Fluttershy was outside in Ponyville feeding some ducks in a pond as she had been out that day in order to enjoy the nice weather. She had just got done tending to a deer who had been injured by a wild earlier in the day and had made her way over to the body of water.
As she fed them she watched them swim all around to get the food that she had handed to them, she thought that they were pretty cute as they ate up all of the food.
Fluttershy wished she had a fish of her own as she has never purchased one even if she knows how to take care of one. She was going to have to get one eventually.
After she fed them for a while she went back into Ponyville and headed to her cottage. Before she could get their however she ran into Twilight
"Hi Fluttershy. This is new for you to be out here...what are you doing?" Twilight asked with curiosity. Fluttershy blushed and averted her eyes.
"I was at the pond watching the fish...that's about it." Fluttershy said. Twilight nodded.
"Want to come and hang over at my place in a bit? We can relax there unless you want to stay here with me." Twilight asked. Fluttershy thought about it as both options sounded good.
"Dont you have work to do though...like official royal duties or events that you need to attend or set up?" Fluttershy asked.
"If I did I wouldbt have come here i would be at Canterlot planning With Celestia or meeting with another leader or something. Do you have anything to do?" Twilight said.
"No I dont so hanging out with you sounds like a good idea no matter how much I like looking at fishes." Fluttershy said. Twilight and Fluttershy both sat up and went to Twilight's castle. When they got their they picked up their conversation.
"Is Spike home?" Fluttershy asked as they made it inside. As Fluttershy looked around she saw that Twilight hasn't changed much of it as it has been kept in its regal state.
"No hes out visiting Shining Armor. He wont be back until tomorrow." Twilight said.
"Spike's at the Crystal Empire? How did he manage to get there?" Fluttershy asked with concern.
"By train! Cadence picked him up. He really wanted to see him. So I have the castle to myself right now and to be honest its...kind of nice even if I do miss Spike." Twilight said.
"When is he coming back?" Fluttershy asked as she wondered if Spike would be gone for a very long time.
"Soon. He won't be gone for long. We will be seeing him again soon. I dont think hes planning on moving out but if he wants to do that he would need help." Twilight said.
"What do you mean?" Fluttershy asked.
"Well hes still an adult so it would be difficult for him but if he moves out I'll help him the best I can." Twilight changed the subject.
"Do you still take care of animals Fluttershy? Twilight asked. Fluttershy was suprised by this question as Twilight should already know the answer. She wanted to know why Twilight was asking her.
Fluttershy couldn't believe Twilight had asked such an obvious question as she would be taking carwyn of animals for the rest of her life as it was her calling in life ti do so. She wasn't going to abandon her job as she loved it and was destined th di it for the rest of her life.
"Of course I do...why did you bring this up?" Fluttershy asked with her brow raised. Twilight bit her lip as she thought about how to being up her question.
"I want to have...a pet snake...non poisonous one." Twilight said with hesitation. Fluttershy pursued her lips.
"I dont know Twilight...I've taken care of non poisonous snakes for years and I dont think you would be able to take care of one since you already have a pet plus snakes are...tricky sometimes..." Fluttershy said.
"That's okay I want one and I'll learn to. Maybe you can teach me!" Twilight exclaimed. Fluttershy rubbed the back of her head as she thought about it.
"Are...you really sure about this? I mean...really sure?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight shrugged.
"Well...yeah I am! What is so bad about raising a snake?" Twilight asked.
"Nothing. The fact that you want one just shocks me but if you really want to learn about snake care I'll teach you." Fluttershy said. Twilight hugged her.
"Thanks Fluttershy your the best." Twilight said. Fluttershy smiled and broke away from the hug.
"Your welcome. If your serious about this I'll bring some books on how to care for snakes for you and next week I'll let you pick one out." Fluttershy said.
"Awesome!" Twilight said. Fluttershy and Twilight talked girl a bit more and soon Fluttershy left Twilight's castle and went back to her castle as she couldnt wait for her new pet.
Soon Twilight was trained on how to deal with snakes and snake bites in general in order to be prepared and on the safe side in case anything happened with the snake.
Fluttershy made sure not to rush any of the training and also made Twilight read more books about the subject than she had to just so she knew every detail.
They also made room in Twilight's bedroom for new pet.
Once that was done Fluttershy planned with Twilight on getting one in the next few weeks. Fluttershy and Twilight just hoped that nothing would go wrong.
Before Twilight got her pet snake Fluttershy finally fulfilled her wish of getting a fish and purchased one for herself. It was small but she could probably take care of it with no problem at all. She showed it to Twilight who told her that she would have done it sooner if she had wanted to do it so badly.
Twilight finally purchased a tamed non venomous snake.
