Anthro Waifu Special: Happy New Year Celebration

It was snowing all day in the town of Ponyville, Celestia’s sun did little to interfere with that. Even though Hearth’s Warming Eve has already come and gone, the ponies were still preparing for the inevitable celebration for both the passing and upcoming year. Pinkie Pie and Frosty had handed out invitations to Twilight’s Hearth’s Warming Eve party, reaching out to many humans who have arrived over the years. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it, something that won’t be repeated for the upcoming New Year celebration.
As displeased as she was that some of the invitees had to turn down her Hearth’s Warming Eve party, Twilight Sparkle was at least glad that they would be able to come to celebrate tonight. From within her crystal castle, she was nearly finished with getting Moonlight Sparkle all dressed up and ready. Her cute daughter looked up at her with eyes matching her own as she wore an adorable light blue dress. Twilight made a note to herself to thank Rarity for such a generous gift.
“I hope you’re ready to make some new friends, sweetie,” Twilight giggled as she kissed her daughter’s forehead.
“I sure am, mommy,” Moonlight said, bouncing up and down, excitedly.
“That’s my little girl,” Twilight said, giggling again and patting they rambunctious girl on the head.
“Mommy, do you think when aunt Moondancer and uncle Lunar come, will I be able to hold Comet? He’s so cute!” Moonlight squealed.
“Just remember to be gentle, he’s still a toddler,” Twilight reminded before hearing a knock on the door.
“Almost done in their Twi?” her husband Beau asked from the other side. “A few guests have surprisingly arrived already.” Hearing her father, Moonlight got her hopes up, assuming Moondancer’s family have already arrived. Twilight could tell what her daughter was thinking and she on the other hand, had her doubts.
Moonlight was both glad and disappointed that instead of Moondancer, it was the princesses Celestia and Luna, as well as their husbands, Princes Platinum and Nebula. Of course, there was also Celestia’s daughter, Sun Gleam and her twin brother, Bright Day, not to mention Luna’s son Dark Void. Twilight kneeled down to look at her mentors’ children and smiled at how much they’ve grown. Being a shy one, Dark Void retreated behind his mother.
“Don’t be rude now Dark Void, say hello to Twilight,” Luna urged as her son peeked from behind her.leg. Dark Void slowly stepped out of and showed himself and waved at Twilight.
“H-Hi,” he said, too shy to make eye contact. Moonlight couldn’t control herself and just ran up to Dark Void, giving him the biggest hug.
“Hi, Dark Void, it’s so nice to see you again, you look so cute!” Moonlight said happily.
“No! I’m not cute!” Dark Void said, flailing and trying to escape.
“Aww, that’s so sweet,” Celestia said before looking at her children. “Well, go on, kids. Go say hi to Moonlight and you aunt Twilight.”
“Okay, mom,” Bright Day said.
“Yes, mommy,” Sun Gleam added. The twins unlike Dark Void, didn’t hesitate to give a hug to their mother’s former student.
To be honest, Twilight was surprised that Celestia and Luna arrived before anyone else, considering neither of them lived in Ponyville.
“We’re glad you were able to make it, though I was a little surprised when you two arrived before any of the others did,” Beau said.
“You can thank my daughter, Sun Gleam. She couldn’t wait to pay a visit and see Moonlight,” Celestia said as she was led into the castle. “As for Bright Day, he wanted to say hello to both you, your daughter, as well as Spike and Emily.”
“Well you came at the right time.” Looking up, Celestia and the others were taken by surprise as Spike landed in front of them. In his arms, he held a little boy, who was clapping from the little ride his father gave him. He had a human body with a scaly dragon tail and wings. His hair was green, but he had Emily’s eyes.
“Again, papa! Again!” the boy laughed.
“Now, now. First, say hi to your friends, Flamethrower, then I’ll take you for another ride,” Spike said, patting his son on the head.
“Okay, papa,” he said flying out of his father’s arms and landing in front of Luna. Unable to restrain his affection, the toddler hugged onto the blue alicorn’s leg, making her blush. It reminded her so much of the first time she attended Ponyville’s Nightmare Night.
With each passing hour, more and more old friends began to assemble. From the rail of the second floor, Twilight and Beau looked down at her living room as the guests conversed with one another. Tables were set up and had lots of delicious foods that were cooked and brought over by Saffron and Rasoiya. Pinkie and Frosty brought along some snacks, drinks, and even some party poppers.
Most of the kids were all running around, having fun, playing tag or hide and seek. Of all those with human husbands, Shujaa and Zecora’s child was the only one who has yet to be born, but they did learn that their child was going to be a boy and decided on naming him Rafiki.
Speaking of which, Queen Novo sat on the couch alongside her husband, Bellator. Like Starlight and Chance, they ended up giving birth to triplets, 2 boys and a girl, all of them were hippogriffs. There was their 1st born son, Eagle Dive who resembled a male version of Queen Novo, Thunder Hawk, who almost looked like Queen Novo, but had his dad’s eyes, and finally, there was their youngest daughter, Swan Dance, who only had her father’s hair color, but resembled her mother.
