It all happened so fast. 'I was there trying to capture someponies and then *poof* a huge explosion sent my fly away from my targets. I don't know what happen but I need to return to my hive before it's too late.' a changeling thought. She tried to get on her hooves but she was too hurt to do it. She had hit a large tree, that made her stop. When she hit the soft ground she noticed that her back legs were bleeding and had large cuts due to the impact. She needed to proceed, so she did what she had to do, she used her magic and transformed into a mare earth pony and started to move through the woods.
In an outpost not far from there, a large group guards, under the service of Princess Celestia, were warned by her that changelings had attacked Canterlot and they were banished by Candance and Shining Armor Magical Love. She had told them to do what they do best.
The outpost commander ordered his captain to gather all the soldiers of that outpost he needed to tell them the recent orders. The captain sounded the bell and every guard was in the 'Central Plaza'.
The outpost commander announced. "I've received orders from Princess Celestia." he grabbed the scroll and started to read it. "To all outposts near the borders. I've new orders for you. Recently, changelings had attacked Canterlot but they were stopped by Cadance and Shining Armor. We don't know what happens to them so I presume that they were fired away and are trying to return to their home. HEAR MY ORDERS. IF ANY OF YOU FOUND A CHANGELING, EVEN IF HE OR SHE IS HURT YOU HAVE THE ORDER AND REPEAT THE ORDER OF KILLING THEM WITHOUT MERCY. ANY OF YOU THAT OPPOSE THIS ORDER WILL BE CONSIDER A TRAITOR AND WILL BE PUNISH BY EXECUTION." he finished the scroll rolling it back and put it again on his saddlebag.
Then he ordered that they returned to their previous orders.
Solar Halberd returned to his previous night shifts carrying his large shiny halberd with him. He got his cutie mark when he found this magnificent treasure. He was thinking about all of this was really necessary to kill innocent ponies that were just serving their Lord. His honor to Celestia and the royalty was impressive but his mind was always against some orders that he take.
He stepped on the forest when all of the sudden a cry for help was heard by him. He looked around trying to find the source of the cries. He trotted towards it and when he reached that source he noticed, a mare was being pursued by a large Manticore. He rushed towards it, getting his halberd ready he stabbed the Manticore on the belly and ready himself to defend himself from the sudden tail swing. He crouched and stabbed him on the legs that made the Manticore run away. He laughed and looked behind him and saw that the mare had blood on her back legs.
"Did he hurt you?" he asked.
"I don't know." she asked while trying to deny her pain. 'Don't lose focus. Keep focus or...'
She cried in pain and laid on the ground. He dropped his weapon and trotted towards her.
"Can I..." his words were stopped when he noticed a strange aura surrounding her and in a matter of seconds, he had seen for the first time a changeling true form. She heard him gasp that's when she noticed that she lost her illusion.
'Oh no.' she thought. "Please don't..." she begged when he saw that he was igniting his horn.
She felt his magical aura surrounding her. "You're hurt. I'm not gone to hurt you." he said while trying to focus his magic. "Look at you." he said. "You are hurt."
He saw large cuts and small trails of blood on her back legs. "I was reppeled by some kind of magic and hit a tree. That's when I noticed that I was hurt on my back legs." she explained. "Please. Help me. I'm feeling..." her words were stopped by his magic when she noticed soldiers passing nearby them.
"Solar Halberd. Where are you?" one of his comrades asked.
No answer. "Maybe he had found that source of the scream. Let's go back he will surely is back to our barracks." the other one said.
Then he noticed they were trotting away. He let his magic down and looked at her. "So, you're a changeling, aren't you?" he asked.
She nodded. "Could you stop looking at me as if I was the scariest thing you ever saw?" she asked.
"Why? Am I scaring you is it?" he asked. "So, by the way. I'm Solar Halberd as you heard, but I didn't catch your name."
She gulped and said. "I'm...Tangle...Tangled Web." she said.~
He heard her cry in pain again. "Did you have a place to stay? It seems that you're really hurt."
She looked at him and said. "But, I'm a changeling I..."
"I know what you're but I'm not that kind of pony who kill everything that comes to him even if I had..." he stopped his track of words when he noticed that he might revealed their true intentions. "Do you have a place to stay?" he asked.
"No. I've to return to my hive. It's not too far from her, but with my legs like this I can't walk for too long." she answered.
He looked at her and used his magic to put his halberd on his back. "Here, let me offer a place to stay. I have a small house in this little outpost. You can be here until your legs recover." he proposed. "What do you say?"
"I don't know." she answered. "And besides I'm a changeling. I can't be around here without any kind of protection."
"Well, you can metamorph to one random pony. Can you?" he asked.
"Yes I can but I'm too weak to focus my magic. I've to remain like this until I have got the necessary strength to turn myself into a pony." she answered.
"Can you walk?" he asked.
She tried to get on her hooves but it was impossible she cried in pain again and answered. "I can't."
