Twilight Sparkle or Melissa Aurora Reading had been encouraged by the mayor to transfer to Eclipse High School for Gifted Students after building a hydroelectric dollhouse for the science fair. Resigned, she goes to the school and gets thrown in the midst of planning the Winter Ball.

Pinkamena Diane Pie or Mina Diane Pye is ecstatic to find someone else as organized - when it comes to parties, at least - as her. The bad thing is that the girl doesn't want to make friends - but there hasn't been a person yet whom Mina hasn't managed to break through to.

Applejack or Jacquline Sandy Smithson has volunteered to provide food for the event, and - against her will - gets caught up in Mina's quest to break through to the sad transfer student.

Rainbow Dash or Iris Deanne Lee doesn't like Mina much and likes Jackie even less, but when they propes to her a plan to help the new transfer student, she might find a way to get revenge on all those who have wronged her.

Fluttershy or Angelina Calliope is providing music for the Winter Ball with help from Sophia's little sister, Lucille. She can't resist someone in need, which is why she agreed to help the new transfer student. If only she wasn't so shy.

Of course, all of their plans go horribly wrong when a spy for the humongous Nightmare Moon Corporation kidnaps the mayor and they find out that the new transfer might have something to do with it.
