Rainbow's Night
Load Full StoryIt was the middle of the night in Equestria; thousands of sapient creatures were asleep while a choice few were wide awake and engaging in their deepest sexual desires below the true and still active Heart of Friendship, the same one from the Hearth’s Warming Tale still burns with the love and passion constantly fueled into it over the millenia. In a mid level of what is now known as The Clocktower Society, a blue mare engages in a little self indulgence of her own.
Rainbow looked over her left shoulder into the cerulean eyes of the stallion behind the mask; silently pleading with him to keep doing what he was doing. The soft rope wrapped around her midsection constricted her breathing, but more so the movement of her wings. Her forelegs were bound to a very sturdy towel rack in a public bathroom; they just happened to be the only ones in at the moment and they took every advantage they could.
“This is so bucking hot,” a mare said from Rainbow’s right, out of the way and easily out of mind. Rainbow glanced over to the green mare, who’s horn glowed blue with magic controlling the tightness of the rope. The feeling of having a stallion she didn’t know seduce her with a single look, pull her into the bathroom, then just start rutting her while his possible marefriend wrapped her in silky rope and locked her soft blue hoofcuffs to a wall was the most impulsive thing she’d done in days.
“Yeah, right there. Rut me harder!” She struggled to move her hind legs under his added weight. “I’m gonna cum; tighter! Pull it tighter, I…” she gasped loudly and cast spittle onto the wall, “can’t move my wings.” She was sweating and panting heavily as the tingle in her belly moved from the pit of her stomach to fill her entire chest. Her clit winked with furiosity, instinctively trying to milk him before he was done.
Her heart beat so heavily she could feel it with each thrust he made. “Tartarus, yes...” Rainbow’s eyes rolled back in her head while her eyelids nearly closed. She drooled slightly as physical bliss started to explode through her body. “I’m cumming… I’m cu-uhh-uh… uhng!” She tensed and the rope stretched to its tensile limit when her wings tried to fly open. The next several seconds were silent, as her body went rigid from the orgasm that racked her and nothing, save for the slapping of his balls against her teats and a quiet steady squeak from Rainbow’s mouth as she peaked broke the silence of the room. She stayed in her rigid position for just long enough to sap her energy. “Guh,” she exhaled and finally, after what felt like a race through the woods with Applejack, Rainbow felt her hind legs relax and she nearly fell to the floor, succumbing to gravity’s demand.
The stallion leaned across her back, supporting her rear half with his forelegs. “Nuh-uh-uh. I still have to finish,” he stated matter of factly and punctuated his statement with a thrust so hard and deep the slap from their bodies connecting broke through the haze her mind was in. The sound was matched by Rainbow’s whinney which pitched higher as he pressed himself against her rear and rubbed his hips in a circle against her.
“I’m getting everything I can out of you before I finish,” he said in a deep husky voice that spurred her current orgasm on. Rainbow couldn’t talk, she could barely think, but everything she felt combined into one full body experience was something she would later describe as knowing, for a few seconds, what it was to be Pinkie Pie, possibly on a sugar rush.
She returned to reality and her body shook one last time when she was pushed at least four inches closer to the wall as he came in her. His cock flared, blocking as much of his seed from leaving her body and when she felt her womb filling with each squirt. To her it was like cool water being poured on her back during a hot summer afternoon.
She sighed when he finished, having felt his cum overflow from her wet pussy and run down her legs. When he slid out of her body with ease, the mare she’d forgotten about was using her forelegs to lower Rainbow to the floor while using her magic to unbind her forelegs. With dual care, Rainbow was lowered by them both to the floor while her winking pussy quietly splashed the cum leaking from her and added to the puddle on the floor between her hind legs.
“Hey, are you okay?” A single ding from the bell on Rainbow’s tail answered the mare. “Good, you looked like you were gonna pass out near the end.” The three of them chuckled, then Rainbow yawned and her eyes closed as she fell into a blissful slumber filled with happy dreams she’d forget when she awoke, but they were the dreams one has that brightens their day when they eventually wake up.
