"RPG!," There it was, the dreaded acronym no one wanted to hear. In case you didn't know, it stands for 'rocket-propelled grenade'. A grenade turned into a rocket in which can be fired out of a tube at high velocity, hence the name. The popular and highly used weapon in the middle east designed to neutralize targets up to highly armored vehicles to basic ground Infantry. The reason why I'm elaborating this is because this weapon seems to be the death of most of the soldiers in this long war and even some civilians, that and the numerous amount of suicide bombings. Well I mean, hell how would I know I don't keep count or read the statistics. Their number one used assault rifle is the AK-47 or something along the lines of that gun but none of the bastards can aim worth a damn. It's almost like giving a gun to a slightly trained monkey, but what they don't have in skill they make up for in numbers. And numbers they have plenty of.
As you can see from the description I have given you, you could imagine that having one of these things being launched at you at high velocity would be more than a little bit concerning, especially when its aimed straight for the hood of your Humvee which is racing at 60 miles per hour. Oh, keep in mind that it's the Humvee going 60 miles per hour, not the missile. The missile is coming a lot faster. Me and my squad are being chased; running away from something.
How did we end up here, what could me and my team have possibly done to put ourselves in this shit hole of a predicament. Well, it's not so much as what we have done, but what we didn't do. One of the many stories of the world I lived in. And like how most of the troops started off; my story started on a plane, a C-130 to be precise.

"10 seconds!"
I was standing close to the edge of the bay door, looking down taking in the sights. I took this as a time for a kind of silent reflection. The powerful wind and the sound of the loud engine never affected me, not just because of the headphones I was wearing to connect me to the comms, but because the sounds put me at a sense of ease. It helps me be at peace when I think, kind of like sleeping with a fan on at night.
Me and my squad are about to initiate a high-altitude jump over Tartus, a city in Syria. I've never been to this part before and I have to admit, this was one of the better parts of this country I've been to. There were houses and buildings and neat architecture, some Street systems, and barely anything was demolished other than a building I spotted they tore down to make something new. It was a nice change of pace for once. it's almost like they only send me to the bad parts of the country, nevermind that's exactly what it's like. But really, putting the dullness and the orange sand aside it reminds me of the most of home.
"5 seconds!"
I watched as we flew past it all and away from civilization, we needed a safe place to land after all and I don't think any of us wants to slam face first into architecture mid parachute. Why are we being deployed in a civilian population? Well it's simple, the Russians had made a naval/air force base right on the edge of the city of Tartus. Well, it was more naval than an actual air force base but that location was known for the numerous amount of aircraft carriers so it wasn't the boats we were particularly after, so that's what we called it for the time being. The FBI has gotten word that Isis and Taliban fighters have been trying to get at that place for a while now. And things got crazy when they found out that with one finale coordinated attack the base was overwhelmed. They took the base, it was terrorist territory now. Or at least that's what we were told.
Regardless if it were true, that meant that terrorist had access not just to a whole fleet of boats, but they had a whole working airforce with who knows how much ammunition. All we knew is that this was bad news bears for America.
But that happened months ago, We thought we should just wait this one out. I mean the Russians would surely retaliate with another attack and take back the base with there obviously superior military right? wrong. Its been months and not just America but no one has heard a peep from the Russian government.
And that's just causing more conspiracies to flow around.
But besides that fact as far as I know, or what I was able to learn; all trys of communication has failed and Russia stays quiet. But one agonizing fact we know is we are currently at war with Isis and the Taliban and if somebody doesn't do something, well like I said.
Bad news bears for America.
Though for lack of better terms, something smells fishy and I dont like it. Why were fighters in Tartus in the first place? As far as I know that territory never really had any major problems and it seems so neutral. Why haven't civilians evacuated yet?
I still dont believe thier giving us the hole truth, If so its amazing what a group of people with nothing but sandals and loincloths can do. But giving our government the benefit of the doubt I carried on, My job is to protect and serve America's interests. Not that I had a choice in that matter anyway.
Our mission is to drops in first for reconnaissance; explore and survey the area and comm. back any important information. Make a safe way for the following Marines that will be coming, and assist them in the operation.
As far as I know, or as Iv been told we have the most important job in this endeavor. When I get down there, I can't fuck this up.
I can not fuck this up.

I leaned forward and let the wind take me, as my squad follows close behind.

"I am a weapon," she replies with no hesitation standing at attention.
"What were you born to do?"
"To kill."
"What is your purpose?"
"To kill."
"Good, and-"
"And nothing will stand in the way of my objective, dispatch anything that gets in my way," She cuts me off.
I glare at her.
"And what is your objective young one?" I ask still glaring at her.
There was hesitation.
"..."
"To kill Princess Celestia."
My devilish smile grows even bigger, and green eyes glow brighter in darkness.

As you can tell this isn't the full chapter, I'm probably still working on it as you read this. it'll be a lot longer. Think of this as a type of teaser for the full thing still to come.
I really just published this small bit to see if people find it worth reading,
I'm working really hard on this. Story will probably be long as hell.
