My Brave Pony Alternate Adventures

Their majesties and their dragon reappeared in a clearing with the sun blazing above their heads. "So what alternate universe are we in now?" Celestia asked. Grand Ruler shielded his eyes from the sun, "Wherever we are, the sun should not be this hot." Dusk and Dawn roared in discomfort. "Awww poor boys, they must be burning up." Celestia said.

"Come maybe we can find some shade in a town nearby." Grand Ruler suggested.

Their majesties and their trudged on through the hot sun. Dusk and Dawn were trying to walk through but since they were used to living in forest where there were small periods of sunlight, they weren't used to this at all. "Hang on boys, we'll reach some shelter soon." Grand Ruler reassured.

"Hey, darling, look!" Celestia pointed ahead and saw a familiar town, "New Ponyville."

"Let's go, with caution."

Celestia agreed and they all walked through the sun until they came to the town. Ponies were walking around the city, minding their own business, but when they all spotted Celestia, they screamed and dashed into their houses. "Well... that's... unexpected."

Grand Ruler went to one of the houses and knocked on it, "Um... excuse me."

The door creaked opened and a white mare with a blonds mane and tail, answered the door, nervously. "Y-Y-Yes?"

"Is there something wrong ma'am?" he asked gently. "We don't want to stir up any trouble."

The mare swallowed and quickly looked side to side. "Come in, quickly." Grand Ruler, Celestia and Dusk and Dawn came into the mare's house where she lived alone. Dusk and Dawn were grateful for the shade. "Sorry for the screaming and running." she apologized. "My name is Sunshine."

"Well, Sunshine, can you explain why everyone was afraid of me?" Celestia questioned.

"Well... it's the story of Daybreaker."

"Daybreaker?" Grand Ruler inquired. "Whose that?"

"Well... this is gonna so awkward... but... Daybreaker is... you." Sunshine replied, pointing to Celestia.

"Me?" she exclaimed in shock.

"How?" Grand Ruler asked.

"Let me start from the beginning... there were once two royal sisters; one for the day and one for the night. They both brought harmony to the land by raising the sun and moon. But one day the younger sister grew jealous of the elder sister and the darkness in her heart turned her into a wicked mare of darkness; Nightmare Moon.

The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the younger sister did not listen. There was another alicorn but this one had three horns each other golden with golden wings as well. He was the elder sister's lover. The younger sister tried to take the alicorn for herself, but the elder sister refused to her take him. The alicorn didn't want to see his two member fight so he had no choice but to desert them, hoping that they'll sort things out on their own.

The lost of her lover changed the elder sister, her grief rapidly turned to anger and she snapped thus changing her into a wicked mare; but this one was for the sun, Daybreaker. Her rainbowy coloured mane and tail was set ablaze, her tear filled magenta eyes morphing into a fiery amber glare with vertical shaped pupils and what appeared to be fangs growing."

Celestia and Grand Ruler were shocked and horrified. In this alternate universe, Celestia is an evil mare named Daybreaker and Grand Ruler is no where to be found! "What happened to Nightmare Moon?" Grand Ruler asked.

"Nightmare Moon made an army of bat ponies and flew far away but they do not come out during the day. Daybreaker couldn’t risk Nightmare Moon amassing an army or bringing about eternal night again. So she broke the day and night cycle when the sun was at its peak. As you probably already know, bat ponies are nocturnal so they don’t function well during the daytime. Which ironically is also how she got her name ‘Daybreaker’ for breaking the day.”

"And I'm guessing Nightmare Moon is still out there?" Celestia asked. Sunshine nodded. "And the reason so many ponies were afraid of Celestia?"

"It is mostly the villages that are scared of Daybreaker and alicorns by extension of that. Whenever we see Daybreaker she usually demands something from us saying it is ‘tribute for your protection’ or something along those lines." Sunshine added.

Celestia and Grand Ruler looked at each other with worry.

Knock Knock Knock

"Sunshine, are you home?" a voice called.

Sunshine gasped in horror, "It's Daybreaker, quick hide her!" she frantically ordered, pointing to Celestia. Grand Ruler placed and invisibility spell on his wife just as Daybreaker entered the door. And.. WOW what a mare!

"Ahhh, Sunshine, I was wondering-" Daybreaker stopped talking when she saw Grand Ruler, who waved nervously at her. "Darling... is it really you?"

"Uuuhhhh." Grand Ruler said, not sure how to approach this." he was suddenly picked up by Daybreaker's magic and into her hug. "Oh, darling, I thought I'd never see you again!" she cried.

"Uuhh... good to see you too." he said slowly.

"I missed you so much. Now that I have you in my arms once again, I'm going to take you back to the palace where you shall be mine forever." Daybreaker exclaimed.

"WHAT?!" Their majesties thought.

Suddenly, the invisibility spell wore off of Celestia and she became visible, catching Daybreaker off guard.

".... Awkward." Sunshine replied.

A moment of silence followed, "Umm.. Sunshine, who is this and why does she looked like the old me?"

"Well... your majesty... this is Princess Celestia, hehehe." she replied nervously. "And she happens to be his... wife."

Daybreaker looked at Celesto who smiled nervously at her. "Now... Daybreaker, if you don't mind." Celestia took her husband in her magic and floated him over to her, "i would like my husband back." Daybreaker took Celesto in her magic, "Sorry, other me, but he's coming with me." Daybreaker and Celestia pulled Grand Ruler in either direction saying repeatedly, "Mine, mine, mine,mine."

Grand Ruler groaned, "Why me?"

Finally Dusk and Dawn came in and grabbed Grand Ruler and placed him on their back. "Whose the two headed beast?"

"I'm guessing he's their dragon." Sunshine replied.