Taking notice of this coincidence as she came downstairs, Starlight made no hesitation to introduce the rulers of Mount Aris to her own triplets, Blessid Night, her son, and her two daughters, Lucky Star and Starshine Glimmer. It was a shame that they would have to wait to play with Novo’s children, as they were still just babies.
“I tell you honey, after my first husband died, I lost all hope of becoming pregnant again,” Novo told Starlight while rocking Eagle Dive in her arms. Suddenly, Thunder Hawk began to whimper and the queen acted quickly to calm him down. “Shh, shh, there, there, Thunder. It’s alright, mama’s here,” Novo cooed, rocking her son gently. Responding to his mother’s gentle voice, Thunder soon stopped whimpering and nuzzled into his mom’s arms with a smile.
“Evidently, that’s changed,” Starlight said smiling at Bellator.
“You should have seen Skystar’s face when Novo gave birth. The joy of getting new siblings isn’t one that can be rivaled very often,” Bellator chuckled kissing Novo’s cheek. He then gazed over at his daughter, Skystar who was playing with some of the toddlers.
“Skystar even tried to babysit her new siblings whenever Bellator and I would go out, though whenever we came home, she and the babies were passed out on my bed. You should’ve seen how cute it was. She had the babies resting in her arms, snuggling with them,” Novo added. Having said that, she couldn’t help getting the idea to snuggle against Bellator.
Amongst those Twilight invited, there were ponies who a few months ago, she never imagined would fall for a human. An example being the once snobbish noble, Upper Crust who held her newborn twin daughters, Grand Fortune and Elegant Riches as she and her husband, Salvator talked to Rarity. Neither of them had opened their eyes yet, but Elegant Riches inherited both her mother’s hair and coat, while Grand Fortune only inherited the coat but had hair matching that of her father.
“Darling, your daughters are simply precious!” Rarity squealed as she stroked Grand Fortune’s tiny nose with a single finger. “What are the odds you gave birth just a few weeks before the end of the year?”
“Jet Set’s disloyalty has inspired me to teach others that it’s not always about finding the richest bachelor to make you happy. Sometimes, when bits talk, the consequences are even greater. I have Salvator to thank for changing my perspective on ponies and other creatures. Although, if I had known the locals here were this friendly, I would’ve made plans to socialize with them a whole lot sooner,” Upper Crust said.
“I’m just so glad to hear you’re doing so much better now, Upper Crust. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how bad you must’ve felt when you were all broken up inside after what your previous husband did,” Rarity said.
“What’s done is done, he’s ancient history and I have Salvator. He’s been nothing but a great big help to me and such a kind gentleman. And now our relationship has blessed us with two lovely little foals,” she said giving each daughter a kiss on the forehead.
Another attendee who raised some eyebrows with her relationship was the once aggressive griffon, Gilda whose single egg hatched 3 months ago. Learning it was a healthy baby griffon boy, she and her mate, Garuda settled with naming him Goliath. They intended to continue the tradition of giving griffons a name starting with G.
When concerning eggs, Dragon Lord Ember was also attending the party quite flustered, as her 2 year old rambunctious hatchlings were clinging to her. Like they anticipated, when they hatched they got 3 boys and a girl. Their first born was a boy named Flare. The 2nd born was a girl named Ash. Finally, their remaining sons were named Pyro and Burner. Gilda walked over to the Dragon Lord, struggling to contain her laughter at the sight of the hatchlings clinging onto their mother.
“Trouble in paradise?” Gilda asked, humoring her mate, Garuda and even Imperium chuckled a little. That was until he got an angry look from his mate.
“Don’t even start with me, these little buggers have been a real handful ever since they hatched! I swear, they’re just like their dad,” Ember said and to prove her point, Ash climbed onto her face, preventing her from saying anything else. “H-Hey! Ash, I can’t see!”
“I’d help you if this wasn’t hilarious,” Imperium shrugged and left his mate to solve the problem on her own.
Back upstairs, Twilight took a look at her list and frowned when she saw that not everyone has arrived yet. There was still a good 4 hours left until the countdown, so the purple alicorn wasn’t too worried.
“Don’t go freaking out Twi, I highly doubt they’ll stand us up twice in a row,” Beau said grabbing ahold of both of his wife’s shoulders as he stood behind her. “They did say they wouldn’t miss the New Year’s Eve party.”
“Whether or not I’d be going crazy without you around, I’ll never know,” Twilight giggled.
“Daddy’s right, mommy. Anytime you get uneasy, I get uneasy,” Moonlight added with a giggle. Twilight felt a blush come to her cheeks that her daughter overheard them.
With a little more patience, the castle got its next guests after another hour. Answering the door, Twilight smiled widely, joyed to see the former commander of the Storm King’s army, Tempest Shadow accompanied by her husband, Ventus and their daughter, Swizzle Berry. It wasn’t often that they came to Ponyville as the last time Twilight saw Swizzle, she was just a baby. Today, she’s three years old
“Long time no see, Twilight,” Tempest smiled hugging the young alicorn, before checking out how huge the crowd was in her castle. “Wow, there sure are a lot of guests here.”