Rainbow hummed awake when she was lowered onto a soft-plush, cushion that smelt of lilac cupcake frosting and blueberries; smells she knew only because of Pinkie Pie’s cupcake creations and a secret deep appreciation of the above in such a way that certainly doesn’t make her girly or have sappy feelings.
“Oh, she’s waking up,” the mare said indirectly from Rainbow’s right. “Rainbow, you were amazingly awesome.”
“Well, duh,” Rainbow snickered and swallowed dryly. “Water?” she asked while grinning proudly. The mare offered her a straw right away and when Rainbow sipped it she felt a quick rush of energy go through her. “Wow, apple and lemonade? Yum.” She sipped again then exhaled loudly. “So, who do I have to thank for all that?” She turned and looked at the stallion she now saw was a unicorn.
The room was a calm blue and clouds floated in the ceiling via illusion, the air itself felt like it was carrying a warm breeze that smelt of apple blossom that sent her mind to lying in trees in Applejack’s orchard and secretly watching the mare work.
The stallion was standing out of her view and was slowly filling a bathtub with water and was dampening several small towels for use in cleaning her. He looked at her with green eyes that sparkled in the light and made her heartbeat stutter when she remembered who they reminded her of. “I’m actually a stallion you kind of know.” His horn glowed and the glamor covering him dispelled showing an orange stallion, deeply blushing.
“Sunburst?! Wow.” Rainbow sat up and turned to him so quickly the mare beside her spilled some of the juice she’d been holding. “Does Starlight know you’re here, and what you did, and how awesome it was?!” She gesticulated with her forelegs and wings while exclaiming her gratuitous joy at what she’d been through. Rainbow fell back onto the cushion with a content sigh. “I feel like I weigh ten more pounds after that,” she said with a grin.
Sunburst relaxed and brought the towels with him in his magic while the mare’s horn dimmed and she set the glass on a side table. “Well, I don’t really mind.” Stalight’s voice came from beside her and Rainbow’s eyes widened at the giggling mare. Her horn flashed and the pink mare was sitting beside her. “Surprise!” She threw her forelegs up and fell across Rainbow, sending them both into a short laughing fit.
“Wow, I didn’t know you were in the Society, Starlight,” Rainbow said softly and with a slight blush as who she was with and what she’d done with somepony so close to her, being so close to her during and after what happened.
Starlight scooted across Rainbow to lay next to her. “Well now you do.” She reached a forehoof up to tap Rainbow on the chest.
Sunburst stepped onto the cushion. “Roll over, Rainbow, so I can get that stuff off you before it dries any more.”
“Ha, you can’t say cum?” Rainbow teased as she rolled over, scooting around in place until she was on her belly, then moved her hindlegs under herself. Her tail swished side to side, then with a flick her tail was across her back, showing the normally shy stallion what he’d had his cock inside.
He gulped loudly and blinked his eyes away from the still wet pussy that he knew was full, overfull actually. “I can,” he replied as a warm cloth touched beside the base of her tail and brushed in line with her fur, “I just don’t think it’s a very nice word, like effing or calling a mare’s parts certain words-”
“He can say anything when disguised,” Starlight interjected, now lying with all her legs under herself in a similar pose to Rainbow’s. “But he’s a hopeless romantic in real life. He can barely touch me when he’s like this.” She nodded her horn in his direction.
“Then he can come to the castle as anypony and do what he just did to me on the map table while I bury my tongue down your throat.” She laughed and swatted Sunburst with her tail when the towel jerked and brushed over her labia. “Naughty stallion, I need a rest before you get another shot.”
Sunburst shook his head, “No, thank you; I’m done for a little while still. You know, technically and according to my own research-” Rainbow fake snored loudly.
“Boring! So, Starlight,” Rainbow looked aside to her friend while three towels now wiped his drying cum from her legs and everywhere he could see with much more careful strokes, “does he give you the same treatment he gave me earlier?” she looked Starlight over and balked, “you’re wearing his mark?” her gaze locked onto Starlight’s collar.
“Well, that’s a bit tricky to answer,” Starlight responded with a throaty chuckle. “I’m kinda different,” she looked back at Sunburst and back to Rainbow with a soft smile.
“Well? What’s the deal, if you can’t tell me, I totally understand.”
