Chapter 1 - 5 minutes of Freedom
“Run!”
“There coming!”
“Watch the left”
“LOOK OUT!”
The sound of a massive explosion echoes in my ears as I shoot bolt upright in my bed. Cold sweat drenching my face and body while my lungs try and catch up to each other. Throwing the sheets off, I get up and start pacing the length of the cell while talking aloud. ‘Damn it. Not the same damn dream again! Seriously it's been three days now!’ I say to myself. As I pace the face of small digital clock next to my bed slightly illuminates the bedpost while above in the four corners of the room, red recording lights of CC cameras glare down like beady red eyes. The clock reads 4:45 am eastern standard time. 5 minutes till the lights come on and another fun day begins. Stopping in the middle of the room I sigh “Well no time to worry about that”. Looking up to the cameras I wink and start to stretch out as the sound of an electrical buzz emanates from over head. The orbs dangling from the ceiling burst to life, their auras bouncing off the clear glass wall painting spots across my plain of vision. As my field of view returned to normal, I breathed in deeply, turned on my heel toward a small armoire located across from my bed.
Opening it your greeted to the smell of clean laundry and pineapple. ‘Guess they just finished stocking the laundry for the week. Not that I'm going to be here for much longer.’ I reach around to the bottom of the closet feeling for a pair of socks and boots. I have my shirt partially over my head as the sound of hooves pounding down the hall at a breakneck speed catches my attention. From the shear amount of noise it sounds like there are ten ponies coming this morning. Pulling my camo jacket on over the army green shirt I turn over to a full sized mirror inside the door making sure everything is straight, tied, and ready for some fun. An intercom overhead blares to life as five unicorn royal guards step into view stun spells primed.
“STEP AWAY FROM THE GLASS OR YOU WILL BE TERMINATED!” The intercom mare shouts as the remaining 5 guard ponies line up near the glass wall. Their gold plate armor slightly glistening under the white lights. Probably just got done polishing it before rushing down here. I do as I’m told keeping as close to the center of the room as possible all while gauging the guards. Sirens blare as the a panel of glass slowly slides open letting them into my domicile. With a smart ass grin plastering my face I welcome them the only way fitting for these … people.
“Morning everybody hope you slept well. Lets all have a proper work out this morning, Shall we!” My knuckles crack before quickly bending my knees and charge them in like a mad bull. The guards only have time to give a ‘What the fuck?!’ look before the full weight of my body barrels them off their feet and onto the floor. As they hit the ground blood splats the floor from one of the guards jaw. Outside the unicorns react quickly, funneling their spells through the open door trying to land a hit. The first spell zooms past my left cheek meer inches from connecting with the rest close behind. Meanwhile the other guards inside start to get up but are knocked out by the friendly fire. Three guards ponies are on the ground sleeping while the rest scatter for any cover. The distance between me and sweet, sweet freedom lessens with each passing second. That’s when the door started closing. Without a second thought my legs force myself to leap into the ever closing space. The floor slides underneath me just as the door closes behind locking the rest of the guards in; I get up quickly and sprint full tilt for the unicorns who just are just staring at what just happened
“Mind your head you retards!” is all I say as my arms open wide, the unicorn bodies ducking in a vain attempt to avoid the hit. Any spells they had dissipating as their heads come in contact with fast moving arm bars. Four of the five hit the ground with a crack their necks snapping like dried twigs, the fifth however managed to avoid my arms by a centimeter and took off down the opposite end of the corridor. I quickly look back to see the his tail tucked firmly between his legs before booking it myself in the other direction. Running down the hallway red alert lights go off while danger sirens blast the air with the same message.
“WARNING!”
“HOSTILE CAPTIVE ESCAPING!”
“WARNING!”
“HOSTILE CAPTIVE ESCAPING!”
All while this is going on I sprint past empty cells. Every time I and everyone else had broken out previously they had been occupied by the last remnants of humanity, those who resisted the conversion, fought back or just spoke out against the new foals and their way of life; Now they lay empty but I can still see their smiling faces and hear there cheers as I race to the door to freedom. ‘Ok just have to get to the exit, get off this rock and then your ass home free’ That phrase repeats in my head snapping me back to reality. It’s been the only plan we all agreed on since being inturned here; Break out, inspire, run like hell, FREEDOM. So far it hasn’t gotten me killed … yet. 50 feet ahead I spot the second most beautiful thing, a red door with a sign above and in glowing green letters … EXIT. Kicking it into high gear my lungs are a blaze, sirens are blaring around and my ears hear guards right on my tail and closing in fast.
35 feet - “Cease and desist human!” the lead pony shouts, seething rage in his voice. “Run, Run, Run as fast as you fucking can. You can’t catch me I’m the fucking gin-”. I'm cut off by the sounds of guns being cocked.
20 feet - Bullets whizz past my ears and body but I keep moving. ‘Oh fuck! They broke out the brass this time. Too bad they are terrible shots!’
10 feet - ‘Almost there, Almost there, Almost the-’ lightning shoots up my right calf as three rounds shred your flesh to pieces. “AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!”
7 feet - My heart is beating faster than the rhythm of a dragon force song, all the air in my lungs is hotter than the fracking sun all while my femoral vein has been made into the Niagra Falls of blood . Slowing down is not an option and they ain't taking me back this time you know it.
5 feet - My vision begins to blur from the rapid blood loss. Using all remaining energy in my body I throw myself into the air at the door. The pain is unbearable, bullets are still flying around but everything feels like time has slowed to a crawl.
Colliding with the door everything screams in agonizing pain, my dark brown eyes growing to the size of frying pans as my body land outside the facility face first. Cold air greets my exposed skin providing some small comfort before darkness begins to invade. “Well done Mr. Jackson you made it farther this time.” A face leans down to me and my limited vision is greeted to sight of the worst pony here, Captain Flash Sentry. “But now that you’ve had your 5 minutes of fun it’s time for you to meet the good doctor.” M eyelids grow heavy but, before they close I see two guards grab my arms and begin dragging me back though the exit door while a third wraps my shredded leg in magic trying to stop the blood. As the blackout hits I think to myself ‘Damn, 5 minutes, well at least you didn’t get caught before the door this time’.

I am a new writer to the world of fimfiction. This story is my very first work on the site. If you saw the original version of this piece than you probably saw how bad it was. However you may now notice that this story might have changed slightly since it was first posted. You see i tried to write in the style of "Anon" stories but i unfortunately got hit by a writer's block bigger than a ork WWWAAAGGGHHH! (and yes i will be using a few references to 40k in stories). so the story is going to change just a bit. The original premise is still there just with a better quality of writing and a easy concept to follow. If you have any comments, complaints or concerns please leave a comment below.
