Chapters CHAPTER ONE:
I slammed my front door as I stormed my way to my kitchen
"Of course to add to the shit sundae of my Girlfriend leaving me my boss decided now was the time to put a nice helping of fuck you cherries by FIRING me on this day of all the days he could have choose to fire me!" I yelled to the house as I looked for the bottle of Jack Daniels I had gotten for my 21st birthday.
"Well since my boss decided to give me the not so welcomed gift of no work tomorrow I guess I can finally open the bottle of Jacks my father gave me." I said as I shoved the bottle to my throat and took three big gulps Then the taste hit me like a train. I Immediately felt my face start to get warm. Then I proceeded to get shit face drunk. That night was chock full of more regrettable decisions and to finish it off I had blacked out on my couch with a bottle in hand.
When I woke up there were three feelings I had at that moment: A massive migraine, an intense feeling of needing to throw up, and the stickiness of last night's booze on my chest. I then bolted to the bathroom and proceeded to empty the contents of what I drank yesterday. after turning on the lights and washing my hands I walked past the frosted windows and to my bedroom. But on second thought of the frosted window I booked back to the window. What I saw was that there were no other houses and that it was mildly snowing.
"What the hell I live in suburban San Antonio?" I said as I proceeded to go to my bedroom to change into some clean cloths. I turned on the lights and looked through my closet. I settled on a Nirvanah t-shirt and a pair of jeans. I made my way back to living room when I realized that I am in the middle of a winter wonderland with no access to civilization, so how the hell was my water and power working. but my pondering on paradoxical questions was interrupted by a soft tapping at my front door and what sounded like a cough. I tiptoed towards the door and slowly creaked it open. I saw a kind of bug-horse creature take a step ,forward stagger a bit, and then fall sideways. I decided the only thing I could do was put a blanket on the poor thing and hope that it will wake up.
about 2 hours later.
I sat by the fire I had set up and checked my phone to find it, of course with no data.
"Well at least I have all of those downloaded movies and songs" I said as I looked on my phone to see what those songs I had bought. It was a good and hefty pile of songs but I decided to put on one of my favorites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BhhYcSwHQ4&list=RDMME9eLz4DrwF8&index=27
I sat there as the music roared but soon I felt a tapping on my shoulder. The creature flinched as I turned to it. After a good minute of just staring at each other I did a circle movement with my hand in which it took the hint.
"Sorry I am just not used to such kindness from other creatures." it said while looking at me with distrustful eyes.
"Ok I am tired of thinking of you at an it so tell me what gender you are and what's your name."
"We...well I don't really have a gender but you can think of me as a she and my name is Crystia."
"Ah so Crystia what are you exactly."
"Well those ponies call us changelings but are what we call ourselves are Astrofs."
"Ok so where are we."
"20 miles north from the Wall."
"Oooookaayyy then well where did you come from."
"th...th..the slave mines just North-West o..of here." She then started to break down in front of me and started muttering about her family and how she abandoned them.
"Hey shh shh its ok you know what how about we go and save them and everybody else enslaved in that mine because well I just find the idea of slavery abhorrent" I said with a cheeky smile
"But how are you going to that you're just one creature and there are thousands of those damn dogs?" I started to sit up as she said that and walked towards my garage.
"Well there three things where I come from is known for"
" And what's that." she said as I started to turn on my garage lights.
"Guns, Booze, and fast cars" I said as my lights revealed full of equipment to show those dogs whose alpha around here. we stepped into my East German 1959 GAZ 69, l made sure it was full of fuel and turned around to talk to Crystia
"Okay Crystia I am going to go and deal with those dogs if I don't come back in 3 days then there is food in there to last for months but don't worry I will be back in no time." In which I closed the door started the engine and booked it toward where Crystia said the slave entrance was.
I stopped the car a good 20 feet from the entrance of the slave mines and behind a hill. As I got ready I locked the doors behind me and loaded my shotgun with 8 shells. I placed the other 82 in my backpack. Then I started to walk up and over the hill, and towards the two dogs guarding the entrance.
"Haha look at that runt walking towards us tell me Hus should we just kill it or try to make it work for us" it said to its partner
"Hmm this weakling doesn't have that much muscle so I say we kill it then eat it "
"HAHA yes that sounds like a wondrous idea Hus” the dog said as they booked towards me. little did they know that the stick I was carrying had enough firepower to make their heads look like mashed beats. I pulled the trigger which caused the first dog to drop dead almost instantly. Then the dog that was behind him fell onto the ground tripping right to my boot.
"I am your damnation" I said as I pulled the trigger. I left that dog for the snow to take him and went to the entrance. But as I walked through the corridor it was almost hauntedly quiet. I Then walked to the large chamber. What I saw shocked me. hundreds no thousands of creatures enslaved in this labyrinth. I shot the roof of the large cavern to get the attention of everything in the cave.
"Hello for all those who are enslaved this will be the day of freedom and justice." I yelled to all the enslaved and the slavers pausing for effect "and for all those who are the slavers if you resist you will be mowed down into a fine pulpy paste." I proclaimed to all of the beings in the Pitt. Then I felt a massive presence behind me.
"Okay kid I like your spunk, but you need to backup those words with action. How about we fight to the death down in the arena if you win you get a claim over all of this." He spun his 4 digit hands around as he spoke and at the end of the sentence he pointed back at himself. "But if I win then I get your little gadget there" while he said this he had a Cheshire grin that said he knew that he was going to win
"Okay I accept" I said as I shook his paw.
"HA I know I would like you. Now what's you're name kid"
"My names David"
"Okay David now know there are only two rules in this ring. The first rule is that you can have any weapon you like including that thing"
"Shotgun it's called a Shotgun"
"Yeah and for rule two you have to know is that its not over till one of us die"
"So when will this death battle be happening"
"Today at the sound of the second to last bell and until then I shall show you to the room you will be resting in." he said and then turned to one of his slave, a creature that looked like a griffin from mythology and a female one at that. I followed the "griffin" to another section of the caves. When we got to the room I saw that it was actually pretty nice but knew that it was most likely built on the backs of these slaves. When she left I locked the door behind him then sat on my bed with shotgun by my side and tried to get some rest before the big fight. I was awoken from my short rest by the sound of hooves on steel. I checked to see if I still had everything on me. When I found that there was nothing was out of order I promptly got up and walked to the steel door that made up the entrance. When I opened the door and looked back and forth. I saw a frail looking Astrof standing there. What looked like a he beckoned me forward and towards a gate. After following him for about 3 minutes we ended up at a gate with two dogs guarding it in which again nodded his head towards one of the dogs and the gate slowly started to lift.
"So where is this arena your leader talked about '' I said to the Astrof, in which he just pointed to a room. I figured that he wanted me to enter the room. So I obeyed and entered the transition room when I felt a sudden gush of wind as the gate slammed behind me. I then saw rows upon rows of everything and anything battle related.
"Eh I don't need any of that thanks to my shotgun" I said to myself as I walked to the second gate. As the gate slowly start to lift I soon heard what seemed to be an announcer
"hello everybody and welcome to the gauntlet. today we have two opponents in what is sure to be a grand battle. In one corner we have a strange looking creature going by the name of David." As soon as he said that the gate finally opened all the way and I waltzed into the arena with my arms raised above my head. In return for my theatrics got nothing except for maybe a cough here and there. I then noticed that the arena I had walked into was actually pretty clean, but had a giant grate in the center for what I guessed was to dispose of the losers.
"And to this side we have our supreme alpha" when he said that two things happened. The first was that the crowd cheered in a way that seemed a little forced, the next thing to happen was the alpha marched on out. I Noticed that just like me went out with nothing but a Scottish kilt on, but unlike me he had a giant war axe that had dried blood on it.
"And now it's time for what all of you have been waiting for, Its time for our glorious Alpha to destroy the whelp that dares challenge his holiness." Before the announcer could finish that last word that last word the alpha immediately started booking it towards me. I then fired my shotgun which had the impromptu effect of doing jack shit. That's when I started panicking. Firing shot after shot into the juggernaut that was heading straight towards me. After I fired about five shots into the thing before he finally caught up to me and swiped at me in a large arc. All I felt was pain in my stomach and a feeling of weightlessness. But my very short trip was ended with a very loud and very audible CRACK that echoed around the dome. From how I felt I knew that my ribs had not just been broken but annihilated. Although despite how my body wished it was, it was not over as the behemoth threw his great war axe. It flew in my direction until finally making contact. There was another audible cracking sound as my right shoulder broke in two. He then grabbed me by my neck. I felt extreme pain as my head was forcefully taken off my body. I saw him wave my head around as there was another round of forced cheers. As I realized I couldn't feel anything below my neck the darkness started taking hold.

The strange creature's head was firmly in my grasp as I waved his face around the crowd I got another round of deafening cheers from the audience. I then picked up his shotgun and started walking towards my trophy room. I then placed the weapon that had spit fire across my frame in a display case, Then I crushed the half rotting skull that was previously on the pedestal and placed the things head down.