“Rainbow,” Starlight said softly and scooted closer to her friend, “I’m celibate.”
Rainbow cocked her head, “Celibate? Like that religion, or is that a political related thing?”
Sunburst chuckled and Starlight shook her head while gazing at a passing cloud above them to mask the rolling of her eyes. She looked at Rainbow with calmness, “No, it means I don’t have sex, not until I feel it’s the right time,” she held up a hoof to stall Rainbow, “that means no of my body will experience another pony’s touch.”
Rainbow pushed herself up on her forelegs and looked incredulously at Starlight. “What are you talking about? This’ the Society, nopony can be here and not have sex! It’s what its all about.”
Starlight used a foreleg to press Rainbow’s back down and encouraged her to lie again. Sunburst chimed in from behind Rainbow, tossing a towel aside and replacing it for a new one, “There are a couple very rare exceptions to the rules.”
“Yeah, like the one I found, kind of by accident,” Starlight beamed and waited for Rainbow to ask
“Well? I don’t know the rules that I don’t have to, do I have to ask my Pipsub?”
“Nope,” Starlight chirped, “turns out I can be an emotional and physical support for Sunburst to help him focus and have his fun. I choose to follow him around-”
“Sometimes on a leash,” Sunburst interjected and gave his mare-friend a wink when she stuck her tongue out at him.
“Like I was saying, I follow him around and help encourage him to find the right mare for the event, help him find an out of the way spot where they won’t be watched, and help him when needed in restraining or disorienting the target of his affections.”
“Most of the planning is done on the first floor over tea,” Sunburst added happily.
Rainbow’s ears twitched and a grin split her face when she focused on Starlight, “So, you’re a guide dog?” Starlight frowned and Rainbow laughed, rolling onto her side guffawing. “So, so… do you spend most of your free time playing with the other pets in-” her mouth closed with a blue aura of magic; it didn’t stop her from laughing, only now she snorted snot from her nose across Starlight’s face.
Starlight hopped to her hooves and scrambled away, wiping her face with her foreleg and disliking everything about the current moment in time, which was made worse when she tripped off the cushion and rolled, muzzle over tail, onto the floor. Even Sunburst joined in laughing at Starlight’s misfortune.
A red cloud sprung from Starlight’s horn and hovered over her head, startling her and making her gasp and prance between her forelegs in anxiety. “Oh no, oh no, not again... Rainbow,” she turned to the multicolor maned mare, “I’m upset with you,” she sighed, “because you blew your nose in my face and Sunburst,” she looked at him and her expression softened, “you laughed at me instead of stopping me from falling and making an ass of myself,” the red fog dissipated and all three sighed.
“Look, I know I have a habit of overreacting sometimes,” she shot them a look that directly implied they not tease her about her verbiage or imply anything from past episodes, “but, I’m a counselor at a school, I have to know alternative methods of problem resolution that won’t hurt others... or anything that would make me even think about mind controlling all my problems away,” she laughed nervously and sighed dejectedly.
“Starlight, come over here and lay next to Rainbow, you’re getting some attention, too.”
Rainbow rolled to her side and moved her hind legs into a comfortable position, turned her expression into one that yelled ‘come hither’, culminating with her tongue sliding across her top lip. “Yeah, you want some attention, right? Ouch,” she snorted into a giggle after getting a pillow to her back from Sunburst.
“You behave, silly mare,” he said with a smirk. He picked up Starlight, to her surprise, and moved her to Rainbow’s side. “Now, you two hug and make up while I get the bath ready.”
Both mares watched him walk away and both mares watched his tail sway side to side in a hypnotic rhythm; Starlight shook her head slightly to stop watching, “So, Rainbow, to be honest I didn’t think it was you when we chose you, all I knew was a mare that looked a lot like you was practically begging for a rut and,” she shrugged, “well…”
Rainbow looked into Sunbursts eyes when he glanced back and she kissed at him with a loud sound before she blew it at him and winked, making him blush lightly. He turned his attention back to the bath and began mixing herbs into the water. “Well, I know I’m really awesome, being an official Wonderbolt now,” she turned her grin to Starlight, who wasn’t buying into the gloating mare’s ego, who kept her grin, “lots of fillies and mares wanna look like me,” her grin seemed to brighten her features, “and a lot of stallions, too.
