Twilight thrust the glass double-doors open and stepped inside the restaurant most odious. Rarity sucked in a sudden gasp as she felt out the familiar smooth hardness of the large gemstone waiting for her there. Oh, yes, she knew that shape very well! A brilliant white diamond, just like the one on her cutie mark, was positioned on the crown just so that it would sit directly under the horn when worn. It was like a conduit, of sorts, a wire through which greater magic could flow.
Rarity was not feeling herself all of a sudden. Somehow the thought of such a powerful object falling into her lap seemed more marvellous than mysterious, more delightful than distressing. She had no qualms with its ominous appearance whatsoever!
“I’ll just tuck this little treasure away,” she murmured, turning to head back inside. Such a gorgeous headpiece simply couldn’t be left floating out on open balconies, bothering ponies with its magical glow. “Perhaps Twilight will be able to tell me something about what it is - after he’s finished with his duel, of course.”
Holding the answer to all her problems, Rarity turned from the balcony and retreated back to the comfort of piled up pillows and oceans of thick, stuffed sheets. She collapsed on her mattress with a thud that made the whole bed creak, and slept like a baby until the cockerel’s first crow.
Rap-a-tap-tap , was the wake-up call at Twilight’s door that morning. When no Twilight came to answer, it was swiftly followed after by a more insistent knock-knocky-knock . ...Eventually. “Urgrrgh,” Twilight groaned, stirring lazily in his bed. He cracked open a sleepy eye from under his messy morning mane to check the clock. If his sight wasn’t deceiving him - and at this early time it very well could have been - it was six o’clock sharp. Which was decidedly not his usual waking hour. He sat up in a slow, lurching arc, yawning and rubbing his eyes. “Mrr?”
It took a some extra knock-knocking and a dash more rap-tapping before Twilight finally managed to fall out of bed. His fuzzy pajamas, white with an inlaid gold weave, clung tight at the crotch, where his ever-eager cock was busying itself for a fresh new day. "Mm... Ahh… Hey there, Rarity…" Twilight hemmed and hawed, turning this way and that. He was starting to wake, slowly but surely, now that Rarity was here. Just the sight alone of the long-maned Unicorn was an invigorator for masculinity; any of Celestia's subjects could perform superhuman feats of strength and bravery with that muffin-topped debutante cheering them on from the sidelines.
Twilight's eyes roamed. He took in the sinfully curvaceous form of his friend, and once again thanked whatever God had seen fit to surround him with such sexy ponies. He was a bright boy, after all, and he knew exactly how much other stallions had to fuss and struggle to get the attentions of even a single mare. He’d need a pen and some paper to figure out exactly how lucky he was, but if he had to make an educated guess, Lady Luck had obviously taken a personal interest in him as well.
"Come inside while I get washed up?" he finally said, before turning to the stallion guard standing by her side. The poor fellow was already beginning to apologize for allowing such a bombastic threat this deep into Canterlot Castle, but Twilight simply shushed him with a gentle wave of his hand. "It's quite alright, Burlap Chafe. I think it would have taken the whole - yawn~ - platoon to keep Rarity out."
Twilight's stomach growled, and he sagged visibly, just about collapsing onto the taller, broader stallion. His soft hands scrabbled against the stud's iron breastplate, working to find a gentle purchase in his current helpless state. "Nnnh... Sorry… It’s a little early for me."
When the other stallion raised those heavily-muscled arms to steady the cutie colt, squeezing Twilight's shoulders in the process, Rarity just about popped a nosebleed. The handsome little magician gave her a sheepish smile, a quiet plea already at his lips: "And, uh, I could really use some breakfast…"
"So, what's the plan for today?" asked Twilight, teeth crunching through a big mouthful of Moonmallows. Rarity glanced a dagger at the bowl of sugary cereal out of the corner of her eye; her personal trainer would have a fit if she ever saw Rarity eating something so sugary. Her eyes fell to the splendid swell of her own pudgy gut, then trailed to Twilight's softly-rounded belly... He was actually just a hair skinnier than her.
Well, that was just to be expected when his ‘personal trainer’ was the Princess, wasn't it? She leaned back in her seat, drumming fingers on her stomach, trying not to feel jealous. "Just a few little warm-ups before we go to battle Trixie, dearest! I’ve been learning some fascinating massage techniques for smoothing out one's chakras, and they could be just the edge you need to beat her. You'll love it, I promise!"
She dipped her gaze down to her handbag, resting on the floor beside her. The Tiara from last night was slightly poking out of the corner, and she soon leant down, driving it down to the bottom of her knick-knacks with a fingertip. There would come a time and a place when she would show it off to Twilight, but that was neither here nor now!