-------Davids point of view---------
When I woke up my hand rushed to my head as I checked that, yes my head was still attached to my body. But then I remembered how I had died in which my body filled with rage and power, and my chance at vengeance would be able to be fulfilled as I saw the "griffin" from earlier walk down the hall
"Where's your alpha!" I said in a chilling voice that would make the devil himself shake.
"J..j..just down the hall and t...t.then make a left turn." He said with a frightened tone. So I followed his instructions and ran faster then I have ever in my life. I then kicked the doors to his throne room off their hinges. That's when the tyrant dog turned his eyes towards me, as a look of shock and fear covered his face. I then proceeded to storm towards him and jump on him. I planted my bare foot on his chest and grabbed both his arms and begin to pull as I yelled.
"HERE'S DAAVVVVYYYYY" as I tore both his arms off and then crushed his head with his own biceps.
Then one of his guards looked towards me with the same face his master had just died with and asked me. "W..w..what are you."
"I'm the king baby" I said as I proceeded to black out

CHAPTER 2: Claustrophobia
CHAPTER 2:
I woke up in a bed that was three sizes bigger then me. I looked around to see a new pair of clothes near the frame of the bed.
"how the hell did I get here last I remember I was in the arena and then I-" then it all came back to me as I remember what had happened. I immediately rushed out of the bed and put on the new clothes. I then swung the door open to the middle of a conversation between a what looks like a minotaur and that same griffin, but this time she is wearing my shotgun while over a table, with a set of five crystals occasionally saying what sounds like reports.
"- And all we need is the new alpha oh well speak of Cerberus here he is." The female griffin said as she turned towards me and I immediately asked
"how long have I been asleep."
"Are you referring to after the arena or after you killed that tyrant?"
"Id prefer if you go in order"
"Okay so after the arena you were gone for two weeks."
"WAIT hold up what do you mean two weeks oh shit poor Crystia she must be so scared."
"Wait you know Crystia?"
"Yeah why?"
"Well because there is a small settlement to the south-east that's led by someone by that name."
"I gotta go there and now!"
"Wait you can't just leave!" She stuck out her claw to stop me but I swatted her away.
"And what's stopping me!"
"Well the fact that we are fighting in a revolution!"
"What do you mean "fighting a revolution"?"
"I mean that ever since you went unconscious about 5 hours ago we the slaves have been fighting for our rights, against those who claim that you are not the rightful ruler and I can't fight with this broken weapon unless you want me to use it a club!" She swung the useless weapon around for emphasis.
"Well have you tried reloading it"
"....huh?"
"Of course you haven't, now if I could get to my backpack I could reload it."
"Well where is you're backpack?"
"It should be on my original body before I got you know." I slid one finger over my neck.
"Ah of course it has to be there because this can never be easy! -sigh- Well all my solders except for the three of us are busy trying to win the mines and their main F.O.B is in the arena and the adjacent areas which includes the main path"
"So we have to fight our way there?"
"No because that would be essentially suicide."
"I feel a but coming up"
"Okay yes while that path is a no go there is a secret path to the dumping room but only one person can fit and Tou over here can never fit in that narrow of a space, and with those damn dog using TNT to blow up our soldiers there is a possibility of that narrow cave collapsing in on its self"
"And?"
"And AND what do you mean and its! -sigh- Okay well it is the best path to winning this war so Tou lead him to the private armory and grab a suit of armor that fit him best and a dagger and meet us at the throne oh and take this." she tosses me the shotgun "if you survive go and show those mutts who the real boss is around here"
Tou grunts and starts to lead the way. I follow him easily and we enter the private armory, in which I find armors of all sizes but none that quite fit me. Tou grunts again and points to selection of weapons then leaves to go and assist the griffin. I quickly find the only armor that fits me which takes longer then we have. In all I have a pair of knee braces, chainmail, a slightly too big chest piece, and pair of elbow braces. I speed walk to the throne where Tou has finished pushing it to the side. It reveals a hole slightly bigger then myself .
"Okay so just follow that path straight to the dumping pitt and we will close the way behind you. Just remember this pattern to have us open the path." She curls up her talons knocks twice on the stone and after three seconds knocks again
I nod my head in affirmation and sling the shotgun over my back. I then squeeze my way through the hole and plop through into the dark corridor. I move about three steps forward and hear the path behind me close. I tip toe my way through the dark passage every thirty seconds or so the entire cave would shake as the dogs blow this entire place atop of themselves. Only noises I can hear are my pounding heartbeat, the occasional distant boom, and the sound of loose rocks. But my silence is ended when I hear pawsteps and a faint blue glow.
"Yeah ok so I sneak up on the leaders and the thing unawares and attack them.... okay maintaining radio silence if you don't hear me within 30 minutes you blow this whole tunnel up ..... okay maintaining silence until the job is done."
My eyes bulge open as the faint blue aura goes away and I hear the sounds of paws on rock inch ever closer. I start to panic as I try to think about what I can do. I ponder whether I should hand myself in, no he had orders to kill me as well so that only leaves one option, to try and kill it before he gets a chance to call up his buddy's, and try to rush there before they have a chance to blow me up. So I grip my dagger and prepare myself. one step, another step, and another step, and... silence. NO did he discover me, is he about to call his friends? I wait for what feels like a eternity. but I never see the blue aura. I hear claws against stone and him muttering something to himself. I continue waiting for him. I wait until I can feel his breath on my hand. He then stops just inches from the dagger and I feel him sniffing the air. NOWS MY CHANCE I jab my dagger into throat and land on top of him. I stab his throat until I can't feel his breathing and for good measure I toss his helmet a foot ahead of me and put my hand in front of his mouth. I feel no breath so continue on forward but faster. I keep walking but even faster but after a good minute of walking I realize what I have done. I have just killed a sentient being. Jesus Christ I just killed a sentient being. I mean I was going to kill the alpha but he had challenged me. I I I have to focus there is no time for existentialism or else they will kill every thing in this cave, and then will go on to kill Crystia and I cannot have that. She is like a child to me and I will never let those monsters kill her, or worse. I start speeding down the tunnel not caring whether or not I harm myself but only focusing on the thought of if I fail, nothing will change.
I finally get to the entrance to the dumping pitt and immediately start looking for my backpack. I find it almost instantly due to the bright blue color on it. I slosh to the backpack and take out the shells and start loading my shotgun. when I'm through the fifth shell I hear a door opening.
"Be careful bitches there was a sound down here, and the true alpha thinks that the idiot we sent up there was ambushed so guards up pups we might have to prove our mettle." As he said that I finished loading my gun, crouch in the what I hope was just blood and wait for them to step into my trap. They open the door and and what in totals three walk into mess. I wait until all of them step into the puddle. Then I cock my gun and open fire. One shots, Another shot, a third shot, and a fourth shot and all of the dirty dogs are on the ground. I reload my gun and cock it once more. I then put about 5 shells in each of my pockets. Then I put the box back into my backpack and walk to the doorway. As I walk past the door I notice a faint blue light and faint whispering.
"Let them come" I say in a voice so chilling that it made the solider piss his pants.
The "true" Alpha's POV
I walk around as I paced around the table. I tapped my chin as I wait for the guard to finish his report. But whatever the lieutenant was going to was interrupted.
"Let them come" Every dog in the room turned a shade paler. It sounded like the thing but it was filled with vengeance that made me pray to any gods up in the eternal paradise. But their was something in that voice I recognized. I know where it was from it was the mother to that changeling that I had killed, And I knew at that moment that, that thing cannot come up here or would be doomed.
"WELL DON'T JUST STAND THERE YOU BUNCH OF BITCHES BARRICADE THAT DOOR!" And at once the men did as I commanded and started to barricade the door. But it was for naught as the door was blasted opened. Then all my soldiers started fleeing.
"NO DON'T JUST FLEE DEFEND YOU'RE ALPH---!" I was so busy yelling at my underlings that I didn't notice that the thing point his hand cannon at me and fire. I felt a burning pain as I stumbled back into the table. Soon the thing was standing on my hind paws. I made the mistake of looking into his eyes and saw glowing red eyes that will follow me into the grave.
"w..w..what are y..y..y..you" I managed to stumble out as I looked straight into the barrel.
"I am hell given form, I am the dammed who weep for vengeance, AND I AM YOUR DAMNATION!" And then I saw nothing as my greymatter was splattered onto the table behind.
Davids POV
I stumbled backwards after my power trip ended and before I could process what had just happened I heard the griffin on the balcony speak.
"YOU'R "ALPHA" HAS PERISHED BOW BEFORE KING DAVID!" She yelled down upon the dogs in which they obeyed. Then soon after the griffin glided down with Tou following her lead by jumping down from the balcony making a noticeable crater. She walked up to me and gave the corpse a punch.
"Heh deserved way worse then this but hey you know what they say "we get what we can get on this side of the border." but anyway what's your plan now that this is over"
"H..uh oh yeah right well I am going to go check on Crystia and then plan what we are going to do"
"Oh you still want to do that I warn you that path is about 4 to 7 hours away depending on how fast you are going?"
