dear" Sombra's expression changed to serious. "Every word you brought with you, really helped your friends"

Silverstream just listened.

"Even the little things you've done in your whole life could change your friends' attitude to overcome their fears, be strong, and maybe even change their personalities"
"But..."
"No buts" the grey pony said firmly.

The pink hippogriff was speechless.

She never heard such a beautiful speech in her life.

"But anyway… There is a small group of some races, that wants to see you"

The pink hippogriff's eyes widened.

"They are here?" she thought to herself. "They had to find out where I was from Headmare Twilight

Seeing Silverstream in her thoughts Sombra with a questioning facial expression waved his hoof

"Hello! Earth to Silverstream!"

The pink hippogriff looked back at the king.

"I'm sorry" she giggled nervously. "I'm think too much sometimes"
"I advise you to prepare before meeting them" he said, leaving the room.

Silverstream had enough time to take something with her.

Slowly, she went to the mirror.

Despite her constant bed rest, the hippogriff's mane was still elegantly arranged, as her feathers did not fall out. The only problem was the wings, which instead of flying, gave her pain.

Something was wrong.

On her throat where the necklace should be, was just a bare neck.

The pink hippogriff quickly caught her neck, and looked on the floor.

"Where is it? Where is it?"

She looked under her pillow.

Nothing.

She looked under quilt.

Still nothing.

She looked under the bed.

Still still nothing.

...and she looked on bunch of fashion clothes…

...Nothing…

The pink hippogriff caught her head in desperation.

"My parents are gonna kill me, If they will find out my seapony amulet is gone!"

A well known grey pony, stuck his head out the door.

"Are you ready to meet them?" he asked.

He saw a creature who was nervously looking for something.

Silverstream did not notice him. She was too busy searching.

"Pardon?" King Sombra coughed a couple of times.

Silverstream looked at him.

"I'm sorry... I did not mean to make a mess" she scratched her head, blushing.
"It's ok... This is your room, so it's not a problem to have a mess"

Silverstream chuckled.

"And so what you were looking for?" he made a confused look.
"Umm…" she groaned tapping her chin.
"I mean, what were you looking for, before I showed up?" he raised his eyebrow.
"NOTHING!" she said to change the subject. "I think I should go meet them now"

King Sombra sighed.

"Alright… Come with me..."

"Wait. Those are not my friends" the pink hippogriff raised her eyebrow.

Instead of seeing her old friends under Sombra's castle, there was a similar one in their place, but on the other hoof, it was a completely different group.

The pink hippogriff was this time, really confused.

"Yaro and his friends, are now your friends" the male yak jumped happily.

The female yellow griffon nodded, and came closer to Silverstream.

She put out her claw.

"My name is Grizelda… Nice to meet you" her tone was bored.
"Nice to meet you too… Grizelda?" she squeezed her claw.

Grizelda stood in a row of friends.

A cyan pony came up next.

It was a mare.

"My name is Red Frame" she giggled. "I like making photographies"

Silverstream chuckled.

"Nice to meet you Red Frame… You should like your work"
"Thank you" cyan mare smiled, before coming back to the row.

The black changeling came up next.

Despite his appearance, he was reformed, and had fangs in his muzzle

"My name is Charus" he hissed, while saying his name. "I never knew that the only hippogriff is living here"
"Only?" Silverstream asked. "What do you mean by saying "only"?"

Charus' eyes widened.

"I mean… um... The only hippogriff living in The Crystal Empire"

Silverstream groaned, understanding what he meant.

"Aww… I get it now" she looked back on King Sombra's castle. "It's easy to get lost in this castle"

Charus came back to the row.

The changeling facepalmed.

The blue male dragon came up next.

He just looked at hippogriff without saying anything.

"This is Speaker, he is mute" Grizelda spoke. "He is doesn't like speaking that much"

The blue dragon waved to Silverstream, and came back to row.

The brown yak, tried to get closer to Silverstream, but she put her claw out.

"I already met you Yaro" she said.

Yaro returned to the row with his head down.

"So it's a Young Six?" the pink hippogriff asked.
"Actually, those are just Twilight's students, but..." the grey pony answered.

The group of friends stepped back.

"They are a considered a Young Six's descendants"
