Confrontation Over Education
During one day Cheerilee a teacher in Ponyville was grading papers in the Ponyville school house as school had ended for the day since it always ended around the same time it usually ended for all students.
It had been a long day and she was glad that her work for the day was coming to the end even if she liked teaching as she needed the breaks due to having to come up with a lesson plan everyday and teaching children everyday.
Cadence went through each paper and graded it, she was going through a pile of them as their was quite a few to check since she had a few students in her class.
She knew that if she gets more students next year she was going to demand a bigger school to be built for all ages and grades as her school was to little and to simple for the modern era that Equestria was now experiencing.
The new era was now a growth era in Equeastria as more children were entering the age of when they move to the elementary grade. Cheerilee wished she could sleep meeting demands of more parents to teach more children but it was difficult. She hoped to get a new school built soon.
Once Cherilee checked them someone knocked on the door that led intonthe Ponyville school house and Cherilee decided to let them in as it couldbt hurt her to see who it was that wanted to see her as it could be a parent of a student or a student.
"Come in." Cherilee said. The person walked in and Cherilee looked up to see that it was Rarity walking up to her desk. Cheerilee stretched out her hand and shook Rarity's hand. They then both pulled away and Cheerilee spoke with a cheerilful tone in order to greet Rarity in a nice way to make Rarity feel like she was welcome.
"Ah Rarity it's nice to see you. Here sit down at my desk so you can be comfortable." Cheerilee said. Rarity sat down and looked straight at Cheerilee as Cheerilee gave Rarity her undivided attention.
"Thank you Cheerilee. Not to many teachers are kind like you. I hear about the unkind ones all the time in the news, you would think that these ones would be fired but no they are kept around to save money." Rarity said.
"Your talking about the impatient ones at the universities. Yeah I would never act like them, they all need to get training in politeness or be fired if they are not willing to be nice, besides how could I be good while acting like that?" Cheerilee said.
"Exactly! I'm glad your here Cheerilee I was wondering If I had to send a letter to communicate for you because you wouldnt be present here. I thought you would be home after a work day." Rarity said.
"No you don't have to. I just finished grading papers so you have my undivided attention. I always stick around for some time before I go home after each class that I teach every day. How may I help you Rarity? Please done be nervous to speak your mind." Cheerilee asked.
"I asked Sweetie Belle about what you were teaching her in class and she told me that you were teaching her evolution. Me and her are Christian Cheerilee and we dont want to hear that nonsense." Rarity complained.
Cheerilee realized what this entire conversation was going to become if she refused to acknowledge that fact so she decided to apologize.
"I'm sorry Rarity...its just state law requires me to teach it..I had no idea both of you would take offense. I will exempt her from that part of science class." Cheerilee said.
Rarity was shocked at how Cheerilee responded, she was not expecting for Cheerilee to agree with her." Rarity was speechless, she stared at Cheerilee while she was stunned.
"Well...uh...sorry for being rude about it, I didnt mean to be demanding it's just that I dont want Sweetie Belle hearing the nonsense that's taught by secularists." Rarity apologized. Cheerilee shrugged.
"Your not being rude. I'm glad you told me, she wont be learning that part anymore. Was their anything else that I can help you with dear?" Cheerilee asked. Rarity shrugged.
"No...not really. Uh...thanks for listening to my concern darling. I want to let you know that I'm not planning on using the school or planning on preaching to you." Rarity said.
"Your welcome. Good bye Rarity." Cheeliee said as Rarity left. Rarity smiled and waved and left the Ponyville schoolhouse as she was still stunned at how quickly the issue had been resolved since the way the issue was resolved wasnt how it was resolved at other schools in Equestria.
Cheerilee was grateful that Rarity wasnt going to sue her. She knew that if Rarity did sue her Rarity would win as she would have Celestia's support since members of the royal family in Canterlot where Christians and defended Twilight and her friends.
Cheerilee left the Ponyville schoolhouse and went home as she was relieved that the meeting was a polite one and was glad that they treated eachother with respect.
Cheerilee exempted Sweetie Belle from science class and had her put in another class for extra credit as she had to make up for the education she would now be missing since she was taken out of the science class Cheerilee taught.
In the new class Sweetie Belle was put in she was able to make up for the stuff she wasbt lea ring by learning something else. While she had the extra credit class she was still able to be in Cheerilee's class.
Rarity and Cheerilee were happy that they had agreed for Swertie Belle to be given a class that substituted for the science class. They were both happy that the change had worked
Cheerilee finally got a bigger school and alot of teaching assistants in order to teach the teenagers and the growing list if children starting the grade Cheerilee taught. It finally solved Cheerilee's problem.
Cheerilee never had any more problems with her school ever again.