"I have my ways to make that into a 15 minute journey."
"Heh I wouldn't doubt it"
"Hey wait I want to go with you as well"
"Sure and I am guessing he wants to come as well" I said pointing towards Tou in which he responded with a grunt and started walking towards me, and as we started to walk to the exist I realized something
"Hey by the way I never got you name"
"Oh yeah I guess I forgot about it in all of the commotion, yeah my name is Gilda"
"ah well Gilda I hope you are ready for one hell of a ride"
"Please I was born ready." So we walked towards the exit and before I left I wondered what will this new life be like. Little did I know that this a was the beginning. The beginning of what you may ask. Well the beginning of a
REVOLUTION
CHAPTER 3: The beginnings of a new era
CHAPTER 3:
I run to where I had parked my car, but all I find is another hill of snow .
"If this is you're secret that makes you travel so fast then I am really beginning to doubt your sanity."
"No its under all the snow which shouldn't be possible unless its been snowing this whole time?"
"Well of course it has been snowing this entire time that's just the kind of weather that happens past the Wall." I turn to say something in response to that but I shrug it off as begin to push off the snow. Soon I find the classic green paint and tan roof. I eventually get enough snow off to open the door and try to start the engine. It makes a loud guttural sound before finally turning over, and humming like a new born kitten. The face Gilda is wearing is one of suspicion but is shortly replaced by a look of disbelieve as I push on the gas pedal and shake off the snow. I get out of the truck and go to open the trunk so that my companions can climb on in.
"Well come on in" I say as I gesture towards the still running vehicle. As Tou gets in his weight makes the vehicle lower significantly but the car handles his weight beautifully. Gilda soon follows after him and we soon set off towards my house.
"So Gilda since we have this down time I was wondering. What's the story with you?"
"Well its not a long one I'm afraid, but since you did almost singleclawly save the revolution from failing I will tell you my sorry tale. It all began about 21 ish years ago with my parents. They were what folks around here call Equstrian born which you can figure out what that means by yourself. In my youth I was bullied a lot by those pony pricks, that was until I meet a certain pony by the name of Rainbow Dash." She said that name with a grimace on her face. "We were best friends in the young flyers school and we would always defend ourselves from those who sought us harm. But this wouldn't last as I was expelled shortly after my 16ith birthday as I wasn't a "valuable member of society" whatever the Tartarus that means. So I spent the next two years wandering from town to town trying to get a job anywhere I can find but all the places I went either never let me in, or if they did I got the stink eye and would be eventually kicked out once I had gained enough courage to ask for a job. But that was until I finally made my way to Ponyvile in which I finally met the one pony in all of Equestria that didn't shun me, she went by the name of Lyra Heartstrings and she gave me my first and last job as a handymare basically doing chores around the house and picking up packages for her. Well one day I was going to the market to buy some stocked up produce because of course they would when I saw Rainbow Dash again. But it wasn't all good as apparently I had gotten the ire of one of her other friends, and she wouldn't leave us alone for two minutes. But seeing as all good things can't last I went to a bakery for a party, But it turned out that "party" was just a setup for a "prank." well long story short I stormed out of the bakery embarrassed and humiliated, when I got stopped by the Equestrian Secret Service. It had turned out that the friend of Rainbow Dashes had gone and told that Lyra was a enemy sympathizer and that I was a "traitor" to Equestria, so I got hit with a knockout spell and when I had woken up I had a small pile of snow on me and Lyra was still asleep next to me. That's when a patrolling slaver group saw us. The kidnapped us and sold us to different slaves holds. That was when me and Lyra where separated and I have never seen her again to this day. But it was not all bad as on that very same day I met Tou over here, and little did I know that he would single pawly save my life." As she finished that sentence we rolled over a hill only to find that my house was now surrounded by wooden barricades and there were a handful of smokestacks billowing up into the atmosphere. As we approached my home I saw a group of mythical creatures group around where my car was heading. I parked the vehicle a few feet from the crowd and stepped out the now parked truck. As I walked toward the gathering I saw it part in half as I saw a Astrof that I quickly recognized to be Crystia run straight towards me.
"Oh thank thee heaven above I thought you had di-- huh?"
"What is it"
"It's just that I could have sworn that I had just seen my mothers aura."
"Wait back up a second what do you mean you can "see" auras?"
"Well see all Astrofs have the agility to see auras of any sentient creature and judge what emotion they are feeling based off of the shape of their aura like right now you are suspicious of what I am saying. But the strange thing about you're aura is that it has red tint around it, which shouldn't be possible because every creature should only have one color to their aura." she said as she scratched her head. "But all those questions can wait for later as I need to ask you two important questions. One what is your name and two why where you gone for so long?"
"Well my names David and uh -"
"Its because this dude got his head torn off and lived!" Gilda butted in
"DAVID people don't just get their heads torn off and live to tell the tale!"
"Well guess I am just that special of a guy." I said as I shrugged my shoulder. After a minute of trying to find something to say Crystia just shakes her head and looks back up to me.
"Okay then well I need you to follow me we have something to discuss." She said as she made the motion of follow me and guided us to another section of the wall. She knocked on the door and motioned for us to step back as the grand door slowly opened outward. Our trek was stopped soon as grey pony with even blacker hair walked up to Crystia. After few whispers between them that I couldn't quite make out the grey pony took a step back.
"ATTENTION EVERYBODY THERE IS A TOWN MEETING IN 5 MINUTES" The grey pony announced as we continued to walk into my house. We soon made way to my garage and waited for everything to surround . With in 5 minutes a varying sort of wild characters made a U shape around us.
"Ahem now that everyone is here I would like to introduce everyone to the person I have been talking about that went and liberated the Shire."
"Uh hello everyone its nice to met you all and my name is David so that all of you know."
"Okay thank you David now I know that up to now you have all been calling me your leader but I would like to bestow that honor to David over here." with that announcement said there was a rousing but soon Gilda interrupted them.
"HEY now I know you don't know him like I do but for all of your guys information David risked his life to make sure that my revolution would succeed and I think he more then deserves the title of leader!" The crowd stay silent after that so Crystia took her chance and started to speak to the crowd
"Yes now that we have gotten that out of way, David what should our first actions be?"
"Well first things first is that I think there should be a title for my position and I doubt any of you want be led by a king or a alpha." there was a general agreement on that." So I think there should be a new title and that title is Prime Minister, And with that out of the way I think we should assign ministers so that this isn't a absolute monarchy or a despot and for the first minister we will need a person who know industry so that way we can industrialize so that we have a chance at even beginning to hope for a mass liberation." As soon as I finished that last word the same pony from earlier made his way to the area I was in. He was then shortly pushed out and stumbled in front of me but then looked backwards in a look that said he didn't want to be up here. "And you're name is?"
"Uh hello sir my name is Industrial Hooved and well the main reason I was exiled from Equestria was because I gave my idea to two brothers by the name of Flim and Flam but then they betrayed me for profit and told the ESS That I was a traitor and since I had almost no bits to my name I couldn't buy them off like the brothers did. So I was exiled and well I have kinda given up hope on the the world being bettered by my machines, But if you would be ever so kind top give me the chance to bring my ideas to fruition I would be ever so humbled sir"
"Wait you said that these Flim Flam brothers stole your idea but do they know how to build any machines?"
"No sir I had only time to build an apple cider maker and once it broke down due to overuse they then told the ESS"
"Ah well that's good and on the topic of that Minister ship I believe that you are perfect candidate for the new Minister of Industry."
"Oh thank you sir you will not regret this one bit."
"I wouldn't it doubt but I will now onto the next topic of who is going to be the Minister of War and I believe whole Heartedly that person should be Gilda."
"Huh wait it's not that I'm not humbled to be in that position but why me?"
"Well from what I saw in the liberation of the Shire you can handle yourself in a war zone and you have no problem commanding troops around so I have no doubt in you're ability to lead an army."
"I I I don't know what to say but thank you and I will do my best at this new job."
"And I believe that you will succeed in every regard but anyways it is now time to pick a person who can listen to the people and be able to pick the best path for justice, so the person I choose for the title of Minister of Civilian Matters is Crystia."
"Thank you and I am humbled to be in this position of power."
"Okay now we need someone who can bring stability to our new lands and lead of team of people who can bring them to justice. So who volunteers to be the Minister of Security?" I looked around the mass of people but I don't see anything for a couple of moments. That is until a dragons hand shoots up and he makes his way through the crowd. "And what might your name be?"
"I am Muinter and I believe that I will fill that role the best seeing as I used to lead a town before a pack of raiding dogs destroyed it."
"Ah well my condolences and while I do believe that you would make a great fit for that role I don't you to let the fact that some dogs destroyed you're village tinge your judgment, as soon as I hear that you let prejudice against anyone and have them get a worse sentence then they deserve or gets anybody killed, I will have you immediately fired and replaced. Do you understand?"
