Prologue

Deep in the depths of space, millions of pods scattered entering any world in its presence. Seeking and searching for any life worth keeping. So far, only a few planets have been chosen to observe. Throughout time, these planets had very little interest except for one world filled with magic. It intrigues the collector. Wanting to know more about this world filled with magic, he sends a scouter to observe the planet. Seeing if it'll be a nice addition to his collection. He smiled and waited for the right time to make himself known.

The scouter landed in the South Luna Ocean. The creature emerges from its pod and scout the landscape. For years while being undetected, the creature witnesses various creatures that the planet inhabitants. Witnessing the magic up close amazes the creature. One thing, in particular, is spreading love, joy, and magic wherever it needs to be. In most worlds, the scouter has seen species controlling with greed and dominance. This world does not have that dominant control. The scouter decided to find a host worth taking over to transmit the history of the planet to the collector. Unfortunately, finding a host will become difficult in the San Palomino Desert. Still, it gives the scouter time to witness upcoming events that'll soon follow.

After the events of Cozy Glow going rogue, an expedition pony named Sandy Swift made her way to Canterlot with an important discovery to show Princess Celestia. As she made her way to Celestia's throne, she asked if the two of them can talk privately. Princess Celestia agreed and commanded the Royal Guards to escort everypony from the throne leaving the two alone.

"Hello, Princess Celestia. My name is Sandy Swift. I am a researcher on ancient artifacts and have something to show you."

"So, what is it you have to show me?"

"This," Sandy said as she revealed her discovery to Princess Celestia.

Princess Celestia observed thoroughly. She has never seen anything unlike it before. Possibilities boggled in her mind. After a while, she couldn't figure out what it is.

"I'm sorry, Sandy. I have no idea what this can be. Only two things come to mind. An egg or a pod. Question is, who or what did it come from?"

"Can it be Discord's doing?" Sandy asked.

"Discord is unpredictable but, I don't believe he'll leave something like this behind no matter what he's thinking of."

"If it's not Discord then who you think will come up with this?" Sandy asked.

"Possibly a dark cult or...Queen Chrysalis." Princess Celestia said.

"So, what are you going to do with it?"

"I'm going to ship this to Twilight Sparkle. I do believe she'll have answers to what you discovered. Where did you find this at?"

"I found this thing at the San Palomino Desert, Princess Celestia."

"Alright, in the meantime, I'll send a research team to go with you back into the desert. There has to be more than one of these eggs or pods that you've found."

"Alright, Princess. Thank you, for your time. "

"You're welcome, Sandy. Good luck with your expedition."

The two hugged each other. Sandy then leaves the Castle as Celestia begins to write a letter to Twilight. She orders her Royal Guards to send the egg/pod to Twilight immediately. The two Royal Guards came and took flight straight to the Friendship Castle carrying to egg/pod with them. She sends the letter to Twilight.

"Hope you'll be able to find the answers Twilight." Celestia said to herself.

A few moments later, Spike burped a letter and read it carefully. He then runs to Twilight's library where she and Starlight are having their conversation about magic.

"Twilight, Princess Celestia wrote you a letter." Spike said while trying to catch his breath.

"Let me see." Twilight said as Spike handed her the letter and starts to read.

Dear Twilight,

Earlier today, an expedition pony named Sandy Swift have revealed something to me. I am sending it to you. I do believe that you are more qualified to figure out the origins of this egg/pod. I know you have what it takes to get the job done. I would do it but I have other priorities to maintain for the time being. Best of luck,

Princess Celestia

"So, how long you think it'll take for the egg/pod to arrive Twilight?" Starlight asked.

"About..."

A loud bang can be heard from the front doors as Twilight was interrupted.

"Now." Twilight said finishing her answer.

Spike, Starlight, and Twilight made their way to the front doors and allowed the two Royal Guards to come in. Twilight told them to place the egg/pod in her library for research. They do so then fly back to Canterlot.

"Alright, let's see if we can figure out what this thing is." Twilight said as she gathered his things to decode anything she sees.

Two hours have passed. Everyone in the library is on a slump. They couldn't figure out what they are seeing. They couldn't figure out what it was meant for. Starlight called for Discord which he appeared immediately.

"You rang?" Discord asked.

"Now, I'm gonna ask this once. Did you have anything to do with this?" Starlight said as she pointed the egg/pod.

"No, my dear. As much as I love the creation of chaos and magic, that is not what I do. Whatever this thing supposed to be." Discord said while eyeballing at it. "You know, I have never seen this in all of my years in life. Kinda strange if you ask me."

"Thanks, Discord for you're honesty." Starlight said.

"My pleasure. After all, we are best friends." Discord said.

Discord vanishes as Starlight turned to Twilight.

"Since this isn't Discord's doing then who or what can it be?" Spiked asked rhetorically.

After a while, a thought came to everyone's head.

Chrysalis!

"She has to be the one who's behind all of this!" Starlight shouted.

"Now, let's go find her!" Twilight said. "Spike, you stay here. Write a letter to Celestia and get our friends. We're going on a hunt."

"Right away Twilight," Spike said as he ran down the corridors to find his quill and paper.

An hour later and everypony arrived. Spike told Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy about Queen Chrysalis possible new creature and that everypony is now on the hunt for her. Princess Celestia now knows about this theory and has requested for Equestrian Forces to tag along with them. As they left the castle and go on a changeling hunt, something was oozing from the pod and took possession of a book nearby. Now waiting for its host.
