Chapter One: Whispers
“STOP!” shouted Fluttershy her eyes snapping open as they glowed a barrier appearing in front of her. “Sans this is not you.”
“you sure about that sweet cheeks?” the darker Sans asked lifting his hand again, Fluttershy frowned. “you know nothing about me.”
Familiar options appeared in front of Fluttershy and she pressed the ‘Check’ option.
Fallen ‘Fell’ Sans
? Atk 1 Def
Run
“No.” Fluttershy said as the next attack launched towards her as her SOUL appeared. Her hoof shot out wrapping around it as she spoke softly. “I will not fight you like this.”
“you don’t really have a choice.” the sharp teeth widen into a smirk as the Fallen Sans launched more attacks. Fluttershy kept her barrier up tears welling up in her eyes.
“I don’t want to fight my friends.” Fluttershy whispered her feathers starting to pulling away from her wings. “I would give up everything to save you.”
Old wounds opened as Fluttershy felt familiar appendages, she fell to her knees holding her SOUL close. Her eyes opened as the tears dropped in front of her as she realized that she was no longer in front of the Fallen Sans. Her teal eyes looked around seeing a garden in front of her, the air was warm. Humming filled the air as a blue Earth Pony bustled past.
“Come on now honey, time to wake up.” she spoke ignoring the pegasi there. Among all the flowers were each of the Monsters, familiar ponies, Princess Luna, and humans. They seemed to be resting peacefully. the pony turned her head revealing a yellow bird like mask with blue stripes look towards her.
“Wake up.”
Feathers brush pass Fluttershy causing her to look up seeing the hallway. The dark Sans still standing in front of her the bones having been blocked by thick vines. Fluttershy grabbed onto her heavily damaged SOUL. She closed her eyes a green aura shining around her as she felt deep pain within the Sans in front of her. Yet she knew he wasn’t ready to be saved.
“I’m sorry.” she whispered before tapping her hoof against the ground the vines shooting forward to block the hall as she ran away.
Fell cursed as the vines blocked his view from the pony. He was going to get in trouble if he lost sight of her. He backed away teleporting to the other side of the vines. She had already gone, though her path was marked by blood and feathers. He grinned before following the path given to him taking quick note that the castle was changing. The walls were shifting leading to different halls. ‘well something doesn’t want us getting out.’ he thought as he continued to follow the feathers.
Fluttershy slowed her pace down feeling weakened, looking back she saw her wings gone. ‘I have to save them. Deep inside they are hurting.’ she thought as she moved forward to the last location she saw Toriel. She staggered moving to lean against a nearby wall panting, she took a deep breath as she pushed off of it. Walking to the closest door she pushed it open and walked a bright light shining around her as she vanished.
Fluttershy walked through a meadow at night, a cool breeze drifting through the air. Her teal eyes taking in everything. A shooting star flashed above her as she took in everything before hearing a quiet sobbing. Moving towards the noise she saw a familiar figure. It was the Night Elf form that Luna took.
“Princess Luna?” Fluttershy spoke quietly causing the Night Elf to raise her head. She looked shocked and began to ask. “How do you know who I am?”
“It’s me, Fluttershy.” Fluttershy told her quietly and Luna tilted her head to the side. “You don’t remember me?”
Luna tilted her head to the side before shaking it. Fluttershy sat next to her before saying. “I know the truth about Degmur and you dreamwalking to Azeroth. I know about Illidan.”
Luna’s eyes widened as she spoke quietly. “How do you know?”
“I met him.” Fluttershy replied and Luna looked away hurt. “Why didn’t you tell your sister?”
“Our worlds were never supposed to meet.” Luna uttered looking up at the sky. “Azeroth and our own, if it wasn’t for that Imp trying to corrupt my sister… I would have never discovered the world they were trying to destroy. But I pushed my family away for an adventure.”
Fluttershy tilted her head to the side before looking up seeing that the moon was instead a deep purple heart with a large crack through the center. A wound that Luna kept within herself. Something she did not want to tell even them, even after all they did with the Tantabus she did not want anyone to find out.
“I wanted to be like her, not afraid to bend the rules.” Luna said looking up at the sky with white eyes. “Yet because of what I did….”
Shadows wrapped around Luna and Fluttershy tried to place a hoof on her shoulder only to be thrown back.
“I began to see things the way Illidan did, I grew jealous of Celestia. She was always favored. I wanted what she had, the attention, the adoration, I craved it. I CRAVE IT!”
“Princess Luna!” Fluttershy called as the shadows sank into the ground. She looked around before taking off to find the princess.
Rainbow’s eyes opened up as golden strands returned to her, Twilight walking to her side asking. “Anything?”
“Fluttershy is in the castle, but I can’t get anything. It’s like something is wrong in the castle itself.” Rainbow replied looking over at Rarity. “Anything?”
