The Green Print Run: Race Start!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It had been only a month since Led Zeppelin had (supposedly) perished due to the actions of the princesses and the wielders of The Elements of Harmony. The lands across the world were happy at the fact that they were no longer in danger of eternal night, however the relationship between teacher and student has been very much strained.

Twilight has lived in the town of Ponyville for the time since the solstice, but has kept in contact with her friends and family through Spike and Smokes' magic fire breath. Her parents have accepted the events that transpired wasn't her fault, and had repeatedly told her so, but that didn't stop her from blaming herself.

Her friends didn't completely cut her off, but their relationships were very much strained. It wasn't until now that Twilight had realized how much her friendships were built on the foundation of her sisters more outgoing nature. Moondancer and surprisingly Cadence were the most supportive about helping her, at one point even offering to visit to help her, but Twilight suspected Cadence offered it because she was in as much pain as she was.

Surprisingly the mares who she had recently become friends with had become her closest emotional pillars, offering her empathy and care when she was in that first slump of emotion.

She had recently taken up to writing to princess Luna recently as well, who kept her updated on her mentor's emotional state, which didn't seem to be improving despite what her return to the public eye would suggest.

However a strange event has taken place, one that has grabbed her attention and has refused to let go. In Luna's most recent letter to her, her style of writing and penmanship had changed, slightly, but noticeable for those who had been writing to her as much as she had been.

She had eventually wrote it off as the stress getting to her, and moved on to begin her next week as a part of her slow recovery. That was, until, this moment. Large letters pictured a very huge event to her, along with pictures on two separate newspapers.

The two photos were of the version of her sister that she saw briefly before using the elements. Twilight looked up to Rainbow Dash, who had brought her the papers as soon as she found them.

"What?... I can't believe this... She's alive?" Twilight could barely even breath, much less form any sort of coherent sentence. Dash could only look back at her with a hesitant expression for a moment, before speaking.

"Well, I don't know if it is her. If it is, then we would have a very good chance of getting to her through this race." She said, causing Twilight to give a curious look.

"Why wouldn't we be able to normally? She is my sister, and I'm sure that she would want to see me at the very least."

"Yeah, but we don't want to go around to another part of the world and just barge in. Besides, if she is who we think it is, she might seek you out if you show up. If she doesn't, one of the options for a first place prize is a meeting with her. I may not know for sure, but you miss every shot you don't take." She explained, as Twilight thought on her words.

"Fine, but this is something I want to do on my own. I don't want to rely on anything that could rip me and Led any further apart." She answered, to which Rainbow Dash nodded.

The unicorn then made her way to the library to prepare for the upcoming race.

Meanwhile in the sands of Zebrica, a chase is occurring between a hooded figure, and a group of zebra warriors.

"Get your flank back here Starr! You will face Justice!" The leader of the warriors called out. This only prompted the hooded figure to run faster, while his style slowly shifted from four hooves, to a two hooved style of running.

'What type of mad dash is that?! How is he running on two hooves?!' Crossed the warriors mind, as the now named Starr started to pull away from the group.

Starr then turned the corner of a nearby sandstone mountain, disappearing behind it. Soon enough, the group of warriors rounded the same corner, only to find nothing there.

"Impossible, he couldn't have gotten away again! SEARCH THE AREA!" The lead fighter shouted out to his followers. They scrambled through the area, desperately searching for the criminal who has gotten away from them time and tine again.

Little did they know, within an enclosed cave in the mountain, the one known as Starr was relaxing. By that, it means he was panting while pushing himself up against the wall. Sweat rolled down his muzzle and neck as he felt soreness and pain settle into his hooves.

"I'm still not completely used to doing that, *Huff* that really strains my hind legs." Starr said, before pulling a bag out of his cloak. He put his coat on a rack and tossed the bag onto the table, revealing it to be filled with bread and some newspapers.

"I can't even do something as simple as fucking shopping and catching up on the news without a band of bounty hunters forcing me to bolt." Starr said to himself, the walls being the only company he had around him.

Starr was a lanky male zebra, with a long braded mane that went down to his shoulders. On his flanks was a image of a black sun, with a ripple pattern inside of it. His tail wasn't braided, and was short, barely able to fall towards the ground.

"It's all because of that damn temple, now I have a bounty on my head the size of a spirit damned alicorn!" Starr angerly said to himself. He then shook himself out of his angry reminiscing, and took up the paper while munching on some of the bread.

(Say this in an overly flamboyant fashion)

"Oooo… What's this?"

'The Green Print Run': A Race for The Ages

"A race for the sentry has been set up to show the progress and capabilities of the newly formed project 'New Harmony'. With the quick progress of this joint colony, they have decided to open a competition open to the outside world. The grand prize for the competition will be of the winners choosing, ranging from a private island to 50,000,000 bits- 50 MILLION BITS!!! That's enough to pay off my bounty and still have enough to buy a whole town!"

Starr was in shock, with this money, he could finally turn his luck around, he could do anything. He would do anything for that kind of cash.

A sly smile appeared on his muzzle, as he turned his gaze to his coat. A fire now burned in his eyes, one that was full of hope and determination.

"Looks like I'll be competing in a race."
