The Little Matchstick Filly
A foal goes out to sell matches
it is a bitterly cold Hearth Warmings Eve. Horse-drawn carriages rumble past, carrying ponies home to warm fires and roast suppers. But one little foal cannot go home, not until she has sold her bundle of matches. The wares of the poor little match filly illuminate her cold world, bringing some beauty to her tragic life.
Based on the little matchstick girl by Hans Christian Andersen