“I can’t get connected to her, it’s like static.” Rarity spoke her eyes opening as well. “Fluttershy is alone on this one.”
“We need to find Discord.” Twilight told them her eyes looking around a pony vanishing around the corner. Her violet eyes focused on the castle narrowing. ‘What is your game Dawning Gloom?’
“Princess Luna!” Fluttershy called looking as she searched for her as the scenery began to change. “Please, I want to talk!”
“Why?” Luna’s voice whispered all around her. “Why do you want to talk to someone like me?”
“You’re my friend.” answered Fluttershy looking around. “Do you think I will not like you because of this?”
“Because of what I did, I longed for Azeroth so much so that I began to compare our lives.” Luna spoke a form of her appearing out of the shadows. “I longed for a sibling like Malfurion, I couldn’t even see how wonderful my own sister is.”
“That happens, that is what being family is about.” Fluttershy started moving towards her only to get blasted out by the shadows.
Fluttershy let out a groan as she landed outside the door. Panting she swallowed harshly looking next to it. Glowing hash marks were on the wall, swiping her hoof another one appeared. ‘Almost three months have passed and still haven’t made any progress with her.’ Fluttershy thought tilting her head forward and closing her eyes. ‘What can I do?’
“Time to wake up honey.”
An image of a mask flashed in her eyes and her head snapped open. She took off towards her hiding place. It was the kitchen, someplace Fluttershy was glad to have found during her first week there. What did catch her interest was that she wasn’t hungry for the most part despite having been there for over three months. One meal had satisfied her. ‘That isn’t my focus.’ she thought moving over to the table. Placing her hoof on the surface she closed her eyes and focused her mind on creating an image. The surface of the table warped presenting a mask of Celestia in front of her.
“I just hope this works.” Fluttershy mumbled taking the mask watching as a vine grew from it to help the mask secure into place. “I hope you don’t mind Princess Celestia, this is to help your sister.”
Placing the mask on her head Fluttershy ran back to the room, not before grabbing her saddlebag. She looked at the window waiting for the sun to set. ‘Isn’t it odd how a trip to the kitchen takes a day?’ a voice in the back of her mind whispered. Fluttershy shook her head again before placing her hoof against the door knob and pulled open the door entering the room.
Fluttershy moved through the meadow looking around calling out. “Princess Luna?”
“Why have you returned?” Luna’s voice questioned sounding dull and almost lifeless. Fluttershy moved towards the sound finding Luna looking tired staring at the sky.
“You do not belong here.” Luna continued, Fluttershy frowned before responding. “I want to help you Princess Luna.”
“Nobody can help me.” Fluttershy bit tears back at the response, taking a deep breath she spoke. “She can.”
Taking the mask Fluttershy pulled it over her face. At first nothing happened until a presence entered Fluttershy’s mind and her body changed.
“Luna.” Celestia’s voice called out causing Luna to turn around. “I forgive you Luna. I forgave you long ago.”
“Celie.” Luna sobbed before rushing forward. “I’m so sorry. For everything I’ve done, even the things I can’t tell you about!”
“Please listen to me Luna, I am sorry too. I am sorry for banishing you to the moon for all those years.” Celestia replied wrapping her wings around her sister. “For not paying attention like a sister should.”
“You were the best sister I could ask for.” Luna felt a warmth shoot through her body. “I was jealous of all the attention that you received and all the attention you gave. I thought I wasn’t needed and when I found a place all for my own I thought I didn’t need you anymore! I thought I could take your place and nothing would change. I wanted my own light to shine without you!”
Celestia smiled as she whispered into Luna’s ear. “I will always love you Luna and that will never change.”
Luna smiled before laughing as she hugged her sister. The purple heart’s crack healing into a thin scar. The mask shattered as the area around them faded.
“Princess Luna?” Fluttershy called out and Luna’s eyes snapped open as she sat up. “You’re awake!”
“Fluttershy?” asked Luna looking at the pegasus pony with confusion. “What is going on? Where are your wings?”
“I… I’m not sure.” Fluttershy answered looking at the deep scars. “I’m just glad you are awake perhaps you can… Princess Luna? Why are you fading?”
Luna looked down at her own hooves watching as they began to vanish. She looked at Fluttershy as the area darkened around her. Looking around she called out for Fluttershy until she heard a voice ask. “Luna?”
The light came back and she found herself in her old room in the Castle of the Two Sisters. Turning around she saw Celestia standing there, that was when she knew that Fluttershy was in trouble.
Fluttershy swallowed when Luna vanished, looking towards the door she headed out only to find that the area had changed. She blinked before turning around only to find the room gone as well. She felt irritation rise within her glad that she had her pack on her with food inside. She felt the are shift and knew she was by the training room that had been built for the Spartans. Moving towards it she pushed open the door poking her head inside. Standing there was a tall creature with horns like a bull.