"Yes sir and thank you sir."
"Your welcome, and now for the Minister of Architecture I need someone who knows how to plan and place buildings, Infrastructure, and defenses. So does anyone know how to do that?" I looked once again but I didn't have to look long as almost I saw a paw waving excitedly in the air and once I called him out he started walking to me. I waited until I could see him and then I asked him what his name was and how he could best help our new republic.
"Well me's name is Nond ands mes got tolds by manys thata me no talk good, but me has been given praise on me placings of stuff. Mes also had placed the walls with helps of courses but that no change that me be the one to puts it up."
"Well if that is what happened then I cannot deny that the wall you built was pretty well built, so I will give you this chance but if I find that peoples houses are collapsing in on top of them I will have you replaced faster then you can bark do you understand this?"
"Oh yes's sir me understu- understad- me gets this and mes thanks you sir mes will not build any bad things."
"Okay so now time for the matter of economics I need someone who is good with numbers and able to make our trade lines run as smooth as butter. So do we have any volunteers?" I waited but did not have to wait for long as a pony with a copper coat and a golden mane walk up. I then did what I had done with the previous Canadettes and asked for their name and backstory.
"Well mah name is Stinking Nicol and I got exiled to these here land after mah business associate Fifthly Rich had gone in his head that I was bringing down businuss all because I had said that he was gone and going to get someone hurt with his goshdarned predatory practices. So he had went and gone and told the ESS that I was going and blabbing about overthrowing tah government. But I was not I may have mentioned why do we have to go and build that there darn wall when there was an killing to be made here but I guess that was one mighty treasonous idea as they put me in one of them heretic wagons. Next I found mahself I was being forced intah chains and told that mah new job was to count jems, but once I had gone and heard that a few of them slave folk were planning on I escaping I had decided that was mah ticket on out of that there house of stone."
"Well given you're past experiences I cannot help but agree that you are the best fit for the title of Minister of the Economy, but if I find that you have been "cutting some off the top" to make yourself richer, I will first take all of that wealth and I will make sure you live in poverty, am I clear?"
"Yes sir and don't worry about mah trying to steal some of yer wealth I'm not mah old business partner."
"Good good now for the final matter before I dismiss all of you is the subject of what we are going to name our selves, and I believe that I have the perfect name. That name is the Union of Socialist Sovereign Republics and we shall have a vote on whether or not that shall be our new name, and we will determine this vote by way of raising yours hands." And as soon as I said that almost every person in that garage raised their hands. " And with that being said everyone except for the new ministers may leave." I waited a few seconds for everybody to leave before I turned to my cabinet. I then looked down towards the map pinned onto the table. "So now lets build a republic that will last forever"

I feel like I am pretty bad at writing dialogue but heh too bad for me because the upcoming chapters are filled with dialogue so yay for me. anyways any criticisms are welcomed as it helps my writing evolve and become better. oh and the chapterly link that's become not so chapterly here
CHAPTER 4: Dreams of a everlasting republic
CHAPTER 4:
"But before we do that we need to figure out what is our starting position." I said I glancing towards the map and motioning for someone to start explaining in which Crystia took her chance
"Well as you've clearly seen is that our nation is almost directly in the middle of the map, which also puts of directly in the middle of the Diamond Realms."
"Wait does that mean we will have to fight them?"
"No because the Realms doesn't care who controls the domains as long as they pay their taxes for what they control, and the earliest they will check is about two months away."
"Ah well that's good but since they don't care who controls what, does that mean they won't mind us expanding into our neighbors domain?"
"Yes but the downside to that is the Realms still want their taxes for all their domains."
"Which is exactly why we need to industrialize"
"Yes and speaking of taxes we need to go to each of the minetowns and inform them of the new change in leadership plus our new law that ends slavery which I seeing as that's the way they have always done things they might react violently so I would suggest a armed force go with whoever goes to the minetown."
"So we need to conscript a standing army, But other then that we need to find out what Domains surround us."
"Well the land that we took belonged to Bangroth which is why this section is named Bangroth's Domain. Next up and to our immediate west is Dunther's Domain which recently lost a minor skirmish to Bangroth so once he hears about us replacing him we will have to deal with him taking back his claimed territory and maybe even more, and I would say that it might take around 3 months for him to attack our lands."
"Ah so that puts a fire under our asses."
"While yes that is true we could always give back their claimed land which could make it so that they hold off for longer."
At the end of that sentence Gilda decided to chip in her two cents "Ok while that sounds good in theory I know how these kind of people think and just giving up their claimed land without a fight will be seen as a sign of weakness, in which they could convince the other domains and before you know it, we would have enemies at all sides!"
"Oh please all that you fear with my plan is what will happen if we go with your plan!"
"That's rich considering that your kind fa-"
"Enough!" I yelled which stopped their arguing dead in its tracks. "Now we are going to do this like a civilized people and vote on this mater, Ok?" I waited for a moment for both sides to nod their heads and once they did I continued. "Ok now everybody who votes yay on giving up our lands please raise your arms" As I finished I saw that two hooves and a holed hoove shoot up and immediately realized that it would be a draw. "Okay so seeing as it will be a draw I will put my vote on Gilda's plan and it is not because I favor her more it is because where I come from there is a saying. If you give them an inch they will take a yard and I feel that these people will see our new republic as a threat to their security and the status quo. So with that little ruffle over I would like to learn more about our surroundings, if you don't mind Crystia?"
"Oh erm yes ok so to our east is Thrognos's Domain which most of the people that are in this impromptu camp come from."
"So is there a chance that he will be looking for his slaves?"
"No most of us came from the most eastern minetowns and they don't keep records of their slaves because a lot of peoples escape every month so they don't bother"
"Ah ok well continue on then"
"So to the north is Zagroth's Domain which only thing of importance is that the ruler is a Zebra which means if we can convince her we can get her on our side but of course we would also need to convince her to abandon slavery which might be asking too much from her. Now to the south is what we call the Noid zone which is a area of land that if any one is caught in will be shot instantly by equestrian guards so it will be within our best interest to avoid that area at all cost, and that about sums up all the local areas is there anything else you would like to know."
"Nope I would like to get on to creating the constitution now"
"The Consti-what now"
"Oh it a set of rules that dictate how our government is going to be ran, which reminds me I have to grab a piece of paper to grab a couple pieces of paper and a pen to write all this down" I said as I stepped away from the desk and to my printer to grab some standard printer paper and made sure to check that the pen was I grabbed had ink in it before I made my way back to the table. I then sat the papers down in the center after which I wrote 'ideas for The Constitution of the Union of Socialist Sovereign Republics' I then wrote down 'Article One: the Government and their powers it wields.' then I put 'Addendum A:'. "So I was thinking that I serve a total of two terms each lasting a period of 5 years with the people being able to vote in a Prime Minister at the end of each term . How does that sound to everybody?" I said as I turned to look at all my minters, but found that they were looking at me as if I had gone absolutely bonkers .
Gilda was the first one to shake herself out of this stupor and began to speak "ARE YOU INSAINE?!? I mean seriously how can you stand there and convince your self that was a good idea in any form!"
"And what would you have me do instead, rule like a king?"
"Well that's much better then just a meager 10 years."
"Ok fine what if we made it so that the there are still terms and they still last five years each but a Prime Minister can have a unlimited amount of terms is that good enough for you?"
"Ugh fine I don't like it but I will accept it."
"Okay so now I will write all the idea's I have for the constitution then we will vote and ask questions, is that good?" I looked around and saw no objections so I wrote down the constitution, but half way through I had realized that we had forgot something, which was a ministry of education. So I told Crystia that after the drafting we have to find out who will fill that spot, Then a realization hit me. "Hey before we do anything else we need to find a basis for our currency"
Nicol looked at my quizzically and asked "what do you mean?"
"Well see if our currency is based off of nothing then there will be no basis for it and that will lead to run away inflation which in short terms makes it so that everything is too expensive to buy which is why we need to bade it off of some tangible thing that can be turned in for currency. I was thinking that we base it off of something like a rare metal of some sort."
"No that won't work because unicorns can just make it."