After all, now was the time for something much more important: defeating Trixie! And Rarity, smart cookie she was, had developed a very comprehensive plan for doing exactly that.
“The first thing we shall do,” she said, snatching up Twilight’s bowl of sugar-frosted Moonmallows, “is get your diet on track. A cereal like this is hardly the breakfast of a champion!”
And then, before the poor unicorn could raise even a single objection, Rarity dumped the bowl’s contents straight out his window - hopefully not onto anything important. She had half a mind to do the same with the cookie jar sitting brazenly on his nightstand, but she’d have to be some sort of nightmarish demoness to deprive him of even those hard-won treats. Instead, she decided to ring the service bell and order him something much more healthier.
“There!” she said proudly, once Twilight was seated in front of a veritable breakfast feast. “Now this is a spread more suited for a prizefighter such as yourself, don’t you think?”
“Mm!” Twilight nodded, busily sucking down pineapple fruit smoothies in between bites of his omelette. It didn’t quite give the same sugary rush that Moonmallows provided, but Rarity had assured him that his meal contained all of the most important nutrients for his competition with Trixie, and from how good he felt after eating it, he was inclined to believe her! “Thanks, Rarity!”
“My pleasure, Twilight,” Rarity said warmly, her heart melting already with Twilight’s earnest praise. And to think how much more he would thank her after the rest of her training schedule! She only had a few hours to make Twilight into a lean, mean, magic-dueling machine, and with so little time she would most likely need to forgo the mean part and settle for simply lean. “Now keep eating. Chop chop!”
While Twilight wolfed down the last of his smoothies, Rarity made her move. She slipped around behind little Twilight in his high-backed chair, casting a single large, lusciously-rounded shadow across the back of his head... and two more, bigger shadows across the length of the table. "Now, relax dearie... and let fair Lady Rarity work her magic. You're not the only one with a magic touch around here, you know."
While Twilight sucked and slurped, Rarity probed and molested, beginning by lightly massaging and rubbing the prettyboy's shoulders, and soon settling in to giving him the full Rarity special. The Rarity Special resumed, and Rarity put the odd moment out of mind... Or rather, it felt like it was forced down, suppressed beneath all conscious thought. She welcomed the sensation, like someone who had just felt a niggling itch finally pass them by.
Soon, she had Twilight down on the floor, experimenting with a host of body-contorting stretches and poses that would be guaranteed to help him dodge Trixie’s villainous spells. Lots of limbering and toning! Twilight seemed to relax as well, and soon he was often looking to her - or, perhaps more accurately, her ample bust and generous hips - for help in his poses. Alas, eventually, the tense moment between the friends who could be more had to come to an end. A chime echoed about Twilight’s chambers as the hour of eight o'clock finally rolled around. It was time for his duel!
And that was where the problems began. Somewhat for Twilight, but very predominantly for Rarity. She was about to have a very bad, yet also very good, day.
At first she was happy just to be along with her good chum Twilight, who looked so fetching in one of his nicer dresses. Over the moon, one could say. Having lived in Manehattan all her life, this was Rarity’s first real taste of adventure... and the thought that Twilight did things like this all the time just made her yearn for more! Never before had she so very much wanted to be a part of the handsome little stallion’s life.
The problems began when they arrived at the wreckage of the Sloppy Joe’s burger joint. That was, after all, where Trixie had asked them to meet her... and yet there was no sign of the cheeky magician anywhere!
Rarity kicked a stray rock, hands stuffed into her skirt pockets. “Now how about that!” she said, quite huffily. “No sign of her at all. I suppose the only trick that troublesome Unicorn knows is how to make our patience disappear!”
A grin spread suddenly across her face, little gears turning busily in her mind. “Well, there’s nothing for it, I suppose. No Trixie means no duel, mm? That just means we have the rest of the day to carry things on at my place! I have a lovely pussy I’m simply dying to show you.” A pause, and then: “Her name is Opal!”
But, at least for the time being, Twilight seemed interested in neither Rarity’s pussy nor her cat. Instead, the pretty librarian was standing on the edge of the wide-open crater, still smoldering with excess burger grease. “Twilight, darling? Did you find something?”
The ladycolt nodded, squatting down in the dirt. His silken skirts fanned out over his lusciously thick thighs, creeping up over a bottom as thick as any mare’s. “Yes... Look! It seems Trixie is more skilled in magic than we could have guessed.”
“Whatever do you mean, dearest?” she asked, leaning in to resume her earlier massage on his shoulders. “From what I saw of her, she hardly seemed all that much more than conjurer of cheap tricks!”
