New Harmony

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It has been about a week since I started gathering leaders for project New Harmony, and it certainly has a few involved.

First was the griffins, who have been in a depression for the last few years, not as long as the changelings, but long enough to make them want to join the project.

Next was the breezies, who were much harder to convince due to their size, but after using x-magic to make them grow a little and increase their weight they happily joined up.

After that was several tribes of diamond dogs, who quickly join when I magicked them some gems.

Then there was several dragon groups who joined up when they saw potential for gold and other riches.

Finally, the hippogriffs joined after hearing from the grapevine what I was doing. They also brought the seaponies into the mix.

I would have gotten minotaurs, but they refused, saying they already had what they needed, and I can respect them for refusing, so I told them should they change their minds they are welcomed.

Now we were meeting up on an "island" on a map I provided them with. This island doesn't exist yet, because I was going to make it.

As I reached the location I specified I gathered my magic and went to work. The outline quickly formed, being at least 250,000 square miles. Now some would think, is that even an island? That land is for the actual project, the island for the meeting I'll build after. I filled the empty space with hilly areas and flatlands that would be easy to build on, and then I filled it with wild grasses and flowers to fertilize the soil a bit more.

Then I created the meeting island. It was easy to make the foundation. after that was done I created a huge marble building, looking like a mix between the U.N. headquarters and the Taj Mahal. I then filled the empty space on the island with flowers and other garden plants, and a pool in the courtyard leading to the entrance of the building.

Slapping down some ports was easy too. After all of that was done I just have to wait for their arrival.

Chrysalis arrived first, by steam boat no less, and boy did she change. Her and her escorts looked like post season six changelings, with Chrysalis being a creamy white with bright green highlights. She smiled as she saw me.

"Hello, it's great to see you again." The queen said as she approached me, I smiled as she did so.

"It's good to see you too. I can already tell you've been working hard since I left." I said as the cream colored monarchs eyes were filled with excitement.

"Those resources you gave us worked wonders. We were able to get centuries of advancement in just a week, i's incredible! We even evolved!" She said, making me raise an eyebrow.

"Evolve?"

"Changelings normally look the way we do now, the black hole filled stage is sort of an adolescence stage. We normally evolve after consuming enough emotions, but our situation didn't give us a change to gather enough emotion for us to evolve." The cream changeling explained, as I made an 'o' face. She then was escorted into the hall.

Next was the griffins, who surprisingly sent Gilda as their ambassador, she was quiet and simply bowed before walking into the hall. She is a lot more business like than I expected.

After that was the dragons, who sent a intelligent faded blue colored dragon named Korn. An odd name, but I won't judge. We conversed for a minute before he entered the hall as well.

One by one, the different ambassadors entered the hall, or as many have already takin to calling it, The Hall of Order.

The hall was filled with sound as the ambassadors conversed with each other, but the sound was quickly extinguished as I walked on stage. I coughed into my hoof and began speaking.

"Today we are gathered to make history. The struggling times many of us face have caused much strife, and some had lost hope. Now those of us who have suffered have a chance for change, and a chance to create a world that is truly beautiful. A world where griffins, changelings, dragons, and all species from all walks of life can gather and work in harmony with one another. It is with great honor that begin this historic meeting." I stepped of the podium as everyone started to applause.

I looked over to see reporters and news journalists from multiple nations write down my speech and take pictures as I spoke. When I returned to my seat Gilda spoke up.

"The Griffin Kingdom has agreed to sent raw ores and domesticated animals to other nation as a sign of good will, as well as to show that we will do all we can to help our allies." She said before sitting down. After doing so I stood and spoke into my microphone, which many of the others present didn't know what to do with.

"The Griffins will be compensated for their contribution, as well as receive economic aid for part two of the project." I said, confusing the rest of those present.

"As you have most likely seen on the way here, this island is not the only one here. The second island is for part two of New Harmony, which will be a joint island colony between all of the nations involved." I finished, causing many to murmur among themselves for a moment before Korn spoke.

"As the representative of the dragons I must ask why we must do such a thing." He said, causing more murmurs.

"It is simple. A group of colonists from each nation working together will create new insights and exposure to new ideas that will cause an age of mutual prosperity between all of those involved. For example, the griffins are known for their vast ore and mineral deposits, and the diamond dogs know how to use those metals in many different formats, such as creating collars and sometimes strong weapons. Am I correct?" A nod from both Gilda and the diamond dog representative. "The diamond dogs would receive huge amounts of ore from the griffins, which then share what they produce, as well as giving their knowledge back to the griffins, and the griffins are also known for their stone work, which knowledge for that can also be exchanged, and this passing of ideas and resources will provide an opportunity for inspiration." I concluded, to which everyone once again applauded.

The rest of the meeting went smoothly, and multiple trade deals and economic aid plans were quickly created. In the end we all put our signatures on a treaty detailing the project and the deals. During the signing multiple pictures were takin and all of the ambassadors left to speak of the agreement.

All in all, a pretty productive day.