"Oh ok well that reminds me of another thing but we can discuss on that later. Now with the topic on hand if we can't make the currency based off of rare metals how about something along the lines of bread, does that sound good with everybody?" I took a second to look around and saw that they all agreed with me so I tore off a section of paper and wrote down what we had just discussed. "Ok now Crystia I want you to also pick out a person to be minister of Magic preferably a unicorn but anyone will do. So with that all dealt with lets get on to the Bill of Rights which dictates what the liberties our people have." And so we wrote down the ideas for the bill of rights. "And with that all done and dealt with I will adjust the wording in my free time but other then that is there anything else we need to go over?" I looked around to see that no one had any ideas. "Well since no one has anything to say I will say that Industrial Hooves I have a load of textbooks that will help you in the industrialization task and a generator right over there, that you can go and tinker with. Other then that you all know what you have to do, Meeting adjourned." After that I walked away from the group and towards my bathroom. I made sure to grab a towel and some clean clothes, Then I turned on my shower and let my mind wander for a bit. I thought about how I will be faced with a burden like no other, but if I can make a few life's better it will be worth it. I thought on how I can I live and make a better world that isn't burning itself. I thought about how life back home was treating its self with me gone and realized that since everyone I cared about the most is either dead or had left me I don't really have any attachments to my old world, but after all that I had realized that I didn't notice the time and quickly got out of the shower and ready for bed. I then fell into my bed and let the sweet unconscious take me, At least I though it would because when I opened my eyes again I saw that in a field that I could have sworn I've seen before. But I soon came to a realization that hit me like a truck. This was the field I camped on when me my dad and my mum took that trip to Montana, ah I remember that it was when the times were good just about 2 years before my mum suddenly disappeared. But before I could reminisce on the past any longer I heard someone was behind me, and before long they made themselves clear.
"Ah beautiful isn't it"
"Hmm yes it is but I have a question, who the hell are you and why are you in my dream"
"Oh please excuse our impoliteness we are the princess of dreams, or Luna if you may"
"Ok well that answers more then one question, but that doesn't answer why you're here in the first place"
"Well see its just that I felt someone new in the dreamscape and wanted to warn them of my "sister" before they go and decide to stroll up to her."
"And who exactly is you're sister?"
"Oh she is the, in my book, sole ruler of Equestria and her name is Celestia."
"Wait your sister is THE ruler of Equestria, the same Equestria that is notorious for being extremely xenophobic!?!"
"Ah tis the same even if I wish it wasn't so."
"Well you must have power can't, you know, make her stop"
"Alas we cannot for when we are in the waking world we are under some sort of spell that makes us dull of sense, but when we are of the dreaming world the spell looses all effect on us"
"Well since you can do whatever the hell this is called-"
"Dreamtroting"
"Yes since you can dreamtrot can't you convince the population to stop being so specist"
"Its no use we have tried but every time we show them the error of their ways they think that tis be some sort of nightmare and I can't help my self when I see them scared out of their wits I have to go and stop it."
"Damn well that makes my job harder ok look how about this, see I need information about what Celestia is doing and from what can tell you want me to stop her as well, so I propose that you try and get me info on whether or not Celesta is making moves, does that sounds good with you"
"Oh yes that sounds simply magnificent even though we wish we could help more but we understand why you're reluctance to give us more info, and just because of this wonderous new plan we will let you choose what to dream tonight!"
"Ah well thank you but I would like to continue with this dream if you don't mind."
"Oh tis no problem I assure you and thank you for making our true dream come ever closer to fruition" Then she left just as soon as she came. I decided to take joy in the fact of a peaceful moment that I knew would be hard to find in the future. I Just let the hours pass by until it all became a blur and all that remained was a single dream, and that dream was of

CHAPTER 5: Inaction is for the Inefficient
CHAPTER 5: Inaction is for the Inefficient
As I open my eyes and I came to full consensus a whole train of thoughts came into my head. The first and most important was my reactions recently, and how my reactions were off the scales. For instance I killed a single dog and reacted like a person would normally react but then just mere minutes latter I killed about 18 or so dogs. This made me question my sanity as no right functioning human being would ever have such polar opposite reactions. I began to question if I had Bi-polar or if that transition to this new land gave me it but even then it would be after the fact, and Bi-polar people don't just go on murder sprees just from their emotions, so I got rid of that theory and came up with a new one. I believe that somehow, because of me coming from a non-magical world somehow the magics of this world had effected me negatively, and made me change my emotional response to the world around me. But before I can continue that train of thought I realized that my clock had said that it was 9:30 in the morning, so I got up and got ready for the day ahead of me. As I walked out of my room I saw Crystia and a strange crème colored pony that had violet hair and a single streak of purple going through her hair.
"Ah David you're finally up, I found the perfect pony for the Minister of Magic care to introduce yourself." Crystals said to the pony and got a half attentive stare before she opened her mouth
"Hello." She said like she wanted to be anywhere else at that moment.
"Uh hello um care to say your na-?"
"T" she snapped back
"Okay then so why should you be the Minister of magic and how did you get here?"
"Celestia's school for gifted Unicorns, accidental insanity, banished."
"Well that was certainly fast but did you all already vote on this"
Crystal looked at me and started to explain "Yes we did and it was unanimous for her to take up the position."
"Ah ok well if that's the case then I can't help but agree with everybody's decision then welcome to the team T and I expect good things from you" All I got from that sentence was a mhm and her walking away from me "Well that happened, but on other words I need you to call another town meeting so we can best decide our plan of action for today, and I need to know where Gilda is so I can talk about military action oh and weird question but what have the people been calling this settlement."
"Ah they have been calling it sanctuary and well Gilda is in the back of the building and I will come get you once everybody is ready" I nodded as she finished saying that and started to walk towards the backyard. As I made my way to the backyard I could hear the sounds of fighting and when I finally came outside I saw that Gilda was sparring Tou, so I decided it was best to just watch them fight. I soon started to find my self getting more and more amped up as the fight continued on with every punch, kick, and block making the feeling show up more. this feeling keep building up until Gilda knocked over Tou, in which I shot and yelled "Yeah woo lets go!" In which I just got two blank stares in which made me blush with embarrassment. "Uh sorry guess I just got caught up in the action." I said sheepishly before I remembered why I came out here in the first place. "Oh yeah I wanted to talk to you about getting these mine towns under control." I said as she helped up Tou and started to make her way towards me.
"Sure how where you thinking of doing that?" Gilda asked while shaking off the snow that clung to her body.
"Well I was thinking of taking my vehicle and driving towards each town with a volunteer mayor, so we can show a little shock and awe before instating the person we choose as mayor in each mine town until we can hold elections for each mine town which would be a whiles away."
"Ah I see so how were you planning to pick these "mayors"? "
"Well I am having Crystia set up a town meeting and then we will vote on the mayors for each mine town." Then as soon as I finished saying that, I saw Crystia start walking up to us
"They are ready for you David" Crystia said while giving Gild a mild glare, which I decided to ignore.
"Ah thank you Crystia if you don't mind I will follow you." I said as I pointed with my hand forward. It wasn't long until we got to the garage and I saw a whole gathering of various creatures. I made my way to the center of the room and I started to speak "Hello everybody today I bring you some news, As you can see there is a new member to our cabinet of ministers and her name is T. I also have three more things to share with you all today, Firstly I have decided that since that everyone who inhabits these walls have been calling it a sanctuary, so I have decided to name the capital of our glorious republics Sanctuary, In other words the second thing to everybody attention is that we accepting positions for the spots of Minister of Education and Minister of Agriculture which will be done while me, Gilda, and Tou go the mine towns, And on that topic of discussion we need five people who can read and write and able to speak fluently. Any takers?" I asked as I saw two pony's, two griffins, and a Astrof step up. "Ok well since we only have these people I guess these will have to do. Anyways everybody follow me." I said as I walked through the garage door and to my car which was in front of the front door "Okay so me and Tou will get in the front while everybody else will get in the back since Tou is so big and he wouldn't fit in the back with everybody else." I announced and immediately everyone started to get in to their places. I waited until everybody was in their positions then I jumped into the car and placed my shot gun on the bottom of floorboard, In which I looked at the compass that was on my dash board. "Okay Tou make sure you hold open this map so I can make sure we are going the right way." I said in which all he did was nod and open up the map. I then took off and started to drive to the position of the first mine town. Throughout the entire trip I heard the mayors talk to one another but never directly talked to me. It was that way through the entire trip until I stopped a good 12 feet away from the entrance to the cave, in which I stopped the car and hopped out which caused Tou and Gilda to do the same. As we walked up to the two guards they held out their spears
"Halt what is your businuss here!?" He demanded while still pointing his spear at me
"We just need to speak with your leader." I said calmly which made them turn to each other to discuss something and then the same one who I had just turned to me
"Wait here I will go get him and don't try anything funny or else my friend here will have to harm you" He said before turning to the cave and disappeared, until a few moments later he came back with a older looking griffin
"What do you Cretans want?" the Griffin said with a pompous attitude
"Well we are here to inform you that you're old boss is dead and I am the one who killed him, oh and that you are no longer needed in this position"
"HAH You and what army?" he asked mockingly in which I pointed the sky and shot my shotgun with loud BANG which caused all three of the people in front of me to look at me with fear in their eyes.
