His golden bown eyes twinkled pity, as he Clasped his tan hands together in mock Prayer. Grimacing slightly at the scrawny boy sitting on the floor beside my bed, I sighed and ran a hand through my black hair " you know I am not the most comfortable With your... hobby." "But ezzy I can't do it my self!" I rolled my green eyes Their he goes with the silly nickname agian, "Please refrain from calling me "ezzy" It's.. childish". Adam pouted again tilting his head in thought causing his fluffy brown hair to flop to the side, He then smiled "if you let me do this... I'll do all your chores for a month" I was about to tell him no but stopped, If I didn't have chores it would certainly Free up much needed time. My sociology grades have been slipping abit, "Do you mean it?" Adams face lit up and he launched forward, Rapping his arms around my waist in a some what awkword hug. I pat him on the head messing his hair up, "Thank you ezzy, thank you so much!" He practically squealed. I sighed "so what do we need to do?" Adam let go and moved to his desk and pulled a scrappy looking book from its drawer, "All you'll have to do is look pretty, and hold this book". He moved back to his desk to retrieve more needed items such as some notes and a black candle. I examined the book, the cover felt leathery and thin, it was all but plain except for a dulled gold horse shoe stitched to the front. Oppening the book I tilted my head, Each letter had been carefully hand written, The style of the lettering was sharp and thin. I began too read allowed. " entry one. Tis my first hearths warming with just my sister, and she has so graciously gifted me this hoof made journal. The year has been rather difficult since mother and father passed of feather flue. But we have stayed strong, and still continue ower lessons with starswirl. I looked up, Adam stared at me eyes wide as dinner plates, "What?" I asked. Adam grabbed my shoulders, gripping into my pink hoodie, "You can read that?!" He said flabbergasted. "Well yeah it's plain English?" Adam shook me "NO ITS NOT!" He barked I looked back at the book, my eyes widened. The letters had changed into symbols I did not recognize. "But.. how it was just English! How can the words in a book just change?" "Xenoglossy" adam spoke bewildered, "What?" I had no idea what the hell he just said. "Xenoglossy that's what it's called when a person can speak, read or write in a language they do not know, or rather should not know". I staired at the book as Adam closed it in my hands. "Let's get started" he spoke softly. We sat on the floor across from each other,black candle sitting on a piece of paper with an ornate pattern drawn on it between us. Still holding the book I asked "What is this ritual supposed to do?" Adam put his left hand on the books cover "it should show you another time or another place." I tilted my head "if you say so.." Adam began to speak in a commanding tone "fluxus a tempore visus oculi, ostende mihi Deus occulta post tergum reliquit. tergo relinquent patefaciat." The book began to glow and heat up, Adam smiled and laughed "ha! It's working!" He lifted his hand from the book, And lit the candle speaking one final word "revelare" The room was filled with hot blinding light. I yelled is surprise "ah what the fuck!" .... The light faded and the room cooled, Ezekiel rubber his eyes with a hand to clear his blurred vision. The floor was cold and hard, Deffenitly not the plush carpet of his room. "Adam?" He asked as he opened his eyes, Only find he was no longer in the frat house. But in stead face to face with an angry white face. "Horse?" He said in confusion. How dare it have the oddasitity to insult her in such a way, and no less take what is her personal property. "Who and what are you? How did you find this?!" She demanded in a stern voice. The creature sputtered "i-i I'm.. I'm a human, my name Ezekiel Charter, wha-". Celestia stamped a white hoof "and how did you come by my journal!" She move forward, Very much displeased. "I-I didn't my friend had it, I-" They were nose too nose "then how did you're friend have and why?!" Ezekiel shrank back "I don't know how he got it. We just did a ritual and-" "What kind of ritual" celestia was regaining her composure. He cocked his head forrowing his brow "I'm not entirely sure of the specifics, but i do know it was supposedly to allow me to see somthing." She tilted her head "such as?" Ezekiel cleared his throat " such as the past, an other location perhaps even an other world. But it seem to be that it has taken me to another place?" Furrowing her brow she spoke "I see.. did you read any of it?" "I uh.. only the first entry. I had look away after that and the symbols changed. " Ezekiel