"Dragon? But I banished them to the Dark Forests where Nightmare Moon resides." Daybreaker stated, worrying Dusk and Dawn.

"And I think he's saying if you want to fight over him, then I'm taking him away?"

Dusk and Dawn nodded, confirming Sunshine's sentence. Daybreaker growled at the two headed dragon, "Well... if you two want to stand in the way of my one true love, then I'll have to deal with you both."

Her horn glowed, ready to strike Celestia and the Zippleback. Sunshine squeaked and ducked for cover. Grand Ruler gasped and quickly used a teleportation spell on the three of them, teleporting them out of the house and into the air. "GAAAAHHHH!!!"

CRASH!

"Oooohh." They groaned. They landed near the outskirts of New Ponyville. "Ugghh.. are you alright?" Celesto asked.

"I'm alright dear." Celestia replied.

They both hear a sickly roar near them. "Dusk! Dawn!" The Zippleback was collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. "Oh dear!" Grand Ruler said. They went over and felt their dragons scales which were hot, "It's too hot for them, they're burning up!"

"But do we do?" Celestia asked.

"Oh dear,
What do we have here?" a voice said.

Their majesties looked and saw a yellow alicorn male coming up to them and they recognized the rhyming voice anywhere.

"A ill dragon I see,
Please hurry and come with me."

Their majesties nodded and managed to lift their Titan Wing pal and bring him to the yellow alicorn's cottage. The yellow alicorn opened the door and ushered them inside.

"Quickly now,
Lay him down."

Their majesties came in and placed their dragon on the couch. He went into the kitchen and came back out with two large bowls of cold water. He brought it before Dusk and Dawn

"Here drink this brew,
It'll be good for you."

Dusk and Dawn roared faintly and began licking up the water. "Thanks for your help." Grand Ruler said.

"No problem at all,
The name is Rhymey
I'm glad to answer your call
But who are you?
I haven't seen you around here at all."

Their majesties looked at each other nervously. "Well... this might sounds hard to believe but we'll tell you." And so Grand Ruler and Celestia explained themselves to Rhymey and he was nothing short of amazed.

"So you both are from another world
And you been transported here through the power of a potion
Making dimension jumps into motion
The only way you can get home
Is if you roam?"

"Yes, we have to keep going through other dimensions until we find ours." Celestia confirmed.

Rhymey was a little surprised to see another Celestia.

"I amuse you met the breaker of the way,
And she's a little scary so to say."

"Yes indeed. But I couldn't help but ask." Grand Ruler stated. "Where's Fluttershy?"

Rhyemy's face turned sad.

"My sweet Fluttershy,
She's been taken to the side,
I miss the sound of her sweet crys
And the moments together when we fly."

"I don't to upset you even more, but what happened to her?" Celestia inquired.

"Fluttershy and her friends,
When Nightmare Moon fled,
She took them all to the Dark Forest's end,
And with great dread,
That I say
They've gone the evil way."

Grand Ruler and Celestia gasped, "How?"

"Nightmare Moon put their darkness into motion,
When she fed them all and evil potion,
They now serve her in her castle,
Bringing Daybreaker great hassle,
She tried to find a cure for the potion,
But she hasn't found anything she could use to put into motion,
I fear I may never see my sweet again,
Keeping my heart at a sadden strain."

Celestia and Grand Ruler were horrified by Rhymey's story. They looked at each other and nodded "Maybe we could find something to make the antidote to the potion." Celestia offered. Rhymey perked up,

"Are you really true,
I can count on you?"

Their majesties nodded. "We'll make the antiotde and get Fluttershy and her friends back." Grand Ruler said.

"I fear the only way this war will end
Is if the royal sisters make amends."

"We'll find a way to bring them together as well." Celestia added. Rhymey smiled and hugged the two ponies.

"Thank you,
I believe in you."

Their majesties smiled. "So do you know anyone who might know of a cure?"

Rhymey thought for a moment,

"There is someone who may,
But where she is I cannot say,
Black and white her stripes so clearly
She's a zebra, a member of the pony family
She lives in this forest in her own hut
She friendly to anyone good, but evil she is but
And expert at potions she is
Some would even say she's a wiz
Zecora is her name
And she doesn't play a potion making game."

"So Zecora may know how to make the cure. We've gotta find her." Grand Ruler said.

"But be weary,
The forest holds many dangers
Some and deadly and some are eerie."

"Right." Celestia said. That's when Celestia and Grand Ruler's stomach growled, making them realize how hungry they both were. "Hehe, excuse us." Grand Ruler said sheepishly.

Rhymey smiled,

"I'll make some food for you
Before you set out on your journey,
That I know is true."

Rhymey went back into the kitchen and prepared two bowls of oatmeal for their majesties and made some fish for Dusk and Dawn. He gave the four of them their food and they all ate, enjoying every bite of it. When they were done, their majesties got ready to set out on their mission.

"Thanks for your help, Rhymey." Celestia praised.

"Oh think nothing of it,
Now good luck on your quest
Be smart and quick
And you'll beat the rest."

Their majesties nodded but before they could leave, Dusk and Dawn called out to them. "Aww, boys, you two can't come. It's too dangerous for you both." Celestia said. "We don't want you two passing out from the sun like before." Grand Ruler added. Dusk and Dawn roared and thrusted their heads into their rider's stomachs. "Ooh, boys." They both rubbed them for comfort. Dusk and Dawn have always been protective of them and they didn't want to leave them alone in a universe full of danger.

"We'll be fine, we promise." Grand Ruler vowed. Dusk and Dawn nodded and licked their owners, making them chuklced.

"Don't worry,
I'll take good care of them,
While you both go on your journey."

"Thanks Rhymey. Let's go darling." Grand Ruler said.

Celestia nodded and they both left the cottage and headed into the forest for the first step of the big mission.