"Well see I don't really need an army because I doubt you really want to find out what happens to people like you who are in front of this blast here. So what I want you to do is follow my commander and if I find out you did a damn thing she didn't tell you to do well lets just say that you will meet you're boss in the pit of hell he rots in." I said as I cocked my gun and turned to Gilda who was wearing a smug grin on her face. "Gilda I want yo to take the prisoner to the car and alert that the first mayor should come up"
"Aye aye captain" She said with a grin still on her face while she took the older Griffin by his collar and led him him to the vehicle. She soon came back with the new mayor which was a Pegasus
"Now if you two guards would you kindly bring him to his room and follow all his orders" I said as they nodded to each other and started to lead the Pegasus down below. I then got in my car and did the same thing four more times, which in total took about 4 hours to do everything, and while there were differences each time it was basically identical. Soon though every on of the old mayors were sitting in the back of the car and we were in front of the open gates to Sanctuary "Okay Gilda you go ahead and alert the others of our arrival and I will deal with these people, before I make my way inside ok?" I asked as all she did was salute me and head off with Tou in toe. I soon turned off the engine and jumped out of my car. I then made my way to the back of my car and opened the back of the car, in which I made a gesture that implied I wanted them to get out. I didn't have to wait for long as all of them were standing in a half circle around me. "Okay so this is how its going to go, I give you all two options. The first is that you renounce your ways to slavery and debauchery and you can join our little community or you can face the wilds out there which I wouldn't like you're chances out there." I said as I faced them. They all huddled together and started to discuss about their futures. I distinctly heard a few arguments that were brought up and then squashed, But soon the older looking griffin walked away from the group and looked towards me.
"Okay we have made up our minds and decided that we accept your proposal. We willingly decide to give up our ways and join your cause." he said with a much less pompous attitude.
"Well then go on ahead I need to park my car and I will most likely meet you inside." I said as I left to go to my car and do exactly what I said I would do. I then hopped out of my car only to notice Gilda flying towards me at a high speed with Crystia chasing after her in a futile attempt to stop her from doing something brash. I blinked as soon the griffin tackled me with her claw around my throat and a look of pure rage in her eyes.
"WHY WHY DID YOU LET THOSE RAT BASTARDS GO AND SULLY THIS PLACE WITH THEIR FILTHY HIDES!" She yelled right into my face before Crystia tore her off and slapped Gilda
"WHAT IN THE NINE BLAZES DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING! Don't you know that's the person who just made it so we have a fucking chance at making the world better!?" She yelled at Gilda before I put my arm on her chest
"Its okay she has a right to be angry, and the reason I let them go is that if I just killed them without mercy what kind of precedent do you think would that send huh?" I asked Gilda
"I don't give a damn about the precedent we send I want them to pay for every wrong doing they have done to all of us!"
"Well I do care and I don't want to set ourselves as heartless killers who only react base off of emotion. Now if you cannot get yourself under control I will have to arrest you until you calm down. Are we clear?" I said as she looked away with a look of anger and embarrassment
"Crystal" She said as she walked to the backyard. I could only rub at my neck as I turned to to Crystia.
"So in other words where can I find T I need to talk about somethings" I said to Crystia as all she could do was give me a concerned questioning face
"Are you sure I mean are you okay you just got attacked"
"Yeah I will be fine and trust me I have faced off much more worse things then an angry griffin"
"Okay then well T should be in the kitchen and make sure you let me know if something is wrong ok?" She said as I nodded and headed off to the kitchen. As I walked in I saw T sitting in a chair like a human would and eating out of a bowl that had an unknown substance in it. I made my way over to her and sat across from her
"So T I want to know more about how magic works" I asked her
"Urgh fine" she said while rolling her eyes "What do you want to know"
"Well I want to know is it possible for you to create anything with magic?"
"No you idiot we can only make minerals by coercing the atoms that make up the air to form a thing and the more complicated the atomic structure is the more mana it takes to coerce them into shape, and we can't just make food out of thin air as it would not have the mana reinstating property's that food gains through natural processes" She said before lifting up her spoon with magic and eating out of it
"So how do you cast magic does it just do your beck and call"
"Wow you really are hopeless go grab me something to write on and I will explain it to you fully." She said with an annoyed attitude, so I did what she asked and came back with a pen and paper. "So magic works through two main methods, which are Harmon and Mana. Now Harmon is used through breathing and while it does use mana it doesn't need a mana pool to use, but instead it is used through the practice of breathing, and most species are able to use Harmon to fly, cultivate crops, and depending on the breathing patterns even be used as a attack. Now mana is most commonly used through application like horns which only a small number of species have, and the way we use mana is by using our minds eye to form symbols like this." She stated as she pushed the paper with a runic symbol on it "That should be all you need to know seeing as you can't do ma-." she started but was interrupted by me stretching out my arm. At first she scoffed at my attempt until the mark on the paper started to glow simultaneously as my hand. It wasn't long though as only mere seconds later my head started to hurt and I stopped what I was doing. When I looked back up I saw that T was just sitting there with her mouth agape and looking at me with a state of shock. "Luna above I..I..I have never seen anybody without a horn do that, I need to check something please hold still" She said as she lighted her horn that had the the same color that her fur did. Her eyes only widened after she cut off her spell and took the paper and pen. "I don't believe this you have a extremely large mana pool."
"So what does that mean?"
"Well let me just show you an example" She said as she turned the paper towards me and pointed out three rectangles with the top line removed. "Now see this one is the average mana pool for unicorns" She said before moving her hoove to a larger rectangle. "Now this is hoe deep my mana pool is and as you can see is larger then the average unicorns." She said before finally moving her hoof to the largest drawing on the paper. "And finally this is you, as you can see your pool is bigger then mine by almost ten fold."
"So does this mean that I can cast powerful magics?"
"No because everybody has a natural limit on how much mana they can draw. Think of it like a hole at the bottom of your pool that can open and close, while my useable magic is very wide yours's is about the size this pen tip."
"So is there any way to make it so I become more powerful or am I stuck like this forever?"
"Yes there is a way and that is through practicing magic."

Chapter 6: FOR THE MOTHERLAND
Chapter 6: FOR THE MOTHERLAND
I stand in the early morning air and as I take a drag of my cigarette I think about the last two weeks that have passed since I have brought the Minetowns surrounding us to heel and honestly a lot has been achieved in that time. With the industrialization brought on by Industrial Hooved the conquest of the Diamond Realms seems more like a possibility every day. I have also been practicing in my magic which has led me to memorizing the runes that make up levitation and I have begun learning how to form more combat oriented runes. There has also been developments in the capital as my humble abode has been added to and now is covered in stone, plus it now has three stories with a balcony that I stand upon. As I look upon this flourishing town that now contained at least two thousand people in it, my eyes catch a building that has a signature cross adorned on the top, then I remember how some of the citizens found my bible in which they connected the fact that I came back from the dead to the fact that Jesus came back from the dead and therefore made me their messiah which honestly disturbs me but seeing as they came from nothing but chains and hopelessness I don't do anything about their believes, but before I can reminisce any more about me being an icon of faith I hear the classic hoove on stone that draws my attention behind me.
"Prime Minister David sir I come bearing summon from the Minister's of War, Industry, and Magic respectively." The assistant said before raising her hoove to her face in a salute.
"Thank you Paper Lens tell them that I will be down in a mere moment" I said dismissively waving my hand towards her general location in which she immediately turned around and sprinted down the stairs. I then snuffed out my cigarette, put the part I didn't finish back into its carton, and adjusted the tie on my suit as I made my way to the doors that adorn the war room. As I stand in front the the doors I can distinctly hear the arguing that often emanated from the war room and immediately it is silenced as I open the doors to see a room full of saluting creatures. "as you were" I say as I sit upon the chair.
"David I was just explaining to Gilda over here that we cannot possibly equip every division with the new Engine Cabs MK 1 and that we have to wait at least 3 months for the demands of her troops to be met." Industrial says as he gives Gilda a mean glare in which she responds with a slam of claw on the desk.
"AND I was explaining to Industrial over here that time is not a resources we have in abundance and that we have to move now or the Diamond Collective will unite and send a entire army on our doorsteps!"
"Oh of course yeah and you're telling me that they will also have an entire army that are equipped with Boomsticks and lasers from outer space."
"No but you surely are not oblivious to the fact that they still outnumber us and you're Boomsticks take a full minute to reload which leaves us open to mass horde tactics?"
"But we can easily over come that downside with our Engine Cabs!"
"Then why can't we use them in our attack HUH?"
"Because as I have told you before they are not ready for field use!"
"That a bunch of bulls-"
"ENOUGH!!" I yell out. "Now Industrial Hooved are the engines built"
"I mean yes they are but there are two main problems which are, that there aren't enough to equip every division and that they haven't been tested." he say as Gilda snorts in which I promptly ignore and continue on.
"Well first off as Gilda said we don't have the luxury that is time so we have to use the Engine Cabs in their current, which brings me to the main point of how many are actually in working order?"
"Well currently there are about 12 EC's that meet the passed the minimum requirements for field use and each can hold about 9 to 15 people depending on who get's in"
"Hmm well that gives me an idea but Gilda I need you're input on weather or not we can do it" I say as I look at Gilda and in a gesture of her claw she motion me to state the plan. "Well if we only capture the capital wouldn't that give us claim to the entirety of Dunther's Domain?"
