Thrown away, cast from the room like a needle through the side of a balloon, Hope hit the solid rock hard enough to crack the wall, and still went through. He could feel several bones broken, his breath gone. Landing didn't help. Hitting the ground, and then rolling, Hope slammed into a tree, causing him to yell in pain.

It was like he were an ant, being ground to nothing.

As the red dragon approached, Hope felt the one thing he hadn't before. Fear. Fear of this god of destruction. Desterro.

It was then, his loving memories came to surface. He failed each one promise he made. The five friends he had, and the one mare he loved. He gritted his teeth, letting the tears flow. He had been defeated. Out of the many battles he fought, protecting others, he failed to protect even his most loved. His friends. Even the princesses.

He failed them all, him being the last survivor.

And now all he felt was heart ache. Now he was ready. If he never did before, he would gladly accept his death now. He was already defeated.

Like the unicorn he was, he had magic, with the wings the princesses gave him, he had flight. But no more powerful than any other unicorn, he was helpless now.

The dragon raised his hand, not even saying anything, and swiped it in front of him, throwing the magical death blow.

To Desterro, he saw it flash into the fake alicorn quickly. To Hope, it stopped, and he was flashed into his memories.