Then she felt his magical aura surrounding her and carrying her onto his back. "I hope you don't mind that I will carry you this way." he said.
She shook her head to the sides. "No, I don't mind."
He walked towards his house while discussing some topics with her.
In Solar Halberd house a group of ponies gathered around him and gasped.
"CHANGELING." one of them yelled.
He used his magic to create a sound barrier and said. "She's hurt. She won't be here for too long. Please keep it quiet."
He looked to his back and saw that she had fallen asleep. "Put her on the guest room." he said while carrying her off his back.
One of them used her magic and carried her to the guest room.
"You girls are up until this time of night?" he asked
"We were waiting for your return. We had received info that you're missing so you just got hurried." one of them answered.
He smiled and passed by them. He trotted toward the guest room, carrying some medical stuff with him. "I will heal her up. I don't want a word to get out of this house." he looked at them. "Did I make myself clear?" he asked.
Hearing a collective nod he entered the guest room and closed the door behind him.
The mares outside of the guest room started to talk to each other. "His generosity to this kind of situations will turn him upside down one day."
In the guest room, Tangled Web yawned and stroked her eyes. When she looked around her she noticed something was strange that wasn't her hive but it seems so... so comfortable. Then she heard a familiar voice.
"At least, you're awake." he said. "I thought for a moment that you won't wake up."
She looked around her body and saw that she was covered by some kind of bandages. Then she looked back at him and asked. "Why are you tending me?" she asked.
"Isn't that obvious. That blood loss could be a real danger to you." he answered. "Even, of what you've had done to my Princess. I can't let you suffer for such consequences."
She gasped. "How did you know?" she asked.
"Well she sends us a letter explained all the situation." he answered.
She cried in pain when she felt another bandage covering one of her wounds. "It looks like it's done." he said.
He started to trot out of the room when she heard her words. "Thank you."
He looked back and nodded. "You don't have to thank me. I'm just doing my job." Then he closed the door.
Once outside of the guest room he noticed that the mares weren't in the living room. 'Maybe they left earlier.'
He trotted towards his room and when he got near his bed he thought. 'Is this a good idea to keep a changeling here?'
"She's hurt. I can't let her go like that, she won't be able to defend herself in her current state." he said. "I'll just let her stay until she will be able to return to her hive.".
He laid on his bed and let his dreamland embrace him.
On the next day, he heard some metal being moved in his kitchen. 'They're back. At least.'
He got off his bed and trotted to his kitchen and noticed that his 'friends' weren't there.
"Tangled Web. What are you doing?" he asked.
When she heard his voice she turned herself around and answered. "Well, since you've offered me a place to stay I thought that was a good idea to make you a little breakfast."
He looked at her and said. "But you haven't to, because I was just offering you a place to stay until you recover."
"But it will be against my personality to refuse to do something to pay your kindness." she said.
"As long you don't feel that you're being obligated to do it. It's ok." he said.
He trotted towards the table and sat on a chair waiting for his breakfast. When she brought it to him he tasted it and...
"WOW. What did you use, it's amazing?" he asked.
"Hmm. You had a little canola here and some soybeans, I just used them and made this little sandwich." she said
She sat beside him and took a taste on the sandwich.
"Can you try it now?" he asked.
"What?" she asked.
"Change to a normal pony." he answered.
She started to ignite her horn and changed herself to a pegasus pony. "So what do you think?" she asked while looking herself on the kitchen mirror.
"It's perfect." he answered.
She giggled and blushed a little.
After the breakfast, Solar Halberd waved a goodbye to her and got out of his house.
He trotted towards the library and searched for a specified book. "What did it call?" he asked to himself.
After some time looking for it. Finally, he found it. ''Here it's. 'What is a changeling?'" he read the title of the book.
He trotted towards the desk where he could order the book. He put it on his saddlebag and trotted towards the café.
He found an empty seat and decided to sit on it. When he sat on the chair he ordered a barley coffee and a bagel bread.
He started to read the book. During his reading, he found a topic that really put his interest on it.
The changelings are creatures that feed on love, they took the love out of you and gain power on it. The changelings are known to have the power to metamorph themselves. There's a little thing that changelings would love. A heart-shaped object. They consider it as an offer to live with the creature that offered it to them.
He closed the book and saw that her marefriend was nearby. he waved an hello to her and called her to take a sit.
They spent the day talking about everything they can. After some time he proposed that she would accompany him to his house because he wanted her to meet a new friend.
In Solar Halberd house, he called for Tangled Web. After some moments she appeared.
"Yes. Did you called?" she asked.
He nodded. "I needed you to meet her." he pointed towards another mare. "She is an archer. Flame Bow it's her name."
She greeted Flame Bow. When she noticed that they were kissing. 'Oh god.' she thought.
When they finished their kissing he looked at Tangled Web and saw a small blush on her cheeks. He smiled and whispered to her. "Getting jealous?" he asked.