slowly stood up brushing the wrinkles from his blue jeans, celestia took a step back, "What do you mean changed?" "Exactly that, I looked back and they were different. Adam said I'm a xenoglossy." Celestia nodded "I see, such a thing is not unknown in equestria." Tilting his head Ezekiel asked "equestria?" "Yes equestria that is the name of the country, but to be more specific we are in canterlout castle." Celestia laughed "oh dear my apologies, I believe you must not know who I am?" Ezekiel shook his head "no I do not." She flaired her wing slightly as she spoke "I am princess cilestia, ruler of equestria along side my sister luna." Ezekiel tilted his head then gasped "your an alicorn?! How is that possible? Wait how are we even speaking too each other!" The current situation finally started to sink into the younge mans mind... Eye widening he panicked "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD, NONONONONO!" He brought his hands to his face, "This isint earth. FUCK SHIT THIS IS NOT MY HOME!" Celestia stepped back startled by Ezekiel's sudden outburst "their is no need for such words, please do calm yourself." Ezekiel looked up too celestia fear in his eyes, then looking around the large marble room eyes stopping on the door. " I'm not supposed to be here." He rasped. He ran for the door panic driven, But before he could touch it's handle he was stopped by an unseen force. "No!" He struggled "No I need to get out of here!" He screamed tears Welling in his eyes "I can't be here!" He was forced still, "Ezekiel please do calm yourself, you have nothing to fear here." Celestia spoke softly. Ezekiel looked too the floor shaking as he silently cried, "I-I... I shouldn't be here. This is not my world..." Tears rolled down his cheaks. Celestia frowned as she released him from her magic, kneeling on the floor beside him she nuzzeled his cheak, "Ezekiel... I will do all I can to see you returned home." Ezekiel wiped the tears from his face, " Thank you celestia." Celestia smiled softly "how about I take you to a guest quarters so you can rest, whilst I disscuss the current situation with my sister?" He nodded in response. The room was large as was the circular bed at it's Center. It had been well furnished with a desk, dresser, wardrobe, vannity stand and a short coffee table with four cushions around it. It also had large private bath room comprised of violet tile floor and stone walls, and had a large white clawfoot tub double sink with wide mirror, and a simple toilet (thank god) and an all over colour them of violet and magenta. I sat on the bed (it was soft) and let out a shaky breath "I wonder what happened to Adam, if he is still in our room, or if he is here somewhere lost. please be safe adam..." I lay back and close my eyes, I go over what happened over and over... Luna shook her head starry blue main waving with her movement "but sister how could such a thing be possible?" Celestia tapped a hoof to her chin in thought, she hummed then answered "Perhaps it is due to the locator spell I cast on it all those years ago, that would explain why he appeared at my hooves." Luna gave a slow nod "Yes, that does seem to make sense. But as you said he has no magic of his own, so how would he achieve such spells." Celestial pouted "indeed, but this Adam he mentioned perhaps does." Luna tilted her head "Who is Adam? Are they a pony?" Shaking her head celestia replied "I do not believe so, I suspect they are also... human." Celestia trotted over to her desk lifting a white quill with magic. "I am going to send word for twilight and fluttershy too come, so they may assist with gathering information from our guest." Author's Note Here is chapter one I hope you enjoyed. After another roll of complaint and an eye roll from rainbow dash, Twilight opened her to lecture her on the responsibilities of a teacher. But was interrupted by a loud belch and flash of green light. Spike held the letter I his purple claws "It's from princess celestia." Twilight gasped for it had been quite awhile since celestia last sent a letter, She quickly snatched it with her magic and began to read aloud. "My dearest twilight. I am calling upon you and fluttershy, Too come speak too equestrias latest guest. His name is Ezekiel and he knows little of equestria as well as we know little of his Homeland. He is quite timid around ponies, which is the reason I insist fluttershy accompanies you to canterlout. As I believe her skills with animals may come too be useful with our shy friend, As well as your experience with gathering and categorizing information. A carriage will arrive too you're castle tomorrow morning. Sincerely -celestia Twilight cocked her purple head and humed, "Well I do