Keeping Secrets
Princesses
Previous ChapterNext ChapterRarity and Sweetie Belle sat in the kitchen at the breakfast table with some toast and tea that Spike had brewed up for them. The past couple of weeks had been.. Rocky. Still no sign of Applejack. At least her and Sweetie had made up, with the ending result being that they were closer than ever. Rarity slowly levitated her cup to her lips and sipped the warm liquid as she stared out of the window into the sunny day, thinking of the day at the hospital where Sweetie had shown up to apologize.
"Sweetie Belle!" Rarity gasped, running to her little sister to give her a big hug.
"Hey sis, I heard you had your appointment today. I'm sorry I missed it. I really tried to be on time.." Sweetie said with a half smile.
"No no no! Don't worry about it. Does... Does this mean you're ready to talk things out?" The purple maned unicorn asked hopefully.
"I've been doing a lot of thinking.. I miss you a lot. And having a foal around wouldn't be so bad.. And what REALLY got me was the fact that I might even be able to get my cutie mark in foalsitting!"
Rarity chuckled, "Oh Sweetie. I missed you as well. The boutique is just isn't the same without you." Rarity said with tears beginning to form in her eyes.
"So did you completely forget about your appointment or what? Tell me what happened!" Sweetie exclaimed.
"Oh my! Yes, of course! I'm having a..."
*Pause for dramatic effect*
"Yeeeessss?" Sweetie Belle said grinning as wide as she possibly could, her white teeth glaring off the hospital lights.
"A little filly!" The excited mare confirmed
"Ohmigoshohmigoshohmigosh! We can play dress up with her and everything!"
"You really want to do that?" Rarity was shocked.
"Yes, why wouldn't I? Maybe I can even get my cutie mark in... Playing?"
"Perhaps you may. Rainbow Dash?" Rarity called, "Would you like to join us for dinner?"
Rainbow Dash strutted over, a bored expression on her face.
"Jeez, I was wondering when you'd quit with the mushy stuff. I'm starving, lets go!" The blue mare said.
Rarity was so thankful to have such a forgiving sister. She averted her eyes from the sun to across the table at Sweetie Belle who seemed lost in thought.
"Something wrong?" Rarity asked.
"Oh no, not at all. I was just thinking of names is all." Sweetie explained, shifting her weight.
"You know, I haven't thought of any so far. What are your suggestions?"
"I really like Blue Belle, Sun Belle, Frosty Belle, Cutie Belle, Honey Belle, you know anything with 'Belle' in it is cool."
Rarity laughed, "Sweetie Belle, we already have one 'Belle' in the family. I wouldn't want to take that honor away from you!" She said, jokingly.
Spike walked in, carrying a mile-high stack of clean plates that he had to put away.
"Hey guys. What's up?" The purple dragon asked nonchalantly.
"Spike, perfect timing! We were just thinking of names, what were you thinking of?"
"Ah geez, Rarity.. I don't know. I haven't thought of anything. Whatever you want." Spike replied.
"Hmm, well well I'm going to ask the rest of our friends and see what they think."
"I wouldn't ask Twilight if I were you. She'd come up with something lame like.. Starswirl or something from her dusty old books." Spike joked, and everyone got a good laugh out of it.
"I have a wonderful idea! Spike, take a letter." Rarity beamed.