She shook her head to the sides, she used this as an opportunity to get back to her chores.
"Is that your maid?" Flame Bow asked.
He looked at her and immediately answered. "No of course not. I've saved her last night. And now she is just repaying me."
Flame Bow smiled and laughed. "I was just messing with you." she said. "Are you free this night? I have a place that I want to show you." she said.
"I don't know. But I'll warn you if I had time." he answered.
She kissed him again and got out of his house.
What he didn't know was Tangled Web was seeing them and thought. 'I can't believe it. Why did I blush like that? Hmm. A maid hein. That will be perfect.'
She noticed that he was trotting towards his bedroom. She decided to return to her bedroom.
In that night, Solar Halberd was meeting Flame Bow. She had shown him a place where they could saw everyplace around his outpost was really amazing, impressive and beautiful.
He had returned to his house and noticed that Tangled Web was probably sleeping. She heard him slowly trot to his bedroom. 'A maid. Hmm. I need to make my plan.'
After some days, Tangled Web decided to put her plan into action. She had made a maid outfit and waited for his return.
When she heard the main door opened, she got ready and waited for him to enter the kitchen. When she noticed that he was in the kitchen she said.
"Home already?" she asked with a soft tone.
When he looked at her, he saw that she was acting strange and was hearing a maid dress. "Hmm. Tangled Web are you...Ok?" he asked while trying to hide his blush.
"Of course. I'm alright." she answered while shaking her rump and swing her tail back and forth. "I'm just feeling a little bored right now."
She trotted toward him. "I've cleaned all the house, master." she said while she made small circles around his chest.
"WTF!!!" he said while trying to deny her affection. "Let me go. What's wrong with you?" he asked.

He looked at her half-lifted eyes and felt her hoof to push him down. "Tangled Web. What are you...?" he asked.

He used his magic to pull out his halberd and knocked his comrades back. "Stay away from me."
Tangled Web heard some harsh movements on the main hall and rushed to see what happened. "Solar Halberd. What's going on?"
"There she is. Get her." Flame Bow ordered.
"NOOO!!!" he yelled. He tried to rush to her side but was pinned down by Flame Bow. "Going somewhere?" she asked.
"Use the speel. Make her lose her illusion." she ordered
One of the guards ignited his horn and shot a beam towards her and she lost her illusion.
Flame Bow laughed and ordered her comrades to trap her. Then she turned her gaze towards him and said. "I'll forgive you for your betrayal. But now you'll see your little thingy die in front of your eyes." she said. Then she started to ignite her horn and got ready to shot a beam when she felt a sharp thing piercing through her leather armor. "NNO. Impossible. How could you?" she asked while losing the balance of her body and fell beside him.
Then he got back on his hooves and looked at his comrades with fire on his eyes. "GET AWAY FROM HER." he ordered. "OR YOU WILL JOIN HER." he pointed towards the falling body of Flame Bow.
They looked at each other and decided to charge forward. "Very nice. Let's start this then." He swings his halberd with amazing skill, not even the longswords and the arrows were able to hit him. He disarms every melee soldier and rushed towards the archers that made them run away in panic. He looked back and nodded to his comrades and they took that opportunity to run away.
Then he trotted slowly towards Flame Bow body and knelled himself. "Look at you. I didn't want to hurt you, Flame Bow but you gave me no choice." he said.
Flame Bow whimpered and shook her body. "Help me." she begged.
He shook his head to the sides. "Nope." he said. "You came to my house threatened me and her and now you want my mercy." he said.
She looked at him while she shakes in fear of what he would do next. "Please don't hurt me." she begged.
"Tangled Web. What should I do?" he asked.
She looked at her and answered. "I don't know. What about you?"
"I got an idea." he said. He leaned towards her ear and whispered. "I'll heal you and let you go away, but... I need you to promise one thing." he said.
She nodded.
"You will have to say that you were misunderstood. You're drunk and that I was trying to pursue a changeling and ended up disappeared in the process. Deal?" he proposed.
She nodded. Then he ignited his horn and started to heal her wound. After some time, Flame Bow wound was healed and she trotted out of his house. Then he looked at her and offered himself to accompany her to her hive.
"I think that you don't have to." she said. "And besides since I have this." she showed him the heart-shaped object. "and this." she rubbed her belly. "I think we could live out of everypony judgment. Don't you think?" she asked.
He nodded. "But... where?" he asked.
"There's a small village near my hive that everypony that felt in love with a changeling is living." she answered. "We could live there. They won't judge us. We are all equal in that village."
"Is far from here?" he asked.
"A little." she answered.
"Then what are we waiting for?" he asked. "Let's go."
He packed his stuff and waited for her on his door. She had her illusion spell again so they won't bother them when they will leave the borders. Once they got out that outpost, they trotted towards that village. Happy and content by what the future might brings to them.
