The Green Print Run: The Standing Stones

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

As the swarms of creatures came barreling out of the starting town, they quickly all found themselves coming up on a range of plateaus, as the ground became more sandy and the weather became more intense. The droves of people found themselves splitting as they went in different directions to find the best path through.

This location is known to the locals as The Standing Stones, due to the fact that some of those who make it through the entirety of the range found themselves standing at the sides of the island's manager(our main character). The Standing Stone, however, served a specific purpose to the one who runs the island.

To those who don't know, this place is where Catalyseur creates her Stand users. The way she does this is by having either herself or her subordinates (usually Lucky Day) scout out potential users that they can draw to their cause. If they fit the qualifications, then they use an special item created by Catalyseur.

Lucky Day remembers it very well, as it was he who it was first used on.

The Hearts of Santi.

Twilight found herself, along with a few other creatures, making their way through the cracks and paths in-between the stone plateaus. Her heart was already pounding like a drum, and dust was constantly getting in her eyes, but she kept pushing forward, eventually making it to the front of the group she was in. As she did so, she spotted a familiar figure.

He was wearing a cloak that covered the majority of his head and body, the cloak was a deep brown, and seemed to be torn up in multiple different locations along its edges, and somehow was not effected by the wind blowing past them.

It took a few moments for her to get a good view of the zebra's face, but she only caught a glimpse as he sped up ahead of her.

He had dark fur for his stripe color, similar to those found the shade that one would see in polished hematite. His regular fur was the shade of white that could only be described as egg colored. His neck was thin, as was the rest of his body, but it gave off the impression that it was from constant activity rather than being weak. Twilight could see that his mane was braided, and had a gold ring close to its end.

She didn't know why, but somehow she felt gravitated towards this individual, but she couldn't quite explain the feeling.

Whoever this is, she felt the need to keep a close eye on him.

Lucky Day was standing on the top of a large plateau, where he sat on a wooden crate. To his left was another crate, filled with large heart-like objects.

They were a deep maroon in color, and had a strange gold device attached to the front, it looked similar to a clock, but it didn't have any hands on it, rather, the numbers themselves seemed to turn on their own. The numbers were also numbered one to fifteen, which was another oddity. Stretching outwards from the gold clock were vein like wires that connected to a cover on each entrance and exit to the heart. These were the Hearts of Santi.

In front of the pegasus was another crate, this one being used as a table, with a crystal ball perched on its surface. Lucky was using the crystal ball for a observation spell, so that he could keep an eye on the participants in the race, and find those who would serve his Lady Luck well.

"This one seems like a good place to start." He spoke, picking up a heart, and imbuing it with his magic. The heart started to float away from his hoof, and glowed with a large blue aura.

"I know I really shouldn't, but I should collect some more luck from 「Luck Of the Draw」." He said, as he cranked his stand's handle, he waited patiently as his second slot spun wildly.

Everything seemed to pause for a moment, as the slot continued to spin, and Luck held his breath.

It landed on an eagle.

"Uh oh."

Meanwhile, beneath Luck's plateau

A small group of racers, consisting of a blue dragon, an earth pony, and a pair of pegasai were racing by. They were going past a small crack, when the earth pony tripped on what seemed like nothing, causing him to push the dragon into the wall.

"WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT FOR!?" The dragon roared out, before grabbing and smashing the earth pony into the plateau, creating a large crack. That crack just so happened to be a weak point in the plateau's structure, making the entire thing unstable.

The group looked up, as the cracks grew and grew upwards. The four looked at each other, before deciding to run faster away from the now collapsing structure.

Back with Luck

Luck felt the rumble as the pony below created the crack, but he wasn't quick enough to react to the collapse of the plateau.

The entire platform tilted to the side, as everything slipped downwards towards the incoming ground.

It was at this moment that the charged heart blasted in the direction the target used to be, if the crate of hearts wasn't in the way.

When the charged heart came into contact with the other hearts, they also became charged, and all began glowing brightly.

Luck was stuck, jaw agape, as all the hearts blasted of in random directions, towards targets he didn't know. He stood their for an extended period of time, before he regained his senses and flew away from the collapsing plateau.

"Maybe it won't be so bad, I mean, it's only one platea-"

CRASH

The plateau hit another platform, as it too began to collapse.

"...F*ck."