wonder what he is, as it seems too be implied his kind is new to equestria?" Fluttershy knitted her brows looking to her yellow hooves pink main falling in front of her eyes "Well I hope he isint scary... or mean. Though I am also curious of what kind of creature he is and wh-" Rainbow dash cut her off waving her blue forelegs, "And what if it's dangerous?! Who knows what this thing could be capable off!" Apple jack tisked at rainbow adjusting her tan Stetson with a orange hoof, rolling her green eyes. "OH hush now dash! Ain't much tha can be a threat too three alicorn in the same place. And ah reckon he won't try nothin if he got any commonsence. Rarity then piped up in an excited tone cloping her white whooves togeather purple main bouncing " Well I for one am excited, who knows what marvellous fashions their culture could produce!" Pinkie pie shot off her confetti cannon, caking her pink main and coat with confetti "And I can throw him a welcome to equestria party!" Starlight glimmer shrugged "Well all we really can do is wait and see what we are dealing with." Twilight tossed and turned trying to fall asleep, But her mind was rushed with questions that she could not answer. Groaning loudly she gave up and crawled out of bed, "maybe some tea will quell my thoughts." As she drugged along to the kitchen she mauled over what tea would best suited for the job. "definitely peppermint chamomile." Reaching the kitchen she gazed along the tea cabnit, Only to find they were out of peppermint chamomile. Flattening her ears she swore, "Well buck me, coffee it is then." And turned tail for the coffee pot... She didn't even bother with getting a cup, just took the pot as is no cream or sugar and made way for her studie. Fluttershy kicked in her sleep whining and mumbling, "n-no go.. go away... stop." She winced and roller over on her back, Face contorting in fear... She ran as fast as she could hooves feeling led filled, but the creature kept its pace. Long legs strode unwavering as its tall form smoothly moved through the trees, Curved horns out lined by moon light and glowing eyes that pierced the shadows on it face. She ran and ran but that had become for nothing. As soon fluttershy found her self entangled in thorny vines unable to move. She screamed and cried for somepony anypony to help her, as it reached its claws out for her. "Fluttershy..." She awoke shooting up gasping for breath, her heart pounded hard trying to bust from her chest. On the way too canterlout twilight felt jittery, if was excitement or caffeine she did not know. But she was deffenitly nervous of what was too come, hoping not too offend or over steep the line with her questions. Fluttershy on the the other hoof was quiet, Which was not unusual for her but it seem different this time. Twilight draped a purple wing over her friend and smiled, earning soft smile in return. "Don't worry twilight, I'll be fine I'm just a little.. nevouse." Princess celestia greeted them at the gates, Asking if their trip had gone well and if they were ready to meet Ezekiel. Not wanting to waist time twilight gave a confident yes, And they made way for their guest. They reached the door too his room and celestia knocked , "it's celestia, may I enter?" "C-come in!" He stuttered, Celestia opened the door and they followed her in. He stood at the balcony doors, tall bipedal little hair except for the top of its head, where a plain black main? Layed curling slighting around his small ears. His skin looked smooth and was light in colour, eyes dark green framed by thick black lashes. Fluttershy coward behind celestia, And twilight jaw was on the floor. //-------------------------------------------------------// A pleasant conversation //-------------------------------------------------------// A pleasant conversation I cocked my head at the two new ponies. One was a small purple alicorn, she seem to be at a complete loss for words. The other a yellow Pegasus with long pink main and tail, her teal eyes were fearful, Which made me frown. Celestia smiled, “I'd like too introduce Twilight Sparkle princess of friendship and Fluttershy the element of kindness.” I gave a polite nod, “it is nice too meet you both, my name is Ezekiel Charter.” Twilight’s ears perked and she spoke “ah I see you speak equestrian, where did you learn?” She pulled a note book and pencil from her saddle bag, She flipped it open ready to Wright. I shook my head and gave a small laugh, “Well you see our are languages are spoken the same but written differently, and it’s called English where I'm from.” Her eyes lit up a million questions coming to mind, Twilight cleared her throat, “Well lets get comfortable, I have a few questions for you.” Celestia