Chapters It was just a normal day for the princesses. Just their daily routine. Doing paperwork, helping others, or dealing with some crisis. They never have the time to spend time with one another or a friend. But now, they have the time to spend some sisterly time with eachother. They were drinking cups of tea and discussing about what happened today. The conversation stopped since Luna had to go check dreams.
"I have to go check on dreams. See you later, sister," Luna said, flying off. Celestia then went up to her bed chambers since it was her time to rest. She knew her sister was the Princess of the Night and she takes care of the dreams. She soon then fell asleep.
Celestia was somewhere not in her bedroom. She was somewhere else. It looked like Equestria but way different. The place looked like it was in the ancient times. The Sun Princess looked at everything around her with widened eyes.
Am I in the ancient times of Equestria? She thought.
Celestia knew that this place looked familiar. She decided to walk further down into the place. She started to get a better look at it. Just then, she saw Canterlot Castle. It looked way different than it did today. The Sun Princess gasped at the sight of it.
Now I know that I'm in the ancient times of Equestria! She thought once again.
The alicorn thought that was all she was going to see but that was not all. She saw two alicorns with two daughters. The female one was named Galaxia and the male one was named Cosmos. The ponies who were born during the ancient times would know that there was a male alicorn. Celestia gasped, knowing who these ponies were.
Mother and father!
She and her sister are the daughters of this pair. The parents weren't just normal alicorns, but a king and queen. They have ruled Equestria for many years, with the royal sisters next in line. When they were younger, their mother used to tell them stories while their father was busy. He was always like that. He wanted to make sure his kingdom was safe. His wife wasn't bothered by that though. Although, she did want him to spend more time with their children.
...
Years later, there was a threat coming to the kingdom. It was a very terrible threat. They were a group of creatures called draconequuses. They wanted to overthrow the king and queen of Equestria so they could rule it. They had a son named Discord and he was next in line to lead the group. King Cosmos started to train warriors so they could battle the threatening creatures. Queen Galaxia took care of young Celestia and Luna. After a few weeks, the war began...
...
"Give us your kingdom!" The draconequus king demanded.
"Never!" King Cosmos replied with fury.
There was fighting. Lots of fighting. It lasted for hours. After a few hours, something happened. The king of Equestria had disappeared. Nopony knew where he went. This made his wife and his children worried. The queen then decided to go out and look for him.
"Stay here, girls. I'm going to look for your father."
She then vanished. Hours later, the queen of Equestria was still not back. Ponies started panicing, including the royal sisters.
"Tia! I'm scared!" said Luna, as if she was about to cry. Celestia hugged her sister, hoping that it would calm her down. Luna wasn't the only one afraid. Celestia was too.
I hope mom and dad return soon...
...
More hours passed. They still weren't back. A patrol then decided to go out and look for them. After a while, they found their dead bodies. The ponies became emotional when they saw their lifeless souls. They knew everypony were going to grief for a while, but for the royal sisters, the grief would last longer. All of them then headed back, tears streaming down their faces. When they were back, everypony was concerned about the state they were in. One of the ponies of the patrol then revealed that the king and queen of Equestria were dead.
"T-The king and queen are dead!"
...
Everypony was crying. They were upset that their beloved king and queen died. Celestia and Luna were crying harder than all of them.
"MAMA!" Luna yelled, sobbing loudly.
"I know, Luna, I know..." Celestia said sniffling.
The older Celestia watched this tragedy. She didn't want to see this anymore. She wanted it to stop. Tears started streaming down her face.
"NO STOP! MAKE IT STOP!" She yelled, sobbing loudly.
The dream was still here.
"STOP!!!" She yelled again, sobbing louder.
The dream then stopped.
...
Celestia woke up back in her bedroom. Tears were flowing down her face non-stop. Tears also stained her pillow. Luna then came rushing into her bedroom. She wanted to see if her sister was alright.