“I mean, I knew I was great before,” she rolled to her back and relaxed her wings so they lay flat on the bed, “but here? Since I became a Wonderbolt I’ve seen hundreds of me all over the place,” she looked at the wall behind Starlight and stared into memory before she lost her almost palpable arrogance with a single drawn out sigh, the kind one does when they want someone to ask something so they can vent their problem.
“What’s wrong, Rainbow?”
“Some ponies do, well,” she turned away from Starlight, “they’re not bad things, but things that I’d never really do that I might think of as being bad, or not cool, or kinda,” she shrugged her wings, “wrong.”
Starlight moved close and draped a foreleg over Rainbow’s barrel and slid her hindleg between Rainbow’s, then gave a gentle nuzzle to the cyan mare’s neck eliciting a relaxation of Rainbow’s legs and head. “Tell me what happened.”
Rainbow’s ear twitched when the practiced clinical voice came across her. “Starlight, I dunno if I can talk about it, or that I should. The rules about secrets, and all that,” she started to curl into herself but was stopped by Starlight’s strategic positioning.
“Rainbow, it’s okay to talk about it. It’ll make you feel better, I’m sure of it.”
A few seconds of silence followed that statement and just before Starlight spoke, Rainbow started, “Ponies that look like me are living their fantasies, a lot of them are fun to watch or hear about. A couple I’ve even copied,” she lifted a wing to the faux sky and spread her pinions, counting space between clouds to distract herself, “but there are some out there,” she nodded in an arbitrary direction, “that just do things to me, that aren’t me, but they look like me, and the things they do to hurt themselves or others is...” her wing fell open across her body.
“Are you talking about the sadists? I know some ponies don’t like seeing what they do to themselves and each other, but you have to understand that-”
“The foal lovers that look like me when they futa and start attacking some pony pretending to be a filly or colt in rapeplay. The things I’ve heard some say while rutting some crying foal... the sadists and masochists that go to the extremes, that take my body and make me look like a nightmare doll from the hidden caves of Tartarus with my wings, and… skin,” a squeeze from Starlight helped her skip the nightmarish thoughts, “the ponies that look like me and live in the cumbaths just getting filled and not doing anything but taking it, like I’m lazy, or something. Or,” she huffed indignantly, “the milking stalls and have dozens of ponies drink from my teats on somepony else’s body, or the one that lives in the scat pit,” she shuddered, “that swim in-”
Starlight took that moment to interject, “So, it sounds like you don’t like what they’re doing to your image more than anything else.”
Rainbow shrugged her shoulders and wings dismissively. “Maybe, that’s all I have sometimes.”
“Rainbow, Starlight, would you like to join me in the bath?”
“Just a minute, Sunburst, Rainbow and I are talking. Rainbow, not one pony in the entire history of the Society, probably, has ever approved of or loved everyother creature’s choice of sexual pleasure and stress relief. That’s why we have so many rules, limits, safeguards,” she used her forehoof to tap Rainbow’s Pipsub.
“You have to know that those are there for a reason, right? If they weren’t there, what’s to turn this amazing place of love and peace into a disgusting hole of debauchery and fear, and pain? You’re not supposed to like what everypony does, but you do have to respect their individual desires, right?”
Rainbow moved her foreleg and placed her hoof on Starlight’s. “It’s scary, Starlight. What if somepony thinks I’m really that pony? I’m supposed to be awesome, the poster mare for coolness, the idol Equestria always wanted… but, ugh! I dunno how to say it,” she then grumbled.
Starlight nuzzled her nose into Rainbow’s mane and got a quiet sigh in reply, she felt Rainbow relax, “Rainbow, it’s okay to let it out. Just let it go and let me know how you feel.” A quiet growl rumbled through Rainbow’s barrel and Starlight prepared herself for a long few minutes of shouting, the silence wasn’t expected. ”Rainbow?”