"I mean yes but there are still the Minetowns we have to worry about"
"Hmm okay then, here's my plan. We focus all of our troops on taking the capital and then we will take all the surrounding Minetowns with a group is left behind to ensure that peace is ushered in." The two Ministers look at me in astonishment and then almost immediately Gilda looks down to the map and then started mumbling to herself as she moved wooden flakes around
"HAHA yes that will work I cannot believe I didn't think of it earlier!" Gilda said as she snapped her claws and startled both me and Industrial. "Although the main question is who will be put on this military campaign?"
"Well are the divisions and their leaders chosen yet?"
"Yeah they are why?"
"Well I was thinking that I will leave them and in turn you to decide on who goes while staying here to fill out some paperwork."
"Oh okay then." Gilda said with a slight grumble after ward but immediately thought of something as she looked back towards me. "Well can you at least give a speech before we leave to inspire the troops?"
"That sounds good, what time where you thinking"
"How about noonish"
"That sounds good" I say standing up and look to the three people who are currently in the room. "Alright are there any other complaints" I said as I waited but all of them all said things along the line of no. "Okay well then I will take my leave and I will see all of you at the 11:50. Dismissed." I said as I walked past the door and down into my office/bed. I then took the pile of paperwork that sit in a pan that said "ND" which made me thought of how wood was attained.
I remember the first thing I thought when I was told that the tree's here bleed lava when cut. I later learned that the said tree was in fact called a Ember bark which honestly maid sense although turn's out these Ember Bark's make more sense once you really think about it. I then remember how I was told that these Ember's have a crystal like core that ran through out the entirety of the seeable tree that, while luke-warm while it was growing, once it stopped the Ember would emit more and more heat, so once its grown to 7 feet it focuses on absorbing cold air around it so that doesn't overheat and kill it's self. The most interesting part about this tree is that instead of dying when cut down, they would grow back from pieces as small as an inch although they do need loose soil or snow to grow and would not start growing until said conditions were met, but it would still emit ever increasing heat. My mind then wandered to the most interesting part about these said trees, which was that the "bark" that they were made of isn't actually bark, but instead is a carbon byproduct of the tree that then surrounds the core, which is how you can tell if an Ember Bark is fully grown yet, because if the bark is spongey then it has not grown to where it emits constant heat and if it is bark like then it is fully grown because the heat burns the carbon substance. I then remember that I forgot to thank T for informing me of all of this.
I am so distracted by my thought's when I finally notice that the clock had 9:37 plastered on its digital face I am shocked to see the 15 minutes have past which snaps me out of my wandering thoughts and I go back to looking over the papers. The paper range from farm land allocation coming from the Ministry of Agriculture by the minister, a Earth Pony known as Flaming Apple, Education demand's from the Minister of education, which is a Astrof named Flowex, and a demand from Industrial begin testing on a flame thrower he dubbed a "smokestack" that use's a Ember Bark shard an a bit of magic to produce a flame thrower that will never run out of fuel in which I gladly approved. This continued until I am interrupted by an alarm that tells me that it is currently 11:05 in which I stand up and make my way to stage that stood upon a new wall that gave the city itself plenty of room to grow.
I make my way out of my house turned castle and find me a tram that lead's to the military district. As I get on the tram I notice that all the people's on said tram look at me with admiration and some even get up to shake my hand or get an autograph in which I happily do until I notice my stop and get off of said train. I look to my watch to see that just about 25 minutes have passed since I left although the walk to the place where they were setting up the speech took around 15 minutes in which I see that out of my ministers there only Crystia, Muinter, and T where there.
"Hey there David glad to see you're early as we-" Crystia started to say but was interrupted by Gilda landing next to us.
"Hey David sorry I was busy telling the generals what they are to do for the speech." Gilda said as she fluffed her wings a bit.
"Hey Gilda can you tell me which Ministers are going with on the campaign trail?" I said as I remembered the conversation from Earlier
"Oh yeah well so far only T, Industrial, and Myself have volunteered to join in the march."
"Ah alright good to know." I said as I made my way to the room that has the stairs to the podium and as I waited I saw all the Ministers slowly trickle in until Industrial Hooved made his appearance at 11:53 in which we all stood around until finally at 11:56 we heard a familiar song start playing as I recognized it as the anthem of the Prime Minister. As soon as the song reached the two minute mark the Ministers made their way out until at the 2:32 mark I made my way to the podium and as soon as my hand's were pressed on the polished wood the song ended and I looked upon the crowd and made my announcement.
"Comrades today we sit at the precipice that will decide what we as a nation will stand for. Today as you brave soldiers march into the fires of an unknown destiny we must decide why we fight. Do we fight for simple land grab, do we fight for dominance, Do we fight to enslave one race below others! NO!! We fight for liberation, we fight so that we can ensure freedom to those within our borders, and we fight so that red banner can wave on!" I pause so I can breathe and then continue on. "But we must remember who our enemy is. Some may say that the enemy is the diamond dogs who enslaved us so, or some might say might say that the enemy is anyone who dare enslave their fellow person, I say that while all these answers are right in a sense those are not our true enemies. For the true enemy is the one who built these walls. it is one who enforces a rule that excludes the weak, the tired, and the huddled masses. It is the one who sits on her thrown thinking that she is a god and that the workers must be slaves to her or be exiled to certain doom. The enemy I speak of is Celestia and all of those who claim to uphold that false ideas of Harmony for her idea is a damnation to the word itself, for we know that the true harmony is Communism, democracy, and freedom for all. Thus I know that every one of you will do their best to ensure that harmony remains and that red flag that flows so proudly behind me will stand now and until the end of time! OOORAAWW" I stood back as the ooorawws tore through the solders and I as the National Anthem started playing yelled I heard a call rise from the departing troops

CHAPTER 7: Dreams of a new Dawn
I sat down in the room that was both my office and bedroom as I started paperwork that like any nation was required. I had apparently lost track of time because when I heard a knocking I noticed that it was now 4 pm.
"Come in" I said to who I shortly found out to be Chrystia. "Ah I hope there is no bad news"
"No no there is no news I just came here to ask a more personal question" she said in her usual shy tone.
"Oh well go ahead and ask away."
"W..well I was wondering if you had your eyes on anyone?" she said as she looked down at her fiddling only taking a moment every now and then to look up at me.
"In what context?"
"r..r..romantically." she said a nearly inaudible whisper
"Well I a mean between the magical training and the general nation building I have been doing I haven't even thought of that so I would say that no one really, why?"
"No reason, oh but look at the time I really do have to go!" she said before quickly leaving the room leaving me sitting there confused, but eventually I shrugged it off and continued with the workload until eventually I heard another knock at my door in which I repeated the same thing that I had said to the last interruption. I soon saw that this time it was one of the many military messengers.
"Sir we have a report on the development of the battles." the male griffin said with a salute in which I grabbed the piece of paper and saluted him back.

Request to have a support meeting and personal inspection of point ALPHA at 1300 tomorrow STOP
It took a little bit for me to process the information that was on the paper but eventually I looked back up to the messenger. "Tell them that I agree to all and good job on the quick completion of the mission." I said to the messenger in which he nodded, saluted once more, and left the quarters that made up my office. I eventually decided to order my self a meal and smoke a cigarette while I wait. As I smoked I thought with pride on how speedily everything was coming along but with like glass of cold ice water I thought on how the threat to the south was ever looming and that it could as quickly destroy everything that we have built towards, but the wild typhoon that was my mind was interrupted by the sound of knocking once more. I quickly told them the same thing that I had repeated two times before, put out my cigarette, and enjoyed the simple but filling meal while I continued on the paperwork that seemed endless. Like last time I had once again lost myself completely in the paperwork but this time when I had looked to the clock it was only 9:30 pm so I decided that I had done enough for today and let myself go to bed.
I didn't even notice the change as when I next found myself aware of my surroundings I was swimming in the old pond that had been near my old childhood home. I then realized in the next moment that I was dreaming but the sudden voice that soon followed only cemented that claim.
"Ah the simple pleasure of swimming is one I wish I could embrace in more often." A voice I soon recognized as Luna piped up from behind me which surprised me for I haven't seen her in nearly two weeks. "Although what is the meaning of the tattoo's on your back?" I turned around to face her with a questioning face, I then climbed out of the pond, and summoned a handheld mirror. I soon saw that there were was indeed a tattoo and that it was 13 orange feathers with all of them except the thirteenth being filled in.
"I don't really know why they are there." I had said but I had a sneaking dread that the tattoo was in fact in relation to why I had somehow returned after dying.
"Oh well if you truly do not know why the art upon your back is there then let us talk of another subject, but one that brings me and I hope you no merriment. It is about my sister and more importantly of her defenses. I know that she has a system that while not perfect in its complete control, leaves the common populace in a state of mindlessness that allows to take everything that Celestia says as always having been. This magic is being upheld by 15 towers that are scattered across the land and 6 pony's Celestia dubs the elements of harmony that represent aspects of "friendship and harmony" but only one pony I know that actually represent her element is loyalty but if she knows how accursed this system is or not I do not know. The good news is that the tower aspect of this defense is relativity easy to destroy as if one is disabled then it results in a feedback loop the disables all of the towers. The bad news is that I do not know how the pony's play into this system."