had called for tea and we situated our selves around the short coffee table. As twilight set out her note book and some flash cards that assumedly contained her questions or at least some of them, Celestia served the tea. I took a sip and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour, “hmm I taste the blueberry… but I can’t tell what the other flavour is.” Celestia smiled “rose hip and lemon grass.” Was her simple answer I gave a nod “it's very good, who ever made it sure knows what their doing.” Twilight lightly tapped on the table to gain our attention, “may I proceed with my questions?” I nodded my approval, and she lifted a card with her magic. She cleared her throat “What is you're full name?” “Ezekiel Darwin Charter.” “What is the name or name's of your species?” “The scientific name is Homo Sapiens, but human is more commonly used.” “IS you’re species a docile one, yes or no?” Ezekiel thought form a moment “Yes and no.” Twilight hummed, “What is the name of you country?” “Canada spelt c-a-n-a-d-a. " Twilight made a separate note on another piece of paper, “Mhm and where is Canada?” “the continent of North America.” Twilight tilted her head, “ I will follow up on that later on…” She selected another card, “What is the dietary type of you species?” I paused for a minute thumbing the side of my tea cup, not sure of how to answer. With a sigh I replied in one word “omnivorous…” The three mares were silent staring at me as if I had suddenly sprouted a second head. Twilight opened her mouth to replay but could only stumble her words. “I uh- I um… I NEED A MOMENT!” and in a flash of light she was gone from the room. I looked down brows furrowed wishing I had lied, I was sure this was going to be no light issue due to how Twilight reacted. “Ezekiel” Celestia said in a flat tone causing me to flinch “IS you're spices a… predatory one?” I nodded remaining silent, Too afraid to look at her. Fluttershy finally spoke, “w-would you ever…” she pause a moment “would you ever eat a pony?” I shook my head and looked up her eyes held determination, and stared into mine unwavering. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding, “Never…” I held our stare and she smiled turning to Celestia, “I believe him.” She spoke with assurance. It was then Twilight returned in another flash of light… Dressed head too hoof in armour, she smiled “I am ready too continue!” I laughed which caused Twilight to frown, “I promise there is absolutely no need for armour. I don’t bite.” I said smiling. I sat out on the balcony cross legged studying the night sky, it was strangely so similar too the sky back home. So many similar constellations but also many that are different, I could tell the moon was different it looked smoother. But the sky was where the similarities ended, the city look different as well as the plants and animals even if it was subtle I could tell. It felt like I had been dropped in a fantasy world or cartoon, their were so many impossible things. From talking ponies with horns and Wings their apparently was also gryphons, hippogriff that also happen to be hippocampus, dragons, changlings and so much more. My train of thought was derailed by a voice, “greetings Ezekiel, I do believe it is time we meet face to face.” I turned to see a tall blue pony though she was not as tall as Celestia, Her aqua eyes held strength she also had an ethereal main twinkling with stars that flowed in an non-existent breeze. I gawked in awe at her main it was like a piece of the night sky, She then spoke again. “I am Luna princess of the night and- are you listening?” I shook my head and stood up, “Yes.. you just caught me off guard, it‘s nice to meet.” She smiled “likewise… so I have been informed you are omnivorous, And I was curious as too… what you eat exactly.” I was honestly surprised she asked “D-do you really want too know?” She nodded “Yes, please do tell me. I want too know if you’ll eat any ponies.” I sighed, I think this is the start of a theme. Author's Note Well here it is chapter 3. It's a little longer than the others so far, at 911 words! Luna leaned in closer to me her expression stoic, “Do go on, I am prepared to listen.” She did not take her eyes off me. I huffed, “Fine... I’ll keep it simple and honest. But keep in mind human's are the only sentient being in my world.” Luna nodded, “Of course.” I inhaled and spoke with haist “Chicken, cow, pig, turkey, fish, deer, elk, moose, pheasants, duck, goose, and a few other things.” I rubbed the back of my neck nervously waiting for her to respond. “That’s all? I was expecting more,” Luna said, only raising an eyebrow I nodded confused as she smiled, “Well in any case it would seem you are not as voracious as