“Hello?” she called out causing him to turn with wild eyes. “Who are you?”
The male let out a roar charging towards her and Fluttershy jerked her head out slamming the door shut. There was a loud thud on the other side as the door strained under the weight. Taking a deep breath she heard the roaring fade. She blinked opening her eyes before letting out the breath. The area shifted as the mysterious mare’s voice.
“Ah come on sweetheart, you look like you’re having a nightmare.”
Fluttershy looked at the door behind her breathing deeply. She looked back at the door before opening it. The strange creature looked at her before a light erupted from him engulfing the entire room and Fluttershy vanished.

Chapter Two: Day One
Cries of tropical birds caught Fluttershy’s ears as a tropical yet rocky view came into sight. Her eyes glanced around when she began to move forward. Her neck craned as she took in the sight wondering where she was. Her ears twitched as she looked into the trees trying to distinguish something that wasn’t a tree. She listened to the surrounding area before continuing on her hooves upon the path. Eyes watched her as she continued through the forest wondering who the strange male was from before.
Applejack rushed towards the castle as fast as she could. Apple Bloom had told her that there was an issue in the castle.
“Twilight!” Applejack yelled the moment she saw her friend standing at the doors of her castle. Twilight turned around looking extremely tired.
“I heard what happened, where can I help?” inquired the farmpony running up to her, Twilight sighed before saying. “There is a powerful barrier in place preventing us from getting in. We don’t know if Fluttershy is alright, or if anyone who was left in the castle is harmed.”
“I think Chief and I could take a swing at the barrier.” Applejack said before reaching back for her sword only to find it gone. “Shoot I must have left him in the castle.”
“Chief?” asked Twilight and Applejack blushed saying. “My sword.”
“Oh.” Twilight was slightly surprised about that, she had nearly forgotten that they could communicate with their weapons. That was when an idea popped into her mind. “Discord!”
“What in Equestria are you doing?” the confusion on Applejack’s face was evident as Twilight looked at her saying. “Discord, he was working on Fluttershy’s sword and shield. In the Everfree Forest.”
Applejack was about to ask what the plan was when Twilight took off. Looking towards the castle Applejack tried to connect to her friend. She felt herself get bounced off of something yet when she opened her eyes she was somewhere different.
“Chief? Fluttershy?” she asked in confusion seeing a familiar figure, though instead of the large male. She saw his true form, horns and all.
“Chief!” a voice cried out as someone rushed forward, it was a human. The Iron Bull shook his head as if trying to rid himself of something that he was seeing. Applejack ran forward with the group moving around him as he sank to the ground.
“You’re alright.” they whispered to him and Applejack smiled as she saw him looking at them anger vanishing from his eyes. He grinned before laughing wrapping his arms around all of them holding them close.
“Thank you.” he said looking at Applejack in the eyes. “Both of you.”
“Chief?” Applejack asked hearing a crack before she was thrown backwards.
“Applejack, are you alright?” Rainbow’s voice asked and Applejack shook her head clearing her vision. Rainbow Dash was standing in front of her worried expression on her face. Taking a moment Applejack gathered her thoughts before saying. “I think Fluttershy has bigger problems than just the castle.”
Fluttershy walked out of the room smiling happily she was glad she was able to help. Though she wasn’t quite sure who the man was in relation to Applejack. She heard a sound causing her ears to twitch. It was leading her to another room, another person to help. She opened the door and entered the light mind now focused on her purpose.
Rainbow Dash paced her eyes glancing at the clock. Applejack had said Fluttershy was in a lot more trouble than they originally thought. ‘What did that even mean?’ she questioned internally her eyes glancing back and forth at the castle walls. Her eyes paused at the broken window she shifted slightly. ‘They wouldn’t miss a spot like that.’ she told herself, her ears perking up as Twilight appeared next to Discord. The Draconequus looking very irritated.
“I hear Fluttershy is trapped within the castle.” Discord growled looking around. “What made you think it was a good idea to just leave her in there alone?”
“That’s the problem, she isn’t alone in there.” Applejack replied earning a raised eyebrow from Discord. “There are other people in the castle. From what Chief told me it’s like they're split. Between a dark version and their troubles. The troubles are contained and the darker half wanders until one or the other is helped.”
“Who… when did you hear about this?” Twilight asked and Applejack set down her blade saying. “They have a soul residing in them. One that chose us, this is their physical form. Now whatever thing caused them to become cruel had help.”
“Dawning Gloom was a definite part.” spoke Twilight and Rainbow nodded her head saying. “After the first attack I think Fluttershy’s darker half must have it out for her.”