"Sister! Are you alright? I saw the dream..."
The Moon Princess gasped when she saw her older sibling in bad condition. She walked up to her and put her wing around her.
"Sister..." She said in a soft voice.
Celestia then broke down sobbing again. Luna then hugged her sister so she could calm her down. It made younger sibling upset that her older sibling was sobbing uncontrollably like this. After a few minutes, Celestia was now calmer. Tears stained her cheeks and her eyes were red and puffy. Luna looked at her in the eyes.
"I saw the dream about mom and dad..." She said. "It was sad when they died..."
Celestia sniffled. "I know..."
"I know how much emotion it brings, dear sister," Luna said in an understanding tone.
All Celestia could do was nod. She was thankful that she has a sister who understands her. Luna decided they should go have a cup of tea. That always calmed The Sun Princess down.
"Sister," Luna began. "Lets go have a cup of tea together. That always calms you down."
Celestia nodded in agreement. Both of them then went to the kitchen.
...
The royal sisters were enjoying some tea together. Celestia was thinking about something. Luna noticed it and decided to get her attention.
"Celestia?"
Celestia snapped out of her thoughts. She decided to tell her sister what she was thinking about.
"Luna..."
"Yes?"
Celestia took a deep breath then she spoke.
"I think... we should tell the modern day ponies about our parents... including Twilight and her friends...

Secrets Revealed
Luna would gaze at her sister few a few moments, taking the time to process what Celestia had just said. She was thinking about how the modern ponies of Equestria would react, but she knew it would be for the best. The Moon Princess agreed with her sister's decision.
"Of course, sister," She finally said. "It is for the best after all."
Celestia did a sigh of relief, happy that her sister agreed with her. Like she said, it is for the best. The modern ponies deserved to know about their parents and that they used to rule Equestria before them. The Sun Princess wanted to tell Twilight and her friends about this first though. Not even Spike. She would have to wait for him. For now, she trusted her former faithful student and her friends.
"We will tell them in the morning," Celestia said, yawning, finishing her cup of tea. Luna went back to go check dreams and she went back to her bedroom, falling asleep.
...
The next day, Celestia woke up bright and early so she could send a scroll to Twilight. She grabbed a quill and ink with her magic and started writing.
Dear Twilight,
I'm writing this letter to you because I need you in Canterlot so I could tell you and your friends something that me and Luna kept for so long. I think we have been silent long enough and I think that it's the time to tell you and the others. Please don't bring Spike yet. I feel like this is something I should share with just you girls for now.
Your friend and former teacher,
Princess Celestia
She then sent the scroll. When Twilight got it, she read it. She wondered what Celestia had to tell them but she knew that she was about to find out. The former student of The Sun Princess let her assistant know that she was going to Canterlot and that he had to stay here. He didn't mind. He was going to do a hangout with Big Mac and Discord tonight anyways. She was then off to go inform her friends and head to Canterlot.
...
After Twilight informed her friends about the letter, they all then took the train to Canterlot. After a few minutes of riding the train, they were at their destination. The royal guards let them in and then they were inside the castle. Twilight looked around the castle for Celestia.
"Celestia?" She called out. "Where are you?"
There was no response for a few moments. The former student of The Sun Princess was about to call out her name again but she heard her call. She walked downstairs, approaching the other alicorn.
"Hello, Twilight," Celestia said with a nervous expression on her face. Her former student would look at her with a concerned look on her face.
"Princess, are you alright?" She asked. Celestia didn't know how to reply to her question. She didn't want to simply lie to her so she decided to be truthful with her. After all, she wears a mask everyday.
"No, I'm not..." She replied with guilt in her voice. The Sun Princess then spotted her sister and then thought it was time to head to the throne room.
"Come with me," said Celestia, heading up to the throne room, Luna following her also. Twilight and her friends then followed the two princesses up to the throne room. When they got to their destination, Celestia and Luna sat on their thrones and the Mane Six sat on the floor. The eldest sister cleared her throat and then she began.