The blue mare started trembling and Starlight couldn’t believe it, but she knew what it meant. She used her forelegs and magic to turn Rainbow over so they were chest to chest and hugged her. Rainbow hugged back, tightly as tears left her eyes and wet Starlight’s neck. That was when Rainbow let the walls down and started crying more than Starlight had ever seen.
Sunburst watched from the side and stayed quiet, slightly uncertain of why she was crying and how to help, so he wisely shut up and looked away to give them some privacy.
“It’s gonna be okay, Rainbow. No pony or creature is going to judge what looks like you from doing anything, and if it’s a problem we can bring it up to the Den, alright?” she pat Rainbow’s back with her free foreleg and held Rainbow. “Just, let it out. It’s okay to be worried about your image being tainted. If I was-” she tried to listen to Rainbow’s whining mumbles into her neck, “what was that?”
Rainbow didn’t answer, she just gave a final squeeze and pushed herself up, wiping her eyes and nose on her foreleg.
Rainbow stood and, with droopy wings, walked to the stallion in the tub. “Help me in?” Sunburst held a dripping foreleg over the edge and helped her into the large bath that Rainbow felt was more akin to a hot tub without bubbles, and it smelled like wildflowers in a warm meadow. “Wow, this is really nice,” she giggled in a girly way when she submerged herself in the very hot and relaxing water; it was concerning to Starlight to see the change in her mood shift so quickly and she exchanged a short hushed conversation with Sunburst when Rainbow went under the water.
She held her breath and sank into the water, feeling it tingle against her skin and certain spots on her sides and flank where an earlier stallion had been rough with her. She puffed her cheeks out and blew bubbles slowly from her nostrils in bursts for a few seconds, then exhaled almost all the remaining air in her lungs as she rose through the surface. “Uggghhhh, I so needed this. I haven’t done this in almost a week.”
Starlight climbed into the tub and sighed, relaxing between the other two, making a triangle of bodies. “What, been pampered after a rough day?”
Rainbow leaned back and hummed, her forelegs and mane dripping water en masse onto the floor. “Nope, taken a bath,” she grinned when she felt the other two move uncomfortably. “Geez, you two are gullible. I take rain showers and flying through clouds does the job, too,” she sat up and winked at Starlight, “I’m a pegasus, I don’t have to use grounder’s water.”
“Well, it’s really nice to know you’re taking care of yourself, but you do get taken care of outside the Society, right?” Rainbow shrugged at Sunburst’s question. “What does that mean, ‘shrug’, don’t you have anypony you have a little crush on?”
“Nope,” Rainbow stated shortly. “No mare’s caught my eye either, so don’t ask,” she pouted and lay back again, frowning at the sky.
The unicorns looked knowingly between each other and Starlight leaned a little closer to Rainbow, “Are you sure?”
“Ugh, yes! Drop it, okay?”
“Oh,” Sunburst tapped his chin, “Starlight, did you see that stallion… what’s his name, brown mane with a whisk beside a clock for a cutie mark?”
“Thyme? Weird stallion, but always on time, yeah, why?” she answered him, holding back a giggle.
“Well, I saw him going into the barn with Applejack this morning while she was starting her chores. He looked really excited about something and-”
Water splashed across the room and when the unicorns cleared their eyes, Sunburst yipped in surprise, Rainbow glared at him from above, a look of indignant rage across her face, her forelegs were trembling and a spark of hurt was in her eyes. “When was that, exactly? I didn’t see that happen, did they do anything?! Why won’t you tell me?” she flew back and hovered over the floor and started pacing in the air.
“Oh no, I was too late, she can’t be with that guy! He’s totally not right for her, he’s just,” she gasped and in the three seconds she’d been rambling came to an epiphany that only she knew, “I’ve gotta save the farm, I gotta go!” she turned toward the door and made for it, stopping suddenly and dangling by her tail. “Why does everypony stop me by grabbing my tail?!” That was when she heard the snickering. She was enveloped in yellow magic and pulled back and into the tub, where Starlight and Sunburst grinned.
“See, Sunburst, I told you I saw it.” Rainbow balked at Starlight, then Sunburst, then Starlight and her expression changed to shock. “Oh, she gets it! Yeah, Rainbow; we were just seeing if you like her… looks like it’s more than a little like,” she winked at Rainbow.
