//-------------------------------------------------------// Sitting Outside -by Evictus- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Seeing Two Friends //-------------------------------------------------------// Seeing Two Friends One day, Rainbow Dash was jogging along the road for exercise in Ponyville. She hadn't had the opportunity to exercise in a while, and had grabbed the opportunity with both hands. As she jogged into Ponyville she was greeted by many of the townsfolk that lived their, she always made sure to greet them as well and eventually came across Twilight reading a book, as was her custom. Rainbow Dash chuckled, she wished that Twilight would be more noticable of the beautiful scenery in the sky or the trees but she knew that wouldnt happen. "Hey egghead, reading a book like usual?" Rainbow Dash asked somewhat rhetorically. "It's a fascinating book on the constellations of the Night Sky. I take it you were jogging?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, I ache a bit" Rainbow Dash replied. "Why am i not suprised?" Twilight said with a knowing grin as Rainbow Dash always jogged everyday wanting to exercise constantly, Rainbow Dash smiled back "Sorry but I like to exercise; I guess I got a bit carried away." Rainbow Dash remarked. "Everbody does that; I once settled down to read for an hour and before I knew what had happened, it was the next day!" Twilight laughed at the memory. "Surely there's a way around that," Rainbow Dash suggested to her friend, Twilight thought for a bit and responded. "I could fix that by going to more meetings as princess or see my friends." Twilight responded. "Yeah; I guess you can do that." Rainbow Dash said as she thought about Twilight's response. They both sat there in silence as they enjoyed each others company. As they sat there Fluttershy approached them and giggled at them suprised to see they were outside that day. It was a pleasent suprise and it made her happy. "Mind if I join you? Um...if you dont want me to I wont..." Fluttershy was suddenly hesitant, but Twilight raised an eyebrow. "Why are you barefoot?" Twilight asked, looking somewhat perplexed as she stared at Fluttershy's feet. "Because I feel free that way plus its healthy to. Besides who needs shoes? I haven't worn shoes in years while outside; how can you not have noticed?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight was lost for words as she had no idea why she hadnt noticed Fluttershy walked around outside like that, the thought that she might have never looked at Fluttershy's feet before which is a plausable explnation for why she hadnt noticed. Twilight shrugged and dropped the subject as it wasnt important. "Um...if you girls dont mind...may I sit with you?" Fluttershy asked. "Of coarse you can Fluttershy." Twilight laughed. "I'll give ya some alone time." Rainbow Dash said with a smile as she stood up to walk back home. "Bye Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. As she did this, Fluttershy sat down by Twilight. "So, what were you girls talking about? You...don't have to tell me if you dont want to." Fluttershy said. Twilight glanced at the direction Rainbow Dash walked, and looked back at Fluttershy. "Rainbow got a new exercise routine and I got carried away with reading." Twilight said. "Yeah...that...sounds like... you." Fluttershy said shyly with a grin. Twilight groaned causing Fluttershy to giggle. "Don't remind me. So...how are you doing?" Twilight asked as she was curious as to how her friend's day went. "Great! I helped plan Celestia's birthday, you're invited to come if you want to go." Fluttershy said, Twilight was happy to hear this. "Fluttershy, that sounds great! But something baffles me. Why isn't Pinkie planning this party? She's the expert on those sorts of things!" Twilight suddenly saw Fluttershy cringe. "Eh, no offence." "She didn't want Pinkie Pie to plan it...you know how excitable she can be! She's gonna have a small party with you and her sister." "Great! I can't wait." Twilight said. Fluttershy took the opportunity to raise an unusual point. "Twilight...you should let your feet breath... its eighty degrees out here." Fluttershy said hesitantly; Twilight smiled sheepishly as Fluttershy had a point. "I know, but I was in a hurry today and didnt bother to put my sandals on." Twilight said. Fluttershy put Twilights feet on her lap and untied Twilight's shoes and removed them. Twilight waited for her friend to finish before responding. "Sometimes I'm absent minded. Do you have any suggestions for that?" Twilight asked as her friend removed her socks. "Hey, we all have our own unique problems...if you have a notepad you could write reminders on those or you could have a watch alert...is that better?" Fluttershy asked as Twilight wiggled her freed toes and agreed. "Ah, yes it is. Thank you Fluttershy." Twilight sighed happily. "You're welcome Twilight, I...uh...like helping my friends." Fluttershy said. After an hour's snuggling, Twilight had her shoes and socks plonked in Fluttershy's bag. "I'd recommend walking home barefoot like how i always do as it will be healthier for your feet like how it is for mine." Fluttershy said, Fluttershy stood up and began to walk home "Thats fine, I'll do that, I'll see you later!" Twilight said with a smile. Fluttershy waved goodbye and left whilst Twilight picked up her book and read for a bit more, sighing with happiness as the gentle wind rushed against her feet. She could see why Fluttershy liked it. She was so glad that she had been able to see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy that day. Soon she finished reading and walked back to her castle barefoot. She had no idea the sensation of walking on paving stones could feel so good. "I've been missing out on this havent I?" Twilight asked herself as she felt the sensation of the ground through her feet. She really did need to do this more often. She realized why Fluttershy always went barefoot. The next day, Twilight opened her door to see her shoes and socks hanging from the door nob on her castle. Twilight laughed and took them back inside. She decided to try and go barefoot more often. When she got inside she looked forward to the next time she could hang out with Fluttershy; they could probably go to dinner during a nice evening. And that was something to look forward to.