"It's something about Equestria's past..."
Twilight was starting to get interested in this.
"What about it, princess?" She asked.
The Sun Princess took a deep breath.
"My parents... used to rule Equestria..."
The Mane Six gasped. They couldn't believe what they had just heard, but Twilight was most shocked out of all of them.
"Y-You're parents used to rule Equestria?!" Twilight said in a shocked voice.
Celestia nodded. "They were also a king and queen..." she added. Twilight's mouth was wide open when she just heard what she said. Applejack was confused.
"Wait a minute! Equestria had a king and queen before ya'll two ruled?" Applejack asked.
"Yes..." Celestia replied. "They ruled Equestria many years ago. They were killed by Discord's parents. That's when me and Luna took the throne. It is a painful thing to remember but I always know they are still with us."
The Mane Six gasped.
"They actually got asked to rule Equestria by Star Swirl and were actually his students. Not me and Luna," She continued.
Twilight was shocked. "W-What? Star Swirl wasn't actually your teacher but your parents?!"
Celestia nodded. "The fact that Star Swirl was me and Luna's teacher was a made up lie by us... well, mostly me..." The Sun Princess found it hard to admit the truth.
"Y-You lied?" The former student of The Sun Princess was shocked that she told a lie. The Sun Princess felt guilty.
"Yes..." She admitted again. "They were two alicorns, including my father. He was the only male alicorn some ponies had ever seen. "The only ponies that have seen my parents were the ponies that lived during the ancient times of Equestria." She explained. Celestia then remembered something. She remembered when she first met Discord and she decided to tell them how they first met.
"Also, there's something I should tell you about Discord..." She said. "Luna, stay here. I'm going to send a scroll to Discord."
Celestia would use her magic to grab a quill and ink and she started writing to Discord. When she was done writing, the letter was then sent. Discord later got it and he read it.
Our past... Discord thought. He then flew off to Canterlot.
...
After a few minutes, Discord arrived. He looked at the Mane Six and then he looked up at Celestia.
"I'm here!" he said.
"Alright," Celestia took a deep breath and then spoke. "Discord and I used to be best friends..."

The Story of Celestia and Discord
The main 6 gasped. They couldn't believe what they just heard come out of Celestia's mouth. Her and Discord friends? It almost felt like it was impossible for the main ponies.
"So... Discord wasn't always your enemy?" Twilight said shocked. "You two were friends?"
Celestia nodded, her ears flat on her head. She felt guilty about not telling them any of this sooner. Discord looked at her and he put his arm around her.
"Hey, it's alright," he said. "I know it's a painful thing to remember. I even have painful memories of what I've done in the past..." the creature would start to have flashbacks of what he had done.
"Memories?" Twilight looked confused. Discord looked up, realizing that he hadn't told about the things that he did in the past. He decided to tell the truth now.
"Yes, uh... I did really bad things in the past..." he admitted.
"Like what?" the former student of Celestia asked.
"Well..." Discord started. "Me and Celestia were friends until I betrayed her... I was brainwashed by my father's evilness... He told me to be evil and hate ponies like Celestia... So I simply did what he asked since I was trapped in war with myself..."
The main 6 listened carefully. They found this shocking, but interesting. The creature took a breath then he continued.
"I'll let Celestia tell you all about how me and her first met..."
The Sun Princess took a deep breath and then she started speaking.
"Alright... this is the story of me and Discord..."
...
Flashback
Celestia was bored and she wanted to go out and do something. She went to go ask her mom Galaxia if she could go out into the world. She barely couldn't because her parents wanted her to be safe from threats, mainly from the Chaos Bringers, a group of creatures called draconequuses. The young pony saw her mother doing some paperwork and that's when she asked her.
"Mom, can I go outside?"
Galaxia looked up from her work, thinking about what she had just said. She then sighed and decided that she could go outside. It has been a while after all.