“Yes, yes that is all very interesting.” Discord brushed off most of the detail. “I’ll deal with her when I see her again. I’ll just pop into the castle and…”
“Uh Discord, we don’t know what type of barrier is being used. I was hoping you could help out with that part.” Twilight suggested and Discord gave her a blank look. “Dawning Gloom has Sombra’s knowledge about ancient spells and magic. I don’t want you going in their by yourself and getting stuck.”
“I’ll…” Discord stopped seeing the pleading look in Twilight’s eyes. “You don’t want me to get hurt… do you?”
“I told you before, you’re my friend.” Twilight answered a smile on her face and Discord blinked in surprise. “We need a plan.”
Discord looked between her and the castle before frowning. He approached the walls filling the twisting of different kinds of magic trapped within the walls. It was using the magic used to create the castle, twisting everything inside. It was building up, like a explosive ready to go at any moment.
“We have to get in there.” Discord told Twilight earning a look of surprise. “Whatever your shadow did is trapping a lot of magic in there.”
“How long do we have?” Twilight’s face paled as Discord looked at her his face serious. “Including today, a week.”
Fluttershy walked through the halls wincing a bit. The last room took a little longer than expected. She pulled out an apple eating it as she walked towards the kitchens. She tried not to think of her friends. ‘Are they in the castle or….’ she shook her head trying to banish the wandering thought. Her eyes glanced at the windows watching them darken with the setting sun. Her ears twitched hearing yelling and her head turned towards the sound. It was coming from a dead end.
“Hello?” she called out looking around before backing up and heading back towards the kitchen. Only to find the path had changed one more time. Taking a deep breath Fluttershy began to find her way back to the kitchen. She paused when she saw something blocking her way. A black ghost laying on the ground staring up at the ceiling.
“Napstablook?” she called out and the ghost didn’t even look at her. “Are you alright?”
“Why do you care?” the ghost asked keeping his gaze towards the ceiling. “Why aren’t you hiding?”
“You’re my friend Napstablook.” explained Fluttershy sitting next to him as the ghost looked away. She smiled sadly and sat there for a moment in silence.
“You’re weird.” the dark Napstablook told her glancing over and Fluttershy shrugged. “I’m going to have to fight you, you know. It’s the only way.”
“Why?” Fluttershy tilted her head to the side watching Napstablook float up and down for a moment. He glitches for a moment as he thought his face growing angrier and angrier.
“I’m not going to fight you.” Fluttershy told him sternly, the darker ghost seemed to be fighting something within him. Fluttershy saw her SOUL fight to appear. Reaching out she held it close asking. “What troubles you Napstablook?”
“STOP TREATING ME LIKE A FRIEND!” yelled Napstablook tears of acid welling up before launching towards Fluttershy. The caretaker dodged to the side not speaking. This angered the ghost even more he was yelling. He hated her, he hated other Monsters, he hated everything… Mettaton. Fluttershy paused when she heard Mettaton’s name.
“Why do you hate him?” she asked quietly and Napstablook paused. She took this chance to form a mask from a slab of wood she had started carrying with her.
“He left to become famous, he left me by myself.” Napstablook mumbled as Fluttershy slipped the mask over her face. “He didn’t care about me, what would happen to the farm when he was gone. Everyone leaves me, why should I care? It’s annoying, THEY’RE ALL ANNOYING!”
“Blooky.” Napstablook looked to where Fluttershy was. Instead of the yellow pony there stood Mettaton. Yet he was different from what he remembered. Instead of the black and red robot with multiple eyes and arms, was silver, pink, and black. Napstablook let out a razor of rage raining more tears upon the robot. Mettaton huffed before walking forward with purpose causing the ghost to flinch visibly. Mettaton faced him eyeing him for a moment. The dark Napstablook glared at him only to flinch when Mettaton raised a hand. A frown grew on Mettaton’s face as he pulled Napstablook into a hug saying quietly. “I will always love you Blooky. No matter what.”
Tears welled up in Napstablook’s eyes as a glow surrounded the two. The forms peeled away, Napstablook and Fluttershy returning to normal in a flurry of feathers.
Fell Sans watched from a distance ready to attack only to hear something being drawn. Glancing to the side he barely managed to dodged a sword swinging towards him by an unknown assailant. The sword was gone in seconds like it wasn’t even there to begin with as the halls began to change again. Fell looked down the hall where the sword came from only to see wisps of light red hair floating towards the ground. ‘Well there’s always next year.’ he thought before vanishing shoving his hands into his pockets vanishing as well.
Fluttershy watched as Napstablook faded glad she was able to help the darker version of him. She wondered why Fell was watching them. Shaking her head she climbed to her feet feel rather tired, she moved to find a safe room to sleep in.
Twilight looked out at the castle as the sun set, Celestia and Luna were going to meet them the next day to try and help. ‘This magic, I don’t think anyone has ever seen it before.’ she mused shaking her head hoping that the next day would provide some answers.