“If you think that’s a lot, just wait until the others get here,” Twilight replied.
“Dang, how many more are arriving?” Ventus asked barely able to restrain himself from saying the other D-word.
“With you here, the only ones who haven’t arrived are Rara and Daring Do’s families,” Twilight explained before levitating a couple of glasses of cider over to them, compliments of Applejack. “In the meantime, how about joining in and having a little drink? You must be thirsty.”
“Thanks, Twilight,” Tempest said, trying to avoid eye contact with Queen Novo. Though the hippogriffs have long forgiven her for her part in the Storm King’s raid on Mount Aris, Tempest still found it a bit awkward to look at their queen. However, Queen Novo gave her a smile to try and make her feel more at ease.
“What happened years ago is ancient history. We’re all good friends now, so there’s no need to feel nervous around me, sugar,” Novo said and took notice of Tempest’s family. Entrusting Starlight to hold her sons, Novo kneeled down and smiled at Swizzle Berry. “Hello there honey, what’s your name?”
“Swizzle Berry. You’re really pretty,” she replied, tilting her head, smiling. Novo placed her claw over her chest from Tempest’s daughter’s cuteness. Before she could give another compliment, her daughter, Skystar raced on over squealing to see Tempest has a child.
“Oh my gosh! She is SO cute! I really wish I brought Shelly and Sheldon,” Skystar said, patting Swizzle’s head gently, making her giggle adorably. “Tempest, is it alright if I introduce her to the other kids?” she asked.
“What do you say, hun?” Ventus asked. Tempest didn’t see any reason to object to her daughter making new friends and allowed Skystar to take her away.
The wait was finally over as the last invitees arrived together. Coloratura or Rara, arrived with her husband, Tenor and their baby son, Vocal Tone. He had all of his mother’s features, except for his dad’s black hair, which had the same hairstyle as his mom.
Right behind Rara’s family was the family of one of Equestria’s greatest adventurers, Daring Do. She too was holding a baby as she stepped into the castle with her husband, Casus. However this one was a girl, who was born only 2 months ago and was named Freedom Feathers.
Applejack immediately ran over to hug her foalhood friend, while Rainbow Dash greeted her friend and idol, Daring Do. Such reactions were expected, after all they missed the chance to hang out during Hearth’s Warming Eve.
“Bout time ya made it here Rara!” Applejack said before looking down at her friend’s baby. “An’ how’s the lil’ munchkin doin’ huh?” she asked, tickling Vocal’s chin. The baby flailed and giggled from how ticklish he was getting. “Aww, you’re just so adorable, yes ya are.”
“So Daring Do, seems like you had eyes for someone after all,” Rainbow teased while elbowing her idol.
“Tease me all you like, but Casus and I have never felt happier in our entire lives. Especially now that we got little Freedom Feathers here,” Daring says, looking at her sleeping daughter. She looked exactly like her mother, but had the same skin color as her father.
Seeing now that everyone was present and with 2 hours to spare, Twilight stopped worrying and just focused on enjoying the party. Sunset Shimmer noticed her closest friend had finally come downstairs and levitated a glass of cider over to her with a smile. Twilight took it gratefully and sat beside Sunset and her husband, Ignis. They smiled as they kept an eye on their son, Searing Shimmer playing with his new friends.
As usual, Princess Skystar had all the children gathered around with her, play a fun game of Duck, Duck, Goose and she was the duck. Her lucky choice, or in this case, unlucky choice for the goose was Bolt Jr. She tried her best to run away, or fly away, but Bolt Jr’s speed was too much and he caught her.
“WOO, GOTCHA!!!” Junior shouted.
“Aww rats!” Skystar said, giggling. The princess sat herself in the middle of the circle and watched Junior pick his goose. Meanwhile, Fluttershy’s three year old daughter, Comfy Breeze had passed out from how late it was. To make things more unsettling, she started having a bad dream, but was soon taken care of, thanks to dad’s lullaby.
“Round and round, and up and down. No boundaries, no fear.
My heart was born to dream to see the world from way up here,” Genus sang softly, rocking his little girl gently. “My heart was born to dream to see the world from way up here.” he sang one more time before letting Comfy rest on the couch. He also wrapped her up in his jacket to keep her nice and warm.
“Thank you, daddy,” Comfy said quietly with her eyes closed.
“You’re welcome, sweetheart,” Genus whispered.
Aside from the babies, whoever was falling asleep was woken up as the time to count was growing closer. Looking at the clock, Twilight saw that there was only 20 seconds left before the New Year’s Day would come.
“Alright everybody, listen up! There’s only a few seconds left! Get ready! It’s time to end finish of this year with a bang!” Twilight announces.
The guests all got their party poppers and started the countdown.
“Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! ONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” Everyone shouted, pulling the trigger on their poppers, cheering with glee and excitement. And so, another year has come and gone and a new one begins. Who knows what kind of surprises are in store for the good folks of Equestria. But if they knew their instincts correctly, more humans will pop up into their world and they’ll be ready to welcome them with open arms.