Rainbow crossed her forelegs and folded her wings to her side, “Whatever, so I like Applejack, so what?”
The other two laughed for a moment and then with a look that females have, Starlight told him to step out of her conversation and occupy himself or he’d be in some sort of trouble; she didn’t know what yet, but he wouldn’t like it. With urgency, Sunburst moved beside Rainbow and used his magic to pour shampoo into her mane to occupy himself while Starlight and Rainbow talked.
“‘So what’? So why don’t you ask her out?”
“Because, she’d say no, final. She only has farming on her mind, and her family. She won’t make time for a relationship, especially not now, and especially with a mare like me,” she looked away, not wanting to see Starlight’s expression.
“Rainbow,” Starlight said softly, “what do you have that she wouldn’t want?”
“Starlight… I,” she sighed contentedly, both from the shampoo scrubbing a into her mane and the hooves rubbing a soft sponge across her body under the water.
“What is it, Rainbow. What do you feel you can’t be with her? You’re so alike, how can you not be a perfect match? Wait here and we’ll help you relax some more.” Starlight and Sunburst climbed from the tub, both moving behind Rainbow and pressing their hooves into her muscles while cleaning her with magic controlled sponges and brushes at the same time.
Rainbow mumbled something and Starlight asked her to speak up. “I can’t give her foals, okay? All she wants is family, and her farm and her orchard,” Rainbow mocked in Applejack’s southern accent, returning to her normal voice she quietly finished, “I can’t really help with having foals any more than I can tell her how much and for how long I’ve lo- er, liked her.”
The unicorns smiled between themselves. “So, what if we told you she liked you that way, too?” Rainbow cleared her throat, her wings slowly rose from the water, opening in a primal tell that every tribe of pony knew was an erotic display, Rainbow forced her wings down. “What would you do?”
They helped Rainbow float on her belly with their magic and rubbed Rainbow’s coat with their hooves, relaxing her body and mind. “I dunno, do a sonic rainboom, probably… then laugh, then fly home to tell my parents because we’re cool now, then tell Princess Celestia,” she grinned and hummed. “I’d fly to the Crystal Empire to tell Cadence and we’d get together with Pinkie to throw this awesome party, invite everypony we know and eat fresh apples, right from the trees.
“Me’n AJ’d go for a walk down to the stream that goes through her orchard and it’d be a race that I’d let her win, because she’s the only one that can beat me and I want her to know it… but, then I’d shove her into the water and tackle her. We’d roll over in the water and she’d stop on top of me, I’d look up into her eyes and then count each of her thirteen freckles again.
“She’d look down at me and her mane’ll be free to dangle and flow across my cheek like water reflecting the perfect sunlit afternoon, then she’d lean down-”
“Oh, is that so?” Starlight said just to stop the daydream, and Rainbow flinched, then blushed fiercely when she realized how far she’d gone with her thought. “Well, you know whatever you tell me stays a secret because I’m technically a therapist, and the same goes for Sunburst.”
He nodded. “Whatever happens in the Society, stays in the Society.”
Starlight hummed in thought. “Sunburst, have you ever actually seen Applejack here?”
“Huh, I don’t think I have,” he replied with a knowing nod, implying he knew what she was talking about.
“Hrm,” Starlight shrugged, “maybe she’s just a bit vanilla, can’t handle this lifestyle.”
“Applejack only has,” Rainbow yawned, ”a couple things she cares about, and sex isn’t one.”
“Are you sure about that?”
Rainbow mumbled quietly. Starlight and Sunburst turned her and saw her eyes were barely staying open. He held her steady while Starlight used her magic to roll water across Rainbow’s body; when Rainbow was dripping wet over the tub in Sunburst’s aura, Starlight wrapped her in her own magic and opened Rainbow’s Pipsub.
An orange mare yellow mane, wearing a stetson, looked at her from the enchanted window and with a quiet request from Starlight a warm and super comfortable robe appeared on Rainbow, drying her and sending her to sleep almost instantly.
“A hot bath put her to sleep? I should remember that for when she’s having a bad day at the school, right?”
