Previous ChapterNext Chapter[Kar] [Rak] [western jungle river]
Stirring with a headache Rak opened his eyes and the sound of cawing made itself known. Then Rak nearly shat himself as he was hanging upside down in a trap set by... Oh no
“Look, the little chick finally woke up,” Pirate dude number one said in a mocking tone
He heard footsteps Then he was in a shadow he knew all too much. He glared at the massive form of his half-brother Ka’ak “Brother.” a memory: Ka’ak was standing over their Mother's lifeless bodies, all the while Ka’ak dawned in full gear of a major of the covenant’s navy holding a plasma pistol pointed at their father. He was a noble kig-yar before he betrayed us for the brutes/and killed most of his family. [uh the wrong timeline but okay.] *VVVVvvvvrrrrrrrrr* a sound he heard only during combat. Then the discharge. A scream and... There his writhing form lay. A hole in his right shoulder. glaring at the retreating form of Ka’ak.
Ka’ak slowly walked toward Rak. He started to talk again. “Now brother why were you sitting up there for the past five hours?” still glaring at the feather-pecker [what?] Rak forced himself forward and bit a solid chunk out of his leg.
“Take that you disgrace-” anything Rak was about to say was cut off by the talons of his ‘brother’ wrapped around his neck and squeezing hard.
“ You stupid-” *twang* the tell-tale sound of a needler hit Ka’ak and made a clean hole in his arm “Sckreaaaaaeea~” the unholy screeching from his left was probably his sister suddenly making Rak wish it was his half-brother scream.
Kar's battle cry... Mostly a fucking bat screech must’ve scared the shit outta the pirates. The pirates actually dropped everything they were doing and ran... Ran... And fucking ran.
...
[silent trip to camp]
They were on their way back to the village.
Blue Beak [Rak's pet raven] was perched on his shoulder as they entered. A kig-yar- the more dinosaur ones- greeted them “I heard shots. What happened!?” his voice somehow more robotic sounded as they entered deeper
“Pirates” Kar's dull voice answered the... Deacon, wait why is there a deacon on patrol. We need all the healers on the medical team. Eh, ill ask the cheiften.
Entering the village proper, a withered old matriarch sat on a perch with two youngins probably telling stories. A guard sat on a chair staring at one of the kig-yar at the well. The one with a water bucket: A very [in Rak’s eyes] elegant form of a female getting water for the construction workers and- you get it. A thriving village of fifteen. All three subspecies.
making his way to a ladder. Rak looked behind him and his sister was at the mess hall ‘typical’ he thought.
finally making his way up he stared at the curtains containing the chieftain/ their father...
this is gonna be difficult. father always hated Ka’ak, ever since he murdered mother...
