Twi couldn't help but feel a little guilty asking them to extend their little meetup. Guilt and shame threatened to overwhelm her. “Help me forget.”
Spike furrowed his brow, pausing his massage. “Forget what? Something wrong?”
“Never mind. Just...is it okay to cuddle with you?” He nodded, and she lit up her horn to turn off the lamp, curling up next to him and basking in his warmth while he wrapped his tail around her. She laid her head on his muscular breast, feeling the ripples with each hot breath, listening to his steady heartbeat. “I love you, Spike.”
“You too, Twilight. You too.” He kissed her temple.
Laying there in the dark, her mind started to wander, but whenever a bad thought crossed her mind, she simply drew strength from the arms wrapped about her. Her ears twitched. It had started to rain. She thanked Rainbow Dash, assuming it was her work, knowing it always helped her sleep. She smiled. She felt ready to meet up with Applejack now.
For the first time in recent memory her slumber was completely peaceful. She wasn't certain whether Luna had finally helped her conquer those demons, or she was simply drawing strength from Spike's and Rarity's love, but she thanked Celestia and Luna anyhow, feeling blessed. Even in her restless dreams, her loved ones were always at her side.

Originally I intended to jump straight to AJ, but tried to slow it down a tad to let the main characters breathe a little more, so sorry if this tale seems a bit insubstantial compared to its prequels.
