The Apple siblings were always close to each other, closer than most siblings because they all had to learn to depend on one other after their parents passed away. But as close as they are, the two older Apple siblings can't help but feel something is missing, particularly in regards to Apple Bloom. They didn't know when they started feeling that way, nor did they know exactly what it was they wanted, but Applejack and Big Mac both knew they needed more Apple Bloom in their lives one way or another.
