Spike, her reptilian assistant had his layed back against her side as he continued his peaceful snooze that he had decided on after he had finished with the apparently "amazing" buffet. Across from Twilight, Rarity and Applejack sat, sharing a calm and apparently rather interesting conversation with each other. And to Twilight's side sat her rather socially resigned friend, Fluttershy, who was kept in a timid silence, and Rainbow Dash who was voraciously digging into some form of small pie. Twilight rotated her head to the left gazing upon the beauty of the nearby natural grace; Whitetail Waterfall. The natural water-feature glistened as the midday sunlight caught the water particles as they descended from the mountain's top, just under half a mile above them. Past the top of the mountain that the waterfall fell from, Twilight could clearly see Equestria's Capitol, Canterlot Castle where her Mentor was most likely running the country by attending court, summits, anything that could keep Equestria at peace. -----x---)o(---x----- The freezing water of the Reichenbach waterfall pelted his body, some of the liquids landing in his ears and assisting his tranquility by drowning most of the volume that came from Moriarty's screams of terror as they plummeted towards the fast approaching rocks that lay in the Reichenbach's plunge pool. Even though Holmes had accustomed himself with his brother's respiratory device he knew that his chance of surviving the fall was miniscule. Moriarty continued to shake him with a mix of fury and fear as they plummeted towards the water-worn rocks at the base if the Reichenbach. Holmes shut his eyelids revelling in as much tranquility as he could muster in the last few moments of his well-renowned life. -----x---)o(---x----- "Did you gals' here about what that 'Lyra' mare did this Monday?" The rest of the girls turned their heads to Rarity as she started with more gossip, most replying with a small shake of the head. "Apparently she went walking around Ponyville on hind-hooves in Pants! With poor Bonbon by her side no less!" Rarity punctuated the sentence with an angry raise of her muzzle. "That Lyra girl gets weirder and weirder every week!" Rainbow Dash butted in. "I think that what Lyra is interested in is rather mysterious, I mean, what if there really is another sentient species that has technology that vastly outpaces ours!" Twilight interjected. While the girls continued arguing, none noticed the ominous glow come from the deep of Whitetail Lake. -----x---)o(---x----- Holmes opened his eyes, suprise and puzzlement crossing his features as he pondered his survival of sure death. Eventually however, he realised that he was in fact underwater and not holding much more oxygen within his lungs. Sherlock' quickly started to thrash as darkness formed at the edge of his vision before he quickly swam towards what he guessed was the surface. He clawed at surface before finally breaking the water and hastily filling his lungs with air and began to front crawl towards the nearest edge of the lake. Holmes quickly reached land and briskly pace into an area backed by trees and distanced from the water. A large mountain with a rather eye-catching waterfall stood out first before Holmes started to survey the other parts of the picture-perfect scenery in-front of him. The clouds were white and wispy against a bright blue backdrop with a Sun to the right. The trees behind him were part of an arrangement that formed a dense wall of log and leaves which surrounded the lake. Holmes walked closer to the lake in order to less obstruct his view. Glancing over to the left when he caught wind of a conversation, what Holmes saw was something that aroused a great sense of cluelessness within Holmes brain. Across the pond, accompanied by a spread of 'picnic' faculties befitting a rich family's daughter and her friends, was a set of five Shetland-ponies; multicoloured and rather mythological Shetland-ponies that is. What was even weirder was the fact that they seemed to be the source of the conversation that contained a reasonable amount of intelligence. Holmes turned his head back to the Waterfall, blinked, and turned his head back again; a frown forming on his face that for him atleast, the horses were conceivable as reality. Holmes quickly noticed one of the colourful 'ponies', specifically the orange one, had enlightened themselves on his presence before immediately pointing out with it's hoof to it's company their discovery; becoming awfully excited. Holmes then spotted the Cerulean one taking to the air with the butter-yellow one in tow, encouraging the rest of them to make their way over to him. Holmes quickly mulled over the decision of either being taken prisoner by equines of making an escape. He decided on the latter. Holmes quickly turned on his heel before sprinting through the foliage. -----x---)o(---x----- "Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy! Catch-up to it! We need to talk to this thing!" Twilight yelled before quickly reaching a gallop, running towards the West side of the lake in her chase after the mysterious 'thing', inadvertedly knocking over and abruptly waking Spike before picking him up in Telekinesis and lifting him onto her back. The creature was already making quick headway by the time Twilight spotted him, quickly galloping on hind legs towards what Twilight knew as Ponyville but suspected the being had no knowledge of his destination. Slowly Twilight and Applejack, Rarity left behind because apparently it would 'ruin' her hooficure, began closing on the being. It weaved its way between the trees, ducking out of the way of the multiple tackles Rainbow Dash attempted and occasionally deftly jumping over the stray root of stone. It appeared to be awfully calm, only making occasional grunts as it maneuvered. Eventually