After a long but lovely night of caroling and gift giving and eating special holiday puddle, it was time for everypony to go home and prepare for Hearth’s Warming day tomorrow with family. This included Fluttershy as well. But this time, she had an additional, new, and fluffy guest by her side to meet her family in the form of the Winterzilla himself. While Zephyr may have a somewhat hard time understanding the Winterzilla’s situation, Fluttershy knew her parents would be happy to take in the gentle giant in. Especially, since he had no family to spend the holidays with.
Fluttershy did invited Discord to spend Hearth’s Warming day with her and her family, but Discord responded with “It depends.”
“Depends on what?”
“Depends if everything plays out as exactly as planned.”
And with a sudden snap of his fingers, Discord magically disappeared in a flash of light and he was no longer in Twilight’s castle. Fluttershy, in response, blinked a couple times in confusion. Then, she shook her head and took a moment to think about his answer. If she knew her best draconequus friend, his answer sounded like his typical, round-about way of saying yes. But, for some reason, Fluttershy got the feeling that Discord felt like he couldn’t say yes. At least, in that moment. Something was in his way. Something was limiting him. But what?
After Discord left, Fluttershy was one of the last guests to leave Twilight’s castle. The shy pegasus and the huge fluffy roden monster gave their hugs to Twilight and Spike and said their goodbyes to their two hosts. Fluttershy apologized to the alicorn and tiny dragon for Discord’s sudden exit before exiting out of the room with Winterzilla.
At the front door of the castle with Winterzilla, Fluttershy began to put back on her winter coat and scarf. But what the two creatures didn’t know that there was something in the high rafters of the crystal castle watching them from above. The mysterious entity’s eyes in the rafters was focused on Fluttershy. But, there was a good reason why its eyes were on Fluttershy. For you see, the stranger high above was our friendly Lord of Chaos.
Discord smirked in content, feeling that he was able to fool Fluttershy easily and keep her in the dark of his true intent. This Hearth’s Warming Eve has going accordingly to his perfect vision of a typical cliche romantic comedy winter holiday plans. Wacky but fun filled day spending it preparing for his girl’s gift, check. An over top but romantic gift and gesture that personifies the perfect gift for his mare, check. Getting a handmade but horribly made gift from his sweetheart in return, check. Getting an affectionate hug from her that was soon accompanied by heartfelt caroling, double check. All that was missing was the most cliche element of them, but the element that he was looking forward to,...the kiss under mistletoe. And he had a plan to carry out this element flawlessly. Why did he want the most chaotic version of a typical cliche romantic comedy winter holiday movie with Fluttershy? Well,...Discord hasn’t told me, the Narrator, yet. He told me to wait till the end of the story to find that out. That jerk.
Anyway, Discord was on top of the rafters on all fours, almost like an agile looking cat climbing on top of a tall bookshelf. He dressed was dressed in a familiar red, blue, black, body tight, Spiderman suit with matching mask. The mask had the iconic white patch spots to cover his eyes, but not his vision. The mask covered his eyes and cheek bones, but not his muzzle and beard. The mask also couldn’t hide his horns, in which one of them was sporting a small but festive looking mistletoe on it.
Discord’s time to shine came when Fluttershy and Winterzilla were heading out of the door. The humongous chilla creature offered Fluttershy to go first, but she insisted for him to go before her. The Winterzilla smiled and allowed himself to go first. When Fluttershy was about to follow after, Discord quickly flick his wrist out and made a long string of spider web. The long string of web rapidly reached and attached itself to the wall just above the front door. With a heroic yet determined smirk, Discord swung on the long string of web like Spiderman would and landed like a spider to the wall right above the front door.
Then, on the same long string of spider web, Discord hanged himself upside down and hastily sped himself down to Fluttershy. As he got closer and closer to the object of his affection, Discord prepared himself for the magical moment by closing his eyes and puckering his lips out. However, Discord was so caught up in hyping up his own romantic air that he didn’t pay attention to the sound of the string of web he was handing on slowly but surely breaking.
Just as he reached Fluttershy’s eye level...just as he stopped her in her path...SNAP!
“Ooof!” He shouted as he crashed upon his face. As smoothly as he came in, the sooner he flew straight to the ground like a clumsy fool.
“Oh goodness!” Fluttershy exclaimed with great concern, “Discord! Are you alright?!”
Discord groaned as he carefully lifted his head from the ground. He held onto his aching forehead and mumbled, “Ugh, note to self: watch ‘Into The Spider Verse’ for proper web slinging lessons instead of the original live action Spiderman movies.”
As Fluttershy was helping Discord get back on his feet, her eyes widened when she noticed the small piece of mistletoe tried to one of his antlers. Everything started to click in her head, and it was then she knew exactly why Discord didn’t want go and meet her family tomorrow. A soft pink blush gently formed upon her cheeks and she smiled at the draconequus. When their eyes met, Discord’s eyes became wide and a red blush quickly formed. He tried to search for the meaning behind the new and strange expression on her face.
“Oh Discord,” Fluttershy remarked sweetly, “if you wanted to come and meet my family as my boyfriend instead of just my friend, you could have just said so.”
Before Discord could even respond, Fluttershy kissed him on the cheek. Her boldness sparked a chaotic chain reaction within Discord. Hearts formed in his eyes, a pink fluffy heart shaped explosion appeared out of nowhere behind the couple, his body became limp and useless and thus flopped down to the ground, steam came out of his ears, little tiny hearts magically appeared above Discord’s head and started to fly around like crazy, his tail was wagging like crazy, his dragon foot was thumping madly down on the floor, and a goofy love struck grin appeared on his face as he took in the bliss in this moment. Discord couldn’t be happier to be the fool in this situation instead of the smooth Romeo like Spiderman. It was instead his sweet Fluttershy that got to be smooth and steal his heart within minutes.
Meanwhile, just a few feet away from the opened front door, the Winterzilla smiled and gushed over the romantic mistletoe scene taking place before him.