"Alright, my little sunshine... just be careful..." Galaxia said, worried about her daughter's safety. She knew how her husband would react for letting her go outside.
"Yay! Thanks mom!" Celestia said, running off.
...
Celestia wandered around the place. It was a big world, but she loved it. She loved going outside and being active. She wanted to get out of the castle and stop being in there all the time. Just then, she heard a sound coming from the bushes.
"Who's there?" she said. "I'm not afraid of you!"
A creature approached from the bushes. He had parts of different animals. The young pony looked at him with wide eyes. The creature did the same thing.
"Um... hello..." the young pony said quietly.
"Hi..." the creature said. "I'm Discord..."
Celestia wondered if she should introduce herself. Was he trustworthy? It took her a few moments and then she decided to.
"I'm Celestia..."
"Nice name," Discord said kindly.
"Oh! Thank you!" Celestia said, appreciating his compliment. She thought the creature was nice. She decided to ask him if he wanted to be friends.
"Hey, do you want to be friends?"
The creature looked at her with wide eyes. He had never had a friend. This could be his first friend. He decided to accept her offer.
"Sure!"
The young pony smiled wide.
"Wanna play?" she asked.
"Sure!" he replied.
They played for a long while. Just then, the two of them were caught by the young pony's dad...
"CELESTIA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
Celestia and Discord turned around. Celestia gasped when she saw her father.
"DAD?" she said in a shocked voice.
Just then, Discord's father also came. He gasped when he saw her with the king's daughter.
"SON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH OUR ENEMY'S OLDEST DAUGHTER?"
Discord turned the other way. He was shocked to see his father.
"FATHER?" he also said in a shocked voice.
The creature's father looked up to look at the Equestrian king.
"Keep your daughter away from my son..." he said in a low threatening voice.
"Don't worry, I actually will, and away from you..." Cosmos said, wanting to protect his daughter. "Celestia, lets go. We must have a talk."
"But dad-"
"Now."
Celestia sighed, following her father back home. The chaos king then looked over to his son.
"Son, we need to have a talk. Lets go home."
"But father-"
"Now, son."
Discord sighed, following his father back home.
The two that were best friends were about to have a talk with their parents that were enemies...
...
Celestia and her father were in her room. Her father wasn't very pleased with her. He had told her multiple times to not be friends with any draconequus, including Discord, who was the son of the king of the Chaos Bringers.
"Celestia, what have I told you? I told you many times before to not be friends with any draconequuses, including the son of the king who wants to threaten our home!" Cosmos told her.
"Dad! He was nice!" Celestia said, trying to convince him.
"He could be faking it!" Cosmos said, wanting his daughter to understand.
"Well, I don't believe it!" the young pony said, her voice rising.
Cosmos sighed. He really wanted his daughter to understand but she wouldn't at the moment. He believed one day she would. He just needed to give her time.
"Someday, you will understand..." Cosmos said. "Now if you excuse me, I have to have a talk with your mother."
He then exited his daughter's room.
...
Discord and his father were having a chat somewhere private. His father wasn't very pleased with him. He told him multiple times to not be friends with ponies because he hated them. He wanted to torture them and he wanted to rule Equestria.
"Discord, what have I told you? I told you many times before not to be friends with ponies, including the oldest daughter of our enemy which is the king of Equestria!" his father told him.
"Father! She was nice!" Discord said, trying to convince him.
"She could hurt you!"
"I don't believe it!" the creature said, his voice rising.
The king of chaos thought for a moment. He wanted to tell a lie so he could turn against his best friend. Suddenly, he came up with an idea.
"Son, did I tell you about what Celestia and her family did?" he asked.
Discord tilted his head, confused. "No? What is it?"
"Celestia's father started this war."
The small creature gasped.
"WHAT?"
