Firewood, the curse of the winter. After spending the last hour chopping wood. You wipe some of the sweat off your forehead that has gathered even through the cold winter. Not far away you can see the clouds coming. "Ugh, time to start hauling this wood inside". You go up to your front door and prop it open so that it will be easier to move in and out.
As you work hard to get all of the firewood inside it starts to snow as you work. "If jack frost doesn't stop this he's going to get an ice-cycle right up his- AHHHHH". Fallen over a stray log, just what the doctor ordered. You pick up what you were carrying and head on inside. The new hole punched in your leg is turns out to be rather small so all you end up doing is put a band-aid over it to stop blood from getting on your pants.
Outside you notice that the snow is starting to fall at a rather steady pace and your door still propped open letting it in "great". You go over to the door and shut it up for the night. All of that lonely firewood will just have to learn to survive in the wild. Not too much of the snow got inside but enough to make a decent size puddle if you don't do anything about it. You head over to your bathroom to grab a towel to clean up the mess before it starts to melt.
While you are in the bathroom you hear something hit the ground with an "umpf". "Who's there?" You head over to a nearby closet and grab one of your grandpa's golf old clubs. "Come on out or I'm going for a hole in one" You walk into the kitchen where you heard the noise from and hear something run into the next room knocking over a vase on it's way.
"The cops are coming, just come on out." Truth is you didn't think to call the cops just in case but if this guy meant business you are going to show him the exciting part of golfing. You walk into the next room, club raised into the air searching for the robber. Then you hear it, soft breathing as if it was a scared animal. You head over to your table and see a small pony trying to hide herself.
Seeing it isn't someone trying to steal everything you have, you relax. "Hey there little buddy." The pony backs up against the wall fearing for it's life. "Don't hurt me, please." You put the golf club down on the ground.
"No one is going to hurt you, see?" The pony is still trying to back up even though it's out of space to do so. You take a closer look at the small thing and notice that it's only a filly. Then you realized why the thing is in here, she was hungry. "Ok, just wait here. Just going to get something for you."
You pick yourself up and head back over to the kitchen. Turning half of the cans on their side you fish out a jar of peanut butter. Quickly you head back over to the pony that is still backed up against the wall. You stick your pinky finger in and eat a small bit in front of the pony to show it's safe. Then you stick your pointer and middle finger in and fish out a small bit for the pony.
Slowly you reach out your arm towards the pony to offer the treat. At first she is hesitant but she slowly reaches for the peanut butter, licking it off of your fingers. Now you slowly bring your arm back in to get the pony out of her hiding place. She slowly follows your hand back out, all the while licking the treat placed on your fingers. By the time all of the peanut butter is gone she is right in front of you with a tiny smile on her face.
"You got a name?" The little pony looks up, not looking so scared anymore "S-Sweet Drop". You pick up the pony slowly so she sees what you are doing. "Lets get you cleaned up" The poor thing had a thick layer of dirt on her. After about a half hour of getting her clean you dry her off, making sure she there is not a drop of water on her.
Then you take her back to the kitchen on which you put her on the table "hungry?" The small pony perks up and a smile goes across he face very". In response you grab a knife and cut up and apple into slices. Half for you and half for her. Once again you slowly had her the apple so you don't scare the little thing.
She places her small hooves on the apple slice and hungrily eats it up. When she finishes she looks up at you with a smile across her face "can I have more"? A part of you warms up with as you give her another slice to enjoy. After your snack with Drop you prepare her some blankets on your couch. "You ok with the couch?"
The small pony slowly shakes her head yes as she climbs on the couch and wraps herself in the blankets. "Goodnight then". She squeaks a small goodnight before you head to your bed. Once you wrap yourself up you hear a small set of hooves clip-clopping on the floor before coming into your room. "C-can I sleep with you?"
You look over at Drop standing in your doorway. In response you get up and walk towards her. "Of course"
You help her up and head back to bed, laying her at the foot of the bed. However that didn't last long as he walked up and lay down at your side using your arm as a pillow. Finally you feel asleep with your new little companion.