"Well that is certainty is useful to know but what I am asking myself is, what is the strength of her military?"
"From what I have seen it is relatively weak."
"Well that is good to hear."
"But the bulk of her defenses is focused on the two spy agencies she has set up which is S.M.I.L.E and the ESS. S.M.I.L.E is what she use's to control magical anomaly's that threaten her control over the state. The ESS controls what happens to any members of the populace that either don't or are unable to be influenced by the Harmony system, threaten the status quo of equestria via industrialization or innovation, and those who whether by accident or by purpose put the towers into danger."
"Oh well that seems like it would be a true hassle but I have been hearing a rumor about how you and your sister can control the heavenly bodies, that you turned evil and try to create an eternal night, and that you were banished to the moon is there any truth to those or is it all hearsay."
"No we do not control the heavens that is a lie told by Celestia to further her control, it is more along the lines of we gain power from the sun in my sisters case and the moon and my case. We gain this power when the said heavenly bodies are in line of sight so I recommended if you ever do fight Celestia face to face to do it at night. On your second and third question the truth is that I was sealed on the moon but I cannot, even in my dream walker form you see now cannot quite remember anything before being sent to the moon. Well not necessarily everything but it is like a murky pond that sometimes a memory resurfaces but it is all jumbled and conf----" she suddenly stops as she looks up at the sky. "We will continue this discussion on a later date for I feel someone trying awake me." And as sudden as she had appeared she disappeared from my dream. I stood there concerned but since I did not know how to force my self awake I just shrugged my shoulders and continued to reflect on the nostalgia.
3rd person POV, Canterlot Luna room
Celestia stood at the door to her sisters room as she knocked but she did not wait for a answer as she barged into Luna's room without hesitation. Celestia soon saw that her sister was still deep in slumber
"lulu wake up." Celestia shook Luna as she said that and eventually her sisters eyes fluttered open "Did you have a good dream"
"W.. w .. we believe that we t'was dream walking again but like all time before ta memory continues to evade us." Luna said in dazed way that could imply tiredness but was how she talked any time she was awake.
"So you say, so you say." Celestia said with a tone of voice that implied that she did not believe her sister but she chose anyways to continue on. "Well anyway it is time to reinstate your vow's"
"Yes tia." Luna said as she slowly got up and followed her sister without a second thought. The siblings soon made their way to a room that didn't look at all out of place. Luckily for Celestia she applied a sound dampening spell for it was not there then the sounds of Luna's anguish and pain would have been heard for miles around. While that was happening the being that made up Luna's subconscious and the one who David had talked to tried her best to protect what little of Luna's mind that remained free from Celestia's all corrupting control, but what helped her was defend against the unrelenting force was the

CHAPTER 8: Cloak and Daggers
Shadow woke up like she had been for the last 22 years of her life, with a start and at a minute before six am. She continued on to take a shower, brush her teeth, and get ready for work and all within 30 minutes. As she left she looked at her husband with two emotions fighting for control, one being disappointment that he hasn't woken up from the filter that affects to her knowledge everypony, the other being affection for even though he has not embraced the full reality that doesn't mean they don't still share a bond. The pony soon left the room and into the hallway in which she stumbled across the empty room of her daughter. At the thought of her daughter she was once again filled with varying emotions but instead of disappointment it was fear and hope. Fear at the thought that she didn't teach her daughter well enough to avoid the film of pacification and hope at that since she was in a vital position to that tyrants plans that she could possibly help dismantle the system. But she didn't let herself get too lost in her head as she trotted to the front door and off to the restaurant she worked at. While she was walking as she had as she done all the times she made this trek she went into autopilot trying to avoid the potholes from the recent attack on the capital. that continued until she ran into another pony.
"Oh I am so sorry here let me help you." Shadow said to the mysterious mare as she noticed that the mare had been carrying groceries.
"Oh no need I've got it but tha-" the mare paused as she looked into Shadows eyes with what seemed like recognition. "hey you know I go this book meeting and I think you would be a good fit in there." the strange mare said as she hoofed over a business card which only said an address and the words "every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 7 PM". Shadow tried to look around for that pale lilac colored pony but she was gone from Shadows view. She then realized that she still had to get to work so she booked it to her work place.
As Shadow worked away as a waitress her thoughts keep lingering back to the strange pony and her business card. On one hoof it could be the ESS trying to secretly subdue her as a reward for her 5 years of service with them, but on the other hoof that was not how the ESS worked while she was there and it could just be a normal book club which would help put her mind at ease. All of this thinking was put to an end when during her 15 minute break in which she smoked a cigarette in an ally she saw a pony walking across the street while looking around like they were being hunted. They continued like that until they were dragged into a different ally by two ponies. One of the the two ponies then looked out to see if anyone was paying a little too much attention but Shadow had already put on a face of ignorance. Once the pony who was looking stopped and went back to the darkness did Shadow drop her facade, but at the moment she did she decided to say screw it and that she would go the said meeting.
So Shadows day continued on from there. she continued to listen to ponies speak about recent event which more and more tended to the mundane as even the invasion of canterlot would not stick in the minds of those under the effects of whatever the tyrant used to keep the populations minds off of horrific reality that surrounded them. She continued to work until her shift came to an end at 6:45 pm. At this time she would normally head on home but today was not an ordinary day as she made her way to where the address said to. The first thing she noticed about this place was that the place was in a ally, an extortionary clean ally that while normally would be nothing out of the ordinary considering recent events it made it stick out. The second thing she noticed was a metal door which other then a metal slot for a pony to look in and out of was completely unnoteworthy. Shadow took a look around to see if there was anything else of note, but as she didn't see anything she decided to go and knock on the door.
"hello anypony there? I am here for the book club." she said after the pounds of her knocking didn't get any attention. She stood there for a while until a colt opened the view latch.
"Do you work with ESS?" he said in a monotone voice.
"No"
"Do you have any loyalties to the crown?"
"No" she said before realizing what she had just said, which filled her with dread and fear but before she could do anything the colt interrupted her.
"Then welcome." he said as he opened the door. Shadow was confused at first but decided to go along with what was expected of her to do. "Please look to your left." The colt said as he closed the door leading to this corridor and she did as the colt told her to do and was rewarded with a runic symbol that she had never seen before flashed into her retinas. "don't worry it will fade." he said a he opened the door that led to larger gathering area. Once the symbol had disappeared from her vision she immediately noticed that the same pony she had ran into earlier was sitting on a sofa. The pony didn't take long to notice Shadow as well as she ran to her with a smile on her face.
"Ah glad to see my hunch was right about you." she said as she put her hoof on my shoulder and walked the only other door that was in this waiting area. "oh but before we get on with tonight's activities allow me to introduce myself. Hello I am Starlight Glimmer and welcome to-" she said as she opened the door. "the cult of Humanity!" she said as Shadow fully say the huge gathering hall that had tables dotting throughout the area and there were a good chuck of ponies and even a couple of zebras and griffins. At the end of the hall was big torch that held not fire but a rather large glowing crystal. and behind that held three red banners .
"What is this place" Shadow asked with confusion written all over her face.
"Oh well... oh I just remembered I never got you name."
"Oh it uh Shadow Mist"
"Right well Shadow this is a place dedicated to the two humans that have blessed our mortal plane. The first being the strong but kind Knight of Direwolf whose armor was sharp and jagged like a Direwolf and as dark the darkest night. The second was the knightess of Frozen North who led the armies of the said north to combat against Celestia. Now unfortunately both have failed against the tyrant of the sun but with reemergence of Luna we hope that signifies the upcoming dawn of the third human to grace our lowly life's."
"I... I.. I don't know what to say."
"And I won't tell you what you need to say but if you have any morality in you're heart you should join us for we are about to start."
"It... it's just that I am worried about my daughter and how this will affect her."
"And who is your daughter, if you mind me asking."
"My daughter is." she paused while thinking on whether or not she should say the truth or lie about her daughter, but in the end she was already committing high treason by attending this meeting so decided once again to say screw it. "My daughter is Rainbow dash." The moment Starlight recognized the name her face went through a whole range of emotions but what she landed on surprised Shadow as it was delightful intrigue.
"By the gods I knew I had a hunch but this.. this is Great. With you at our side we have a dagger aimed directly at the heart of both the Great barrier and Celestia. But this just reinforces my point tenfold in that you have any sparks of justice in your heart you have to join us." She said as she held out her hoof. Shadow pondered on what to do, but with instance after instance of injustice's that she is forced to face regularly and the fact that ever since she left ESS she has been living in constant fear of being sent to the north she quickly decides on what she is going to do. Shadow grips Starlight's hoof with a determined look in her eyes
"I'm in." Shadow boldly exclaims, and soon she too will be working with

A: That is because starlight has a couple of secrets that so far Shadow doesn't know of but will be revealed next time we jump back to Shadows world