“Put simply, Rarity, these are Jogarithmic Algorithms, a cryptographic language invented by the great Mathemagician Tracksuit over five-hundred years ago! Once the expressions are decoded, and reduced to their simplest functions, they can be rendered as guide markers for travellers on journeys.”
“Darling, you can’t be saying Trixie came back here after we left. Shifting all this dirt around to spell some letters would take hours without being disturbed.” Rarity’s fingers pressed a bit deeper into Twilight’s slender shoulders, peering at him over the tops of her shuttered sunglasses. She smiled, and one of her mischievous hands rose up to give him a playful bop on the nose. “It’s simply not plausible.”
Twilight pushed his glasses up his nose. “No, that’s exactly it, Rarity! It wasn’t the magical carvings that surprised me so much, it was the method in which they were placed. When you released that - ah - chaotic blast of magic yesterday, Trixie was able to impair the weave slightly. Like tugging at a thread sticking out of a ball of yarn, really.”
He waved his hands towards the sigils. “In the time between you releasing your energy and Sloppy Joe’s collapsing like a Sloppy Joe, Trixie had not only siphoned off some of your spell’s energy, but she’d recalibrated the overall conjuration.”
“...In plain words, pretty please?”
Twilight thrust one fist into his other palm. “She stamped this message on the underside of your explosion. She might not be as powerful as either of us, but the subtlety of this spell speaks volumes about her skills!”
After that explanation, Rarity felt like she had to pick her jaw up off the ground. And this Unicorn was supposed to be Twilight’s stalker? She buried her face in her hands, shaking her head. It just wasn’t fair... Just what sort of pony was this ‘Trixie’?
It was bad enough that her intent to do the horizontal mambo with the femboy of her dreams had been interrupted by some hysterical loon, but to find out she was a dangerous loon on top of that… Nine in the morning though it might have been, Rarity still felt like she could use a stiff drink.
“Well, anyway!” she finally said, breaking the silence. With a flourish, she magically poofed off her tracksuit. Where it had form-fit previously now she wore a sexy librarian costume, courtesy of a ruffled white blouse, slitted pencil-skirt, gaudy earrings and some very chunky platform stilettos. “I studied Doubles in Algebrayics at Manehattan U., so why not let your good friend Rarity help you out with this little - ”
“Finished!” said Twilight proudly, snapping shut a spiral-bound notebook. The algorithms lead us just a few leagues out of Canterlot, and down the bank of a river. We’d better get going, I don’t know how many more steps there are like this...”
“Oh. Well. Alright, then.” Rarity pouted, bending the last part of her costume, a little wooden pointer stick, between her fingers. She could already feel it, right down to the bottom of her stilettos: this was going to be a long day.
Kingdom of Twilight Sparkle 4: The Mare of His Dreams
“Three boats? Why would there be three boats?” asked Rarity, exasperation creeping into her voice. Following Trixie’s instructions had indeed led them to a riverbank just as Twilight had predicted, which in turn took them to a trio of identical rowboats tethered by the water’s edge. The walk here had been less than pleasant, and Rarity’s previously perfectly-set mane was now beginning to spring up here and there, errant strands falling out of place.
“It could be another puzzle?” mused Twilight.
A lesser pony might have scoffed. But Rarity trusted Twilight enough to know better. “Oh, look, it looks like there’s some pictures written on the sterns... A fox, a chicken... And some grain?”
Rarity tapped her chin. “Ah, maybe if we...”
“Finished!” announced Twilight, hopping into the second boat. Rarity grumbled and followed after him, even as the other two boats glubbed to the bottom of the lake on either side.
Puzzle after puzzle came the pair’s way after that, and no matter how many times she changed her fabulous wardrobe, Rarity always found Twilight one step ahead of her! Whether it was hitting correct totals on dartboards, navigating fields where a single misstep would see one encased in a big piece of magical chewing gum, or some other third thing, she found her burning desire to be of assistance constantly flummoxed by the pretty boy’s razor-sharp mind.
But not all of the challenges were mental, in the end. And that was when she finally reached her last straw.
They soon found themselves at the foot of a rocky cliff face. Rarity let out a deep, frustrated moan from the very pit of her belly all the way up to the tippy-top of her head.
“Trixieee!” she scowled, even as she flourished (less elegantly than before) into a mountain climber’s outfit that showed endless inches of tantalizingly thick thighs, milky flesh to tease and titillate. She adjusted her lederhosen, then tooted on a big alphorn. “Well, shall we then?”
When Twilight didn’t reply right away, she leaned over. She gave the giant horn another little toot. “Twilight?”