Ponyville started to rise over the hill and Twilight feared for what might happen if it reached there so she quickly started firing off weak stun spells in rapid succession of each other, peppering the ground surrounding the creature with purple bolts of magic. Eventually Twilight hit it in the area she suspected to be a hoof, the creature shrugged it off before jumping through the hedgerow into Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack and Twilight didn't follow, Applejack instead leading the earth-bound ponies around and through a gate while Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flew over and continued to follow. By the time they reached the gate into the 'Acres, the creature has gained a fair distance on them, clearly making for the Apple family Farmhouse. -----x---)o(---x----- The Equines were chasing him, and gaining no less. Holmes was having an entertaining time dodging the blue, what Sherlock guessed was, pegasus and the peculiar purple bolts peppering the ground surrounding him lancing from the horn on the head of the Unicorn. His dash was soon to be filled though as Holmes broke the last row of trees, nothing but open ground separating him and the house. Holmes continued his dash across before frantically knocking the door. Holmes to be fair, was worried, worried that he would be captured by the Equines. He saw the blue one swoop around again for another pass before he heard the sound squeaky hinges as the front door of the house was opened and he was greeted with a "Hello?" in a accent he had not yet heard before turning around to be greeted by nothing but a large red bow in the bottom of his vision before he was suddenly knocked forward into the stairs on the opposite side of the hallway. The last thing he heard was a rather dopey sounding "I got him!" in a rather raspy but feminine voice before he lost consciousness. //-------------------------------------------------------// It's always the welsh... //-------------------------------------------------------// It's always the welsh... Holmes woke, a painful headache forming towards his forehead and the sensation which he recognized as a few broken bones, where in his body he was unsure but he knew they existed. He could feel a heavy quilt on his upper body and a plump feather pillow behind his head. Something seemed to be probing at his right hand and his left foot, both hanging out of the bed. He slowly opened his eyes, being greeted by a plain, white ceiling and a bandage slightly covering his right eye. He quickly focused on something to the left and what greeted him quickly inspired Holmes to jump out of the bed and onto the hard wooden floor. "It's awake!" a female voice exclaimed before a series of echoing and frantic clops filled the room, his field of vision quickly being dominated by limbs of lavender, orange and blue. Holmes groaned on the floor, clenching his teeth from the pain of hitting a hard floor with several broken bones. "Um, Excuse Me?" A face came into view, a purple, not very horse like and rather concerned face. "Are you alright?" Holmes fought off the urge to open his mouth, play the act of a foreigner and they'll eventually give up. Hopefully... Preferably. "Excusez-moi?" He said, putting on a curious mask. Successfully puzzling the creature for a moment. "Is that, Prench? Rarity? Don't you know some Prench?" She said glancing over to the white horned one sat on a worn rug in the corner. "I'd have you know Twilight, I have a degree in Prench and I refuse to let it be squandered." She said, chastising the purple leader of the horses as she walked over to the crippled Holmes, giving him a eyecatching gaze. "Êtes-vous monsieur bien? Quel est votre nom?" She said. "Je ne sais pas?" Holmes said, noticing his plan quickly failing. The 'Rarity' horse repeated herself but Holmes quickly came up with another weapon. "Kann mir jetzt nicht verstehen? Können Sie?" Holmes said with a smug look on his face as he slowly got too his feet. "Wir können Sie eigentlich in Ordnung zu verstehen." The purple pony replied, smirking as she slowly trotted towards him. "Vad sägs om nu?" He said, reaching down for his shoes and socks before quickly pulling them on. "Jag kan." Said the yellow winged one, sounding very quiet as she did. Holmes stood up from his tying his shoes and circled round to the window, brushing the sleeves of his shirt down as he did. "Wel, roedd yn braf cyfarfod chi i gyd, ond Fi 'n sylweddol mae'n rhaid fod yn mynd." He said, placing a hand onto the windowsill and turning back to look at them. "Wait, what did he say?" The hovering blue one piped up, the group all turning to each other. Holmes let them try and figure out what he had said as he pulled slowly pulled his foot onto the ledge before pulling the other one over and onto the veranda roof, thank god for them putting him in that room. He looked back towards the group of horses and reached up to the window pane and said, "It's Welsh, just so you know." He then pulled the window pane down to the sill, looked back to the multicoloured horses, still standing gobsmacked at the other end of the room, pulled his hand up and gave them a quick wave before turning around, closing his eyes, and walking straight off the veranda. As Holmes passed out he heard the sound of feminine giggles and a powerful, female voice, that said, "There's an edge there." very smugly before shouting an order that caused plenty of hoofsteps to start. Author's Note I am extremely sorry for one the shortness of this chapter and the postponement of this chapters arrival. I have a lack of time and the damned "Writer's Block" yet again. Hopefully this still makes some sense and doesn't induce the melting of the eyeballs. I shall TRY to post more chapters soon, though I am afraid they shall all be quite short. -Teh'