some creatures here.” With a quizzical expression I cocked my head, “should I be relieved or worried by this?” Luna hummed tapping a hoof to her chin, “perhaps both it would depend on how well you can fend for yourself if threatened.” Crossing my arms I huffed “as long as it’s not much larger than myself I would be fine, but if I ever come face to face with a dragon it would probably crush me like a bug.” Luna laughed at that, as she trotted past me to the edge of the balcony, “Indeed not many can put up much of an fight against a dragon that is full grown or even one that is still young.” We stood in silence staring at the sky for a moment. Frowning, I looked to Luna, “ Could you be straight with me Luna, do you think there's any chance of me getting home, or am I stuck here for good?” Luna lifted a hoof resting it on my arm, to try comforting me. “I’m sorry to say it... but the chances are slim to none, As their are still many things even my sister and I are incapable of doing, even with so much power between us both.” I laughed much to my dismay, “Well I guess that should be expected everyone has their limit after all.” Luna nodded as she withdrew her hoof from my arm. “let us change the topic, Things are getting depressive.” Luna gave a reassuring smile, “how about we tell our stories,” I gave Luna a criticizing look. She gave me a light shove and smiled, “Come on, I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.” I thought for a moment and shrugged, “There isn’t much to tell...I’m pretty boring really.” Luna pouted,” why don’t you tell me about what exactly lead you too coming here, from the beginning.” I leaned on the balcony railing tapping a finger on it's cold stone surface. “Well that would be due to a dear friends choice in hobby or rather lifestyle I guess, you see he has pagan beliefs and practices Wicca of some sort. I found it all rather weird but he was happy with it, so I felt no need to be concerned or complain about it. Though he has scared me a few times...” Luna tilted her head, “how so?” Grimacing I continued, “Well I have caught him collecting his own blood, along with finding an animal heart in our mini fridge more than once. He even made me a bone dream catcher with string made from my hair, but that was made to help me with a problem with nightmares. I was only bothered by it since he had been secretly collecting my hair for weeks without me knowing about it.” Luna hummed, “ Wicca or mysticism as we call it is actually not uncommon in equestria it is often used by non unicorn, and this friend are they the one you’ve previously mentioned to Celestia, Adam correct?” I smiled, “ that’s right, the one and only Adam.” Luna nodded,” And you had pertained to assist him in his endeavours, which yielded to be more than you bargained for?” I clasped my hands together with an exasperated laugh, “That's a bit of an understatement, I was honestly not expecting anything too happen.” Luna raised a brow,” so you did not believe him to be capable in his practices?” I sighed and nodded, “I was sceptical… but now I'm not. How could I still be after all that’s happened.” Luna tilted her head,” I see… well I guess I better keep to my word, I will just give you the basic rundown.” She cleared her throat closing her eyes,” My sister I have governed over equestria for many years, thou the majority of those years have been celestia alone…” I motioned her to go on, she sighed,” when I was younger I had been filled with much resentment and jealousy towards Celestia. I could no longer stand idle as she got all the glory and I was seen as but her shadow, and it was with a bitter heart I let my morals go. A great darkness had consumed me, twisting my being in too a creature of malice deceit and darkness. I was lost in my own spiteful mind and had tried to kill my sister to take total control of equestria, only too fail tremendously… Celestia had managed to over power me by using the elements of harmony, her and equestria’s last defence and most powerful artifact. And it was with that power I was imprisoned on the moon for millennia, left too watch the world shift and change…Watch as I was forgotten. Lost too the sands of time, buried in myth and legend.” I stared at Luna completely lost for words, their was so much pain and regret in her eyes. I reached out a hand and gently pat her on the back causing her to tense momentarily. “ I would say I understand but that would be a little dishonest on my part.” Luna smiled,” well our situations are more different than similar… thank you for talking to me and for listening, goodnight Ezekiel.” I gave a curt nod,” goodnight.” Luna spread her Wings flying of into the night, leaving me to mull over conversation.