“Yeah, it makes it easier than watching her fume or handle things impulsively,” Sunburst nodded and the both moved with Rainbow to the bed and laid down, one unicorn to each side of the blue mare. “Thanks for being with me, Starlight. I think this was one of the… most unique experiences I’ve ever had here.”
“You’re welcome, it was nothing.”
“Well, we can always make it something,” he waggled his eyebrows to the bemused mare.
“And you just killed the moment. You know I’m not doing that until I atone for my sins, not before.”
He let his head fall and whined, “Aw, what if that time never comes?”
“Maybe it won’t, but I’ll be here to help you cum until then.”
They exchanged a smile and Starlight started massaging his sheath, coaxing him out with a moan. “No, Starlight, I’m not going to help you break your oath.”
Rainbow snorted, reminding them where they were. “Right, also; we’re not in the right room for making a mess,” she giggled and brushed her foreleg against his. “I really care about you, Sunburst, thank you.”
He smiled in reply so Rainbow could get some sleep.
“-doesn’t she know? It’s so obvious!” Starlight whispered loudly, a hint of mirth in her voice.
Sunburst replied in a quieter stoic whisper, “They’re both as dense at cemented carbide, thus again revolving to my point of fact that they’re a great match, but just don’t know it yet.”
Rainbow groaned loudly and stretched, flexing her wings and getting a crack from her back that made her snicker. “That’s the stuff,” she said. She looked around the room and her eyes stopped on two ponies she knew, “heh, I kinda hoped that was all a dream,” she smiled weakly, at down, and tapped her forehooves together.
Starlight appeared beside Rainbow in a flash of light, she draped her foreleg over the blue mare. “Rainbow, it’s fine to be embarrassed, or have a little shame for being in love with a very close friend,” she looked at Sunburst, “trust me, I understand what it’s like. You have the chance, so go for it, you do want to take your friendship to the next level, right?” she gestured with her foreleg into the illusionary sky. “Imagine what you two could be together?”
“Starlight, I appreciate what you’re trying to do,” Rainbow shrugged Starlight’s leg off her, “but it won’t work. It never would, she’s a farm mare through and through. The best I can get out of her lately is a race or something. Remember when we had the team building exercise?”
Starlight resisted the exhausted sigh for a second before it escaped her mouth. “Yeah, I’m still working through that with one of the students. But, what’s important is that you came together in the end, right?” Sunburst snickered and Rainbow rubbed her forehooves together in tight circles while blushing. “Oh, you know what I meant!” She groaned quietly between the other two’s immaturity.
Rainbow Dash lowered her head and felt like hiding in her robe until she woke up from the dream she was in.
“Look, Rainbow,” Starlight moved around Rainbow and past her to Sunburst’s side, “we can’t make you do anything, and once we leave this room we’re going to pretend we never had this talk or anything about a couple hours ago, but just remember that if you need me for anything, I’ll make time to help you with this. I know a few spells that’ll guarantee our privacy, after all.”
Both unicorns lit their horns and their appearance changed to fit their previous look. “Uh, Starlight, should we go?”
“Rainbow, are you gonna be okay?” The blue mare trying to hide in her robe nodded and waved a foreleg. “Okay, we’ll see you later,” Starlight said with happy energy and then teleported them away, leaving Rainbow alone in the room.
She fell back with a quiet pomf into the cushion and sighed. “What would happen if,” she shook her head and the reminder that her farmer friend only had one thing on her mind ever since they met years before, and there’s no reason that it should change because of what Rainbow wanted. “Whatever, I’ve gotta get going, it’s probably ten and I have to get the weather set before my one o’clock nap,” she said quietly, “and maybe I’ll stop being such a big baby about all this and buck up like a big mare.
“You've known her for years, ask her out as a friend and go from there… it won't even be going out, really,” she said getting to her hooves and starting to do a stretch that she barely felt, “it'll be more like hanging out.
“Maybe I can,” Rainbow stood in a normal stance at the thoughts that were crossing her mind, “take this slow and play a long game.”
Rainbow groaned loudly at the fake sky and it turned into a desperate moan. She sat and wrapped her wings over her head, “Why is this so hard?!”