But the pudgy stallion’s jaw was set, both his arms wrapped tight around his belly. He was staring up the mountain with a less-than-pleased look on his face.
“Rarity, I...”
“Yes, dear?” Her voice lost a little of its spark as his tone grew all seriousy-weriousy. It was the very last thing Rarity liked to hear in a man’s voice, and even more last in her favorite man’s voice. Twilight was a stallion suited to playful drinking, dining and even more playful rutting until his legs gave out. Hearing him sound so grim all of a sudden made her squirm in discomfort, as if she had suddenly developed an itch she couldn’t quite scratch.
“It’s not safe for you up there. I have my teleportation magic, but I couldn’t let you get hurt climbing up there... That’s what Trixie is hoping for, I bet.”
He closed his eyes and sighed. “I won’t let you get hurt because of her.”
“Don’t be silly, darling, I’m stronger than I loo - Hey!” Twilight had started preparing a spell, and Rarity immediately threw herself forwards, wrapping her arms around his midsection from behind. She held him tightly, fingers dragging the fabric of his shirt this way and that. “Don’t go! Twilight!”
He looked back at her, a slightly-strained smile on his face. “I’m sorry, Rarity... But I promise I’ll be back before you know it!”
“It’s not about how long you’ll be gone, it’s about you being gone at - !”
A flash of purple light played across Rarity’s porcelain features. She suddenly found herself holding nothing but thin air.
“... All.”
Rarity’s face couldn’t have fallen longer or harder if it had jumped off the cliff itself. Why, oh why, did this always have to happen? After all the time she’d spent searching for Twilight’s heart, after all she’d done to try and swerve him off this dangerous path, he’d still gone on to face Trixie without her!
“Oooh…!” Rarity took a deep breath, readying herself for the disappointed mother of all outbursts, but all that came out at the end was a deep sort of sigh. “Why even bother? If a fashionista screams in the forest and there’s no tabloid reporter to hear it, it hardly makes a sound.”
Time and time again, this very pattern had played out. Twilight had busy schedules, important duties, bigger women to bother with in his life. If he had ever bothered to spend time with her , from his pick of any number of buxom, bombshell vixens, it had surely been out of friendly pity more than anything. She stared disappointedly down at the ground, a quiet frown on her lips. “Really, Rarity,” she muttered, “why ever did you think you had a shot with him?”
Celestia, Luna, Sombra, and now Trixie! These were the ponies worthy of Twilight’s attention, to say nothing of his overfed monster of a member. Rarity ranked a distant fifth behind such forces of personality, a light shower compared to swirling hurricanes of passion and sex appeal. Oh, woe was her, to compete with such mares for her perfect stallion’s heart!
It was at her lowest moment, when she had all but given up, when the Tiara made its move. It had patiently bided its time for months now, waiting for the right moment to appear before Rarity... and now its plan was in motion.
In the midst of her stewing, while her mind was occupied with wallowing in whatever it was ponies wallowed in, the little crown in her handbag began to glow with a frightfully fierce light. Rarity could hardly see it through her bag’s plushly premium design, but suddenly it felt as if the clouds in her mind were clearing. The sky above them was an endless inky black, a limitless canvas of dark design for her to playwright her script upon.
And there were so many changes she would have made, too!. Why, if this whole production had been left up to Rarity, she would have written it as a heart-throbbing romance, a rollercoaster of ups and downs as a voluptuous white unicorn sought out the hung purple soulmate of her dreams. There certainly wouldn’t have been a part for a villainess like Trixie - or, if she had deigned to put such a role in, Trixie would have been soundly humiliated by the end of the first act.
It wasn’t fair in the least!
“Now just hold on a minute!” Rarity said suddenly, speaking as much to the world as she was herself. “Since when does a diamond let itself get outshone?”
“Twilight should be mine! How dare that pompous little Trixie think she deserves him more than I do!” Rarity strode over to wall of the cliff with renewed purpose, carefully measuring its imposing height in her mind. She threw herself at the cliff, hands scrabbling at the dirt, trying to claw even the briefest of handholds out of the mud. She’d climb it if she had to!
“And if Twilight Sparkle thinks he can leave the belle of the ball behind to go out on his own, then… then...” But almost as she soon as she’d begun to try, Rarity felt her grip waning, her strength fading. She was no buckin’ Apple Farmer or infinitely-energetic party planner: she slipped back down to earth.
Rarity pouted, and stomped at the ground with fearsome frustration. “...Then even a lady has her patience! I’ll give them both a rude awakening they shan’t forget!”
The bright flashes of light bathing the bottom of the cliff in creepy, ethereal lights were lost on Twilight Sparkle, however!