"Yup, and that's not even it," his father continued. "Celestia actually hates us. She's just being nice to you so you could fall for her tricks. She's just like her parents."
Discord started to growl.
"I'm going to give her a piece of my mind..." he said in a low, threatening tone.
The chaos king laughed.
"That's my son... you can do it tomorrow. Right now, you need your rest," he said.
"Okay, father," Discord replied, climbing into his bed. His father walked over and planted a kiss on his forehead.
"Sleep well, son," his father said, walking out of his room. After he was out of his son's room, he did an evil grin.
"Finally... my son is understanding..." he thought.
...
The next morning, Discord rushed into the kitchen where his mother was making breakfast. He wanted to tell her that he was going out and would be back before he could do so.
"Mom, I'm going out," he said to her.
His mother turned around to look at him.
"Alright, sweetie. Be back for breakfast," she told him.
"I will mom. Thanks," he replied, heading out.
...
Discord was at the place where he met Celestia. He was waiting for her. He thought she would show up. Just then, he snapped out of his thoughts when the young pony was coming.
"Hi, Discord!" she said cheerfully.
The small creature started to growl.
"You..." he said in a low, threatening tone. The young pony was confused.
"What?"
Just then, Discord scratched her on the cheek. Celestia screamed in pain. Blood was now dripping from her wound and onto the ground.
"OW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Celestia yelled.
"You know what it was for..." Discord said.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" she said, not understanding what he meant.
"Don't play dumb with me," he said. "Our friendship is over."
Discord then ran, disappearing into the distance. Tears flowed down Celestia's cheeks. She then broke down sobbing.
She was now alone.
After a few minutes of crying to herself, Celestia headed home. She didn't know why Discord did this to her. Why did he do this to her? She didn't know. When she got home, her father gasped when he saw the bleeding scratch on her cheek. He then ran up to her, wondering how this happened.
"CELESTIA! WHAT HAPPENED?" Cosmos asked.
Celestia sniffed.
Cosmos would see the dried tears on her cheeks. He wondered why she was in this state.
"My daughter, whatever is the matter?" he asked again in a comforting tone.
His daughter looked down at the ground. She knew her father would not be happy about what she was about to say. Would he be mad at her? After a long silence, she broke down crying again. Her father leaned down and hugged her.
"I-I'M SORRY, DAD!" the young pony said, sobbing loudly.
"Shh..." her father said softly, trying to calm her. "It's alright... what happened?"
Celestia quickly pulled herself together. She then took a deep breath.
"D-Discord scratched me on the cheek..." she said nervously.
Anger was now rising inside of Cosmos.
"THAT LITTLE BRAT!"
Celestia gasped in horror.
Galaxia came dashing into the room. She wondered why her husband was yelling like this.
"COSMOS! WHAT IS GOING ON?" she yelled at him.
Her husband turned to look at her.
"THAT LITTLE DRACONEQUUS SCRATCHED CELESTIA'S CHEEK!" he yelled right in his wife's face. His wife ignored the fact that he yelled right in her face.
"WHAT?" his wife exclaimed. She looked over to her daughter, seeing the scratch on her cheek. She then gasped and ran up to her.
"Oh, my little sunshine! Are you alright?" she asked her daughter in a comforting tone.
All her daughter could do was nod. She couldn't speak at the moment due to her father's huge temper.
"CELESTIA CANNOT SEE THAT BRAT EVER AGAIN! SHE WILL ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO GO OUTSIDE UNTIL SHE IS OLDER!" Cosmos announced.
Galaxia sighed and turned to look at him.
"Cosmos... may we talk in private?" she asked.
Cosmos gave a sigh before he spoke.
"Alright..." he finally said, heading towards a room, Galaxia following him.
Celestia was now alone.
...
Discord had just gotten home from getting his revenge on Celestia. He ate his breakfast that his mom cooked. After he was finished, he went to his room.
Is Celestia the pony I thought she could be? No, it can't be..." he thought.
